Fantasy Assassins: Battles of the Creeds

Outcast was tired and crashed on an unoccupied couch. And by unoccupied, she meant that she pushed the person who was originally sleeping there off of it and proceeded to plop onto it and sleep there.

Corei sighed in annoyance, not content with the way things had ended previously with Maciv. "He's planning something and it'll probably work, they killed so many people for the sake of it and I can't stand those fucking assholes." Corei banged her head lightly against the wall, reminding herself that there wasn't much she could do about it.

@Griffin

In the other safehouses, mostly, everything went pretty well. The guild was small, and having a small guild meant that everyone knew everyone. It was like one, great big family, unlike the Death Guard. When Maciv said there were no positions, he was right, the only real power the founding fathers had was respect from the others. Those in Maciv's squad had learned that when the white haired demon himself went to sleep, things were safe for the timebeing. Even so, Gin stood watch.

In Jethro's safehouse, there was alot of drinking and merryment, despite his slight size the assault-class man could hold ahuge amount of liquor. They did have the doors painted in strange pixelated designs, so nobody drunk was able to get ahold of the doorhandle if they did have the bright idea to head outside.

With Vice, the guild did what they pleased. From arm wrestling, to lifting a couple of weights, one couple even got a bit intiment upstairs, Vice himself sat at a table eating. Nothing too loud, but they were the ones who slept till three in the afternoon.

Amous and his group didn't go to sleep until later, but they were the quietest of the bunch. They all sat around the fireplace, Amous reading a book. They did eat, like real brothers do, cooking something over the fire and passing it around for everyone to have. Amous's party was probably the closest out of all of them.

When the sun rose, Maciv did as well. He woke one of his men and motioned for him to leave. In ten minutes, he would call Jethro and tell him to send one of his men back home. Ten minutes from then, Jethro would call Vice and tell him to send one of his men back home. The same with vice telling Amous, and amous would tell Maciv. They would get their whole guild back to the optometrics lab this way, quietly, efficiently, and unnoticed, all in about six hours.

Outcast woke late. She sat up and stretched. She sighed when she remembered where she was and how she got there. She noticed that it was quiet and went to find Maciv.

Just what did those new order guys have in store for them, a bomb? mass genocide? what was it? Enzo personally did not understand the hostility, was it that the new order halved the death guard's 'business' or just the clashing of two different major ideologies. He stood in front of Corei blank faced with dead eyes, contemplating all the theories that were running through his mind at that moment and most of it was just plain bullshit to him. He pulled back and straightened up a bit and shook his head lightly dispelling his thoughts. A hint of a smile and the general amusement in his eyes had appeared once more but not anything that noticeable, "you sure this guy is planning something...?" he enquired of the girl.

@Annabella

Corei was more than sure, the NO member had done more than just hint at it. She recalled the girl he had been stringing along, battered and bloodied. She hadn't seemed as if she belonged, NO members didn't often spare a glance towards their fallen comrades. "He had a girl with him and I don't believe she was an NO member, she wasn't a DG member either so she was an outcast... what would the NO want with a crippled outcast?"

@Griffin

Maciv was sitting in front of the television. The reporter was standing in front of the building he had burnt to the ground last night. That was one of the stories on every channel. The other one was about a seeming mass murder. None of the victims seemed to have anything in common. 'Except the fact that they were wanted. But they don't know that.' Maciv thought. Then with a slight bob of his head, 'And the fact that they are no longer alive.' Stitches was already gone, off to the optometrics lab. He was actually a doctor, so it made sense that he would go first. Maciv noticed outcast had awoken. "Good morning." He said softly, eyes still affixed to the 8:00 news.

"If she had something that was useful...information maybe. I don't see why they'd keep a rouge around." he said lightly, "well I think you and I actually have some business to attend to, starting with this outcast...? She's obviously in the care of Maciv from what you've told me, soooo this isn't going to be easy." Of course it would not be easy, but they did need to get access to this girl IF she did have any info that was important or worth knowing. Was just deciding to move in on new order territory a bit of a rash decision, well yes it was and this was quiet a decision for enzo to make on his own. He was usually a very exacting and particular person but after what had happened the night before with Corei, he shook his head in remorse, the guard would not want them out for some time. "listen I know your leg has been busted up pretty badly, but I do need your help with this, you know exactly where they are, no?"

@Annabella

Outcast sat and watched the news. she watched quietly and inwardly sighed. "well, seems like everything went according to plan last night." she commented.

Maciv nodded, checking his watch. "Running into a rouge who had her house blown up wasn't in the plan, but it seems to have worked out well." He touched his ear, Amous had just recieved word that his man had made it to base safely. He waved a hand at Gin. "Time to go. Thanks for keeping watch, don't fall asleep on the way there." Gin smirked, taking off her mask and sticking it under her shirt. "I'll be fine, you worry too much." She said with a flirtatious wink. She left and Maciv wiped his face. "Jethro's going hime next," He said to outcast, "This is always the most nerve racking part." He sat back in his chair. "Wether or not they make it... Wether or not they come back... Oh that reminds me." He took an earpiece out of his pocket and tossed it to her. "Stick that in. Good stuff. Don't use it unless you absolutely need to. Anything that anybody says can be heard on all of them. We all have one."

Corei decided that rash decisions were part of her specialty, she had been particularly terrible at having an ounce of common sense when it came to precarious situations and had channeled that into her brief climb to the top within the DG organization, as long as her decisions saved lives and postponed the inevitable she was good as gold.

Her last one hadn't gone well and frankly, she knew this one would either backfire or miraculously work or kill her and Lorenzo both. Funny how that worked.

"I have been shot before so I think I can deal with the pain, if we're venturing into NO territory we are going to have to be as stealthy as possible. I don't know how skilled their newest members are and I wouldn't want to be injured, can you get on board with that? I can lead you there and we can figure out what we're going to do about the big bad Maciv."

@Griffin

Outcast listened and nodded. she looked the earpiece over before putting it in. She smiled slightly to herself, actually glad to be included in something and forgetting how much she disliked Maciv. She relaxed slightly.

After awhile, Maciv and outcast were the only ones left in the safehouse. He stood up, cracking his knuckles. "We're going together. I'm going to give you some glasses. They're more like goggles really." He held out a dark pair of large sunglasses and a cane. "You won't be able to see with these on. So i'm also giving you a cane. The story is if we run into anyone who asks too many questions, that you're my blind sister and I'm taking you to the eye doctor to try to fix your eyes." Maciv ran a hand through his hair and took the door bar off. "Ready?"

Outcast held in a sigh and nodded. she held the cane and put the googles on. Why do I have to be the blind one. oh, that's because i'm not trusted and we need to look normal. two birds with one stone really. She thought to herself.

A wide grin spread across his face, he was completely surprised at her tolerance to pain, a bullet wound to be exact, the only reason he would ever resist the pain was due to some machismo complex he had. "Guess I'm not the only twisted individual here, huh?" he mocked her playfully, before addressing the situation again, "do you need time for preparation before we leave? maybe clean up a bit more, make sure you've got everything you need." he jabbed her in the shoulder, "But you should know I won't be seen with just girl Corei, "he flashed her another grin, "gotta bring your A game." If they were going to do this they would have to able to rely on each others ability, flaws and strengths. Well as long as they were both on board there wasn't anything to worry about, they both know what they are dealing with.

Maciv recieved the go from Amon by earpiece. Outcast should have been able to hear it through hers as well. Maciv led her out the door and locked up. "Just give me your arm." he said, holding out his. "The part where you can't see is more for you than for us. Once we get there you'll be able to guess where we are pretty fast." Maciv explained, leading her down the street at a leisurely pace, "It's metaphorical really. You're supposed to show that you trust the person guiding you. Those who resist we know we can't trust. But you seem to be taking this all quite well." He kicked a stray pebble out of his way as they walked. "The fact that the people don't know this is part of our initiation adds to the 'are they going to kill me' effect. It also helps us gauge how the new ones react to fear."

"I'm not scared. I trust you enough not to lead me off a cliff. plus it'd be pretty useless to kill me now. but not being able to see anything concerns me slightly." Outcast said holding onto his arm as they walked. she didn't like feeling vulnerable and weak. it made her angry. she kept her anger to herself.

Maciv nodded. "That's the point. You're taking it like a champ. Rational thought and boldness is what makes up the backbone of our society. We're going to take a left here." They did, and they were right in front of the optometrics laboratory. He opened the door and ushered her inside. "Don't take them off yet," He said, saying directions as they went, "We're going to go through this hallway... Up the stairs... And here we are." He had led her to a room on the second floor where Amous, Vice, and Jethro sat at a table, the one they were usually at. Jethro smirked, he had parts of his gun on the table, in the process of cleaning it. "Well lookie here," He smirked, "What did you bring us?" Amous said nothing, but smiled nonetheless, and Vice, like always, payed no attention to anything other than a particular spot on the table.

Outcast heard the voice. She could hear the smirk in his words and almost shuddered. She really didn't want to see the smirk on the face of the person speaking, she really didn't. "Can I take them off now?" She asks even though she didn't want to. She was determined not to let her emotion seep into her voice and knew she'd succeeded.

Jethro shook his head. "No. We're going to have you lay down in a chair and lazer-melt them to your face, Haha." Maciv stepped behing him and clapped him on his bandaged shoulder playfully. Jethro winced. "Heard you got shot." He said quietly. Amous waved his hands at the duo. "Now now, let's not get rowdy, we don;t want to scare the young one." He elbowed Vice. Vice grunted once and replied with "Welcome to the guild." Maciv bobbed his head. "Of course you can take them off. Feel free to look around the building a bit."

Outcast took the goggles off and blinked a few times. she glanced around, analyzing the room before she did anything. she took in every detail and looked at the others, one by one. She already knew their names. there was one in particular that she disliked. she purposely avoided looking at Jethro. "For the record. The DG has a terrible headquarters. It always smelled of garbage there."

Maciv nodded. "We know." Amous raised is hands in a 'well' gesture. "You don't see us living in a hole in the ground. And you also don't see us without any cover." Vice reached a beefy hand over and ruffled Amous's hair. "This one handles everything financial, including the paperwork for our marks. He's got everything under control, to the outside world we're just a place for eye doctors." Amous beamed. "Yea. Our eye doctors 'own' the safehouses that we all stayed in last night. All things that happen anywhere withing two blocks of all our agents can be explained, alibi's, families, backstories, clean, non criminal pasts..." Maciv waved a hand dismissively. "Let's not bore her with the details." He turned to outcast. "If you would like me to introduce you to some of the others I can. If not me, ask Gin. She's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but she's nice to almost anyone."

Outcast didn't like Gin. She just didn't. She wasn't sure why but something about the girl irked her. She'd have much rather have Maciv introduce her to the others but she didn't want to seem clingy. She shrugged. "If you're busy I'm sure I can manage."

Jethro laughed. "Man, you really need to teach her how we do things around here." Amous gibslapped Jethro. "Hey, she didn't help make the guidelines, she doesn't know." Maciv sighed. "Allright, let me give you a tour. I'll explain things on the way." Vice cracked his knuckles. "Gone soft Maciv? She has to ask, you know that." Maciv bobbed his head. "Allright." he turned to outcast. "Ask me to show you around."

Outcast forced herself not to roll her eyes. Her respect for Maciv was plummeting quickly. "Would you Please show me around?" she stressed the word please slightly. not so much as to be disrespectful but just enough to give the hint that she didn't like how things worked here. She looked at Maciv trying to keep her emotions from showing, not that it was too difficult.
