Fantasy Anything Goes

Hunter moved to Zodiacs side as fast as he could to help the guy 'one day and this happens, ONE DAY!' he thought to himself

Aileada ducked at the surrounding sounds of something rushing past them and then there was a thud as a large piece of stone hit Zodiac. Her hands flew over her mouth as she watched everything happen as if she was a camera filming a movie instead of standing in the middle of it all. Her head spun and she struggled to keep a grip of her consciousness. But somehow after falling to her butt she looked around at all the other people.

Victoria had been thrown from the bike, but not near as far as the rider. She hits her head on the sidewalk and black spots appear in her vision. She blinks them away and takes a look around. There were so many people around. She was already weakened by her transformation and being thrown from the motorcycle only made it worse.

Hunter released a sigh and looked toward the sky which was starting to grow starry "why can't any day be normal?" He seemingly asked the sky

Trebuchet grabbed Zodiac's neck and heaved him up with one arm.

"If you killed that human girl, I woulda beaten yer ribcage until all of your organs were mush."

He dropped Zodiac, and stared down at him. Zodiac looked up at him with awe. As the way he was when he left Arivale, he wore that skinny but seemingly too advanced suit of armor for the current century. He still had the sand-colored scarf and hood, and his gray helmet.

Trebuchet pulled Zodiac to his feet and slapped his cut cheek.

"NEVER let your emotions go outta control, mate.'

Much to his chagrin, the bike had merely skidded and come to a halt beneath a tree. Victoria seemed to be rather dazed, but he could see no blood or obvious injures. With that settled, the lycan shook off his disorientation and stepped forward, and a deep-rooted power began to emanate from within him. Dropping the knife, he took another step forward, his gaze locked onto the flowing mass of flesh and limbs being slapped around by what looked to be a modern day knight. Any sign of humanity had fled from his eyes the moment he'd been ejected from the motorcycle, and someone was about to swallow alot of blood. With a deep, growling voice filled with primal ferocity, he spoke for what he dearly hoped would be the last time today, his words pointed directly at what Zodiac and his newfound attacker. "You wanna hurt people? Hurt me, then. Come. Let me teach you suffering."

Zodiac winced, and put on all of his gear back on, except the mask. Both him and Trebuchet turned at Lycan. Zodiac held up his palms in surrender, and Trebuchet summoned a collection of concrete chunks from the road.

"Aye, this Bloke don't have the composure or strength to fight, and I just AVERTED a fight. So drop yer weapons before I decide to cause an earthquake."

Shinu tilted his head in confusion. Cause an earthquake? Kill everyone in the process of stopping him? Because that would solve everything. Had he the sanity at the moment, the arrogance of the notion would've made him laugh. Instead, he simply glared at the stone wall and spoke a single word in an ancient language, and reduced the wall to dust with a whisper. "Your arrogance knows no bounds, your insolence knows no limits, and your misuse of power disgusts me. You wield power like an infant wields his father's pistol." He snarled through gritted teeth. "You two idiots have one of two choices. Kick my ass and continue your blatant disregard for the safety of others, or swallow alot of blood and possibly walk away from this with a learning experience carved into your foreheads. Take your pick and crack your knuckles, because in five seconds I'm coming over there and feeding both of you your entrails."

Victoria slowly gets to her feet. She stumbles and catches herself on a light pole. She touches her head gently and winces. She looks at her hand and her fingers are covered in blood.

Trebuchet turned his back and scoffed.

"Do ya really wanna fight in the presence of innocent people, aye? Well, fuck you and your 'words of wisdom.'"

The ground beneath Trebuchet and Zodiac seemingly collapsed.

A hole was briefly exposed, but it was quickly covered by a thick slab of hardened stone.

The wolf threw back his head and let out a hellish cry; a mixture of human screaming, animalistic snarling, and the howling of a beast that knew nothing but rage. Panting with anger and exhaustion, he slowly made his way to Victoria, gradually returning to normal with every step. His inner beast would slumber, for now. When he reached her, he knelt down and tenderly placed his finger against her forehead, tracing a strange symbol with her blood. In the blink of an eye, her wounds were healed, although the pain would linger a bit. Without a word he set the bike on its wheels, gathered his belongings, and offered his hand to Victoria. "I'll take you home." Was all he dared speak.

Victoria takes his hand and stands up. "I can give you a place to stay," she offers. "I don't have a spare bed, but I have a couch. Or you could always sleep in my room."

Zodiac hated Trebuchet's form of 'fast travel'. It was travelling through a network of Earth's intestines, that's what. Trebuchet also always hated unnecessary violence, especially when Zodiac causes it. Like two peas in a pod.

Zodiac rose, queasy and disoriented from the rocky hole he travelled through. Trebuchet steadied him with his hand and patted his back.

"Ya forgot this, Zodi."

Trebuchet held up Zodiac's mask. Beaten and covered with Zodiac's blood, but still his mask. Zodiac put the mask on, feeling the familiarity of his identity-concealer. Trebuchet held up a finger, and spoke.

"Now's the time ya give the wolf guy and that dragon girl an apology."

The faintest sign of a blush crossed his cheeks. Here she was, offering him shelter, and he didn't even have the guts to tell her his real name. But he knew better than to accept. The beast had already slipped through once, and the memory of the last house he'd destroyed still lingered in his memory. "I....I don't do well in houses. I'm sorry...." he offered, hoping she wouldn't be wounded by his pitiful excuse. He was a lone wolf, he'd been that way since he was a child. He saddled up and offered the girl the helmet from earlier, now decorated in scratches from the crash, and a pleading look in his eye.

"I insist," Victoria says as she takes the helmet. "It is the least I can do. If you had run away earlier, I probably would have destroyed someone's life... Or even taken it from them." She bites her lip. "Please."

Zodiac walked alone, to the town carrying two burlap bags in his bandaged arms. He spotted Victoria and Lycan. He sighed and spoke in a trembling, but firm voice,

"I am sorry for anything I might have caused or done. I just can't get ahold of myself sometimes...'

With a quiet sigh, he shrugged and tried to start the engine, but the bike wouldn't cooperate. Try as he might, he couldn't get the poor thing to crank. Before he could make a joking remark about bad days, he heard the voice of the stranger again. Out of pure reflex, and a drop of anger, he drew the pistol from its holster at the small of his back and pointed the barrel squarely between Zodiac's eyes; never once even looking up from the bike's cracked and battered speedometer. "Stay away from me. And stay away from my motorcycle." He said in a monotone voice as he dismounted the battered machine. With his gaze locked firmly on the boy, and both hands gripping the small semi-automatic with a white knuckle death grip, he slowly backed up a few paces. "Guess I'm staying with you after all. Bike's trashed." He said to Victoria, more than a little uneasy about the entire situation.

Victoria take a few steps towards him and carefully puts her hand over his, trying to get him to lower the gun. "Calm down," she says softly.

"...I understand." Zodiac slid the bags across the pavement to Lycan,

"They're precious minerals my brother Trebuchet collected. The Ruby is for Victoria, the emerald is for you, Lycan."

Zodiac curled his index and pointer finger onto his thumb and clenched a fist. With that fist, he beat it into his chest and bowed with his fist still rested on his collar. He waited for a response.

Slowly, and with effort, he lowered the pistol. He wasn't about to holster the thing, not yet anyway, but it was progress all the same. As Zodiac spoke, Shinu slowly holstered his pistol and began to unstrap his belongings, never taking his eyes off of the boy. A sixty pound survival bag, fifty two pounds of tools, and a twenty seven pound rifle bag; more than enough to keep him occupied. When he'd strapped everything to his body, he turned to Victoria and spoke the only sentence he had the energy to speak at the time. "So, which way is floor?" He said in a ragged voice.

Victoria approaches the bags Zodiac had given to them. She carefully picks them up and nods to Zodiac. "Thank you," she says and looks around. "You would do well to find somewhere to stay for the night. There's a motel just down the road." She points down the road and then goes to Jack's side. "My house isn't far from here," she says and starts to walk down the road, keeping the blanket he had given her wrapped around her body. It was beginning to get cold outside.

Zodiac felt the ground tremor as a hole formed behind him, Trebuchet stepping out holding a plush snake, for some odd reason and tapped Zodiac's shoulder.

"Heya, Zodi."

Zodiac growled. "Stop calling me that stupid pet name..."

Trebuchet playfully nudged Zodiac.

"Aw, just like when we were normal, eh?"

Zodiac sighed. "Yeah...when we were normal."

Zodiac turned and listened to Victoria's response. Zodiac bowed once more and walked up the street with Trebuchet.

"Hope we see eachother sometime again..." Zodiac waved and caught up with Trebuchet, who was spinning a circle of stones above his flat palm while holding the snake plush.

Despite the immense weight of the bags, he managed to keep up with Victoria easily enough. He was on the verge of lighting a cigarette when a tought crossed his mind. Did his smoking bother her? Would she let him smoke indoors? With these in mind, he plucked the cigarette from his lips and put it back into the crumpled packet, quietly tucking the box back into his pocket. It had certainly been an interesting day. An entire town full of different types of oddball, his bike was trashed, and he'd somehow managed to dent a brick wall without dying. An interesting day indeed. He followed the young lady, pondering the day's events as the walked.

After a few minutes, they arrive at Victoria's house. It was small and there was a front porch adorned with flowers in various pots. She pulls a key from one of the pots and unlocks the front door. "Welcome to my...utterly messy home," she says, suddenly realizing how much supplies she has scattered throughout her house. The living room was cluttered with different sized canvas, two easels, and boxes full of paints and brushes. "I'm really sorry about the mess."
