Fantasy A Union in Chaos

"Well shit," Ari said. His inside and outside reaction were 2 different thing: The outside unimpressed and the inside extremely impressed. "Strong-ass legs." He put the rest of the Green rose on the cuffs and they dispelled.

"If you keep your word, then we shouldn't have to worry about you slitting my throat in my sleep. Is that right?" Ari wondered if he would keep his word. If people had one thing to possess it's the honor system. Still though, would it apply to him? Or is that just a front to get him to lower his guard

Ari looked at his sword. He missed her heart, something he had never done before since he became an assassin. He still had that assassin's edge, but it'd need to be reworked to accommodate a sword.

"If you're coming, Jacen, then let's go............. you too unknown woman."

Jacen Rosenthal

Jacen looked at Ari and got up, finally the cuffs broken. He let out a relieved sigh and walked over to the ground nearby, picking up his sword and sheathing it. He walked up to Ari, following him anywhere he was about to go. "I am ready, master." he said, nodding confidently.

Sontar Bluesteam

Sontar was released, he did not respond to what Ari said, instead he grabbed his sword and cleaned the blood off of it, then again and again and again, until it was in a perfect condition, not even the smallest drop of blood blighting it. He would have to clean it with water later though. This was a clear sign of the obsessive-compulsive disorder. He looked at the Witch's body and said "Disgusting and amusing." then turning to Ari, when he just started paying attention to his words.

He looked at Ari and responded "Yes. You released me, so I will keep my word. What do you exactly plan on doing anyway, I must come with you. You saved my life, so I can't leave until I return the favour, is that not correct?" as he took off his mask, revealing the face of a suspiciously young man, but his eyes were shining with something else. Wisdom, even power, you could sense that stemming from his look. He had a neutral, rather reserved look on his face. He looked at the Witch again and spat on her body.

Meanwhile in the city of Korhal...

Sons of Korhal, Kaldor Dreigo

A cold day in the Citadel it was, one of the Paladins entered the keep and walked up to Kaldor Dreigo. He spoke up proudly and respectively, with no weapon in his hand to show respect to the tall, muscular but elderly man in armor. "My glorious chapter-master!" he said with a loud voice, to turn the chapter-master's attention towards himself.

The man turned around, his blue gaze meeting the eyes of the paladin. The man's attention was captured and he responded "Yes, Decius?" with a curious voice of what he would have to say.

The Paladin spoke up once again, saying "With courage and honor! Sir, our magicians have discovered a rift in the Void. We sense great power within, the power is a combination." he spoke with an unsure tone, wondering what the response of his leader would be.

Kaldor said "Then it is grey magic, yes? But... why are you telling me this? It's not like this 'rift' will actually be a threat of any kind? Will it spawn demons? Or entities, or something else that requires to be purged in the name of God?"

The Paladin looked nervous but responded "My... Master... The rift, it's not the only one. There is another in the Abyss. They will cross through each other." with a rather nervous voice. Under his armor, he got just a bit sweaty. The chapter-master was known as a man that likes to pick up a fight, and a strict, sometimes even aggressive person.

Kaldor rose both of his eyebrows, which is really rare. As an old man, he thought he had seen anything... but not an anomaly like this before. "That means that the power from the very energies of the universe will fill our realm... this kind of power... it's too dangerous for a normal person. What if someone in the Abyss captures it? Like a demon, sitting in his realm, planning to take it for himself and turn into a God of great power..." he deduced. "How long then? Until it happens?" he asked worriedly and curiously.

The Paladin responded "Our astronomical analysis says, it will be about 99 hours from now." with his voice stepping down in the pitch, clearly getting more and more scared, and even terrified.

Kaldor looked at him and frowned with a sad face of realization. He rose his finger to his chin... "By the Elder God... what is the meaning of this? Is this supposed to be the end of the world? Are those the final hours? No, nobody has to know. We mustn't raise panic. If it comes to that, then the people should be prepared anyway." he dismissed the option of informing the world about the event. He figured out... if the order knew about this, then other entities of great intelligence and power, must have also picked up this void.

Kaldor walked up to the Paladin and a bit more calmly said "Gather the troops, we have no time to waste. We are moving out in 20 minutes." as he walked out of the hall to get his items. The Paladin left after him, to gather up the troops.

Cross and Ellie had brought some weapons for the journey ahead. "Ellie I know we need these weapons just to hurt the monsters of our homeland but I'm pretty sure outside of me and you nobody here can wield a switch axe properly. The same goes for the gunlance... Seriously is that thing even needed? "Yes it is needed. We don't want anyone being chow for a Zin or Rath. Also I can use that gunlance. You get to use those Lagi duel blades over there." Ellie turned over to Amber. "Don't worry about your looks. Most Draconians meet the king in full armor. I mean if you want some good clothes we can hunt some Iodromes. That armor makes anyone look good."

He looked at her, then responded. "Yes." with a rather confident tone. "Hey, by the way. Thanks for helping when..." he turned to Sontar. "he paralyzed me." he continued, with a guilt inducing voice. "In any case, I was never more alive. Thank you for asking too." he added.

Sontar Bluesteam

He decided to go with the classic line of a mercenary. "I want to remind you, that it was nothing personal." he said, in addition to his mask, that was now clipped to his belt, so that he could get some air, he also took off his hood, to get some more air. Sontar took a deep breath and looked around the forest, it was pretty dark in it, but also calm.

He looked at her, smiling a bit and responded "Weird choice of words. That sentence smells of martyrdom." with his attention rather stuck and unable to understand how she could mean to say that. "If you come along with us, you're not a 'whore' anymore, but a heroine, ready to help others. That's how I see it, at least." he said afterwards.

Amber

"Oh are you sure? Well I can just go in these old things...oh that's so embarrassing. But I feel obligated, tell me, what kind of threats were you facing when we called for help? I wish to understand now." She was very serious, and was developing a plan to get her people back. "OH Solymere isn't this wonderful?"

Solymere

He was looking out into the mountains. Something was wrong...very wrong...He had been to Korhal in his past, and armies were marching again. He hadn't seen war for a while...relatively peaceful times. He hated it, but he had to pause his quest for the lich king...he met Amber as a victim, and met Sandro because...well Sandro came to him. But even so, Sandro had always kept his soul hidden from him...strangely, but he had proven to be a great person. A GREAT student. But there was always something off...It didn't matter. He would go to Korhal...quite a distance, and will take much of his power to teleport there. Dimension door he supposed. "Damnit" He said out loud. These destractions needed to stop! How else would he find Gilthanis?! @Kylesar1 @Baku

He teleported, and arrived near the gates of the city. He walked up to the guards. "Excuse me sirs, what's all the racket?" Like he didn't know. @Birdsie

Elisabeth shrugged. "I'm not well trained in anything. You have more potential than me. I don't care whether I live or die, so I may as well protect someone who deserves it." She smiled softly when he called her a heroine. "I never thought I would be called that."

One of the Paladins looked at the other, then shrugged. "What racket?" he asked looking back at Solymere. The other Paladin said "Maybe he's talking about that Necromancer from the few days ago? But he's been executed." with a rather convicing tone. It would be hard to tell if they were hiding something or not. However, inside of the City... The ground trembles as an army of 15,000 moves as if a single being. A symphony of steps, each perfectly alligned with the one next to it, there's no need for a scout to state the obvious: there's an army marching forward.

Up close it's the rustling of metal and the jingling of armor which overpowers all other sounds and the complaints of the soldiers are all but drowned out completely. Nobody speaks a word to each other, whether it's because of fear, focus or something else is uncertain, but there's too much noise to talk anyway. The army lacks unity, but despite their differences they do share the same goal: Serve with Courage and Honor.

He shrugged and said "There's one thing I'm afraid, but aware of. It's the fact that while I might act like one, I'll never be a hero. A hero is someone that helps others simply for the sake of it. Me? I help others because I want to be called a hero. I want bards to sing about me in the future and I want to earn fame and wealth. That's why I will never truly be a hero." which was just the normal nature of things to him. What he said were his natural beliefs. He was not a hero for the sake of it, but rather because that's just the family tradition and his dreams.

He gave her a polite nod and tilted his head a bit "You? You on the other hand are what you can really call a hero. You help us for the sake of helping us, and nothing else. You might not have experience, but you don't need it to be helpful, kind and good. Especially to be a hero, as I've said." he added shortly afterwards.

You will learn to do something." he neared her and whispered "Between you and me?" he looked at Sontar with the corner of his vision. "When we talked to each other, that guy told me there's over 2000 ways to kill someone without a weapon and he knows most of them. He told me that he didn't know any of them once. I plan to change just like him, you should too."

"Just stop doing that. Not only you're using the incorrect term, but also vulgar. The correct term would be hero. That was his duty, whether he liked it or not.

The Paladin responded "Excuse me, sir. But I have no idea what you mean when you say 'li-" he was interrupted by the chapter-master opening the gate, the great army behind him as he led them onward, marching for glory. The Paladin sighed and said "It is classified, move along, sir."

Kaldor led the soldiers onward, towards the place where the rift would appear in the Physical Realm. It was fortunately for them, in the boundaries in Rivannia. Kaldor explained the Lord of Korhal that they are going on a pilgrimage towards a holy site near Toron. It was obviously a lie, however it was for the greater good, which was what the order focused on.

Kaldor had a journal in his hand, that he would write fake reports of the journey to the Lord of Korhal, then send them through pigeons. He started writing the first entry right away.

He looked at her and felt challenged. "Then take this." he responded, giving her a purse of money. It was literally all the money that he had on himself at the moment, but she needed it far more than he did. It was his duty to help her. He would do this with anyone he came across, so he did not feel that special about doing it.
