I'm sure there are other ghost mages and mediums out there. And in Maniacles. In different groups. Denton just chose that area his magic of choice. The Field Agent thing was something he earned.

You could always say Manialces simply offered her a job or she was promoted into the team. It happens a lot. People get shuffled around, replaced, promoted etc

What I've is that, her efforts to accomplish a goal got her on the Persons of Interest list in case she did something stupid and flooded Earth with a LotR army of ghosts, but since that's not even related to what she's trying to accomplish, they employ her to keep an eye on her, and she happened to be within arm's reach when they found out Denton's now a window-licker
