Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

(Short post so you guys don't have to feel the need to wait on me or anything. Just busy today~)

"I might as well go with you then too." He partially mumbled after Echo and Aidan signed on, "No sense in having you go and get yourself killed after I fix you up. Besides I'll need to fill up on some of my medical supplies after I use some of them on you." Great now he'd signed on for an even longer group time. When Austin finally did leave there we're going to be some hurt feelings, he could tell, some of these women we're getting their hopes up on all of them staying together. Then he'd be the ass to shatter that by ditching at the most opportune time, he didn't want to live his last days in a group, he had a plan, to see the world. Or atleast as much of it as possible before he bit the bullet.

Skylynn smiled down at Josh and cooed softly at him as he started to fuss. "Shh. It's okay. Mommy's here." She whispered, holding him close to her chest. Josh settled down almost immediately, and Skylynn wiped the tears from her eyes, she let out a soft yawn and slowly unbent her legs, once again ignoring the pain between her legs.

Holliday shook his head, "No once the baby is born you are going leave and I'll remain perched up here until you are all out of sight. Some one will need to cover you all as you leave, so I'll do it. Once you all are finally gone I'll take my leave. I'll probably meet up with the rest of you by morning because it will take me a while to get to my gear and pack a bit. When you get there find a part that should be easy to clear, we can focus on the rest of the facility tomorrow." Holliday leaned back and heard the crying of the baby, So it begins. "Sounds like you're on," he said to Miyuki, "Go down stairs and tell them. The sooner you all leave the better off we'll all be."

@KathleneWilliams2121

Miyuki smiles a little as she hears the baby crying. She looks over at Holliday, "right," she said as she went down the stairs and sees the two woman and the little child, "Congratulations, Skylynn. Now we need to head out, we will be overcome by those things out there. Holliday will cover us while we take Tiff's jeep."

Skylynn looked up at Miyuki and she slowly nodded her head. "Yeah. Okay." She murmured, sitting up slightly, Josh still resting against her chest, blissfully unaware of the dangers that lurked outside. As she threw her legs over the side of the bed, she paused for a moment, closing her eyes tightly at the pain. A few moments later she opened her eyes again, breathing heavily, both from exhaustion and pain.

"No Skylynn, lie down. You are still in pain," Miyuki said as she trys to think of a way to get her into the Jeep. She goes back up to Holliday who was on the roof, "Do you think you are able to lift a woman to a jeep?" She asks looking at him.

Jennifer was surprised that all of the people here were offering to go.

"I'm really thankful that you all are offering to come and help me get my medicine. But you don't have to. I don't want you to feel as if you are all liable to me. But we'll talk about about this after once we get my wound cleaned. So, let's get a move on with getting my wound cleaned."

Jennifer was almost taken back by everyone offering to go with her. Even if it wasn't for her, the fact that they're going with her means a lot. She was surprised that even Echo was coming. She was convinced she was going to leave them. But maybe now she will stay. She decided to stay quiet and see if she stays or not for sure.

"Maybe we should check what we have before we open it up and start digging around inside my wound. I don't have any antiseptics left. I hope one of you has that to spare. What else would we need? Or is that all you really would need, Austin?"

@Mica @Crono @Lola Shimmer @DarknessSpirit

Echo pulled off her black backpack from her shoulder, throwing it into the ground, she pulled out a antiseptic. She held out her hand for Jennifer to take. "I picked one up a little before I ran into all of you. I think you'll need this more then I ever will."

Holliday was a bit surprised to see Miyuki come back to him. They needed to be going that instant. While he was a little annoyed by her request, he knew it couldn't be helped. "Yeah I can help her into the jeep but if you me to carry her to it that is a different story. Ill at least need the help of another, meaning you. The problem with that is there will be no one left to defend us once we are outside as the asian lady will be busy carrying the baby and trying to get the car started. The other option is that she could put her weight on me and I could help her walk there. She should at least be able to do that or she won't last 5 minutes in this world. I don't really care which option you want to take as long as you pick now."

While wanting for an answer Holliday put his rifle back into his scabbard walked past Miyuki. He began his descent from the roof. "Decide on the way, we need to hurry."

@KathleneWilliams2121

Austin was about to offer the alcohol in his pack, even jacking his thumb up to point at it, mouth agape when Echo threw out her own. The man was quick to backpedal his attempt, if someone else had some then there was no need to offer his any longer. "With that we've got what I need to fix you up." He told her with a wink, "I try to be prepared for anything. If that means making a little less room for food in my pack then so be it."

"Have her lean on you," She said a little annoyed by his reaction. She stays on the roof, with her arrow drawn as she started to shoot some of the walkers that were coming their way already, 'We need to move now.' She thought as she quickly shoots arrows right into their skulls, killing them.

Echo did a fake gasp "Did grumpy- nooooo- did grumpy just-just wink, is grumpy amused? Is grumpy not grumpy?!" She said sarcastically happy with a smirk, she did another fake gasp and smirked then bent down and zipped her backpack up.

When Skylynn tried to stand up, Tiffany became a little worried, because the woman had just given birth. It would be a few days until she could walk again. At least from what she knew. Seeing that she had to help another woman give birth, Tiffany was not really looking forward to it herself. Because they needed to leave soon, Tiffany offered to hold Josh, Skylynn's newborn son along with her Husband's Sweatshirt, seeing how much it meant to her while the new guy and Miyuki helped her out to the Jeep. Because Miyuki seemed really tired and Skylynn needed rest, Tiffany opted to drive so that the two can relax until they find a safe place for the night. There was room in the car for all of them. That much Tiffany knew.

@Mercer

Skylynn slowly handed Josh over to Tiffany when she offered. She placed one of her hands on the nightstand that was next to the bed and braced herself as she began to stand up. She bit her lower lip, and stood up, wobbling slightly with unsteadiness. She knew that they needed to move and soon. She also knew that it was going to be extremely difficult for her to walk, but she was sure as hell going to try. "Okay. Okay. I'm good. It's all good." She stated, closing her eyes. "I'm ready to move when you guys are." She stated.

She sighed when she remembered that Miyuki went to grab Holliday.

"Thank you, Echo, for something that is going to hurt like hell, but clean me up," said Jennifer, looking at the antiseptic, thinking about how much it will hurt. "And if we're going to be nicknaming each other after the Seven Dwarf's, I think I'll have to figure my own out," she said, pondering which one she would be.

Her mind started to turn towards Echo, and how she seems she is going to stay. The curiosity is starting to eat away at Jennifer. She wants to know why she's staying, assuming she is right.

"Echo," started Jennifer, "I thought you were going to leave. You seem like now you want to stay. What's with this sudden change of heart?"

Jennifer was especially intrigued at how she changed her mind so quickly. Jennifer is curious. She questions much to find the answer that satisfies her. Her growing curiosity over Echo's sudden decision to, or at least she assumes, stay with the group, has caught her attention way too much to not ask the question.

In the midst of asking this, Jennifer started to get a little nervous. She feared that the horde they encountered earlier could potentially have followed them to that position. The undead were know to be drawn towards the area of where sound was last heard. And knowing that they were following the truck, they must have went from a sprint to a slow walk now. But they were most likely heading in that direction. But she didn't want to get too worried just yet. They're far enough away the horde catching up to the group would take longer. But she still was worried, but not only by that, by those people that showed up when she was at the house. She had no time to examine the bodies to see what sort of group they belonged to. She assumed they were one of the groups that go around killing people, stealing their stuff, and doing horrendous acts to survivors. She was lucky to get away. She was hoping to never run into them again.

Echo scratche d her arm and then said quietly while looking up at the dark sky "because theres nothing to love, to care about, and maybe when I die, I'll be able to die with a good heart, not an empty one. Maybe with someone saying goodbye, or trying to save me." Her tone was almost solemn and her mind seemed faraway. She suddenly snapped back to reality, "I'll be right back, I left someth g in the truck." She said in her usual tone again, her excuse for wanting to get away fro a moment. She walked over to the truck and sat into the back seat, while closing the door.

When Holliday walked into the room, the first thing he noticed was that the baby was a boy, "Good, now I'm slightly less out numbered." It was his attempt to lighten the mood. Next he looked at the mother Skylynn, he didn't want to imagine the kind of pain she was in. Still, it couldn't beat getting ripped open by zombies so he decided to get on with the show. He slowly and carefully helped her up, "Ok just one step at a time, kind of like the old christmas song.

Put one foot in front of the other

And soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor.

You put one foot in front of the other

And soon you'll be walking out the door."

He sang it just to keep her focused on moving and distracted from the pain. They took there time as they went, what should have only been a minute took ten. Holliday knew she was hurting but didn't let her stop, because he knew if he did she may not want to continue. "Come on, were almost there. I know you may not want to here this anymore today, but just keep on pushing." As they finally approached the car a few loan walkers approached them. He could only smile when Miyuki lodged an arrow in each of their heads and they dropped limp. As he passed one how ever it turned out not to be as dead as he had hoped. It reached for his leg and he did what he had to. "Sorry Sky, but brace." Holliday kicked the arrow in hard, pushing it into the brain where it needed to be the first time around.

Finally they were at the jeep. Carefully he helped Sky into the vehicle, and took his time to make sure she was comfortable. He could trust Miyuki to take care of any Zeds that decided to approach them. "Alright, you're all clear to go. Miyuki will fill you in on all the details of the plan, but basically we are relocating to the lumber mill on the river. I need to go grab my truck so I will arrive much later than all of, but it shouldn't be more than a few hours more. If I'm not there by mid day, I'm dead so forget about me. When I arrive I should be in a White Dodge 3500 dually. Good luck, and good night." With that Holliday was off.

Miyuki sees Holliday help kill the Zed, as he calls them, and help Skylynn in the Jeep. Once he left to get his truck, Miyuki jumps down from the roof, tucking and rolling on the ground. When she landed, her ankle rolled as she almost face planted but kept running and jumped into the back of the Jeep, "Floor it." She said as she continued to shoot the zombies that were coming right at them.

After getting Skylynn into the backseat of the jeep so that she could lay down, Tiffany handed her Josh and the sweatshirt before getting into the Driver's Seat. When she got into the Driver's Seat, she started the car as soon as Miyuki jumped into the back of the jeep and told her to floor it. She put the car into Drive before slamming her foot onto the Accelerator and the car went from 0-40 within the span of a few seconds. But since no one but her had their seat belt on, she slowed down when the infected were out of sight. Looking back she saw that everyone was okay. Or at least hoped so. So that Skylynn can stretch her legs, she stopped the car. "I have a few blankets and a pillow in the back. Miyuki can reach back to get them for you." she said as she continued the drive. "And Miyuki, once you get those, you can join me up front. Give Skylynn and Josh some room."

@KathleneWilliams2121 @Aryn Harris

Miyuki grabs the blankets and pillows that Tiff was talking about and helps Skylynn and Josh to get comfortable. She then climbs over the seat to get into the passenger seat in the front, "Is everyone ok?" She asks. She hoped everyone was ok. She keeps her arrows and her bows close to her as she got ready for just in case as she told Tiff where to go, "Holliday will catch up with us there." She said.

Skylynn let out a small whimper as soon as she sat down in the back if the jeep. "Thank you." She rasped out, taking Josh back from Tiffany and leaned heavily against the back seat. When Miyuki got in the car they sped off quickly.

When they slowed down Skylynn cradled both the sweatshirt and her son in her arms, and allowed Miyuki to grab the blankets and pillows that Tiffany mentioned and help her get comfortable. She watched as Miyuki moved to the front of the car and she relaxed against the pillows, before covering herself and Josh with the blankets.

That was odd, thought Jennifer, after Echo went into the truck.

"So I guess she's going to stay then," she says, turning to everyone else.

This made Jennifer somewhat happy. It's nice to know that someone still wants to do good for others in this new world. When the world became overrun by undead, people became murderers, rapists, and thieves. Some people, however, were different. They tried to carry over the morals of the "old world" into this "new world." While survival does make people do things that can be drastic, and a lot of times, people break because of these things, some still do try to keep the good in this world. Jennifer tried to be one of them. It is true that being so friendly can get you killed in this world. Jennifer knows that. But she tries to keep some good in her, to give others hope that not all hope is gone.

Jennifer's thought process was disturbed by a sound in the distance.

"Guys, quiet," she says, listening intently. "Do you hear that?"

She kept listening as a noise started to grow that sounded distant. And it was hard to make out with the wind blowing and other noises making it hard to hear. Still, Jennifer continued to listen.

"Oh, shit... Everyone, in the truck, now! The horde's back. We've got to get the hell out of here," Jennifer said, running to the driver seat, and getting in the truck.

"Shit, shit, shit.... C'mo! Hot wire, damn it," Jennifer said, fumbling with the wires.

The horde suddenly appeared around a hundred yards away, down the road.

"It's not starting," she screamed, still trying to get the truck to start.

@Mercer

"Fuck!" Echo yelled in panic and outburst as she saw the horde again. She didn't know anything about cars, but she wished she could've helped. She got out of the truck and had her pistol out, she grabbed her backpack and threw it into the back. "Somebody fucking help her!" She yelled, among her pistol at the horde, and growing more panicked as the horde got a little faster.

"Keep calling me Grumpy and I'll let you get eaten." He warned, halfheartedly joking. To be honest, Austin didn't fully trust Echo to stick around. Like him, she didn't seem interested in being around people permanently. Which meant that just like him she planned to leave, the question was would she ditch them if things got too rough on the way. Austin while morally not the most innocent still has some sort of code, he'll leave when the times right and not before.

Echo got back in the truck, there was a minute of silence and then the zed noises started. Dammit, I knew we shouldn't have stood around this long. Austin jumped into the bed of the truck once again, crouched low at the very back near the tailgate as he sized up the mass of dead heading their way. Then came the panic from some of the others, Austin moved to the back window of the truck and slid it open. "Take a breath and keep trying!" His tongue quick but rather calm, "Is it not working because your nervous or is it not working because it won't work? You have to make that choice, if its not working we need to run now! Our lives are in your hands." The man looked back over his shoulder, if she thought she could hot-wire it and it didn't work they might stay too long and all end up dead. Austin knew nothing of hot-wiring a car so he'd let them figure it out.

Aidan wasn't all to happy at the sound of Austin coming with them on their trip to get supplies. It wasn't that she disliked his company but fetching supplies for him would have been an easy way to make up for the little help she received earlier. Perhaps the trip would give her a small chance to repay him and Tori, or at least give them a chance to get to know one another better. The more people one got along with these days, the better one's chances were to survive. She couldn't be sure, but it almost looked as though Austin hadn't really wanted to stay with them. Aidan didn't want to think he would leave too soon though. Having someone with medical knowledge was a huge comfort, even if said person was a little reserved.

At the mention of the need for an antiseptic, Aidan's hands almost defensively went over her pockets. She didn't actually have any but she didn't like the idea of giving others her hard earned medical supplies. If she wanted to get along with them perhaps she should get rid of that mentality but she still hoped they wouldn't need her ibuprofen soon. She almost couldn't believe that Echo could so willingly give the antiseptic away like that. While her fighting mentality had been threatening it definitely didn't seem like she wasn't generous. She certainly seemed to be managing to integrate herself fairly well, not that Aidan trusted her yet. Perhaps she was resisting this too much, but trusting every seemed too risky at the moment. Here she was with people who seemed to genuinely be attempting to care about one another and she ultimately was still trying to save her own skin. It would be difficult to fully break this habit these days. When it came to relationships, so very little was assured. Depending on who you got close to she might end up being hindered or killed rather than helped. She could at least try her best to help some of the group, even if she wasn't too fond of all of them. As long as they didn't get her killed.

Jennifer called their attention to the sound of distant groans. Of coarse this happened now. The universe just loved testing its subjects. Aidan reloaded her gun quickly when inside but as Jennifer seemed to have little luck hot-wiring the car, she swung the door open to start shooting if needed. She wished she could offer more help but she only knew how to drive, her knowledge on cars went no further. As Jennifer took longer and the zombies got closer, Aidan became more prepared to run. She looked around in the car and remembered that it should have an alarm as well. If they needed to run she could set off the alarm to thin the horde of zombies they were running from. Providing distractions to give herself a head start from these creatures is one of the reasons she has made it this long.

"People certainly aren't putting you under much pressure now," her sarcastic voice was clearly somewhat shaky. It was a minor attempt to lighten the mood and calm Jennifer slightly but the look of the gigantic horde starting to come their way was worrying her.
