Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Doesnt take you long to bounce back." He shrugged, "You're a quick healer."

"I use medicine," Anna rolled her eyes. She was quiet for a moment, before she spoke up again, "Do you think we'll ever get along like Jack and Vera?" Whenever she saw those two together, they always seemed to be having fun. It was so easy for them to talk to each other, to touch each other, they enjoyed it!

"I'm sure we will, yea. But it won't be exactly the same.. we aren't them," He replied, "We will but in our own style I mean."

"Hmm," Anna thought for a bit before she rolled over to face Roan. "Do we even have a style?"

Roan thought for a moment, "We push each other's limits a lot.. I dont know it's its a style but it's something we do."

"Eh," Anna shrugged, "I... kinda liked how you talked when you were angry... back at the old place..."

"Yea? Hw come?" He asked. He hadn't known she liked it. In his eyes, he had been unreasonable and out of line. Why would she want him to sanp at her?

"It was... I liked it," Anna shrugged, "You took charge, you made decisions and didn't take any shit."

"Well, I'm glad you liked it, but I dont want to make a habit of it. I don't want it to turn from something exciting for you, to something bad," Roan replied, "But I think I can do it more often."

Anna made a little so-so gesture, "That's not my point." She took Roan's hand and put his palm over her chest, "I feel like our relationship is just warm bodies sleeping next to each other, and..." She looked Roan in the eyes and sighed a bit, "I... I just wish I knew where to go from here. I don't know what we're doing, and you haven't really taken charge, either."

Roan hummed a bit, rubbing Anna's back, "I dont want to move as quickly as Jack and Vera. I dont really know the first thing about relationships, but I do know that I just want to be able to love and take care of you. "

"I wont let that happen," He replied, kissing her head, "I'll never leave you behind."

"That's not what I mean," Anna closed her eyes for a bit, trying to figure out how to say what she wanted. "We don't have to move as fast as Jack and Vera, but... I don't want us to just sit."

"We won't." He wasn't sure. Deep down, he didn't know what else to do. What did people do in relationships? What did Jack and Vera do? That was the only couple he's ever seen. Maybe Roan could ask Jack for advice.

"How do you know?" Anna shook her head, "We haven't done... anything since we got stormed in together."

"Well, we don't have much to go one to even know what couples do.. so it's just a learning process," He replied, "But I will figure it out..."

"Mmnn," Anna was disappointed, but clearly no more progress would be made. "What time is it?"

"I can step outside and take a look," He offered, moving to get up. As Roan looked outside, he noticed Meatloaf laying belly up by their door, "Good morning, Meatloaf."

It was still early morning, and Meatloaf was trying to warm up. If not for the chill rolling off the ocean that seemed to have followed Jack and Vera from the icy north, this would be a time they'd be out getting to work on things. Right now, though...

"It's cold," Anna grumbled, wrapping herself in the covers for warmth.

Roan took a look around before stepping back inside, "Looks about early morning. It's really cold out there."

He made his way to start a fire for them before laying back down with Anna, "Lets stay in and keep warm for a while."

"Hmm," Anna sighed and leaned into Roan, enjoying his warmth while the fire replenished what opening the door had taken away.

Roan placed a kiss onto her head, his arms holding her close. I'm sorry I disappointed you. I will fo better. I dont know how yet but I'll figure it out.

It took most of the day for the sun to burn away the chill. It was still a bit nippy out, but it wasn't too bad. Normally at this time of day, the sun would be too hot to work in this area, but because of the nip, it was alright. Now they could leave their huts and work in the few hours of daylight they had left. Jack wasted no time going and getting to work on killing the seemingly endless supply of trikes, ankies, and stegos on the island with Nike to harvest keratin to make the improvised saddles for the two argies they hadn't named, while Anna worked to process the metal the anky had collected yesterday.

While the others worked on killing dinos or smelting metal, Roan worked on the saddles for the argies. He could have sworn they had finished the harnesses before they died, but it seemed he didn't have the engram for the harnesses.

In the meantime, Vera found herself getting other resources to build with and feed their dinosaurs with.
