Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Yep," Jack scooped the berry paste onto small plates, "I think they need to wake up." He looked at the other two houses.

Jack nodded and handed her a plate of berry paste, "Here you go." It was a bit like fruit jelly, but a bit more pasty like oatmeal.

Vera took the plate and started eating, "So we're medallion hunting today..."

"Purple crates," Jack nodded, "If they let us reappear when we die, that'll take some of the risk out of doing stuff."

Jack thought about what that could accomplish, aside from not dying. "Be good for exploring, maybe." If they could find a painless way to die, someone could take a throwaway dinosaur like a parasaur and just run into the woods exploring. Run into trouble, find a cliff or a way to off yourself, and the medallion would put you back in bed, if it did what Roan had said it did.

Jack nodded, but short of not dying he couldn't really think of another use for that thing. "I guess we'll see if anything comes up when we get them." He shrugged and kept eating. One he finished eating, he put the bowl away and just watched cookfire for a bit. He frowned, trying to work something out in his head, looking down at his hands every so often.

"You ok, Jack?" Vera asked. She could see the gears turning in his head and wanted to try and offer a solution.

Jack fronwed as he looked up at Vera, "Do you ever like doing something and you've got no clue why you like it?"

"Wha- oh.." She sounded. She blushed a bit. She enjoyed it a little bit too but she couldn't really explain the funny feeling it gave her. Between the strange feeling of butterflies in her stomach and something... more... downstairs, she wasn't quite sure how to feel about it.

Jack looked back down at his hands, then back up at Vera. He didn't have an explanation either, that was why he asked. In many ways this group was like small children in adult bodies. They knew what they were doing, but they had no advanced knowledge of what things actually meant until after they'd dealt with it for a while. Sure they looked like they'd finished school, if they lived in a civilized world, but they'd all been thrust onto a beach with no explanations, playing by ear for survival.

"Hmm," Jack frowned at his hands then looked up at Vera again, "Could we do it again?" He asked it the same way a child would ask if they could go outside. He knew it was a thing that could be done, and he knew he liked doing it, but if he was asked to explain why he did not have an answer.

Jack nodded as he stood from the bench, "Are you okay?", her voice sounded shaky, and she was turning red. If she was sick she should probably lie down.

"Alright," if she said she was fine, she was probably fine. He looked around, if she was embarrassed, there was probably something else to this he didn't realize. "We can go inside, if you want."

Jack nodded and lead the way over to his structure. Something about making special arrangements for what he'd thought a few moments ago was just an enjoyable interaction made it seem like a secret, and for some reason that made it more exciting. He opened the door, and bowed in an attempt to be fancy about this clandestine operation, "Milady."

Vera giggled a bit at Jack's antics as she stepped inside the building, "Wow, it looks so much bigger inside..."
