Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"There's hidden spaces, too, found one on accident." That sounded weird, but it was true. Jack genuinely didn't realize he could use the space under the stairs for anything until he accidentally knocked a part of the wall in. There was a pile of bedding and bones there for Janus, but it didn't look used. The bottom floor was mostly stone, two of the walls bulged outwards in little trapezoid-shaped sections, where Jack had a bunch of refining forges lining one wall, some preserving bins, cooking pots, and a campfire on the other, with a smithy against the front wall. There was a table and chair in the middle, which was covered in mortar and pestles. "I, uh, started building when we got mad yesterday," he said sheepishly, "I know you guys need a workshop, but..."

"Yeah," Jack scratched the back of his head, "Do you wanna see the upstairs?" Upstairs it switched from stone to wood, as seen on the outside, and was mostly filled with storage boxes and a fireplace to keep the area warm if the six forges, campfire, and cooking pots downstairs couldn't do it. It didn't even look like there was a place to sleep until he opened the door to the loft that hung over the porch, which was pretty small, just a pair of beds sitting next to each other with sleeping bags on them taking up most of the space. "Janus takes up a lot of space," he mumbled. He'd started with a plan, and then she commented on his building and now he didn't know what to do.

"Its kind of nice. I like it," Vera said, "Kind of sweet that you cuddle with Janus."

She giggled a bit at the idea that the big dog would snuggle up with the big oaf that was Jack. There was something sweet about it.

"She doesn't give me a choice," Jack shook his head. Downstairs they could hear scrabbling as the dire wolf came inside a bit faster than she realized and slid on the smooth stones of the floor. "And I can't do anything about her claws." The dog found them upstairs and sat down, tail wagging and tongue hanging out of her mouth, she wanted a treat.

Vera giggled again, "Awww, look at the big happy smile. She's adorable."

Jack smirked as he walked to one of the crates that was out of Janus's reach and came back over with some dried meat. "Here you go," he tossed the meat into the air, the wolf caught it and padded away downstairs with her prize. Jack rolled his eyes, Janus was a simple creature, "I'll go close the door." He headed downstairs, leaving Vera upstairs.

Vera giggles, staying put to let Jack do what he needed to do. Then she remembered why they were in his house to begin with, making her blush again, "Oh.. right..."

Jack came back upstairs after a bit, having closed and locked both doors and both downstairs windows so no one would walk in and embarass them. he wasn't sure why it would be embarrasing to be caught doing what they were doing, but it seemed to fluster Vera and Roan seemed to think it was something that might be an issue. "Okay, then," he nodded and rubbed his hands together before taking off his gloves. "No one's gonna bother us for a while." He looked a little sheepish as he walked over, "How do you want to do this?"

"I... I dont know," She answered nervously, "um... I guess just... do it?"

"O-kay." Jack let out a breath and put his arms around Vera, "Ready?" He gave Vera a few seconds before beginning. Squish.

Vera let out a small gadp, hiding her face on the man's chest. She didn't understand why she felt so flustered yet excited by something so... dumb.

"Nng!", Jack grunted in surprise, "I'm not hurting you, am I?" He was trying not to, but she was a lot smaller than he was.

"Okay," Jack smiled at Vera and moved position of his hands so he could get a better look at her. In the light of the torches, a bit flustered and close to him, she looked a bit different, more... For once a random word that happened to fit in the sentence didn't appear in Jack's head to be used. "I'm going to try something," he said, pushing her a bit off of him so he could lean down to do what he thought he should in that moment. Jack leaned down so his face was close to Vera's, put his lips to hers, and kissed her. It wasn't a very delicate affair, inexperience being what it was, but it seemed the thing to do.

Vera blushed a bit, kissing him back. It wasn't experienced by any means, but it was... nice. She couldn't help the instinct that came to her, telling her to wrap her arms around his shoulders. She really didn't mind this experiment.

Jack took that as a sign of approval. Her lips were soft, too, he wondered where else was soft. "Mm," he moved his hands down to her thighs to lift her up. He had the vaguest feeling that he should probably be carrying her to a couch, but he didn't know what that was. He assumed it was soft and comfortable to sit and lie on, and his bed fit that description. So that was where he went with her, up the short miniature staircase to the sleeping loft.

Vera giggled a bit at being carried up the stairs, her hands finding their way into his hair. She purred a bit, feeling excited about this new thing they had discovered. It wasn't a thing that was.. helpful or productive. But it was pleasant.

"This is fun," Jack chuckled as he laid Vera down on the bed, this was new. He wasn't really sure what exactly he and Vera were getting into, but it felt like he was doing it right. He didn't mind wasting a morning on this. And he had a better idea of why he enjoyed touching Vera. If you'd have told Jack after he and Vera fought yesterday that the next morning they'd be making out at his place, he'd have laughed at you, and probably thrown a large stone at your head. This morning it was like yesterday didn't happen, replaced instead by this encounter.

"You are so beautiful," and Vera was. In the morning light coming in through the window of the sleeping loft, illuminating her hair like an inferno splaying out from her head, framing a pair of piercing blue eyes on a background of sun-kissed skin. In that moment, beautiful was one of three words that came to mind, and he didn't know the definitions of the other two.

"I kind of like it," Vera admitted, cupping Jack's cheek. His eyes, in the morning light were the beautiful dark shade of untouched field. It was mesmerizing to her. If she could manage to look past that, and she did, she would giggle a bit as the messy chopped up dark hair. And finally, his tanned skin highlighted the muscled arms that had lifted her moments earlier. She enjoyed the idea of those arms around her as they were before.

Jack sighed and leaned into Vera's hand, "I like it too." Being the one on top, Jack had to use his arms to support the weight of his torso over Vera, so he couldn't scoop her up like he wanted to. He leaned down to rest his forehead against Vera's, "Think they're gonna look for us?"

"They might," She giggled, leaning in to kiss again. She liked the way he towered over her. Where normally she would feel trapped, having his arms around her made her feel safe. She smiled, pressing their lips together again before speaking, "I dont think they'll find us here, though."

"Maybe," Jack smiled into the kiss as he sank down lower to put an arm under her, "I don't think they can get in, anyway." He smiled before sitting up, and pulling her with him, so they were both upright on their knees, "We should to this more often," he grinned as his hands found their way back down to rear. He couldn't even imagine why they were fighting over this yesterday.

Vera nodded, blushing a bit as she placed another kiss on his lips. She really enjoyed that, "I think I can agree to that."

She gasped a bit at the hands on her rear before giggling again. There was a world for how she felt in this moment but she couldn't really place it.

Jack couldn't help but smile at Vera, "Well," he nodded down at the bed they were straddling, "There's room for two." The longer they were doing what they were doing, the more acutely aware Jack was becoming of how hide armor affected his ability to feel Vera through the leather. So far the group had pretty much lived in hide, it was the strongest defense they had against dinosaurs, but they were always doing their best to avoid dinos, so did they really need such thick and stiff clothing?

Down in the other houses, Anna yawned as she woke up, looking out the window to see the sun approaching midday. She frowned, why hadn't the implant woken her up? She looked down at her implant and found no engrams or points. Why was that? Normally they found engrams every day, or at least she and Vera did. She poked her head outside to see if anyone else was awake, and see if they knew what was happening either, but she couldn't see anyone. Janus was running around with Meatloaf, so Jack was awake at least, that dog couldn't open doors. But she didn't see the giant anywhere. "What's going on?" She shook her head and left to go knock on doors. She knocked on Vera's door for a bit, but she wasn't in, or she slept like a corpse. Shaking her head, she went to try Roan's next.
