Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Yeah," Anna nodded, "But for now, we've gotta eat more than we need a bronto." She took aim with her crossbow and fired, sending the raptors to go about between the bronto's legs trying to spill its guts and dodge its powerful tail.

Both Roan and Vera joined in the fight, shooting as rapidly as they could. It took some time, but that after a while, and with some injuries to the raptors, the bronco finally died. The raptors were more than happy to devour the thing, taking all of the meat as quickly at the beast had dropped to the ground.

"Whoo!" Anna whooped when the beast finally fell, before running to see on the raptors how much meat and hide had been collected. A great deal of meat had been collected, that bronto more than stocked their food supply for a couple weeks at the rate they'd been going. "So now we go after fur, right"

They'd have to get the raptors back to camp to unload before going hunting, Anna nodded at that, "Let's head back, then."

Roan nodded, leading the way, Vera and Anna behind him. Once returned, Roan called out, "Easy meat. We got plenty."

"Nice!", Jack had already taken down most of the camp, and moved the preserving bin over to where the rest of the storage was, laying foundations down in the shapes of soon to be houses. As requested by Roan, Anna, and Vera, there were a few small foundations, two-by-two squares. And then there was a much larger one that Jack was still laying out. About the only complete structure was a small kennel where Meatloaf was now curled up.

Jack raised an eyebrow and went over to the bin where the meat was being stored. He whistled when he saw the stacks. "Wow." He looked in one of the raptors inventory and found so much more meat, "I guess I'll make a couple more preserving bins?"

"Good idea," Anna chuckled, "We'll be bringing more back later, we're going after pelts further north."

"Yea, probably a good idea," Roan nodded as he unloaded his raptors inventory into a storage bin.

Jack nodded and went to get materials to do that, good thing they made a bunch of sparkpowder to keep the bin running, so they could definitely afford the resources to keep extra bins running. Once those were built, and Jack could place them to start moving meat into them, the raptors were unloaded and the meat distributed. "Well, you guys have fun chaing pelt," Jack nodded at the trio.

"Will do," Anna smiled as she climbed back onto Occisor. "How's the raptor eggs?" Jack pointed at where Gaia and Cherry were crouched over their eggs and watching him like a hawk.

"If Manny wasn't here they'd be eating me."

Jack shook his head, "Everytime I pass by those two are growling at me."

"Dude you suck at this," Anna commented.

"Theyre just protecting their eggs," Vera giggled. Roan chuckled, "I guess just dont touch the eggs?"

"Well, leave them be until they hatch," Roan said, leading the way out of the area.

"Noted," Jack shrugged and got back to work once everyone was gone.

"Leaving him with the raptors was a bad idea," Anna decided, "What do you think he did to piss them off?"

" Honestly, I'm sure its just them protecting their young," Vera commented. Meanwhile at camp, Meatloaf stood on hind legs, front feet on the fence that kept her from roaming. She grunted and cooed at Jack as if to tell him she was stuck.

Anna smirked, "Well, let's focus on these petls first, we'll deal with the raptors later." Coming up closer to the northern area, avoiding the daily battle between argies, raptors, and the fate of a handful of pachies, they came around to see a wooly rhino grazing on the hoarfrost-coated plants in the area.

'What is it?", Jack glanced back at Meatloaf between putting walls and pillars down. "You hungry?"

Roan watches the rhino, "Looks easy enough."

Meatloaf seemed to dance a bit, trying to climb over the fence. Unfortunately her legs were too short to get her far enough up to climb it.

"Yeah, you'd think," Anna nodded, "Looks like it works the same as the trikes. Stay behind it and take cover." She got off of Occisor and whistled. "We should probably keep the raptors from harvesting the corpse, I notice they get more meat than hide."

Jack shook his head at Meatloaf's antics and went to open the double-door to Meatloaf's kennel, "What do you need?"

"How do we do that?" Vera asked.

Meatloaf, upon the door opening, happily waddled up to Jack, heading for the open door.

"I don't know," Anna shrugged, looking at the raptor, "I think you might be able to- Oh," a wheel popped up on Occisor's menu, "Behavior, I didn't know we could regulate that, Disable gathering.' She shrugged and turned that setting on, "I guess we can tell them not to gather."

"What is it? I'm busy," Jack looked around and reached for some berries to give the moschops.

Roan and Vera did the same, setting the raptors to disable gathering, "Great. Lets go then."

Meatloaf ignored the berries, happily waddling out the door to go play.

Anna nodded and whistled for the raptors' attention, pointing at the rhino before she climbed onto a rock for protection from that horn. "Make it rain," she quipped as she took aim and fired.

Jack sighed and tossed the berries away, "I can't play right now." He shook his head and decided to focus on building at the moment. The small houses had the least amount of resources invested in them, so he focused on them and started putting walls up on the little two-by-twos.
