Thanks but all my life I've fought against your saying lol *howl*

And no sleep for the wicked, they say *rawrrr*

I will post tomorrow, even though I have nothing much to post. I would have sent Pecker - which you did, so don't hold up with the next update just for my sake (unless you need me to post something specific...?)

Take care of *you*, silly Wolf! We and the game will be here when you have time and energy.

@Wolf Rawrrr *incoming silliness* What?! Fight against my saying, will you?! That's it! You've had it! @killfire @Everyone Let's get him!! Let the pillow beatings begin!

@All. Re: Master Wizard's name. Whoops! Going through the story, I caught one of my own goofs. This diabolic fellow is Karthas the Master Wizard (not Kalthas). I have adjusted my previous posts where I caught the mistake. Sorry about that!

(WHAPT! Whapt! PIFFT!) YES! A battle where no one dies, or get's hurt, unless it's the GIGGLIES! lol

Um is there a way I can Improve the chances of a success on crafting master tool thingies?

Killfire, I can't think of anything. The very item Bronze is trying to build will grant a +2 to all future Craft rolls involving that tool (in this case, a hammer). However, there is plenty of masterwork steel to use here (thanks, Bilal the Derpy! 8D ), so I think it's just a matter of time.

Go ahead and give it a go, say, with three attempts (and we'll stop at the first successful roll so you're not making duplicate hammers)?

We all know you mean this guy tho: >click meh< *woof*

What size is the crystal sphere? Are we talking snow globe or bowling ball? Or something in between? Is there any carvings/symbols/runes on the surface, an is there any other materials attached to the sphere?

[QUOTE="Captain Hesperus]He swiftly clambered up into the branches of a tree, the better to watch for anything that might have kept pace with them.

Good call there, Cap'n. Even if our pursuers weren't keen on chasing us to the ends of the Earth before, after this little theft they probably sure as hell are *woof*

Just try to keep Otiorin from falling asleep up there ( ;) )

Hey @Wolf Rawrrr! Grats and thanks for being such a great fellow! This one's for you! =)

Oh, and thanks to Wolf and his link up there, we know a little more about Luna's old college buddy...

Upon dying, Karthus enters a spirit form and becomes invulnerable and untargetable, allowing him to continue casting spells at no cost for 7 seconds.
So be ready for that the next time you cross paths with him. Just kidding! =)
@Sherwood That damned thing (whoops, Sparkle chiming in there)-- Sherwood, the shining crystal globe is about the size of a softball. It is surprisingly heavy (about 11 pounds/5.5 kg). There are no apparent markings of any kind on it. Please roll a Spellcraft check for me.=)

So yes... Sometimes my characters have minds (lives) of their own. When Vardadraug popped in my head and began that little escapade with Sparkle, I knew I had some die rolling to do... but that's part of the precious fun of storytelling. =)

"Quickly! Spread out and move away from the wagons [...]"
Sherwood, you do realize that we are on a hill overlooking the road and the wagons?

Otherwise, Wolf is going to position himself behind any tree large enough to completely hide him, directly away from the direction that the enemy will arrive from. This should allow him to surprise them and/or benefit from some cover during the fight *rawrrr*

Just a quick mechanics question about the crystal orb. Do I need to cast Dispel Magic three times to free all three women, or is one casting enough to rescue all of them?

Sherwood: From what Luna's Spellcraft roll tells her, one successful casting should suffice. The globe, by its very functions, is a prison best used against magical things, and so magic is difficult to use against it (yet still one option).

Understood. You mentioned that there were other ways; can I do some research to find out what some other ways are in my books?

Luna's Spellcraft was her best bet. Perhaps other methods belonging to her party members might fill in the gaps? The Wanderers have many resources. =)

Put another way, looking over Luna, I don't think there are any other methods that she possesses that would allow her either a Spellcraft re-roll or another avenue into the mystery.

Um ok lets see... Rolling to mastercraft a hammer. Are the bonuses cumulative? For example, Smiths also use Tongs would it be +4 if I was using mastercraft tongs, and hammer? This is a question for curiosity sake, while a smith may only have 1 or 3 hammers, they have Dozens of Tongs. And good grief, that would be a pain in the but to haul around.

Remember that Luna learned three ways from her Spellcraft roll (all right, two and a possibility). However, she only informed the party of one. Maybe she can bring up the fact that a rogue might give it a try?

@killfire They are not cumulative. In Pathfinder, each type of crafting requires one set of tools (called artisan's tools) that all together provide a +2 bonus to that one crafting skill. I focused on the hammer because I know that's something Bronze likes. On his character sheet though, it will show "Mastercraft Metalsmith's Tools." Because Bronze completed these tools on that first roll, I am disregarding the rolls of 15 and 13 (Look, Ma! No wasted steel!). Great roll! =)

Bronze has the option of making other crafting tools for other crafting skills (tailoring, alchemy, etc.) each requiring its own roll.

Speaking of rolls,

(Dan taking some liberties here, I think a 29 out of 30 is a "Success", Cue "Anvil of Crom")
I want to point out that "29 out of 30" is a misconception. I don't want anyone thinking that DCs (Difficulty Classses - that number one needs to meet or beat to succeed) have a ceiling of 30. They can go higher. Still, a 29 is one hell of result, and Bronze's new Masterwork Metalsmith Tools are probably the best he has ever made - quite a shiny achievement! =)

Here's the mighty song Killfire mentioned by the wonderful Basil Pouledouris. =)

Talk about terrific mood music for any fantasy game. =)

Wow *howl*

Good old times I'd say, if this movie hadn't come out a decade before this Wolf took his first breath ( :P ).

Ah, music truly is timeless. I love this (<3). This piece sounds just as amazing as if it was written yesterday. Wrote my post just now while this was (re)playing in the background ( ;) ) *woof*

I love that movie's soundtrack. (:3)

And yeah, skill DCs... Kaerri the Rogue had a doozy to beat once. Disable Device against a magical trap on the door to a Jotunheim giant's treasury. I don't remember the DC offhand, I just remember thinking, "...uh. You guys might want to stand back. Like, way back. Like, outside. And have the rez spells ready!" (2 clerics and a paladin in the group at the time.) She ended up squeezing under the door, between the door and doorframe, instead. (Who thinks to put a trap on that? Not him!) Yes, big big door, so she could (barely) fit. Yay for half-elf slenderness!

Will this be a Use Magical Device or Disable Device roll? Also, can I 'take 20'?

Captain Hesperus

Heya Cap'n! =) It is a Disable Device roll (with apparently not-too-high a difficulty, but not so easy to allow taking 10 or 20).

@Captain Hesperus Let me know if you want me to roll it here (and let me know what color d20 if you fancy). =)

@Sherwood @killfire @Kaerri @Captain Hesperus @Wolf Rawrrr

Heya folks! At this stage, what do the Wanderers want to do? Do you want to...

1. Take up Skaagenrackner's offer and let him face the things on your tail while you pack up and make for the next checkpoint at Melshaef's Tree?

2. Decline his offer and face those baddies yourself?

3. Relax and enjoy the amenities of the Adventurers' Wagon and stay at the checkpoint at Ember's Wood?

4. Any mixture of the above or anything else you can think up?

I think we should escape for now. Our mission was to free the Daughters, not slay the wizard.
