Fantasy Anything Goes

The red head's gaze snapped up at the loud rumble of a motorcycle driving by. The book store owner shuffled towards the door and poked his head out. "Looks like there's a big get together at the cafe today. Business must be good for them." He nodded, certain in what he was saying. Aileada slowly stood and looked out behind the man. Loud voices could be heard whenever the door was opened. "Maybe there's a fight." The old man laughed in excitement. If this were a story in a book, Aileada would've ran down the street and tried to stop the ruckus, beat the bad guy and make some friends,

But this wasn't a story in a book. So instead Aileada stared at the building with longing eyes, wishing she could be her own protagonist in an amazing story.

As Hunter thought about what happened so far in today he realized that today was pretty calm relatively, yeah he almost fought a dragoness and he was still on the fence with whether that Zodiac was a demon or just a nut. He decided to leave the café saying his goodbyes to Aya who still seemed I shock on what happened 'Probably scared from the titan presence' (FYI the Greek titans) as he was walking down the street he noticed a book store, and decided to enter the store. The smell of ink and paper was most prominent deciding to look around he noticed the red head from the café there he decide to talk to her "Hi, have any book suggestions?" he asked her.

Aileada turn so quickly she stumbled slightly on her own feet. "Who, me? Uh, I suppose it depends on the genre. What are you into?" It was the same guy as earlier. Her heart beat quickened as she thought of the reason he would want to talk to her. Had he seen her and she seemed off? Did she look weird? Did she spill something on her shirt? She subtly looked down at her white button-up shirt and black vest. 'Good, no stain. That would've been a pain trying to remove.' Aileada almost jumped when she looked back up and realized he was still there in front of her.

Hunter chuckled a bit from the expression on her face, it remind him of a deer in head headlights, "Well call me childish, but fantasy always appealed to the most" he said "ya know, being the hero to save the day and all" he said, acting like he had a sword in hand and was fight a monster "yeah, you probably think I'm silly, huh?" He asked

Aileada smiled kindly and shook her head. "Not at all. I find fantasy therapeutic. While everything seems childish, whimsical, and impossible they often connect to people on an emotional level. Like you said, wanting to be the hero and fight the monsters." Turning to scan the shelves that she knew like the back of her hand, she pulled out a book. She held it out in front of him to let him see. "It's not exactly a 'fight the monsters' book, but its rebellious nature and whimsical setting are really nice. And I suppose you could say the warden is the monster they're trying to fight." On the cover of the black book was a blue and silver key with curling letters that spelled "Incarceron."

Aileada nodded as all her hopes deflated. Maybe he hadn't recognized her. Maybe he thought she worked here. Sighing internally, she smiled back the man. "There are other great books too. I suppose you just have to look for them. If have any other questions let me know." She then turned and headed back towards Duchess. 'Just us two girls,' She thought. Duchess looked up at her as if agreeing with her thought.

Once he'd finished his cigarette and disposed of the remains of its filter, he headed inside and made his way to the counter. Paying no mind to the hustle and bustle, he quietly waited his turn in line, watching the crowd with scrutiny. He mentally took notes, in case things got heated. A table immediately to his right, and devoid of people. An empty glass bottle. Plenty of chairs and furniture. Should he need to unholster his pistol, he'd have plenty of room to work with. Twitching his ears, more in annoyance than anything else, he made sure to keep a close watch on the masked man hiding in the dark. If it came down to it, the wolf would take him first.

"You know" Hunter said as he browsed the other books "it's a formality to give ones name when asked , Aileada Burchett."

Victoria looks at the man that just walked in. He was the one who rode the motorcycle. She looks back down at her drawing and continues.

Her eyes widened as she heard her name spoken. Though luckily her back was to him so he was unaware of her surprise. "What would've been the point? It seems you already know it." She turned back to him with a light smile. "It's quite odd though seeings as I can't recall us ever meeting before today."

"You really don't remember, well I can't blame you it was in what kindergarten?" Hunter said to himself out loud "Or was it 1st grade?" he shrugged the thoughts off "either way, we've met before, Aileada."

She stared at him for a long moment. Nothing. She tried to remember her kindergarten and first grade class mates, but none of them seemed to resemble the man in front of her. Though of course, Aileada always tried to forget childhood years. Images of lonely lunches and kids pulling and tugging on her hair flooded her mind. She even recalled her fourth grade school photo when one of the kids cut a large chunk of her hair out with safety scissors. "I'm sorry, I just can't remember. What's your name?"

Hunter let out a sigh "you really don't remember your best friend, Hunter?" He asked with a hint if sadness in his voice " maybe this will help." he said as he shifted his hair a shade lighter and his eyes gained a more blue-green color, instead of their normal green.

With a fresh cup of coffee in hand, and a bagel clenched in his jaw, he made his way back outside and onto the sidewalk. Crowds had always bothered him to some degree. Leaning against his motorcycle, he munched on the bagel and took another look around. Bookstore, barbershop, cafe, a church. This place was nothing like his brother had made it out to be. He quietly scoffed and peeked through the window of the bookstore, wondering if they might have a map inside. He'd already made up his mind that if something didn't catch his attention soon, he wouldn't stay longer than he had to. Three nights, at most. With a sigh, he quietly made his way inside and silently began to peruse the shelves, never making a sound. Surely there was a map to be found somewhere.

Victoria finished her coffee and leaves the small cafe. On her way out, she takes a closer look at the man's motorcycle. She looks around for the owner and bites her lip. She quickly takes out her sketchbook and begins to draw the vehicle. It looked old, but those were the things she liked the best.

Zodiac lowered the menu to the table. Nothing of his interest. When he turned the menu onto it's front binding he spotted the "Extra!" Category. He leaned close for inspection. He almost passed out seeing they had pastries for sale. Zodiac ran to the counter, asking the cashier for a long list of dessert items.

"Two scones, Two blueberry muffins, three chocolate brownies, five segments of fudge, three bags of your assorted candies, and two hazelnut cupcakes." Zodiac drew a large breath and added. "...And a Vanilla latte." He shoved the perfectly correct amount of money in cash upon the counter. "...To go." Zodiac fled back to his seat nervously tapping his fingers rapidly on the table.

Aileada felt a pang of guilt at the sadness seeping into his words. The name hunter sounded familiar, but again she just couldn't put a child's face to the name. Her eyes widened in realization as he changed his hair and eye color. "Hunter Nelson?" She said incredulously. She looked the man over again now seeing the small, stick-like boy he used to be. "You grew up nicely." She exclaimed before realizing what she was saying. She blushed slightly at her previous comment, unsure of how he would respond.

With a sigh of irritation, he scarfed the last of his bagel and finished off his coffee. How was it possible that a bookstore didn't have even a town map, much less a continental map. Even a globe would've sufficed. Disposing of his trash, he cracked the aching bones in his neck and did the one thing he dreaded most. He approached the couple socializing at the front of the store and spoke in a voice that was both coarse and gentle at the same time, like stones at the bottom of a river's bed. Six years of never sleeping in the same place twice would do that to a guy. "Excuse me. I need a map."

"The one and only!" Hunter exclaimed "honestly, I almost feel insulted that you could forget me" he said as he shifted is hair and eyes back to their original colors "and here I stood hoping you'd remember me!" He said with mock anger and a small frown on his face, as he turned around with his arms crossed, he then heard a voice behind him ask for a map and turned around to see a man with white hair.

Aileada smiled and laughed softly. "I'm sorry, that was more than ten years ago!" Aileada stopped at the sound of another voice. "A map? Of course, sorry Mr. Renolds always forgets to set them out." She turned back to Hunter. "One moment please," Quickly she slipped around the counter and bent down to retrieve a stack of different maps. "Would you like city or province?" Aileada questioned trying to sound like she worked here and knew what she was talking about.

The cashier came back with a basket of goodies to Zodiac's table. He grinned so wide it was visible in the gaps between his mask and hair. He lifted his mask, only exposing his mouth and cheeks. He opened his mouth, briefly unveiling a row of pearly and sharp teeth. He bit into a brownie and slumped back in his seat. Where he came from, all of the food tasted like shit. But Earth had plenty of delicious food around the entire planet. It was Zodiac's goal to taste every single cuisine on Earth. Zodiac wiped his chin, and ate a few more candies before he wrapped it all back up and carried the basket under his arm.

Ronnie was bored at the park, he wanted something fun to do. So he gets up off the park bench, stretches, and starts to walk towards the cafe, hoping for something interesting.
