Fantasy Anything Goes

"We can still be friends, I just think it would be better if you were to say with him. And Mr. Renolds has lived here a long time there aren't a lot of things that surprise him. Trust me he lived through the sixties." Aileada smiled lightly.

"Trust her, it's easier said than done to try and scare him" replied Hunter "I actually shifted into a troll once to try and scare him and he just kept on his marry little way."

He raised an eyebrow at the sight of her wings, but he said nothing. At the mention of hurting someone, he immediately began to search his memory. Words, symbols, designs; a plethora of magical teachings, gleaned from little brother's letters and video chat sessions. He doubted the girl would harm him too seriously, but it was better to be safe than sorry. And so, the lycan stood in stone silence, awaiting the unknown.

Zodiac scoffed.

"Heh, I doubt. Have you seen what lies under all this? It'll give anyone nightmares. Trust me, this is probably the only nice thing I have done. I'll be your frickin dog if you want to."

Zodiac shifted into his dog form. A long glowing yellow glowing stripe ran down his black furry body as he jumped onto the counter.

"Call me Zodi, pet me."

His eyes widened and he shifted back into his humanoid form.

"Sorry, I'll just go..."

"I promise it won't hurt you," Victoria says. "I just..." Her voice trails off and the transformation continues. Her skin changes into glistening black scales and claws sprouts from her fingers. She growls in pain as her body shifts into that of a dragon. Once she has completely changed, she is easily the size of a house. She looks down at Jack and growls at him.

"hey Zodiac I might know a place you can crash" Hunter called out "there's an old house that no one lives in, at the west outskirts of town, it may not be what your looking for, but its something and it should still be in good condition."

At the sight of her transformation into what he clearly recognized to be a dragon, he clenched his jaw and began to think as rapidly as his mind could manage. "Well. That's interesting." He said as he locked eyes with the creature, staring back with unwaivering eyes. Different as they may be, they were both animals at heart, and he understood the rules well enough. With slow, deliberate motions, he laid his ears back and raised his hands, palms up, as a sign of peace.

Victoria eyes him suspiciously. She lowers her head so their eyes are even. She lets out another small growl and lays her wings flat against her back, not sure if she should accept his sign of peace.

"Out there, all alone, huh?" Zodiac headed for the door and gripped the knob. "All alone like I've always been? No thank you." Zodiac opened the door, stepped out, and slammed it closed hard enough the glass on the door cracked in a couple directions.

When zodiac left him at the cafe, Ronnie thought to himself"oh he's leaving? I'm going to regenerate alone again....great..."

He maintained eye contact with her, and did the only peaceful thing he could think of. He begain to hum a simple tune his mother had taught him as a child. It was an old song, but he still remembered a few of the words, and he hoped that if he'd ever been able to sing in his life, today was the day he could sing worth a damn. "Well mama told me, when I was young...." His voice was soft, and full of simple, humble country wisdom; a twinge of a southern American accent hinting on his words.

"He didn't let me finish, and he broke the door." He stated, as guilt started to wash over him "Hey, Aileada, I think I done messed up bad."

Aileada jumped at the slamming of the door. She examined the cracks in the glass. All sound seemed to sapped from the room. She lighted set her fingers to the cracks. "This could've been a bone,' she said. She didn't mean to ignore Hunter, but the cracks seemed to be screaming for attention. "Had he gotten mad enough.." She stopped and turned back to him. She processed what he said and shrugged. "I don't know honestly."

Victoria listens to his song. She lays her head down in front of him and closes her eyes. She felt...calm. It had been a long time since she had felt this way while she was a dragon.

Zodiac stared at the distorted image of the café though the broken glass, he clenched his fists and remembered something from his far past. His friend Trebuchet's voice.

Rejected again, huh? They really think you are a monster. Just like me

He looked up at Aileada through the door with his blank stare. He lashed out in a wild kick at the glass, near the bottom of the door, breaking it open. Zodiac pulled his hood over his head and walked down the sidewalk, to somewhere.

"Either way, the door needs to be fixed now, especially before old man Renolds gets back, and, uh you can let go of my hand now" Said Hunter motioning to their still connected hands then he heard glass shatter and his first instinct was to protect Aileada, so he held her close and took on most of the glass in his back, wincing slightly as it entered have his flesh

He continued singing, humming over the parts he couldn't remember. His voice began to crack a bit from talking so much, but he continued none the less. Normally, he didn't speak more than six sentences in a year, but today was nothing close to a normal day for him. "And be a simple kind of man. Oh, be something you love and understand. So baby, be a simple kind of man...." When he'd finished, he slowly reached out to touch her. "May I?" He inquired, not wanting to be rude. She seemed docile enough, but something told him to keep his wits about him regardless. This was a strange place, and he was not the only one with power here.

Aileada covered her head as the glass shattered. She had released Hunter at that point and looked at the hole in the glass. Slowly her green eyes trailed up to look at Zodiac. She watched as he pulled his hood up and walked away. She was speechless she had no idea what to say or even think at that point.

Victoria pulls away from him slightly, then gently touches her nose to his hand. She had enjoyed his song, and his company. Most people would have ran away if they had caught even a glimpse of her.

"W-what's his problem?" Asked Hunter with pain leaking into his voice from the glass embedded into his back.

Aileada looked back at Hunter, hearing the pain his voice. Aileada had only received minor cuts, but Hunter hadn't been as lucky. "Are you alright?" Carefully she set her hand on his shoulder, examining the glass that penetrated his skin.

"Yeah, I've had worse." He spoke with a forced smile failing miserably to hide the pain he was in right now.

He slowly touched his hand to the side of her nose and allowed a slow wave of warm energy to emanate fr within him. Gradually, the energy spread through his body, channeling from his palm to the surface of Victoria's skin. He dared not speak, his voice couldn't handle it at this point, but to think the words was just as well. He recited a bit of old Lycan magic he'd picked up somewhere, and continued to channel the soothing energy to her, radiating like a warm fire on a winyer's night. A single thought pierced his concentration, but only for a moment. Broken glass. A scythe. An apple. And a strange smell, something akin to lilacs and frost. The thought did not ripple outwards, and he shrugged it off before it even became a concious thought, but the images were there in the back of his mind.

Zodiac sat on the roof of a two-story building. Rage and sadness still burning in his chest. He held out his bandaged palm. The bandages were torn by a few haphazard shards of glass, leaving a black ooze to pool and stain the bandages on his hand. He ignored the bleeding and looked down. Spotting his own reflection in a puddle below. His delusion in the moment allowed him to perceive his reflection as Trebuchet.

'So what?' Said Trebuchet, crossing his wrists on his chest.

'A dumb redhead and some pretty-boy shapeshifter rejected your request. What's the big diff?'

Zodiac grunted and his delusion continued.

'I remember Arivale, You do too. You lost a lot of friends there, right? You were left alone. Helpless at the mercy of the untamed forgotten Earth.'

A dark liquid began to drip from between the crack of his mask and his chin, he nodded.

'Why don't you show them what's under the mask?'

Trebuchet tapped his helmet, the diagonal light nodes pulsating as he spoke.

Zodiac stood, nodding.

Trebuchet clasped his palms together in a sympathetic gesture.

'That's my little brother. Go get 'em, tiger. Show him what the Six Circles of Out can do.'
