Being the Caretaker Again

Squeaking in reply, Sam nodded, he was hungry. But he was more excited than hungry, giving the events that would play today. The little one couldn't wait to see all the things in the stores they might be visiting. People were nice to them, and the handful that were sometimes mean and hurtful to Daddy and him...well, Daddy always took care of that.

Eating some of the food Daddy gave him, Sam smiled widely, the oatmeal smeared at the corner of his mouth. Dean had made it, the long-haired baby knew, and it tasted yummy. Batting at the older's cheek, the younger showed that he loved it.

"You like it, huh, Sammy?" Dean cooed as he scooped up another bite, and brought the spoon to Sam's mouth, grinning whenever his baby boy ate his food. He was glad that Sam liked his cooking.

Finishing all of his breakfast, Sam burped before giggling at the sound he made. Knowing he was messy, the younger waited for Daddy to clean him up. And then, later, they could go shopping.

Dean smiled as he gently cleaned Sam's face with a wet cloth, wiping away any food residue. Then, he lifted Sam out of his highchair and carried hm to the nursery, where he gently sat him down on the floor and gave him a toy to play with while he looked for a cute outfit to change him into.

Scooting on his bottom to get a better look at the toy infront of him: a small teething toy with clouds printed on it that made a crinkling sound when you squeezed it, Sam picked it up. In his large hand, the toy was very small, but it was perfect. Squeezing it as hard as he could, and getting a loud *crinkle* out of it, the little one squealed loudly before doing it again and again, rather than use it for its intended purpose of teething, his noises of excitement getting louder and louder.

Dean grinned at Sam and walked over to him, picking him up and sitting him on the changing table. He smiled as he slid a cute blue and green striped shirt and a pair of denim shortalls onto Sam, adding socks and velcro shoes last. "There we go, Sammy. How do you like the outfit, baby boy?" Dean asks.

Looking down at himself, and staring at his shoes, Sam giggled and pounded his hands onto the table in happiness. He really liked this outfit, it was comfy and looked nice.

"L-lllikkke...Da-aaadddy," Sam said, concentrating on his words. The more he talked, the happier Daddy seemed.

"You like it, huh? Alright, let's go put you in your car seat, buddy." Dean cooed, as he lifted Sam up, and grabbed the diaper bag, before heading out to the Impala.

Once they were out by the car, Dean opened the passenger door, and sat Sammy down in his car seat, buckling him in, and smiling as he shut the door and went around to his side.

Babbling as Sam looked around the Impala, he smiled. It being basically his childhood home, the car meant a lot to him, though he couldn't process any of that. Then batting his hand at the little animals dangling from above his carseat to keep the little one occupied, Sam kicked his long legs in glee.

Dean glanced over at Sam, and chuckled, as he headed to town. Dean cooed and talked to Sammy the whole way there, knowing how he liked to listen to Daddy talk.

While he couldn't really understand what Daddy was saying, Sammy liked to listen to his voice. It was comforting and protective. Sucking his thumb, the little one watched the scenery pass by, occasionally waving enthusiastically and grinning, dimples showing, to any dogs that he saw.

"Seein' lots of doggies, aren't you, Sammy? You know, we may just have to get you your own doggy. Would you like that?" Dean asks, knowing how much Sam loved dogs.

Hearing his Daddy's words, Sam's hazel eyes widened before the what the older said really hit him. Bouncing erratically and squealing in his carseat, the little one also kicked his legs against the passenger's seat of the Impala.

"D-d-doggiieeee!" Sam cheered.

"Yeah. Doggy, Sam. Alright, we're here, buddy. You ready to go shopping?" Dean asked, as he got Sam out and put him in his stroller, giving him a paci, and a bottle before pushing him into the mall.

Calming down to a small degree, Sam's squeals quieted a fraction and he nodded, wanting to go shopping with Daddy. Sitting in his stroller, holding his bottle, and sucking happily on his pacifier, the little one wiggled as the older continued to push him into the mall.

Looking around in mild awe at everything there, the younger watched people of all different shapes and sizes walk by, and either no one noticed the large "baby" in the stroller, or cooed at how cute he was, making Sam smile shyly.

Dean smiled as he pushed the stroller into a special store for adult babies. He headed to the clothing section first, wanting to buy Sammy a few new outfits. "Alright, baby boy. Look at this one, you like it?" Dean asks, showing Sam a mint green romper with white stripes, and a hood. Sam didn't have many rompers, so Dean wanted to at least get one new one. Dean wrinkled his nose a bit, as he started to smell something. He dismissed it though, figuring that Sam was just gassy, or something.

Nodding at the outfit Daddy picked out for him, Sam settled back into his stroller. They were in a store for people like him and Daddy, so he could just be himself. The store had changing rooms too...which, the little one was going to need one soon, as his breakfast had started to come up on him. Finishing his business, the younger squirmed.

Dean smiled as he placed the romper in the basket and picked out some more outfits, that he liked and thought would look good on Sam. Then, he headed to the checkout, smiling as he placed the items on the counter. That's when the smell hit him. "Oh....Phew, Sammy, do you need a fresh diaper, little guy?" He asks.

Whimpering, Sam nodded. He felt messy, and not the good kind of messy either. Hopefully Daddy wasn't mad.

Dean sighed and paid for the items, grabbing them and taking Sam to one of the adult baby changing rooms, to change him. Once he got Sam into the room, he laid him down on the changing table and unsnapped his shortalls, pulling out supplies and going through the process of changing Sam.

Hearing Daddy's sigh, the little one thought the older was upset with him. He didn't mean to make a mess, he couldn't help it. Tears sprung in the corners of Sam's eyes, and he didn't want to look at Dean.

"I-I...s-soowyyy," the long-haired one mourned.

"Aww. It's okay, baby boy. It was an accident, I'm not mad at you." Dean cooed as he finished taping on the clean diaper, giving the front a gentle pat, before snapping up Sam's shortalls again, and lifting him into his arms.

Hiccuping as his crying seized, Sam nuzzled his face into Daddy's jacket, being comforted by the smell of leather and musk. Feeling particularly affectionate, Sam sloppily kissed Dean's cheek and giggled.

Dean smiled and kissed Sam's cheek in return, as he put him back in his stroller, giving him his pacifier again, before leaving the store. "Alright, buddy, where to?" He asks.

Babbling behind his paci, Sam pointed to the toy store beside the adult baby store they were just in. Sometimes Sam felt selfish whenever he wanted a new toy, but today he was feeling rather brave. Plus, he was being a good boy today.
