Fantasy A Nation In Havoc OOC (2.0)

What are we going to do after? Split the group up with different objectives? Keep everyone together?

We could send some people to different cities. Like two to Fenwood, two to the empire, two to another major area, etc. We could give them goals to achieve and leave it to the authors to decide how to achieve them and what happens where they go and when. We could meet back up later near Dalania to confront the wizard with whatever allies, magic, armies, weapons, artifacts, new abilities, etc. that the group has gained on their various adventures. Like several separate story arcs that all converge again later.

Or we could have them all work together for one big goal.

I’m liking the idea of separate arcs right now.

Sry for the inactivity. Increased schoolwork and decreased interest in pretty much anything and everything has been keeping me out of the RP game for a while. Ill see what I can do.

But now I raise the question: how will we do these separate arcs? We just post with big letters at the top of our posts that say which arc we’re back on? Seems kinda messy.
That, plus we would be limiting which characters interact...
I want to try it, but it would be damn hard to pull off.

Maybe we could use separate threads for each arc, allowing the members of that arc to post at each other’s leisure. This being the main thread, it should probably be for Nia and whoever goes with her.

There is also all those sites that’ll help, Discord and the like, so that the people in question can work on a longer post together, an almost short story length post to tell their story. Just another idea.

I'm fine either way. If we separate the group, different threads could be useful, but they aren't completely necessary. We can easily use the same thread for all different arcs, no need to divide them.

It doesn't seem that complicated to me. We split the arcs by which characters are in them. If you're reading a post by Raimi, you know where she is, who she's with, and what she's trying to do. I don't really think separate threads are totally necessary either, but that's up to you folks.

We could start each post with a header containing info about who's in the post, when it happens, and where it takes place to make it more explicit if we're really worried about readers getting confused.

It DOES limit interaction to an extent, but after a while we can switch up the group compositions so everyone has a chance to interact with everyone. If we want.

So the question I ask is, how do we want to split us up?

Maybe we should start with a simpler question. What goals do we need to accomplish from here?

There are six of us, so ideally we can have either two missions for three people each or three missions for two each.

We have a bunch of different areas in this world that need explored. Fenwood, Askary, The Calcian Empire, The Red Mountains, Vilinius, etc.

Where would it make sense for people to go, given the overall goal of taking down Kruziik?

If I remember correctly, Armandio's grandfather told him to go to Calcia for help beating the wizard, so we should probably make that one of the arcs. Fenwood is to the South and has lots of elves; maybe they have some answer to how to deal with Kruziik's magic? The group is also going to need an answer to Kruziik's army as well, so maybe we should send a group to play politics in Askary and gain the official support of their government? Maybe get them to officially declare war on Kruziik in favor of putting Nia back on the throne?

Lots of possibilities. Once we figure out where we need the group to go, we can divide up who goes where.

What do you guys think?

I think splitting the group might be alright after they have reached the next place, such as the mountains or Askary. Realistically I don't imagine Kruzik will let the princess be out in the world safely for long, and having small patrols hunting them down would make splitting up more dangerous as they are still close to the city. Also it limits character interaction on the road.

Well, by the time Kruziik figures out she's not in the city anymore, they'd already have gone some distance, no? Unless he already knows through some magic method. Wjatever groups kruziik dispatches to find her would have to play catch up by folliwing Nias trail.

What if, to throw Kruziik and his cult odd, they sent the princess West to Askary or the empire, and also sent Raimi, dressed as Nia, to the South toward the Red Mountains and Fenwood? Most people will never have seen Nia, so they wouldnt know the difference between the two. The result would be Kruziik would have reports of the princess he's after travelling in two different directions and he'd have to waste resources following both trails instead of focusing efforts on one.

Alternatively, we could all go west together like you suggest, then have them split up at Askary to have some go further west to calcia. Or all go South for a while then split for the red mointains and fenwood.

Of course, both of these would be two groups of three. We could put Armandio in a wig and dress and have him go a separate direction as well, with three groups of two. Then they'd have the princess going in THREE directions. ...Im joking, of course, but I'm sure Armandio could act the part expertly.

I should note that, whatever we choose, Raimi really wants to go South to check on the farm.
