Vera purred, a bit moving to lay beside him. The feeling of the larger man's arms around her and warm skin touching the area's between the pieces of armor were enough to make the smaller woman feel warm and kind of special.

Roan, having woken up just moments prior, opened the door for Anna, "Hey."

Smiling, Jack laid down next to Vera, tracing out the stitching in her tunic with his finger. "Is that a yes?" He rather liked the idea of living with Vera, when they got along.

"Hey," Anna looked down at her implants, "Is it normal to not get engrams every day?"

Vera hummed with a soft giggle, "Are you asking me to live with you?"

"Oh, yea, Jack and I have had plenty of.days without any," he answered, "The higher level you get the slower you get points, I've learned."

"If you want," Jack smiled and gestured to the loft, "You and Anna put it best, a lot of space here for just me."

"Huh," Anna sounded disappointed with that answer. She'd been relying on the engram alert to wake her up early so she could be productive. "Guess I need an alarm clock now,." She shook her head, "Have you seen Jack and Vera anywhere?" Janus was loose, and the baby raptors were with their mothers, so she knew they'd come out of their homes, and Vera wasn't home, but they also hadn't taken any mounts if they'd gone exploring.

"It would be nice." She said, "And we could do this as often as we want."

"No, but I havent really left my hut today," He answered, "Why?

"Mm-hm, whenever we want," he smiled and laid back on the bed, looking up at the ceiling, "Walls are thick, it's never cold in here, either, I know that's been bothering you." If the forges were burning and the fireplace going at the same time it could be rather sweltering, actually, Lil' Chicken and Janus had been quite eager to get out and cool off when he did a test burn while they were still fighting.

Anna gestured to the loose Janus and raptor babies, "When are those three without Jack or Vera?"

"That does sound nice," She hummed, moving to rest her head on Jack's chest. Her hand rested on his abdomen, her leg hooked around his.

Roan looked around and hummed, "Weird.. did you try their houses?"

Jack sure hoped it would be nice. His hand dwarfed hers on his stomach, he felt like he could lie here forever, watching her head rise and fall with his breathing as he stroked her hair. "As long as you don't mind sharing with Janus," he said with a smile.

"I tried Vera's," Anna shook her head, "If she isn't out, she's dead."

 

[Silverwings]

"I think I can live with that," She said. The hand in her hair was rather soothing. She smiled and closed her eyes, "This is nice.."

"We could check Jack's place.," He suggested.

"Hmm," Jack sighed, settling comfortably with Vera. They had things they needed to be doing today, but that could probably wait until tomorrow.

"By all means," after how he was behaving last night Anna was fine with letting him stew if that was where he was.

Roan led the way to Jack's place and knocked on the door, "Jack, you in?"

Vera giggled, "Should we answer them?"

Jack groaned, he was comfortable! "I guess we have to." He untangled himself from Vera as he got up, giving her a pat on the thigh and a smile as he scooted off of the bed. Roan and Anna could hear movement upstairs and then footsteps inside as Jack came to the door to answer it, "Somehing happen?", he asked. There was a change to his tag. It still read "Jack", but above his name and the number that showed what level Engrams he could unlock, there was a pink heart, like the dinosaurs when they were mate-boosted.

"Have you seen-" Roan was caught off guard by the hearts by his name, "Vera.... whats that?"

 

[Darkling0096]

"Oh, Vera's upstairs?", Jack looked up, but he couldn't see his own tag, but the sleeping loft was directly above where they were standing, "What's what?"

"You've got a mate heart over your head," Anna pointed at the tag, "How'd you get that?"

"I don't know?", Jack barely understood what that meant. Animals got it from just being in proximity to other members of their species of the opposite sex, but he, Roan, Vera, and Anna had been in proximity of other humans of the opposite sex for a while now.

Roan smirked, "Vera's upstairs huh? You two must be really getting along, to get the mate boost."

"Hey!", Jack protested, feeling heat rise to his face as he turned a few shades redder.

"I'm surprised you two are getting along at all," Anna rolled her eyes, "Whatever, I don't care." If that was what Jack and Vera wanted to do with their time, that was fine. But at the moment it was the group's time. "We've got stuff to do today, remember?"

"Yea, going beacon hunting, remember?" Roan agreed, "So you two love birds come on."

Jack sighed, that wasn't going to be lived down, "Vera?", he called upstairs, "Come downstairs."

"We've gotta make the saddle harnesses, don't we?", Anna pointed out to Roan, "That's why I wanted to wake up early, but the implant didn't wake me up in time."

 

[Silverwings]

Vera sighed and made her way down to him, noticing the hearts. She smiled, "Oh, look at that. "

"Well, we can start that now, if you like, but we.already have a late start.." Roan reminded, "We can take the raptors and wolves for now."

Anna sighed, looking at the sun, "You're right." She looked around at the camp, "Alright, we'll take the raptors and Janus," she looked at Roan, "You mind holding the fort down?"

"Actually," Jack interjected, "I made an anky saddle yesterday, see if you can tame one."

"Sounds good," Anna nodded, "Gear up, light travel, we're not fighting today."

Vera looked at the four of them, "Who all is going then?"

 

[Darkling0096]

"Roan already has an amulet," Anna pointed at herself, Jack, and Vera, "So we three are gonna head out and search for purple drops. Travel light so you can carry anything interesting you find in them, but we're searching for respawn medals." Then she explained they might end up splitting up, so make a flare gun to call for help if something happens.

"Okay," Jack nodded. Travel light was also an excuse to find something besides stiff hide to wear, "I'll start on the flare guns if you guys will get the mounts ready." Janus had her harness taken off when Jack wasn't riding her, it caught on things inside the house and made sleeping a pain, and Anna took the saddle off of her raptors when they weren't being ridden because she'd found Thunder scratching at it the other day.

"We can handle that."

 

[Silverwings]

Vera nodded, waiting for the other two to wander off to kiss Jack's cheek before she would go do her own preparation for the trip. She giggled as she walked away, going to put saddles on the raptors and clean her inventory out to carrying things. Meanwhile, Roan made use of his time working on the saddles for the birds, seeing as he had some free time.

Anna made a face once Jack and Vera weren't looking at her.

Jack went back inside and went to work on flare guns, and some fiber clothing for something lighter to wear.

When everyone was gearing up to go, Jack handed out his wares, a set of cloth armor for everyone, and three flare guns to each of the other humans. "If you get in trouble, fire straight up and we'll come running," he explained, "I'd color code 'em but I haven't figured out how."

"Well, hopefully we won't have multiple going off at once," Vera said as she took the flare guns offered, "Hopefully, we won't have to use them at all."
