Fandom A Chance Meeting at Ilex Forest

Under your influence his body seems to right itself and he gets up and dashes, just evading the attacking bird, which swings around for another attempt. His ears perk up to follow as he tries to compensate and avoid the return, but he's not positive on where to go and it's obvious the next attack will hit dead on.

Danielle's eyes glow blue and sheets tries to force the tallow to dive bomb the ground. If it misses you should shock it again.

Tailow finds itself destabilized by your attack, and ends up missing, nailing the forest floor and then taking off again, but Simon, more by your command than of his own volition, hits it with another Thundershock, this time bringing it to the ground.

"Good job Simon!" She said, though she wished he thought of it himself. She walked to the downed tailow and saw if it was still alive.

"D-d-d-did...I kill it?" He looks a little beaten up, but that's nothing compared to the fear on his face. And then you remember he had no memories of hunting -- he's never done it before.

"I--I was just---I didn't mean--I mean---I-I--I..." he begins to tear up.

She hadn't expected that, and she began to feel really bad. She didn't know.... "Oh Simon it's gonna be ok" she said trying her best to comfort him without messing with his head. She snuggled close to him under his chin.

"B-b-but I was just...trying to learn...and now I--I--I kil--" he can't bring himself to say it and begins to cry, which is itself a problem as half the forest begins to echo with the sounds of the baby Pokemon's weeping. It's a perfect lure for predators.

"I--I--I'm no---not---a---goo---good---Pi---" and from there his sobbing becomes incoherent.

She knew that this wasn't safe and ruefully used her powers. "It's ok Simon you're not a bad pichu." We was a little panicked but mostly sad for Simon her eyes wet but not dripping

He begins to slowly calm down, but his sad eyes and quiet expression indicate that even under your power he's still very regretful. There's no time to think on that now, though -- you hear a faint growl in the bush.

Mightyena.

The battered Pichu is neither emotionally or physically fit to fight...not without you taking matters into your own hands...and then it appears -- a Mightyena with hungry eyes and a greedy smile comes bounding out of the foliage.

Danielle got spooked, but instead of normal fear building she felt anger. Who would attack a poor crying pichu? "leave us alone you big meanie! She tries to tel him. (Oh no h..he's a dark type).

"Well hello, Vulpix. I suppose you and I have the same idea, hm? Unfortunately, my kiddos need supper tonight, so I'm afraid that I'm going to have to take that little guy you've been hypnotizing off your paws. They need him a bit more than you do, so...how about just letting me take him, hm? No muss, no fuss -- I'd really prefer to make this a clean catch. I'll even trade you some berries I found so that everyone gets a good meal!"

Simon is honestly too heartbroken over his previous action to fight this idea and just sort of stands there, half hypnotized, half sad.

"No he's my friend you big meanie get away from him" She said getting in front of him.

Mightyena, of course, doesn't hear, being a Dark-type. "Listen...Vulpix...I-- I don't want to battle you for this Pichu -- I just really need to make sure my children get fed and...I don't have enough berries for all of them. Please don't make me go through you to get to him."

She actually does appear to be in earnest...not that it matters.

"I can you more berries!"She offers trying to save her friend. "I could get loads more for you"

"Why...why go through all that work, young one? Is it really that important to you to have a Pichu for your dinner? Besides, I know there aren't any berries for at least a mile from here -- far too long a distance for you to walk."

Simon is just now realizing his danger, but doesn't stir.

"It's a fair trade I'm offering, is it not?"

"I..I don't want to eat him, he's my friend..." She then thought of something. "I could get some birds to do it!"

"W-wait...he's your friend? Oh, sweetheart, if you had told me that I would have given up the idea of feeding him to my babies much sooner. My sincerest apologies -- I didn't realize you were trying to comfort him...but what's this? A Tailow...and roasted rather recently. Perhaps...yes, I think this would suffice for my children. I don't suppose this is...also yours?"

Her previously aggressive stance has switched to a far more casual one. The weeping Pichu, at the mention of Tailow, begins to cry again, much to Mightyena's dismay.

"You shouldn't cry out here, little one. Not all hunters are as compassionate as I. You should both go home, and soon!"

"Yeah Simon we should go." She said. "Go ahead.. take it." She said in a hushed tone to the mighteyena mother. "Don't be dad Simon..It's ok" She told him though she was wanting to cry a little now.

Mightyena nods, then takes off with the bird in her mouth, leaving the two of you alone. The dejected Pichu looks at you and says nothing, only hanging his head and waiting for you to lead the way home.

At least Mightyena didn't cause trouble...

"C'mon Simon let's go home.. it's gonna be ok." she said comforting the poor thing without using her powers. Her eyes were moist but she held strong. In a way she was lucky her panic might've gotten to her if her friend didn't need help.

He follows the Vulpix into the cave, making for a rather solemn procession. Once inside, he flops on the ground, listless.

She pushed him a little with her snout "C'mon Simon, it's gonna be alright." She said. "You didn't do anything wrong, you're a good Pichu." She tried to convince him.

"If I didn't do anything wrong," he wonders out loud, "then why do I feel like I'm so...so bad?" This is followed by a bit more sobbing.

She sat down and snuggled up to him. "I..i don't know, you're just not used to it I guess....." she said sadly starting to doubt herself. She nuzzled him, trying to comfort him, and now herself some.

He nuzzles back, but otherwise isn't much inclined to move. Time passes.

"Danielle? I have returned and -- what in heavens name happened here? Are you two alright?" Balaa is all concern, walking around the duo with a concerned frown.
