Fantasy Anything Goes

Victoria begins to shrink as the gentle warmth seeped into her skin and spread throughout her body. She covers herself with her wings and changes back into a human. She was left curled up on the ground. Her clothes had been torn from the change and they hung loosely on her, so she kept one of her wings wrapped around herself. "Thank you," she says, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Let's head back to my place that way we can clean and dress the wounds." Carefully she walked past the bits of broken and pushed open the broken door. The wind blew stronger in the fading afternoon light, sending goosebumps across her arms. She ignored the coldness nipping at her skin and helped Hunter down the sidewalk towards her apartment.

Without a word, he picked the girl up and leaned her against the cart, quickly adjusting everything so that she had room to sit. Something very inpleasant was about to happen, he could feel it in his bones. Which usually meant he had to hurt someone. Why wasn't he allowed to just be lazy today, like usual? As quickly as his fingers would move, he strapped his various bags to the back and the sides of the bike, covering Victoria in a thick blanket so she wouldn't be exposed to the wind. When all was prepared, he fired up the motorcycle and gunned the accelerator, racing for town as quickly as the old hog would run. Today was going to be such a headache...

Zodiac strode at full force. Pushing aside carts and baskets as he sped down the sidewalk at a blinding speed. He was in pursuit. Trebuchet was right, a little demonstration of his power would most likely change their minds about messing with a Shinigami ever again. He left a crude trail of black blood as he ran, thrusting his knees at full throttle. He saw two figures in the distance. He slowed his pace to a stop.

"Yeah, good idea" following her lead he noticed her get some goosebumps "here take my jacket" taking off his green jacket, wincing slightly at the disturbance to the glass, and put it around her shoulders.

Ronnie, freshly regenerated, looked around, disoriented. Like he has absolutely no idea where he's at. He looks around trying to see if he can remember anything

Victoria wraps the blanket around herself and closes her eyes. She was exhausted, but she couldn't fall asleep. Not yet. Something was happening, but she didn't know what.

She opened her mouth to protest, but closed it knowing he wouldn't take his jacket back no matter what she said. Instead Aileada continued to lead him down the path towards the apartment building. Its red brick walls were in sight and nearby, something she was more thankful of now than before. Aileada looked over her shoulder seeing a figure further behind them. She couldn't tell if it was Zodiac, but she didn't stop to find out.

"Of course you couldn't do a simple favor for me." Zodiac approached the two, holding his mask with his bleeding hand. His cloak billowed in the wind, exposing his faded tan sleeveless dress shirt. In annoyance, he hung his cloak and hood on a nearby bike rack. The whole lengths of both of his arms were covered in bandages, and his pale long neck. He drew a dagger from his belt and adjusted his scarf to cover his neck entirely.

Catching her movement from the corner of his eye, he shouted to her over the roaring wind. "No matter what happens, stay in the cart! You'll be safe! When I tell you to, sit up and squeeze this as hard as you can, and do NOT let go until it's safe! Understand?" He said, pointing to the brake handle. He glared ahead as he spoke, gradually drawing closer to the town. His mind raced, calculating the multitude of science, physics, and anatomy necessary to pull such a reckless maneuver. She would survive with not more that a broken arm, at most. His day, however, was about to be very bad indeed. He silently hoped that the brick wall was where he remembered it being, else he was in for quite a rough start.

"I just wanted people to be with. You know, I've never had a family. So you degrading me to live in a graffiti-covered slum home, all alone, was a direct insult."

Zodiac griped his blade tight while a hooded figure from a distant rooftop looked at Zodiac from afar.

Victoria opens her eyes and looks at him. "What is happening?" She asks. "What do you plan on doing?" Her wings finally recede into her back and any traces of her dragon form are gone.

Ronnie decided to leave the café and try to find his home. He walks near the apartments thinking maybe he lives here and sees zodiac holding the dagger against the other two, Ronnie is instantly concerned but doesn't know how to help them.

"Zodiac, listen your not of a right mind" Hunter pleaded to him wincing from time to time ,"if you had heard me out I was gonna say you could stay there until we got you something better, besides we would visit you whether you wanted us to or not."

Aileada looked back. Fear gripped her heart as she spotted him. The knife he held glinted under the street lights. She turned back to Hunter. "Keep walking ok? I know you don't want anyone get hurt, but do me a favor," She smiled sadly. "Let me be the hero this time?" She gently pushed Hunter in the direction towards the brick building. She stopped and turned back to look at Zodiac. She could hear the blood rushing through her ears as her heart raced.

Hunter looked at Aileada wide eyed for a second here he was trying to stop an attack and she want to be a hero, but never the less he agreed "Ok, but I'm stepping in as soon as things seem to go south"

He turned his head and smirked for a moment as he spoke. "Making a big fucking bullet." With a wink, he turned his head forward and began to measure the distance. Ten seconds.....eight seconds......six seconds.... He drew a small combat knife from his belt, relaxing his body in preparation. Provided Victoria did as she was told, he would be thrown from the bike instantly, like a human cannonball. If she acted at exactly the right moment, the bike would roll a few times and land on it's wheels in the mud. The machine would be a little battered, but the girl would be safe, and that's what mattered most. They shot through the entrance of the town at almost 85 miles an hour, with its rider now standing fully erect on the seat. "NOW! DO IT NOW! GRAB THE BRAKE!" He shouted to her as he closed his eyes and let the raging beast inside him take hold once more.

Ronnie felt around in his pockets for something he could use to help, then he found his sonic screwdriver, a device that emits sound waves to do a variety of different things, if it came to it Ronnie should use it to blow out zodiac's. Ear drums and cause a distraction.

"I don't care, I just wanted family..."

Zodiac ripped off the mask, unveiling a true horror. His darkened red irises shown no other emotions but sadness, anger, and guilt. His eyes were surrounded by dark rings, sunken and contorted into a expression between a mix of anguish, fury, and pain.

His mouth was open, bared row upon row of sharp teeth.

His greasy black hair flailed wildly in the wind.

He tore off his shirt, revealing a malnourished, pale, and jaundiced body. A large patchwork of geometrical lines covered his chest and abdomen, and all leaded into a black void in the center of his chest.

"This is what millennia of being alone does to you, Look at me, Human!"

Ronnie approaches zodiac, and says"I know how being alone feels, I do, but this is not the answer! Remember me? I may look different but its me, the guy who broke his nose...i would have been your friend, but you left me while I was talking to you!maybe we can still be friends!you don't need to be alone!"

She walked up to Zodiac with a calm expression. She didn't know how she was looking so level-headed on the outside considering she was absolutely terrified on the inside. None the less she continued forward. She stared at him, holding his gaze the entire time. Suddenly her arms were around him as she hugged him. "I'm so sorry," She whispered. Tears welled up in her eyes as she didn't let go. "I don't know what it's like to spend a millenia alone, but I know what it's like to spend eight years alone and that's hell enough. I don't know what you've gone through, and I haven't even experienced a fraction of it, but I'm sorry. I knew what it was like to want someone to care about you. But even in knowing that I still hurt you. I'm sorry."

Time seemed to slow down all at once. The squeal of rubber, the thudding of metal, the cries of the bystanders; he heard none of it. Kicking the handlebar at the last second, the wolf was launched head first towards the masked, radiating source of energy. At the last second, he corrected his trajectory, shooting over top of Aileada and the figure like a bat out of hell. He reversed himself and managed to get his feet on the ground, but his velocity was still too intense. Try as he might, the wolf slammed into the brick wall with the force of a howitzer, leaving a massive dent in the masonry. Peeling himself from the stone that should very well have been his tomb, he let out a terrifying howl that pierced the evening with an unmistakable fury. Shinukara had officially arrived in Liondil, and Hell had followed with him.

Zodiac swung his blade at Ronnie. "Get away from me, kid."

He focused his attention back the human directly in front of him.

Zodiac listened. Black fluid dripping from his bloodshot eyes. He put his bandaged arm around her and quietly said, "You will never know..."

He prepared to stab her in the back, but he hesitated and let his arm drop.

He wiped his face. He turned to look at a strange swishing noise from his left, but it was too late. A large chunk of stone hit him in the face, and Zodiac feel, dazed and hurt from the blow.

Zodiac coughed and tried to sit up, but a gloved hand belonging to a skinny but tall being laid before him. The dust settled and Zodiac's eyes widened.

"Tr-Trebuchet?" He called out, stunned. A gleam of lights shot through the disappearing haze and the familiar diagonal lights pulsated with every word that a Australian accent spoke.

"Who'd else it be, Bloke?"
