"Well, being a hero doesn't always mean doing the right thing, you know. Sometimes it takes doing evil for good, sometimes, tough choices had to be made. Or perhaps we Adventurers are just that much of an evil to them, you never know. I mean, how much do we even know about the Denizens anyway?"

In the end, a hero is but a title bestowed upon by someone else, and whether one is a hero or a villain tends to come down to the perspective of whomever bestowed the title upon them.

"Repair the damage, huh. Then I'd suggest that you speak with that loud guy from the second group. He was saying a lot of things but that's pretty much what he's going at currently. If damage control is what you're after, then working with him for now would be beneficial, though I'd be wary of a long term alliance though. For now, I believe a loose relation is for the best."

@Clockwork Syringe @xEmoBunnehx

Kala shrugged and finished off her glass of ale, deciding against it as she mentally shook herself free of the other thoughts she had. "Fix relations hm? I have no interest in doing so. Again, I feel no regret or shame over what happened and that is why I become so quickly disliked." She paused for a minute and looked between the two then started again, "Being Chaotic Neutral is so freeing. No chains bind me to a particular moral code. I do as I please and do not look back. If I am disliked or hated due to my actions then so be it, but I shan't apologize or my actions. Tis rare when I do." She finished her answer as well as her food. Kala's face and eyes were serious. She felt nothing over her actions against the Denizens and that much was clearly evident.

((Believe its time to move to the next day so I'll wrap things up here.))

"Agreed, being a hero means you need to make the difficult decisions that could also label you a villain" Orlando concluded. "One thing is for sure though, we need to meet with Rok again, he'll explain what's going on and we'll even get some training in possibly." Orlando stood up, "Joshua, Kala, it's been a fun night, but I need to get some rest, as should the two of you. Feel free to finish what remains of the ale and the chicken platter and I'll see you tomorrow at some point." Orlando walked outside the pub doors towards the Inn he frequented. Once there, he went to the room he had booked and simply collapsed on the bed allowing sleep to overcome him.

The Following Morning!

Roku was up early not by her own choice but, by the ear splitting shouts throughout the city. These cries were from the adventuerers and included Roku herself as she experienced a pain unlike any she could recall before. It was like her head was being split apart by an unknown force of energy. However, after about five minutes of this agonizing pain Roku stopped screaming. The city fell almost silent.

Roku looked at her hands as her head throbbed with pain, this was more of long term headache as she felt something return to her memory. Roku's personal memory was of the very city they were in now. However the memory showed her riding upon the shoulder of Rok, laughing gleefully at him as she rode him.

The giant of a male simply smiled back at Roku as a somewhat familar face appeared in front of them offering the two the chance to join something the woman was calling, The Heroes of Time, a phrase that seemed to cause both herself and the giant to laugh at. However they did join up upon learning... Something, the memory faded again as Roku within the current time hugged her knees close to herself.

Roku wondered a question in her mind only to find out she already knew the answer. Raising her fingers and spreading them apart revealed the number 2 before her own eyes. Roku looked saddened moreso than she had previously and clenched her fists together while softly whispering, "
And so it begins, again..." Roku let out another sigh and stood just as Sun Zhao popped into her stables.

Roku and Sun Zhao shared a look, one that was equal in uncertainity before the male spoke placing a large seashell and a whistle upon a table. "
I promised one of the groups something figured I'd share with everyone," Sun looked at Roku with an quick glance of nostalgia that quickly disappeared. "I doubt you require an explanation however," Roku merely nodded her head in response as he turned to leave without another word.

Roku picked up the Shell and placed it into her bag, the item was used for long distance communication and of course made gathering parties far faster. The whistle she attached to her neck upon a chain, the item was able to summon up a regular mount of her choosing though once chosen it was set in stone.

Roku rubbed her shoulder and left her stable of a home, her eyes lingering on the defaced building. The denizens had been vandalizing anything that could be considered Adventuerer property and though some of the Denizens spoke in whispers of Alexander's speech it was clear they would need more than words to sway the populace.

Roku left to locate her gaggle of friends wondering inside of herself what they recalled as well.

Kala had been awoken, and quite abruptly might I add but the sounds of agonizing screams. At first she was very confused and alerted, then an intense pain hit her. It was as if her head was being ripped apart and her mind thrown asunder as a vivid image hit her. The room was dark, not a single light shining. All there was, was very little candle light in a stone floored room. Kala was standing, her arms bared and extended as her palms lay open. In this room there was very low chanting in a language Kala barely understood. The room smelled very thickly of copper as well as sage and something she couldn't quite recall.

A dark figure came forth, he was cloaked in back with embroidered patterns all over him. These patterns Kala knew as runes, these runes made words but Kala didn't have time to read them as her forearm was sliced open with a silver dagger. The pain was instant but yet she found enjoyment in it. As the blood spilled over, the figure brought a golden chalice down to catch the ever flowing blood from her arm. It seemed to fill fast before her brought it back up then seemingly sipped from the chalice. After doing so he reached up and removed his hood, revealing a face Kala knew instantly. Cain. The man had white hair, and a long scar on his face, his eyes a soft gold as he smiled at her.
"Sister Kala. Welcome to the Brotherhood." His voice was deep and filled with desire as he stepped back from her and the chanting increased.

Kala seemed utterly calm as Cain back and handed the chalice off to another hooded figure.
"Sister. Show me your mark." He demanded of her, and so she did. Kala took her jacket off and bared to him the mark that was upon her chest. It was black and extended cross her entire chest with tribal designs and runes, much like the ones on Cain's robes. The mark extended down her entire right arm, ending just before her wrist.

That was where the image stopped and Kala came back to the real world. Her mind was racing and pained as well as was her heart only it was neigh in pain. Kala rose from the inn bed she'd slept in and threw off her jacket then ran into the bathroom. The minute she looked into the mirror she screamed again. The Mark was real. It was there. Right across her chest and down her arm, just like in the 'dream'. Carefully Kala tried to calm herself as she looked down to her left forearm. There was a giant scar from her wrist to her elbow. Fearing the worst she looked to her bandaged hands and neck. Did she dare take those off? View what they were? No. Not now. Not while she was afraid. Not while she could barely even look at the Mark.

With shaking hands she walked back to the previous room and put her coat on. Zipping it up she found a shell and necklace with a whistle. Carefully she put the necklace around her then the shell in her pocket. After that image..Kala was shaken. And knowing more so that the mark was real, she began to wonder what it was. What that was. Gently Kala picked up Anguish and place him on her back, deciding she was going to see the blacksmith about him right now. So she did. She left the inn, her mask and hood up.

((The symbol and tribal marks.

Also, incase I might be asked about this, her hooded and robed figures have nothing to do with the ones in the game. I promise! I developed this idea before they came along.))

Alexander was already awake and laying on a tree branch outside of town simply watching the sky when it happened. The screams had begun, and for a moment he wondered what was going on, until it hit him as well. First was the pain. Oh the pain as it coursed through his body. Before he could stop himself, his convulsing had caused him to fall out the tree. As he hit the ground, images began to fly through his mind.

There was a roaring crowd in a dimly lit and extremely large room. He was in a cage, and there was someone else in front of him. All he could hear was "FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!", and before he knew it, he had lunged at the person in front of him. What happened couldn't even be called a fight, even he could tell through the haze of time and blood lust. He was standing over a body, roaring as the chanting got louder and louder, his name being added in there. He looked up at a man who seemed to be sitting on a chair, as if asking permission. He received his answer in the form of a jagged, blood stained knife being tossed at his form. Catching it in midair, the chanting rose to an even greater volume, and as he gazed down dispassionately at the body beneath him and brought down the knife in a swing, all he could hear was "KILL! KILL! KILL!", then suddenly...

He was back on the ground, right beneath the tree he was sitting in beforehand. He didn't even realize it, but he was sweating and panting, his heart rate higher than anything he's had yet. Looking around to make sure he was actually back, he noticed a shell and a whistle. Grabbing them with shaky hands, he shoved them both into his pocket and slowly stood up, leaning on the tree for support. He then finally noticed something. The number two was just floating there. Gazing off at the distance once again, he had an inkling on what had just happened. Pushing himself off the tree, he slowly began his walk back to town, too many questions thrashing around in his mind, and even more plans beginning to stem from the corners of his mind. He knew now, more than ever, he had to make sure his ideas came to fruition. If what he thought was happening was actually happening, then things were going to get interesting to say the very least. With a sigh as he entered town, one that was repeated as he saw the state of the Adventurer owned things, he straightened up, smiled his most charming smile, and began to greet the Denizens and Adventurers alike, stopping every now and again to speak to those who wanted to ask a question or two about what he spoke of last night.

He had a long road to walk if he wanted to not only mend the relationship between Adventurer and Denizen, but also if he wanted to help his fellow Adventurers regain that which they have lost.

And he'd be damned if he didn't do everything in his power to complete his task.

It was in the morning, or at least, around the time Joshua woke up, that was morning right? At any rate, within the quiet library, Joshua slept atop a table, his hand clutches a quill pen. Surrounding him are books scattered across the floor, book ranging from history to fairy tales, geography to the big guide of ships that does not float, books that barely relates to one another in topic aside, say, that they are all written in a common language. Beside Joshua lays his diary opened at the latest page, though rather than a new entry, it was instead filled with illiterate scribbles that are more than just the result of his bad handwriting, heck, these are barely writings at all. This secluded area of the library, though messy was quiet, other than the breath of the sleeping Joshua, there were no other sound... well other than the horrendous screamings coming from the town that is.

Eventually, even Joshua woke from the noise and at the very moment he woke, he was assaulted repeatedly by a hammer upon his head, or at least, it felt like it was, it was a headache of such magnitude. For the moment, if felt like his brain might just rip through his skull and start running into the sunset, or sunrise for current time. It was during this intense pain that Joshua felt something coming back to him, a piece of himself, something that was supposed to be lost to the abyss. Joshua recalled a memory.

"Joshua, come look."

A young girl approaches Joshua, who was smaller than he is now. In her hand, a tiny spider, probably not poisonous, as she's been keeping it as a pet.

"No! Get away!"

Joshua did not took take and puts distance between him and the girl.

"Come on Joshua, you're going to have to face your fears. What would father say if all you do is run away?"

"I don't care! He never says anything good about me anyway."

You know that's not true, Joshua. Now come here.

"No!"

"But look at it, it's so fuzzy and cute."

"No!"

And Joshua ran off.

The pain subsided eventually. It was an irrelevant piece of memory. But who was that? Joshua could not recall any more than he did. That was this morning, and by now, he had already placed the occurrence to the back of his head... mostly.

After the strange morning, Joshua headed out into the field near town and begun hunting the monsters in the surroundings. Though one wouldn't call it hunting specifically, and it's more of a chase it down and hit with sword kind of thing. Training is one thing he had in mind while doing this, but more importantly, he wanted to change his fighting style. Make no mistake, he is still very much a sword man, but after the fight yesterday and now established a semi-permanent party, he feels that he's lacking. To make a point, for most of the fight against Rok, or was it Lok... Rok it is. Anyway, in the fight against Rok, Joshua mostly play a supporting role in the rear while Orlando and Kala was fighting in the front. Understandably, since it was one of his first few fights, and unlike the makeshift Denizen ambush squad from earlier, Joshua wasn't much help. But as he watches Orlando and Kala, he felt that he wouldn't be able to fight like them, not anytime soon anyway.

In Joshua's eyes, they were brave, very brave, he wouldn't go near that giant even if his life depends on it. He'd probably try to find a way to go through the wall of fire instead. The whole time, not for a moment did he think that they would win, but they did, not only that, Orlando and Kala actually brought the giant down to the ground while fighting in the front lines. Joshua can't do that, no way in a million years. To accommodate this party, Joshua decided to take on a supporting role, mainly something that allows him to be able to fight more efficiently at the rear. Since the party already have two front line fighters, there's no point for Joshua to join in, not with his skill.

And so Joshua came to the field, thinking of grinding for some extra money for new gear. Since the creature's here are much simpler to beat than,say, the berserkers, even Joshua could handle it, in fact, he wondered why he didn't just come out here in the first place instead of doing deliveries for next to nothing. Still, it's not like he's making very much here either, the items he got off the monster, of which are automatically placed into his inventory as if some greater power has been picking them up for him. would barely sell for enough for even the cheapest of gear. Perhaps he'd have enough if he sold his armor... well, not quite. Maybe if he tossed in his sword as well? He loves his sword and all, but if it's for the party then surely... Well, he'll think about it when he gets to that point.

After hunting some more, he decided to take a break for now, he's getting quite hungry after all that moving around. But before he heads back, he wanted to try out the whistle he found along with a shell when he woke up. Since they were just lying beside him, he deiced to just take them like it was the most natural thing to do, like "press 'E' to pick up" or something. After taking a not so deep a breath, Joshua blew into the whistle and then......... nothing, nothing happens, other than making a sound that a whistle should anyways. He didn't know what he expected. The next thing he checked was the shell. Instinctively, he held it by his ear by the shell, expecting to hear the ocean or something. But just then, he felt something fuzzy snuggling up to him. Somewhat startled, Joshua turned to look at what it was with the shell still by his ear. In turn, the creature snuggling up to him stared back with it's red eyes surrounded by snow white fur. This creature is quite a large one, way larger than its normal counterparts. Its legs are just as tall as Joshua himself and would be much taller if the legs are fully stretched out, all eight of them... Oh God. Joshua's face turned blue in an instant.

"HYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

A sharp, uncharacteristic scream resounds, all the while with the shell by his ear.

(I'm guessing that the shell allows communications with party members. Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Orlando awoke to a loud noise outside his window in the streets. He rolled out of bed and hazily looked outside the window to see the denziens rioting and vandalizing anything that could be considered adventurer property. The stables had been defaced from what he could see from the window and then Orlando was reminded of how Roku said she hurt Joshua the first time. Hopefully she was able to avoid the rioting denizens. Noting to himself that he would need to be careful when exiting the Inn, he put the katana sheath with the katana in it on left hip for observational purposes. Climbing down the staircase, the inn interior was quiet for the most part until the bartender hailed Orlando over for a second. He leaned in and spoke in a hushed tone, "Orlando I'd be careful out there if I were you, the citizens are rioting, best keep your head down and silent."

"Duly noted, thank you friend," replied Orlando. He exited the inn and decided that since his supplies were running low, he would undertake some hunting and proceeded to the gate. Suddenly a mob of denizens appeared from around the corner with the intent of cornering Orlando but he shot them a glare and thumbed up his katana as if to say "just try it, I dare you." With the glare, the denizens backed off almost immediately probably due to rumors spreading that he was one of the adventurers that killed Gleamfang and that he along with Kala had killed quite a score of the ambush force. Orlando simply passed them and heard a whizzing noise that turned out to be a stone thrown past his ear. He turned around and shot them the same glare, and they ran off. Soon enough Orlando reached the gate.

After passing through said gate, orlando traveled for some time to get to the field with the intent of earning a bit of extra money. As if to oblige his goal, several monsters appeared. Orlando began to cut them down until they all vanished, however, he suddenly heard a "HYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" noise and wheeled around quickly to see Joshua against a giant spider of all things. Seeing Joshua at a disadvantage due to his size and probable slow swing speed due to his sword, Orlando rushed in with the intent of helping him. "Joshua! Are you ok!?" Orlando yelled.

@revior

Seeing Orlando approach while brandishing his katana, the giant spider became startled and ran off, leaving Joshua on his feeble knees.

"H-hey Boss, f-fine morning, eh. What's that? Am I alright? S-sure, I'm t-totally fine."

Though he tries to put on a straight face, Joshua is clearly in shock and it wasn't till a few moments later did he regain his composure, though his heart still beats loudly.

"Man, what are the odds, a spider like that just popped out in an open field. Can't believe I didn't spot it getting close either. Don't tell me this is a spot known for spawning spider now and then. Well, anyway, thanks for the save Boss, I would have at least wanted to have breakfast before becoming one myself."

Orlando sheathed his katana and then spoke to Joahua, "Rule of thumb, do not go hunting alone unless you know A: the types of monsters that inhabit the area and B: that you can handle yourself without getting hurt badly. If you know both, you'll be fine, but only one, you better find a partner to watch your back. Funny how we run into each other again huh? If only I had the gift of foresight, I could tell where Kala was, but i do not. Speaking of her, I wonder where she is? However, since our goals line up for the moment I suggest we continue hunting, and if that spider comes back, we make mincemeat of it. Sound good?"

@revior @xEmoBunnehx

On her way to the blacksmith, Kala took note of the rioting going on and sighed deeply. Did they really believe this would do anything? Did they really think that destroying their own town would make anything better? No. It wouldn't and the damage was likely going to be blamed on the adventurers. With another heavy sigh, Kala kept her head down and made her way to the blacksmith. Within a few more minutes she was there. The man who owned the shop was very clearly unhappy, and even more so as he recognized her. "State yer business." He demanded of her. Kala took Anguish off her back and held it out to him gingerly. "Repair and upgrade." She muttered and the man groaned low in his throat as he took the blade from her. He seemed even more upset from the action of working on her blade, and she figured he'd charge a hefty price for it since she was an adventurer.

Kala said nothing more to the man from there on, and he nothing to her as she muttered things under his breath that she didn't care to hear. A few seconds later Kala jumped as the sound of Joshua screaming came from the shell in her pocket.
What the.. She was still very unnerved from the image, Mark, and scar that was on her body and the scream from Joshua only made this more evident. Idiot.. what has he gotten himself into.. She wondered with a head shake. A few minutes later and Anguish was fixed, making Kala slightly..okay though not very much at all. Kala was off..very off and she likely wasn't going to stop freaking out until she could calm herself and the shaking her hands were doing. As the man told her the price, she nodded and without a single word dropped a burlap coin bog on the counter. It was far more than he'd asked for, but she didn't care. He might not of deserved it..but if it helped anything with that boy's speech last night then she'd be at least okay with spending more than she could really afford. Actions spoke louder than words, and coin louder than that. So before leaving she turned to him. "Not all of us are bad." She spoke behind her mask, then left.

After leaving Kala decided that a good way to take out her fear and anxiousness was to fight. Preferably something big. So with this thought in her mind she headed to the front gates. Minutes later she was outside them and found her two 'teammates' only a few feet away from her.
Oh crap.. please down notice me.. not today.. She hoped for a moment. Kala was not one to want to talk her issues out. She'd like to ignore them and handle them later. Or never. Either worked, and right now she was still shaken by the Marks on her body. So..trying to be sneaky (and by 'try' I mean failing horribly.), she walked off to the side; hood and mask up, head down and Anguish tightly held in her right hand and resting on her shoulder.

@Clockwork Syringe @revior

((Er.. sorry about post rape.. x.x I got to thinking and uh yeah..this happened x3)

"I see you have a good head on you as always, guess that's why you're the leader. I'll keep your advice in mind."

Joshua said while smiling, but only for a bit, before his smile became somewhat clouded by some concern.

"But you know, as the leader, I feel that you tend to try pleasing everyone. I mean that's nothing bad, and you're probably the guy that can keep this party together, you know, with the thing going on with Kala and I, but I do worry. Just try not to overextend yourself, sometimes, you just can't have everything."

"Well, then, I guess this is a good opportunity to work on our teamwork, and it's always nice to have someone watching you back."

The notion of working together with Orlando was one that Joshua would gladly entertain. After all, hunting alone, no matter now careful you are, tends to get boring, and when that happens, one tends to drop their guard. Having someone else with you to watch each other's back can be quite a lifesaver, especially if a giant spider came out of nowhere.

"And speaking of Kala, isn't that her right there?"

Completely oblivious to Kala's prayer to not be noticed Joshua easily spots her.

"Hey, Kala, you hunting? How bout' you join us?"

From afar, Joshua waved and called out to her like the oblivious twat he is.

@Clockwork Syringe @xEmoBunnehx

Orlando turned around and noticed that Kala was there but all of a sudden someone tapped him on the shoulder. Orlando looked to Joshua, but alarmingly, it was not him. Orlando wheeled around and it was none other than Sun Zhao that the second group had encountered. "Woah easy! I promised both groups something figured I'd share with everyone, here its' not a trap I promise you." Sun handed Orlando a shell and whistle, "The shell will allow you to communicate with those in your party and the whistle will allow you to summon a land based mount. I don't believe everyone has received these gifts yet, but I will continue to search until everyone does!" Suddenly, Sun disappeared with a puff of smoke leaving Orlando a bit bewildered. As if to further throw fuel onto the fire of confusion Orlando suddenly collapsed on the ground and images began to flash before his eyes.

Orlando stood before a small gaggle of people addressing them as if he was a fluent speaker. He did not catch entirely what his past persona had spoken, but it had made the crowd cheer and clap. Perhaps it was a motivational speech? However, that was not the only thing that stood out in this character, he had a Katana on both hips as if that was his main fighting style instead of one katana. That made no sense as one katana allowed him to fight like a doctor making precise cuts and slashes on an enemy. One other thing Orlando noticed was that he was not the only one on this stage as several other shadowy misted figures were on the stage. More than likely that was the memory's way of telling him that his past persona knew them, but his current self did not and that they would reveal themselves in the future. That made no sense as one katana allowed him to fight like a doctor making precise cuts and slashes on an enemy. Only time would tell what this mysterious vision was trying to tell him.

As the vision faded Orlando was on his back lying on the ground

@revior @xEmoBunnehx

As Kala's poor sneaking proved fruitless, she sighed softly behind her mask and turned toward the two once more. As she did so she caught sight of Orlando hitting the ground. This alarmed her as well as worried her, so she ran forward. Within a few moments she was there with Joshua and Orlando, leaning over Orlando to make sure he was okay. "Hey.. what happened here?" She asked, more aimed toward Joshua since he seemed more..aware than Orlando currently, though either was aloud to answer. Inwardly however, Kala was still trying her best to fight off her incoming thoughts about the 'dream' this morning that was far beyond too realistic for her. Even just thinking about the fact that her body had something from..well whatever that was had scared her completely and her being the person she was, she didn't want either of the guys to ask her about it. Not now not ever.

@Clockwork Syringe @revior

"Sheesh, what a rude awakening," Orlando said whilst scratching his head. He then noticed Kala running over to him and then asking what was going on. "Kala, Joshua was hunting out here and doing quite well for himself by the looks of things, until a giant spider decided to bear its fangs. When I showed up, it scuttled away and I decided to hunt with Joshua so that if that spider returns we can make mincemeat of it. Apart from that I got new items, and a strange as hell vision."

@xEmoBunnehx @revior

Kala offered her hand to him, the very end of the scar on her wrist poking out through her jacket sleeve. "Oh yeah? How weird.." She replied, her voice strangely calm for how shaken she was. Though the fact that Orlando too had an image play across his mind might prove that whatever was going on..might not just be happening to her. Then again he could just be talking about a dream and she could be going crazy. Both were very plausible options. So deciding it best to help keep her mind off her onslaught of thoughts and possible madness, she asked about his 'dream'. "Mind telling me what it was about?"

@Clockwork Syringe @revior

((very busy day yesterday and today.))

Orlando grabbed her hand allowing himself to be pulled up with surprising ease before continuing. "Yeah, I had a vision that I was speaking to a crowd of people, they applauding and myself up on a stage with several figures I do not recognize. Also, I had two katanas instead of one on my hips. Oddly enough the vision might be trying to tell me something about the past, how to proceed, and or the future; It's very confusing however."

@xEmoBunnehx @revior

Kala nods. "Maybe so." She answered him, her own mind still wondering about her vision. Was it the past? The present? And why did she have some..mark? What did that even mean? What did the scar mean? What was..the Brotherhood? Her face twisted up in confusion as unknowingly her right hand rubbed over the long scar on the underside of her left forearm, the scar being revealed to the boys if they notived at all what she was doing before she did.

The sun descended beneath the skyline, the darkness of the evening brought with it, a cold frigid chill upon the Adventurers. It seemed eerily darker than normal for a night within this world and also quiet. Like the denizens themselves had simply disappeared. This sense of eerieness grew larger in those adventurers with higher observation or those with weaker willsm

Roku was quietly watching the center square from the library steps. Her body as rigid as stone, from the distance she could see what was about to hit them. Torch lights grew slowly at first in the three main gates, as the denizens began to form three impossibly sized mobs near the gates of the city. "Seems they've grown in intensity," Roku said quietly though sje remained unclear as to why she thought that.

What happened next was expected by some though the level of death to come this evening would be exceedingly high. The denizens within their mobs began to move into the city killing any whom identified as an adventurer however, their level of cruelty would not stop with a single death.

Someone had coordinated this well for when an adventurer returned to life they were almost immediately attacked again from within the temple of Rebirth. Roku bit her lip and shivered to herself as screams of agony and hatred filled the city. The denizens were attempting to salughter them all permanently, this bought a fear within Roku one that oozed familiarity in her mind. She didn't recall what happened exactly but, she knew to avoid running out of chances.

As the mobs continued to hunt though the city, a voice spoke up beside her one she was almost expecting to appear,
"The die has been cast, I will await near the den for the survivors." Roku locked eyes with Sun and simply nodded her head. He then vanished from sight and Roku placed her whistle to her lips. She blew upon it and in a blast of faded smoke, her loyal mount stood beside her.

Roku pet the creature,
"Let's go Icey, while we can." Roku sat upon the back of her mount and pet it's ears before saying in a firm voice, "Onward to glory!" With this spoken the Frost Wolf let out a growl before dashing off with Roku firmly gripping upon the wolf's fur.

Event Details for The Escape:

The situation is obvious here or so I hope, Escape from Aparches. Ensure that your character does not achieve this by dying as this will equal a permanent kill in this portion of the event. The Denizens have the temple on lockdown as was mentioned within the post.

There are three major mobs moving inward into the city. You are free to escape in any logical fashion and the goal is to arrive at Gleamfangs Den, which is of course where everything started to go downhill.

Once everyone arrives there we'll move on to the second phase of the event. owo so please enjoy owo

After the hunt with the other two of his new party, breakfast were had before Joshua moved on to another task. Did he had breakfast with them or without them? He does not remember clearly, his head was on some other matter, the matter of the weapons that he shall adopt next. Joshua did not tell his party members about it; it might have been bad not to have consulted them first but he had wanted to surprise them. And so, he sold the loot he had gathered from the hunt and traded in his current equipment.

With that, he then went on to buy what he believes to be the most effective addition to the new party, a bow for quick long range support, which the party currently lacks, and a dagger, allowing more flexibility in combat for Joshua himself. For the armor, he chose hardened leather, which makes much less sound than metal armor when moving around, giving him full advantage of his stealth. Additionally, he also got a thick hide cloak that goes down to his waist for extra protection and those cold lonely nights.

By the time Joshua is finished with his shopping, it was near twilight, and as the sun slowly sets and darkness blankets the town, the atmosphere began to change, something dark and heavy was in the air. An uncanny silence was about the town, and the gazes of the Denizens became like daggers. Perhaps it was already so this morning, but right now, Joshua felt it clearly without a doubt. Aware of his own standing as an Adventurer, he stepped into the shadows cast by the setting sun and disappears into the alleyways.

Soon it became clear that the Denizens are out for blood, hunting down Adventurers as if witches. First the unprovoked ambush and now this, what have they done to deserve all of this? Joshua had an inkling of an answer, and he suspects that the disparity of Adventurers and Denizens are perhaps partially to blame. But that matter not now, right now he needs to leave, as far away as possible, remaining will only invite doom.

From his watchful position within the shadows, Joshua began to navigate his way around through the alleyways. It is now clear that the Denizens are the enemy and so he avoids contact the best he can. If in his path he found one with his back turned, he'll cut him down quickly and silently, with his hand upon his mouth and dagger upon his throat, slaying the unsuspecting Denizen quickly and silently. This too was a skill gained from observation, though he did not remember from what. If he found a Denizen in his way, but in a distance, he would use his newly acquired bow and shoot him down. Though Joshua does not possess absolute accuracy, he is adept enough to hit his mark from afar, and if from mid-range, he is almost guarantied to hit wherever he aimed for. This is not a skill obtained from observation, instead, the very fibers of his muscles had a familiarity with the motions and sensation of wielding the weapon known as the bow.

Though he had first wished to regroup with his party, there was no way to do so in this chaos. Perhaps they should have setup a rendezvous point ahead of time that, even if not for such a situation, would have made it convenient to meet up with each other and not have to run about town in random hoping to run into one another. Joshua quickly decided to head outside of town. With the town in such a state, no doubt someone as level headed as Orlando will decided to get away from here... now let's just hope Kala is around his vicinity.

Upon reaching the gate, Joshua spot two Denizen watchfully guarding the place. The regular guards are not here. Perhaps they have been subdued, or perhaps they too have joined the mob. Nevertheless, Joshua needs to leave and those two are in his way. Seeing that they are indeed regular Denizens, Joshua could probably take them head on and win, but fearing that they might be able to alert nearby mobbers, Joshua decided on a different approach.

From his blind spot, the Denizen watching the gate head a quiet whistle passing by, and in that instant he found burying right into his neck, an arrow, killing him instantly. The other with him was shocked at the sudden death of his comrade and his mind had not yet registered that the arrow came from behind him. When he finally does, it was too late, a dagger had already visited his exposed neck, digging right into his throat, a hand had muffled him without his notice, preventing any attempt to cry for help. His body soon fell limp, and was caught by the cold embrace of death as his body topples into the ground. The way is now clear for Joshua, and without hesitation, he made a run for it, not even bothering to look back.

And so he ran, as far away from town as possible. But where should he go? As he asks himself this question, he spots the eye-patched girl from his party running by on an armored mount. She does not seem to have noticed him, perhaps due to him being on the side of her eye-patch. But he now has both an objective and a destination, to regroup with his party, and to do so he must first catch up to the one before him. As the eye-patched girl rides off into the distance, Joshua traces her path, attempting to follower her to her destination.

He tried. He promised he tried. He did everything he could. He had taken the faith of so many of his friends upon his shoulders, and this was the outcome. This was the finale. Betrayal once again. Willful, complete betrayal. He could hear them now, crying out in agony as death upon death came to them. It was slowly driving him mad. He could hear chants ringing through the air, the cruel laughter of the Denizens as they chased down everyone they could get their hands on, the tortured screams of his brethren.

It terrified him that this felt nostalgic and familiar.

He supposed it had something to do with the vision he had previously. But for him to be this used to such terrors. He felt his heart stop for a moment, before resuming its calm beating. He very well could be considered a monster. But now, now he couldn't truly bring himself to care. The Denizens had shown their true colors in this town, and he would make them pay for it. He would make them suffer like they are making his friends suffer. Absently he knew that not all Denizens were like this, but he couldn't care. Many people down there dying had nothing to do with what had occurred before, yet they were inflicted pain beyond reason.

The struggle came in his next course of action. He could leave now, and possibly never get his revenge, he could try to help as many adventurers as he can, and once again possibly never get his revenge, or he could lay waste to the town. He knew the proper course of action would be to help his fellow adventurers. But what better way to help then to take all the attention to himself? Gazing down at the street from his vantage point on one of the roofs, he spotted what he was looking for. A pair of adventurers were running, seemingly aimlessly. Scaling down the side of the he building he stopped in front of the two, holding up his hands to show he meant no harm. "Hey, hey, I'm friendly. Look it's dangerous around these parts, yeah? Look, if you head down the road and take a left you should be able to get out of town and from there I suggest you get to GleamFangs Den. It should be clear, and far enough that the Denizens won't follow." Receiving two smiles in return, he watched them follow his directions as they ran. This had given him a slight pause though. He very well could unleash hell on the Denizens, that he knew he was capable of. But how would others think of him? A monster, a villain, a demon. Would such a petty revenge be worth it? He knew there would be others that desired revenge, no matter how much he didn't want to admit it. He would just cause an endless cycle of terror, one that he had a feeling the Adventurers would lose because of their biggest weakness. The temple, where they always return to would become a torture ground for anyone unlucky enough to die.

Sighing he resigned himself to the course of action that should be taken for the betterment of all. A quick incantation later and a small ball of fire was shot into the sky, releasing quite a large explosion with no real power behind it. This trend continued as Alexander slowly ambled through the streets, shooting off fireballs at frequent intervals. He simply hoped that the Denizens would buy his bait and follow the trail of fire he left in his wake. Eventually, he reached an alleyway where he released the largest fireball yet, and as it exploded, he climbed up the side of a building, and watched from the roof. He noted various small groups of Denizens did follow his trail, but not as much as he had wanted. Still, what he had done was enough he supposed. Slinking off towards his next destination, his mind began to once again drift to the current situation. How many people were dead because of this treachery? Who would instigate such a thing? Why would they do so? These questions taunted him each time another cry of pain pierced the air. How he would love to do nothing more than to drop down into the street and run his claws through every person that decided that the slaughter of innocents was an acceptable thing to do. Oh, he knew people would call him a hypocrite for such a statement, but when the carriage was attacked, it was just that, attacked. Many of the adventurers here didn't do any such thing, many of them never even seeing battle. And yet they had to suffer. It simply made no sense. He knew he couldn't and wouldn't forgive them for their actions, yet he also knew if he did anything in response to this he'd be viewed as the vile one. And that would make any possibility of keeping the adventurers safe nonexistent due to the mistrust that would undoubtedly stem from his actions. While still trapped within his thoughts, Alexander found had finally found his way to his desired location. The library. Making sure that no one was around, which he already knew but it never hurt to check again, he slipped inside and called out, his hands in his claws at the slightest hint of trouble. "Ashe? Ashe you still in here? There may or may not be terrible riots that involve slaughtering the Adventurers over and over again going on outside and you may or may not be in danger of being overrun by a stampede of Denizens that may or may not want to ceremonially spill your blood. Maybe. So, if you are still here, you may or may not want to leave town at the soonest possible time." As he said this, he slowly moved about the library, looking around for Ashelynn. He hoped that she was already gone, and by that he meant safe. Eventually the mobs would get here, and he'd rather not fight his way through them. Well, he would actually, but dying so soon, and most likely forever, would put a bit of a hamper in his plans. And by that he meant a lot. Snapping out of his thoughts he called out once more. "Ashe?"

As soon as Orlando had finished hunting with Joshua and Kala, he had decided to head back to town to sell his items netting himself a nice profit of gold. In doing so, he decided to buy more rations, potions, a bedroll just in case and some armor that was light, yet could take quite a few blows. As the sun began to set, Orlando was walking back to the Inn when all of a sudden, a mob was forming at what looked to be the gates of Aparches. Sensing danger, he dashed behind a wall to observe what was going on. A giant mob of denizens was forming to probably take revenge for the massacre the other day. Noting this, Orlando decided that Aparches was no longer a safe haven for adventurers like himself and the others that he had met. Planning his escape, Orlando noted that there were two entrances into Aparches from the wilderness. However, there was one entrance that most people probably would not notice, there was a cluster of buildings around the wall to the right of one such entrance that could be easily traversed if someone were to try. No denizen in their right mind would try to attempt climbing such a cluster of buildings as it was not common knowledge of the route. Deciding to try his luck, Orlando began to climb up the alley he was in on jutting bricks and windowsills to reach the top of the roofs of Aparches. Taking a quick look around, there we indeed some Denziens on the rooftops but in terrible spots for a pursuit if someone tried to chase him.

((Will continue this post later, sorry for the shortness of it.))

Roku remained situated upon her faithful mount, she However, was far less concerned with keeping her kill rate down. As she rode through the city, she fired off magically enchanted arrows into any denizens that may have crossed her path.

Roku eventually made it outside of the city and wiped her cheek with her sleeve. A smear of blood was left upon her face and her mount licked it clean just as Roku stepped off of him. She lightly pet the creatures face and looked towards the entrance of the Den.

She walked up to the entrance and took a look towards the city. Her eye spotted Joshua and she gestured into the dens entrance but, remained silent. The den itself was empty and there were fresh corpses of wolves upon the ground. Roku stood in the back of the cave and board slightly to Sun Zhao whom was drinking a tankard of ale. "Your early, I've made some of the others go and pick up any whom may need extra assistance."

Roku calmly nodded her head and spoke in a soft voice, "I don't remember much about any of you but, I feel like I should trust you." Zhao nodded at her comment and took another sip of his drink. His usual mirth suppressed due to the situation within the city.

Zhao handed her a tankard as well and patted her head,
"You wouldn't want to remember everything yet. Plus much of it still haunts even myself. Though I barely remember it as well." Roku simply nodded again and drank her ale while awaiting any others whom may return.

Joshua followed, as quickly as his feet could take him, he wouldn't want to lose track of the only person he knows within the mile after all. By the end of it, one way or another, Joshua found the eye-patched girl heading into a cave, or rather, a den by the looks of the corpses of wolves laying about the ground. Did the girl killed them, or was someone else here? Joshua assumes the latter as there would have been no reason for the girl to head over here otherwise.

Towards the back, Joshua happens upon the girl speaking with a man with a tankard of ale from the smell of it. This man has a flippant look about him, but yet, for some reason, Joshua felt a certain dreadfulness about this man. Cautiously, Joshua approaches, his expression appears nonchalant, turning to the girl as he inserts himself amongst them.

"Friend of yours?"

As Orlando stood upon the roof, he was going to have to be quick as someone running on rooftops would be noticed contrary to popular belief. He then started to sprint and he heard a yell as one of the denizens had probably noticed him. Fortunately they couldn't aim very well as several arrows whizzed past his head and body quickly as he continued his run across the rooftops. As his run was chronicled by several ups and downs of the roofs, as well as some near misses of arrows. The wall itself was in sight as well as a VERY large number of mobbed denizens. Another yell was heard and almost the entire mob turned to look at Orlando as he was about to reach his mark. ~Oh for the love of-,~ Orlando's mental thoughts were interrupted by an increased in arrows, more well aimed ones in fact that he had to fall to the rooftop to dodge some of them. ~Shit, now what do I do?~ he asked himself. ~Think Orlando think! There's got to be something you can improvise with!~ Orlando's eyes darted around for something as he began to hear the clattering of blades and maces on belt loops from denizens climbing the building sides, no doubt having a much easier time than he was. While he continued to look around, he saw a wooden pallet causing an idea to dawn on him. ~That… might actually work.~ He crawled over to the pallet and grabbed it with his left arm making sure that it was strongly gripped. Orlando then stood up quickly and began to run as out of the corner of his eye, the climbing denizens had just reached the top rung of what looked to be a ladder. He then heard,

"GET THAT BASTARD!"

"DONT LET HIM GET AWAY!"

Thanking his lucky stars, he felt the impacts of the arrows as they hit the wooden pallet. As temporary a solution this was, he was lucky as he continued to run until he was forced to throw the pallet and jump from the last roof onto the wall itself. Orlando climbed the wall and just as he had climbed to the path, he felt a sharp pain in his left leg as an arrow had lodged itself in his thigh. ~Shit!~ Orlando ripped out the arrow and drank one of his health potions in an attempt to stop the bleeding and loss of his health. The potion did the trick, but now he was stuck with an issue, how to jump from the wall to the ground below without hurting himself badly. Scanning around, he noticed there was a conveniently coiled rope pile next to a couple of crates. ~People really need to keep track of their supplies~ Orlando thought to himself as he tied the rope to a embedded lamp in the wall and began to scale the wall downwards. When he was about 3/4ths of the way down, he felt the rope give with a "Creeeaaak" noise from what seemed to be the lamp giving way. ~Oh F-~ Orlando was interrupted as he fell to the ground with a rather loud thud. ~Ow! ow! ow!~ Orlando drank another health potion to recover and then began to run to Gleamfang's Den, a place where he could regroup and collect his thoughts.
