Fantasy A Union in Chaos

The Paladin responded "Excuse me, sir. But I have no idea what you mean when you say 'li-" he was interrupted by the chapter-master opening the gate, the great army behind him as he led them onward, marching for glory. The Paladin sighed and said "It is classified, move along, sir."

Kaldor led the soldiers onward, towards the place where the rift would appear in the Physical Realm. It was fortunately for them, in the boundaries in Rivannia. Kaldor explained the Lord of Korhal that they are going on a pilgrimage towards a holy site near Toron. It was obviously a lie, however it was for the greater good, which was what the order focused on.

Kaldor had a journal in his hand, that he would write fake reports of the journey to the Lord of Korhal, then send them through pigeons. He started writing the first entry right away.

Jacen Rosenthal

He looked at her and felt challenged. "Then take this." he responded, giving her a purse of money. It was literally all the money that he had on himself at the moment, but she needed it far more than he did. It was his duty to help her. He would do this with anyone he came across, so he did not feel that special about doing it.
She pushed the money away. "I won't take your money without doing something for you. I haven't done anything."

He looked at her in surprise. "You're offering to die for me, or my master, or anyone else. Stop being capricious and just... please take it!" he said, then pushed it to her again. He was willing... no, he was determined to make her accept this money. He would not stop insisting that she took it no matter what.

She threw her arms around him in a tight hug. "Thank you so much!" she exclaimed. "That's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me."

Feeling weird, he cleaned his throat and afterwards said "Uh... Not that I want to sound rude, but... personal space?" with a rather confused, but reminding voice. He was surprised she did that, but he would not argue. If this was her way of saying 'thank you' then he'd accept it. It actually felt nice that someone respected and valued his efforts for once.

"Oh, I'm sorry." she said softly. She didn't have friends so she felt like she had already messed up. She sighed and looked down at her feet.

"Something wrong?" he asked, shortly after. He was really tired for today. His training itself was pretty exhausting, then there was also the fight with that assassin and the whole 'getting kidnapped by a witch' thing. Despite it being afternoon, he felt like he could already lie down to sleep. He still had work to do though, so he looked at the woman and decided to ask her name. Perhaps if she wanted a friend, they could be friends. That would cheer her up for sure. "So, what's your name by the way? I'm Jacen." he asked, in a friendly way.

"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, I'm sorry." she said. She saw how tired he looked and felt bad for him. "I'm Elisabeth." she said softly. "Jacen is a nice name, I like it."

"Classified my ass." He marched over towards Kaldor, who seemed to be in charge of things around here. "Young one, where is this army headed? Such an army hasn't been seen in these parts since Gilthanis marched his armies of the undead against the Alliance. So don't give me some bull shit about a crusade. I would know if the lich returned." @Birdsie

(Something about the homeland that's gonna help get her back? You guys should've just let me know that the plot can't move forward. I mean seriously. There's like soooo many ways to enter his realm without going to the draconian homeland. Here's a few.

  • A ritual that involves them all leaving their bodies. One person has to stay behind, and guard the said bodies. Their spirits will manifest in the Abyss and will be able to traverse to Azriel's realm.
  • Just tell Arabelle through the Crystal so that she tells Azriel to teleport all of them there. Jeez.
  • A deal with a powerful God.
  • A rift in the dimensions. (It so happens that if you paid attention you'd know the next one opens in 99 hours, though that's quite the wait to be fair)
  • Demonic, or Ancient scrolls. Even Raziel has one for Christ's sake.
  • Straight up dying.

Though, it's worth remembering that the way to his realm is riddled with traps, monsters, puzzles, plot-twists and betrayals. )

He looked at Solymere with the corner of his eye and responded "Young one? Your eyes must be faulty. I am but an old Paladin, not even close to being called Young."

As Kaldor heard him say bull-shit, he responded "Do not use such foul language near me. And do not invoke such unholy names like Lich. Also we are not an army, we are crusaders on a holy mission to destroy thy enemy. Step aside and watch as we cleanse the world of all sin." with the voice of a Paladin. He actually looked like the example of what a Paladin should be. He looked fairly intelligent, scholarly, religious but most importantly: tough. Kaldor continued walking, with all of the soldiers behind him, letting out heavy sounds of metal that muffled Kaldor's voice due to the noise all around them.

He already liked these paladins. These are what the world needed during the attack of the Lich King. "Not saying 'lich' will do nothing to keep it away my friend. Where was your armies during the invasion of Erathia (If anyone gets that and can give me proof they didn't just google it...you win the game)? Not that it matters anymore." He turned back to the 'old' one. "Oh I assume you are a bit younger then twenty centuries right? But even if you're not, where are you guys going?" @Birdsie

He turned around and stopped, so did the rest of the Paladins. Kaldor looked at him. Twenty centuries? That was impossible. "And what kind of creature are you?" he asked with an inquisitve voice. Kaldor prepared to draw out his sword, holding it for an occassion of a fight. He could not sense much unholy presence from Solymere, so he decided to ignore it. "Hmph. Doesn't matter. You are either not human, or you are a sorcerer using outlawed magic to extend your life. It does not matter in any way."

Kaldor took his language a bit offensively and was already a bit pissed. "Don't call us guys. We're simple monks, in robes of steel with weaponry. We were forged and moulded in the furnace of war. But we are still priests. You would not call the local priest from your church a guy, would you now?" he asked. He was detouring from the conversation, but that was on purpose. He did not make it clear though, as a Paladin, Kaldor swore to protect others, but he also swore to keep secrets as secrets. Many people confessed their sins, sometimes even lying, or not being honest to him. He was an expert at seeing and making lies already, but he still used it for the greater good and benefit of all people.

Ellie knew if she told Amber about the monsters she wouldn't believe her and call her crazy. "Amber I would tell you right now but you would call me a liar or crazy. Just how do you casually say we had monsters that ranged from annoying to outright dangerous. I mean would believe me if I told you we had to deal with a monster that could manipulate the weather. You would look at me like a crazy person. Just wait till we get there I can't speak of them and expect you to believe me."

(Sorry about my absence was out of town doing things with my family.)

"Outlawed? That's strange I extended my life under presence of an Archmage...he didn't say anything about that. Not that I care what you think, but I would call a priest a guy. I mean I don't care much for religion-you guys haven't done much for me so. It is an opinion that can be changed don't be offended my friend. I am glad your armies are returning! I mean if I find Gilthanis then we will need you guys. But let's stop dodging my question and tell me where this army is marching! Because I have a feeling it has something to do with the Abyss. You don't get to be as old as I am without being able to see into the Abyss."

Kaldor turned back to Solymere, with a rather annoyed face. "We are marching to our deaths. We will sacrifice. We are going towards Toron, there we will face annihilation... only 98 hours left until oblivion. My friend, do not tell anyone about this. In 98 hours, a rift will appear near Toron. It will unleash deadly Voidal energies, that could potentially be the end of the world if not intercepted. We might fail. We might die. But we won't give up." he responded to Solymere's question, rather annoyed at first, but getting the voice of a proud Paladin at the end. He was still moving onward.

Jacen looked at Elisabeth, then responded "No problem." He meant it. It was not a problem, just a hug. It was surprising, but not uncomfortable. "Thanks." he responded, when she complimented his name. He rolled his eyes around, smiling.

She sheathed her sword and blushed slightly.

Gabriel would reach out for Jacen and Elisabeth, taking out his dagger and asking: "What are we fighting?" with a curious tone, while the blade started to blaze with fire.
