I am horribly bad at having main characters! MMOs, I've got a list in every game (11 in my current one, in various stages of being played). Dann didn't mention the centaur, the human monk/cleric, or the gray-elf bard I've played in his world over the years, either... And remember, I started this game with a different character. I WANT TO PLAY THEM ALL!!


*ahem*


Anyway, the point is, if you get to a point where you want to put Leonard on pause, as it were, we'll understand and look forward to the new character. And if you don't, that's cool too! It's important to play what, and who, you're happy with.
 
Things to remember when leveling (besides updating your character sheet with the latest and greatest). =)


1. Roll the hit points on your character thread, please, rerolling results of 1. Add any Constitution bonuses you may have.


2. Remember to add your +1 hit point/level or +1 skill point/level (depending on your Favored class).


3. Increase your Skill Points (you may have no ranks in a skill higher than your level. Ranks of 5, 10 (divisibles of 5) provide special bonuses to that skill (see the Shop Talk thread).


4. Please increase your character's saving throws and base attack if they increase.


5. Remember to learn about any new class features or bonuses your character might get at 8th level.


6. Ask questions here when they come up (Cap'n, Wolf, you're still our "new guys" so if you want any help at all, say the word).


7. Spellcasters, let me know what new magical spells you can cast (preferably by stating it here and recording it on your character sheet).


8. Do not forget to add 1 attribute point to any attribute of your choice (and, if necessary, update your skills, saving throws, etc. from there).


9. If you have not chosen a second Signature Ability, let's talk! Otherwise... it's just there... wasting away when it could be useful (don't feel bad if you haven't; I still haven't figured out what Bria wants for hers... and it's been months! Hah!). =)

@Sherwood - I apologize for having Wolf arrive after Luna, but I needed it. I know you (perhaps reasonably) assumed that she'd take longer to get ready, but no girl could possibly take as long to get physically ready as Wolf could to ready himself mentally! *rawrrr*


Dann, but I understand as we have not yet trained that we are not to actually update the sheets just yet?

Another good thing: Feel free to share your character improvements here!


For example, Bria...

- Increased her Charisma by 1 (which improves her healing abilities, Channel Energy feature, and some skills)


- Decided upon her 2nd Signature Ability (called Blessed Healing - when determining results from healing hit points, rolls of one on the die count as two. (i.e. her Cure Light Wounds spell heals d8+8. With this benefit, the minimum amount healed by that spell is 10 hit points instead of 9).


- She rolled 6 (on a d8) for hit points bringing her total to 69.



- Her Fortitude and Will Saving throws increased by 1. =)



- Increased the following skills: Diplomacy (to Rank 5), Heal (to Rank 8), Knowledge: Nature (to Rank 5), Perception (to Rank 2), and Spellcraft (to Rank 8)



- She gains another casting of her 4th level spells per day.



- Her Melee Attack (Base attack + Strength modifier)
doubled (+1 to +2, which makes her very happy even though she might never make use of it! "Grr, grr! I'm mean, fierce Bria! Umm... Yes, I think that's funny too!").







 
I was just about to say that I added my level 8 bonuses.


Rolled a 2 (+1 Con bonus) for hit points,


Added +1 to my Int, giving me more spell slots, a bonus to my Will Save, +1 to my Base Attack, and a nice increase to my Spellcraft and Knowledge Arcana skills
 
Cool! What 2 new spells is Luna choosing? Also, I take it Luna's Favored Class is Wizard and she's putting that +1 skill point or hit point into skill? Remember you can alternate if you'd rather another hit point.
 
I'll go for the hit point; and the two spells are a level 1 Ear Piercing Scream and level 4 Shout. Just something for Wolf to keep in mind when he makes me mad; I have a shrill voice.

Kaerri sent Bria here to say, "Hi-hi, everyone! Since we're all going up a level now and getting skill points, wouldn't it be nice if we all spoke a language that our foes didn't likely speak? Like... Celestial? You know. Like a team language? It's 2 skill points in Linguistics if you'd like it."


EDIT: Whoops! GM here. In Pathfinder, a new language costs
1 skill point in Linguistics, not 2. Late night last night (or... "I'm using Cap'n's 1 a.m. excuse! It worked for him! Yeah, that's it!" =) ).

Well, I just got a boost in my linguistics skill, so I have no problem picking up a special team language like that.

2. Where are Luna's languages? I see that she has 6 ranks in Linguistics and an Intelligence modifier of +6 for a grand Callen-worthy total of 12 languages. Given that Luna is human, she can choose any languages she likes save for secret languages (like Druidic, Thieves' Cant, etc.).


3. Re: Signature Abilities. Luna's second ability reads thusly:

That list looks just about right and you're welcome to use it (I just don't want you missing out on any earned goodies, so please double-check with my list).


2. (on my list) Leonard's Favored Class is clearly Ranger. Since he is going up a level in that class (as opposed to taking another class), Leonard may add one bonus skill point or hit point (your choice).
 
Moar!

- Increased his Intelligence by 1 (increasing his pitiful skill point pool by 8 bringing his total from 26 to 34).


- Decided upon his 2nd Signature Ability ("IN DAAA FAAAAAAACE!")


- He rolled 8 (on a d10) bringing his hit points to a monstrous 96.


- +1 to his base attack


- All of his saving throws increased by 1.


- Chose Dazzling Display as his Fighter bonus feat. (now all he needs is another large-sized maul to use it). This is basically a 30-foot Intimidation "to hit" and "saving throw" debuff against all enemies who fail the check.


- Increased the following skills: Acrobatics, Heal, Intimidate, Perception, Stealth, and now he speaks Celestial (Intelligence bonus language).


SIGNATURE ABILITY #2: "IN DAAA FAAAAAAACE!"


Powerpaw is highly adept at making called shots to his enemies' faces (assuming they have one). As such he has the following benefits when attempting a Called Shot - Head:


1. He can make multiple attempts in the full-round action required for making Called Shots (currently 2 instead of 1).


2. Head shots are Easy (-2 to hit) instead of Tricky (-5 to hit).


3. Powerpaw is +2 when confirming a critical threat for a Critical Called Shot (including the roll to confirm for extra damage).

Hunter's Bond (Ex): At 4th level, a ranger forms a bond with his hunting companions. This bond can take one of two forms. Once the form is chosen, it cannot be changed. In other news, I have heard from our Fuzzy Pillow thwapping Killfire on RpN. He has chosen not to role-play here anymore (and possibly anywhere else). He may pop in and say "hi" down the road, but as far as Sharseya is concerned, Bronze is in a permanent state of Temporal Stasis. This leaves the Wanderers without their wonderful blacksmith. This also leaves me with a couple of concerns.


1. What happens now to the prismalcum?


2. What happens now to the Forge Wagon? Does it disappear with him?


What say you guys?

It's sad to hear that Killfire (and Bronze) shan't be returning. :(


I vote that Bronze parts ways along with Kitrin when we reach Highwind, taking his wagon of artifice with him to settle amongst the peaceful Hobbit folk of that region.


As for the Prismalcum, I don't know. I guess we need to continue with our previous plan and find someone who can craft something from it.

I'm not really concerned about access to the forge-wagon since that was sort of Bronze's thing anyway, and could probably stay in TS like the rest of his personal items.


I do think we ought to have access to the Prismalcum still, though, since that was a party item.

@Captain Hesperus Hey, Cap'n! Nice upgrades there for a guy in a bath towel (Ha ha! What a scene)! The Ice Slick spell is not one I'm familiar with (and it's not in the Pathfinder Core Book). However, reading through it, I have decided to allow it. What a useful spell! There are a lot of creative tricks one might try with it. =) So, enjoy!


Concerning your idea with Bronze retiring with the Hobbits in Highwind, that's a darned good idea! That sounds like a place he'd be happy, well-thought-of, and safe (not to mention well-fed!). Thanks, Cap'n!


@Sherwood Whoops! I misread it! Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, 6 bonus Human languages... If you have any questions about which languages would be useful, exotic, etc., let me know?
 
I snagged Elf, Dwarf, Draconic (thanks to Sparkle), and Celestial. Is that ok?
