At the Adventurers' Table

Hoped that you would like it. Just how bad is the throat wound?

13 points of hit point damage out of Luna's 39 (1/3rd). In game terms, that's it; no special bleeding damage (like Otiorin's Bleeding Attack Rogue ability).

Sparkle, however, is pointing out something that Luna might like to know... =)

@Sherwood You're leaving later tomorrow (or today by my time). if Cap'n, Wolf, and Kaerri (and Killfire if he's able) are unable to post, want to say that Luna is recovering in the Adventurers' Wagon with Sparkle until you get back or something? I don't know what the party will be doing from one scene to the next (this is not a bad thing, but it does keep life interesting). =)

Sounds like a plan. In the short term, she would be doing what she can to help stabilize the others until such time as a better healer (Bria) is able to take over.

All right. =) You'll only be gone for a few short days. Thanks for letting me know. =)

@Wolf Rawrrr Hey you! Leonard should be upon the Wanderers in a few in-game minutes. Shall I send you an alert when that happens? Since we are out of combat, our posts are pretty open (as opposed to being in tabs).

You know, on reflection, I don't remember assigning any skill points when I levelled up. Could someone double check my numbers?

Captain Hesperus

Sure, Cap'n! Here's the math on my end:

3 levels of Sorcerer (2 per level) = 6

4 levels of Rogue (8 per level) = 32

Intelligence attribute: 11 (no bonus) = 0

Went with 1 bonus hit point instead of skills = 0

Total spendable points: 38

Total skill points spent = 41

Difference = 3

Huh! Cap'n, it looks like Otiorin has 3 skill points too many... Anyone else coming up with a different number? Did I miss something?

Cap'n? Maybe you also want to update Otiorin's gear?

- The Moonlit Edge? She's now a Short sword of Frost +3 (does d6+3 slashing and d6 extra cold damage on a successful hit) with Light on command.

- The Mage-skin armor (if memory serves) is Leather Armor +2 with no casting penalties.

- Otiorin now has a little item currently called the "Odd Stone" (the little friend he picked up from the pile of burning ash who had it coming former Wee Jas team leader).

Also, Otiorin's gold count has got to be inaccurate; a chapter or two back, I solidly recall the Wanderers dividing up their coins (back when they last trained). He's got a lot more gold than that... 2,822 g.p. to be exact. Remember that by that time I had introduced Mithril currency from our tabletop game (so each party member doesn't have to carry around thousands of gold pieces at 50 g.p./pound. So... 1 Mithril coin = 1,000 g.p.).

Welcome back, Sherwood! Did your niece enjoy the fun white stuff? How about you? =)

I am going to attempt to post tonight (I'm beat, but I think I've got enough to write/express what I want). =)

Real quick question: once Luna has had a chance to get her throat tended to, is she able to talk, or is she cursed to silence? I don't want to post her having a conversation and then find out that the post is wrong.

Oh. Concerning Killfire. I've chatted with him recently and due to a recent fight with pneumonia and complications with dialysis, he says he will not be RPing in the near future ("if ever"; his words). Since this is happening, I am putting Bronze back into Temporal Stasis. Sorry that you're losing your wonderful and talented blacksmith when you clearly need him, but as the French say, c'est la vie ("That's life.").

@Sherwood Insert standard Dungeon Master reply here: "I don't know; I just work here." =) Or put another way, you'll have to learn that in-game. Until something is done, Luna is living the life of a mute (much to the joy of the damned Dire Wolf of Dalsus's joy, I might add).

@Wolf Rawrrr Heya, Wolf! There is now a post involving Leonard (Entry #124). =)

Heya folks! After you've read in-game, here are some thoughts in the following spoiler:

1. RpNation! The only place I can imagine I'd post Ozzy Osbourne (as the theme of the Dire Wolf of Dalsus) and The Carpenters (for Bria) all in the same post! Anyone else find the songs fitting? =)

2. With Bronze in Temporal Stasis indefinitely, what do you guys think should happen to the Forge Wagon? I don't want to take anything away that you've earned, yet without Bronze, what use is it to you? Thoughts?

3. Sometimes I'm glad when combat gets over with - some of my bad guys are Real Assholes and I don't like having them in my head any longer than I have to. Just saying. =)

Remind me about Temporal Stasis. We pretend as if Bronze never existed, is that it?

p.s. relay this wolf's best to our dear fluffy rabbit *howl*

red = direwolf

yellow = monks (approx. number)

blue = wolf

Wolf is basically hoping to follow at safe distance but alongside the enemy until they reach an area where he might take a shot at the direwolf. Provided that he estimates enough time for shapeshifting back into human form and aiming the bow, of course. He'll settle for a long shot if necessary, but won't continue pursuit for longer than a mile. If there's no chances by then, he's calling it a day and returning swiftly to the Wanderers.

Except when fighting really low-level bad guys (which the dire wolf is not, by any stretch), or if performing a coup de gras (which requires a helpless opponent), the system doesn't really let us one-shot someone. If Wolf takes a shot at the warg, he is highly likely to find himself facing all of the monks and the warg by himself. They can probably run faster than he can, possibly even if he's in wolf form (depends how much monk the monk/mages have). I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your character, but taking a shot at the warg has pretty high odds of getting Wolf killed while the rest of the party still don't even know where he is.

Re: Luna: She can still make her remarks to Sparkle, at least, who can relay them to the group? I'm pretty sure that whatever the wolf did is going to need to be magically treated, once we know what it is and how to counter it.

Aw. I guess I'm thinking too liberal for Pathfinder, then. I'm so used to freeform RPs.

I was imagining it like something out of LOTR (the movies), like when Legolas shoots at the wargs in Rohan - only imagine that there was only one of them, running away from him, and through a forest. My point is, far from an impossible scenario in fantasy movies or even reality. I was hoping Wolf might loosen an arrow and at least hit the direwolf. Not necessarily kill, but perhaps injure or at least achieve a flesh wound for a psychological effect, then run back to camp regardless of the results of the shot.

But if Pathfinder doesn't allow for situations like this (e.g. the dice mechanics can't interpret that), I guess I'll just edit my post and have Wolf give up altogether in the start. Sadly *howl*

Yeah, it's one of the unfortunate things about a dice system like this. Some tricks possible in real life can work in Pathfinder (like firing so fast you've got multiple arrows in the air at once, with the right feats), but many can't. You could probably wing him or even a more serious hit, but killing is right out, and he's shown himself to be very perceptive (which Wolf might know from past history), so I'm afraid he'd know right where the archer that shot him is.

Oh, Pathfinder certainly allows for it if the creatures in question are of different level. Consider the wargs in The Lord of the Rings movies to be about 2nd level (Legolas certainly isn't and he can one-shot them all day long).

This is what I was going to post. Then you posted. =)

"@Wolf Rawrrr Please roll a Perception check for Wolf here (love the map, by the way). If at any time you roll an attack roll on them, then consider combat joined. That said, I have to add - Kaerri has the right of the situation. I can see Wolf causing some serious damage and killing a few, but I do see them returning the favor. Also, remember there is a thunderstorm going on. No clear weather here (and therefore no clear shot; the forest alone provides plenty of cover)."

So Otiorin is going to assist someone else with fixing Bria's arms because he is not medically-minded and would likely kill her with his attempts at first aid.
