I wasn't really pointing particularly on the longevity of the format but the longevity of the game itself. DnD has been with us for over 30 years and new creatures are still being developed. DnD also still catered more to the combat-monger audience even in 3rd ed. And in a combat-heavy mideival...
Most of those creatures in DnD have been there for many, many years even when TSR still owned the game. It wouldn't be fair to compare the number of creatures in Exalted than of DnD simply that DnD has a way head start over it. The reason why DnD has so many creatures is that it originally...
I see. My bad for for thinking you misinterpreted it and that it was your character. i was half-awake when I the first post. ^^;
Well, that dark fate will definitely give your player motivation to search for a remedy when he finds out that the deathlord screwed him over. I hope your player can...
Hmm... Interesting idea but I think you may have misinterpreted how dark fate works. Its not merely how the dark fate is affecting you now but what is the end result. a 4-pt dark fate is VERY bad and not to be taken lightly. If I were your ST your character will slowly lose his sanity and/or...
I see. Correct me if I'm wrong so basically all the those extra abilities that the dynast has are mostly or all taken after the character has exaltled into a DB. Since he's a member one of the great houses the DB is forced to learn them. Makes sense. Any other opinions?
Like the title says. I know its been like that since 1E and that 10 of those points go to specific abilites. But what makes them "better" than other Exalted ability-wise? If it simply their upbringing what about someone who was born and raised in one of the great houses and ended up exalting as...
My opinion is that the solars succumbed to the great curse rather than make it a scape goat to why they acted that way they did. It doesn't take a great curse to make someone fall into hubris and corruption even for a solar. I wouldn't completely blame the sids or the DBs for the usurpation. And...
Thanks for the input. I guess the excellencies were created to simplify the 1E dice/success boosting charms even though some of them may seem weaker than the 1E counterparts they replaced. Its less of a headache to remember every charm effect in 2E than it was in 1E and the charms are more defined.
I noticed in 2E that some of the 1E charms were removed. An example would be Harmonious Presence Meditation. If a 1E character who had those charms were to converted to 2E would it automatically translate to one of the ability excellencies? The closest charm to Harmonious Presence Meditation...
I'm planning to play a Twilight in my friend's upcoming game and I intend to take sorcery. In 1E all you had to do was complete some "quests" and have sufficient essence and occult skill to learn each circle. According to my friend that in 2E you need to sacrifice something important in exchange...
I haven't gotten myself a copy of Wonders of a Lost Age yet. Can anyone tell me how different is creating a warstrider from a regular artifact? And what is the minimum dots for the common warstrider?
I remember reading somewhere about detailed info bout the dreaded Solar pirate Moray Darktide but I'm not sure which book it was. He was briefly mentioned in the Player's Guide but says little about his history. Does anyone here know I which book I can find him?
Pardon me for asking but can someone give me a brief refresher on who Kejak is and which book can I find him? Its been a while since I last read about him. Â :?
Aye. Looks like I may have to create a whole bunch of charms for Composure and Resolve if I want to use those attributes. I'll give it a shot though this sounds like I will need a lot of time to brainstorm and research on.  If not then  I can always use the original rules. I only wish the...
2 questions. How did the deathlords come to terms with each other and decide to device a way to divide creation? Especially since they don't trust each other anymore. And what about the mortals? do they have their own world or are they all scattered in all of the other worlds?
And no, I don't...
Has anyone tried using the new WoD attributes for Exalted? Exalted 2nd ed still uses the traditional WW rules (which is still good in my book) yet I still find the appearance attribute to be lacking or of little use as an attribute. The only attribute changes in the NWoD is that appearance was...
