I just had the situation where I was deciding whether to burn my dinner or stay caught up with the story. That should never have to be a problem.

Posting limits are a must. One or two a day unless Everyone has had a chance to post is a good idea. Maybe we talk about how events are going to unfold a little bit before everyone in the room writes. "My character did their thing, doesn't matter what anyone else did." Those are my main points.
