Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Do we even know how to take care of them?" Presumably the raptors would be able to, but Anna wasn't sure.

"I dont think we would have to in the wild," Vera thought aloud, "Maybe we dont need to?"

Anna shrugged, starting to move food to plates. These campfires were pretty good at cooking meat quickly, even if they couldn't cook a lot at once. "Do you think maybe we could make something to cook a lot of meat at once?", she asked as she went to knock on the other hut and wake the guys.

"Like... " Vera trailed off, unable to imagine anything to do such a thing, "I got nothing."

With the girls talking outside, Roan found it harder to sleep and got up, "I'm so tired.."

"Hey, get up," Anna knocked on the door, "Breakfast is ready!"

Jack threw a rock at the door ineffectually, trying to find an excuse to stay asleep. "Five more minutes."

Roan snorted and got up, letting his friend sleep as he made his way out, "Good morning."

Roan's eyes widened at the news, "They did? Thats great. More raptors!"

"What do you think Jack's gonna say?", Anna asked when she sat down with her own plate, passing one to Vera. She thought for a moment before giving her best impression of the giant, "More raptors means more mouths to feed and dinos to eat us when we're sleeping!"

Anna laughed and shook her head, "Anyway," she looked over at the preserving bin, "We've got our work cut out for us today, don't we?"

Roan nodded as he ate, "We sure do. But now we also have to watch those eggs."

Anna shrugged, "I mean, the raptors took care of their eggs in the wild, they can probably take care of it while we're out hunting."

"I mean maybe, but what if the babies are wild if we don't handle them?" Roan asked, "Or what is they wander off?

"If they wander off, then their parents will take care of them," Anna looked over at the raptors, "I'm more worried about Occisor eating them than anything else."

Roan looked at her, "Anna, if they wander off we have no guarantee that Gaia and Cherry will care for them at all."

Anna raised an eyebrow, "Roan, where do you think those five came from? They didn't fall from the sky, they had parents that raised them." She realized how stupid that sounded considering how the survivors came to be, "Unless they're like us."

"They might be, I havent seen any babies in the wild," He thought aloud after her comment.

Anna frowned and looked down, "We might not be able to take care of any babies right now," she realized, "We need the raptors to hunt, but if they're laying eggs they need to be with the hatchlings."

"We don't have a saddle," Anna frowned, "If we take the male raptors, we'll at least be sure they won't do anything to hurt the eggs."

The idea of Jack voluntarily caring for the eggs brought a smirk to Anna's face, "Think he might relax about the raptors doing that?"

Anna chuckled and went to put a plate for Jack in the preserving bin. "Well, let's just get ready and wake him up." She went over to the raptors to start moving all the saddles to the males, leaving Cherry and Gaia with their eggs. "You two behave," she warned the raptors.
