Fantasy Anything Goes

"I guess you'd know more about it than me." Aya said, studying him. As she noticed him changing his eye color, she smiled and did the same. First brown, green, and then blue, finally returning her eyes to brown. "I honestly haven't met many others like me.." Her voice trailed of as she watched the man.

"I can say the same and I've been around the world a few times, honestly, I can confidently say we're starting to die out. It's sad really..." he said in a grim tone, "but enough about the dim and dank we're here and it's now, so how about we eat" he continued nodding he's head towards to shortening line "my treat."

"You don't have to do that." Aya offered as they moved up in line "I can pay for myself.." She got lost in thought as they stood there, thinking about the idea that her race was dying out...

"No, no I insist" Hunter said with a tone of finality "think of it as a..." He trailed of noticing a girl with bright red hair in a booth, he took a few seconds to see if she was a shifter, instead he found that she wasn't, but found another somewhere in town, but he couldn't pinpoint it, and during this he didn't catch himself starting to stare at Aya.

Aileada rested her chin on her palm as she stared out the window. "Maybe I'm just not cool enough," She mumbled. She let out a dry laugh as she continued staring off. She knew that the town she lived in had many different humanoid like species, and much like other stories the humans were the boring ones. She couldn't fly or read minds, she didn't have a tail or super acute hearing. She was just another normal person.

Aya watched as Hunter trailed off. She noted him staring at her for a few moments, since he didn't look away she asked "Is something wrong..?" quietly. She couldn't really figure him out.

"What?" Hunter asked as Aya snapped him out of his thoughts, he then started to blush slightly and rubbed the back of his head, an old habit of his, when he realized what he was doing "Sorry I was just checking something" he said with his trade mark goofy grin ",but anywho, I have some good news!"

Aya perked up a little bit. "Really? What is it?" She asked him, intrigued. She felt like she could learn a lot from Hunter, but didn't know for sure yet whether or not she could really trust him.

"Well , see that red head over there?" Hunter asked, slightly nodding to the red head in the booth, "well her hair is natural, as a dye would change shade depending on the original hair color, and no hair color can get that shade of red no matter how much bleach is used," he explained, "so I thought she was a shifter as most normal people don't have that vibrant of red for a hair color, but a shifter could, so I decided to see if she was, she isn't, but instead I found another shifter in the town somewhere but I can't pinpoint it." He finished

"Really??" Aya asked excitedly. "Another one? Are you going to look for it?" She was filled with a million questions but tried to keep herself calm.

"No" Hunter said flatly "if I meet them I'll say hi to them like I did you, but I'm not going to trouble myself on a hunt for some random person, besides they might not like to be found as their suppressing their natural signal, unlike you" he said with a poker face "besides you seem to need my help more than them." He said with a slight smirk

Aya rolled her eyes. Yeah she was still kind of childish.. but she could make due on her own. "What makes you say that?" She said defensively. "Maybe someone is forcing them to suppress their signal, you never know. They might need our help.."

Slowly Aileada stood up from the booth. Not that she didn't love being alone, like more the than life, but it was always more depressing being alone and surrounded by people than alone and by yourself. At least one gave you no choice. Carefully she moved around the customers, fished a dollar and some change from her pocket, dropped it in the tip jar, and headed for the door.

"Aya, a shifters signal can't be forced to do anything as there different from most creatures' signals" he started to explain,"a shifter is the only one to be able to suppress it, I can't tell you why cause I don't know my self", he continued noticing the red head was leaving 'note to self keep an eye out for her' he thought," but I can tell you that their hiding, from who or what I don't know, but whatever it is, they don't want it to find them, seeing as the beacon signal there releasing is that of a human" he finished his explanation stepping up in the line, "as for you, I can tell you don't know to full potential of a shifter"

Aya stayed quiet. It was true. She didn't know much about her own kind or herself even. She felt so stupid standing there. She completely avoided looking at hunter. "Okay." She simply said, trying not to make herself seem even more dumb than she already has.

Once out in the cool autumn air Aileada smiled. 'I know somewhere to go where I'm never alone!' She tried to contain her excitement as she walked quickly down the road towards the book store. Within books, you could do anything, be anyone, and being human wasn't always such a bad thing. The girl felt her mood lighten as she thought of the many different books. Her close connections to the old owner of the store meant she got first dibs on books.

Hunter chuckled when he saw Aya avoid looking at him "Hey, don't beat yourself up I was in the same position you're in right now once, the only difference is that it took going around the world three times to learn all I know." he said to comfort her.

The book store was a rather small building, and with the book cases some would call it suffocating, but Aileada found it comforting to be surrounded by something she loved. She walked into the small area, smiling at the old man at the counter. He returned the smile, adding to the wrinkles on his face. "Good morning Aileada, here for the new shipment?"

"Can't I come here just to be with you?"

"I don't think Carol will have a problem with that, will you darling?" He looked down at small framed photo of him as wife, Carol. He smiled nostalgically at her. "Though Duchess might have a bone to pick with you." The old man chuckled as he walked around the counter and pet the old Scottish deerhound. Aileada smiled and sat down beside Duchess.

"Is that true girl? Hm?" She pet the dog who rested her head on Aileada's lap, looking up at her with soft grey-blue eyes. "Alright you win this round." Aileada laughed, scratching behind Duchess' ear.

Zodiac hung in the dark corner of the café, his mask displaying a simple but somewhat foreign symbol to the crowd in front of him. His slow, drawn-out breathing put a haze of vapor in the inside of his mask. Slowly he sat down at a table, paying to no attention who sat there. A breeze caught under his hooded cloak and his cloak was lifted on the pocket of air, briefly exposing his bandaged arms. Zodiac murmured and shifted his blank gaze upon a man and a women talking. He wanted to make his presence known, but not entirely menacing.

The motorcycle roared as he down-shifted, dropping into fourth gear once he could see the town. His brother hadn't said much in the letter, only that the place was worth checking out. And so, Shinu had packed his belongings, paid the fares to have his bike transported with him, and set out to find this Liondil place. About half a mile away from the edge of town, he pulled over on the side of the road and lifted his goggles, stretching and letting his ears perk up amdist his tussled, snowy hair. From the look of things, the town had a rather quaint appearance to it, simple but happy. After a few moments, he revved the engine and proceeded into town. The old bike, with it's faded olive paint and side car loaded with bags, did well on the English roads. Despite its age, the machine performed rather well indeed. First things first, the young wolf needed something to quench his ungodly thirst. Spotting a cafe, he parked the bike and crossed the street, clenching a rumpled cigarette between his teeth. "Hope you'vre right, little brother..." He mumbled aloud, more to himself than anyone in particular.

Hunter felt someone watching him, it wasn't a bad feeling like this person had any harmful intentions, he just felt them watching, so changing his eyes abit to that of a bald eagle's he looked around discreetly, noticing a man in a mask in the dark corner of the cafe, he chose not to say anything to Aya but made a mental note to talk to this person

Victoria sighs and gathers up her things. She was craving an iced coffee. She walks to the cafe and quietly slips in the door. She picks a small table by the window and sets her sketchbook down.

As his weathered boots found the sidewalk, he struck a match and lit the cigarette, taking a deep drag and exhaling slowly with his head tilted back. He'd always been fascinated by the sight of smoke drifting in the air. A hint of what could have been perfume passing by caught his attention, but it was brief in it's passage. He paused to look around but saw no one who looked like they'd have any business wearing perfume. Shrugging the matter off with a quiet sigh, he paused by the door and contemplated for a moment. Whiskey, or coffee? What were the smoking laws in Britain anyway? Would they allow his habit indoors, he wondered? He decided to finish up outside and play it safe. His muscles needed the effort of standing straight anyways. And so, with a watchful eye on his bike, the young lycan lazily dragged on the cigarette; lost again in the mysteries of life that rattled in his head.

Victoria goes up to the counter and orders a large iced coffee. She needed the extra caffeine. "Thank you," she says and pays for her coffee. She returns to her table and opens up her sketchbook. A fierce dragon stared up at her from the page. He was only partially finished, but he was still stunning.

Zodiac spotted the man's glare, and took it as a confirmation that Zodiac has became known. Without hesitation, Zodiac stood and lifted his hood off of his head, brushing aside a few locks of long black hair. Quietly sizing the man up, Zodiac stepped toward the man and girl in a silent and synchronized stride.
