Futuristic Agent of Maniacles OOC and Characters

GT was fucking terrible and I can list at least 10 reasons why.
I do agree the premise was bullshit, but I usually watch anime for epic fights more than anything else. I wanna know how they got to be badass, and I want to see them demonstrate that badassery. If it has an absolutely amazing story to tell, then that's a welcome bonus. Otherwise, I'll read the manga if I can. What are your ten reasons?

STEP INTO THE GRAND TOUR, A BRAND NEW ADVENTURE BEGINS, ANOTHER CHALLENGE FOR GOKU AND HIS FRIENDS. PILAF MAKE'S HIM A CHILD AGAAAAAAIN!

The best part of GT was the Baby stuff. I mean the overall series has some real problems, but I like the concept of Baby and his backstory and how that whole arc worked. It was very different.

10. Goku Transforming Into A Child But Retaining All of His Strength

Now hear me out, retaining the combat experience is one thing, but he was able to go Super Saiyan 3 still, albeit he could only do it for short bursts of time similar to the Kaioken. But you'd think after a while he'd be able to just stay in the form like he had mastered Super Saiyan 1 in the Cell Saga and that was just kinda the norm without any stamina drain. Not only that, but if you've ever watched Dragon Ball, you know that Goku was weak as fuck and would have been fucking overkilled by Roshi at the time when he was a kid. He was wished to BE a kid, not remain strong and be a child. He was wished to BECOME a kid again!

9. The Supreme Kais Need To Yank Out His Tail With Huge Pliers

Goku used to be able to have his tail grow back without much effort. Maybe cut a hole in his clothes so it didn't bother him as much, but that was about the limitation. He needs to have it fully pulled out, even though he's regrown it before, many, many, MANY times without a modicum of effort. Figure that one out.

8. The Black Star Dragon Balls Gave Earth A Year To Live But It Took Goku A Week To Get To Namek

The Black Star Dragon Balls were a cool premise, but at the same point in time, they were spread throughout the COSMOS, and you had to go hunting for them. SOMEHOW, it took all of their travels less than a FUCKING YEAR before Earth was destroyed, to accomplish. Which is horse shit considering it took the SAIYANS a year to travel remotely half that distance in Freiza's technologically advanced by fucking light-years space pods!

7. Vegeta Calls Himself A Proud Earthling And A Saiyan

Never, ever, EVER, would Vegeta do this in a million fucking years. EVER. His whole fucking deal is Saiyan pride! Fucking had to make the character different because it wasn't canon though, so they basically yoted the character as a whole.

6. Piccolo's Death By Saving Goku, Choosing To Die With Earth

Piccolo somehow cannot escape earth even though there's probably quite a few fucking ships Bulma could have made in order to have as backups because BULMA'S A FUCKING GENIUS. She has never once NOT had a backup plan, and Goku could still use instant transmission. So that entire fucking thing was a mute point and he didn't even come back when Earth was righted! Or he did, but he didn't have much of a fucking point to the show, maybe a cameo here or there when he's supposedly one of the strongest Z fighters!

I'll continue on but give me a hot minute.

I don't think Goku has the ability to grow his tail back like that. Well, he does, but in Dragon Ball he never grew it back on purpose. It happened naturally. If Saiyans could have regrown their tails by sheer force of will Vegeta would have grown his back when it got cut off.

Not to mention other inconsistent stuff like Goten and Trunks not having tails.

No official reason is ever given as to why Goku never grows his tail back again. Not that I'm saying GT is good to me.

But the tail thing isn't really a syndrome of GT being bad imo. It's more a syndrome of Toriyama's writing. He found no more use for the concept or didn't like working with them anymore, so he clearly discarded concept. Toriyama is known to write on the fly and come up with ideas randomly that suits the story, often throwing other stuff to the wayside or forgetting about them.

DB overall has a lot of inconsistent things.

So Goku has carried it around on his person in his clothes. We all know his clothes get destroyed constantly, so he probably regrows it back and uses it to fish instead of just casually having one. This is proven in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, the new game set to launch in January and Akira Toriyama said that the game adds a lot of canon. And yes that is canon. Welcome to hell. Vegeta probably just sees it as more of a weakness and a hindrance. After all, it is technically a weak spot to all Saiyans if they have it. They physically get unable to move when someone even grabs their tail. AKA Raditz fighting Goku and Piccolo.

Goten and Trunks probably get their tails removed too so they don't deal with Oozaru bullshit. Probably wanted to let Gohan keep his because it reminded Chi Chi of when Goku was a kid.

But you're not wrong about Toriyama throwing shit in a pan and seeing how it comes out. The problem is that he treated his tail like a hang nail in GT. And whenever he ripped it out, it would essentially grow back within a day or two. But in Dragon Ball it took him like months to grow it back.

See, though? That's retcon. DBZ ended in 1995. This game is coming out now - well, in 2020. I didn't know Toriyama said about the game, but still that's a pretty huge gap. It basically proves its not something Toriyama really cared about after a certain point.

And I'm almost positive there's a moment in DBZ not long after Trunks is born where Krillin mentions him not having a tail. Look I love Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. Toriyama is a genius draftsman. The man knows his panel layouts.

But DB overall is riddled with stuff like that

It's not just DB of course. I can name other stuff. I'm just saying that tail thing was clearly not planned out in full or thought out.

Krillin does mention this and Bulma says she's removed it. Small little snippets of dialogue are the only explanations we really get for these questions which raises more questions in my opinion. But GT was just Dragon Ball in name alone. Shit basically had everyone putting in a plot point somewhere, kinda like this arc. Difference is, this arc is actually fucking readable and stays consistent. 😂😂😂

Just like how

I just don't think GT and Super hold up as well because Toriyama is either not involved in GT's case or he's involved but not nearly as passionate about the work as he once was. It's a cash cow franchise, though, so it'll never stop.

But I think manga and anime wise Dragon Ball/Z has a level of quality that continuation series haven't been able to match. I did like the DBS Broly movie, though and other stuff about both GT and Super, but the heart isn't just there. It might be because I'm older of course.

The DBS Broly movie was fucking LIIIIT! I'm so happy it's canon! But the manga is pretty good for super. Really good. Especially when Beerus puts Vegeta in a crater after offering to spar with him, simply because Vegeta goes all out. Fucking golden, bro. And they use Super Saiyan God a lot in the manga versus SSB

Oh the DBS manga art and paneling isn't bad by any means.

But there is something about Toriyama's work that is just hard to replicate. It's really a special style. The man has a talent for layout, pouring emotion ...not just into the battles, but into the medium itself. He has much tighter and efficient control of pacing as well in terms of his style

This isn't knocking DBS manga at all btw.

Toriyama is just really that damn good a draftsman imo.

Some comic/manga artists use the medium as very basic. I'm not meaning 'basic' as in bad btw. It's the workman style of what you see is what you get. I'd say go pick up an issue of one of the current Batman comic or check out a chapter of Death Note or Soul Eater. I'd say those are example of basic paneling. They tell great stories, but the medium they are using isn't quite as important. A secondary.

On the flipside you have stuff like One Piece, Dragon Ball, Watchmen, Maus, Calvin and Hobbes, Jungi Ito's work etc. In those comics...they are using the medium itself to convey the story to varying degrees.

Can we do a scene where Vivian comes home from a long day and finds Quentin is cheating on her. She finds him right in the act, just banging away. I have the character to he's cheating on her with.

Marty Wolf
If that happens I'm gonna laugh xD and lets be honest Marty would probably top Quentin.

Wow, thank you for the compliment. I mean knowing that a side character I made can top a man with a demon inside him is nice.

Anyway Marty don't swing that way. Marty is wanting a piece of Aria, though.

Okay that brings up a good point, see I said he could top without thinking of the demon however if the demon took over Quentin would top.
Please don't ask how I know this xD

Marty can have Aria and Quentin will just happily stay with Viv deal?
