Realistic or Modern Zombie Apocalypse

Seeing the two girls make it inside gave Austin hope that this might work, hearing the shots just as he entered. The closest asking for a count which Austin snorted mid-run, "Too many!" He shouted, then took a look back out of curiosity. It was hard to tell as he slammed the door, it wouldn't hold long that was obvious. The girls we're shouting ahead that the first floor was clear, though there we're too many rooms for them to have cleared all that quickly but he assumed she meant that the immediate way up was clear. The man didn't take time to catch his breath as he rushed after them, the sound of the zeds slamming against the door in an attempt to get in.

Once at the stairs he stopped, deciding to keep an eye behind them and let the other two deal with what was ahead. Austin took a breath as he relaxed midway up the staircase with his pistol. 1....The door they'd entered busted open. ...2..... The group of dead rushed to squeeze through. ....3.... The moment one of zeds touched the staircase he fired a shot, it went down, two others moved over it and Austin fired two more shots, one missed completely the other knocked the zed over. If I can create a traffic jam I can buy us some time. He knew it wouldn't last long, but there would be plenty of stumbling for the dead.

Holliday let out a hearty laugh. "The day I run out of bullets is day that the world really ends for me. When I was a competition shooter I'd usually shoot at least 1000 rounds in a weekend. If you didn't know, thats a lot. You can't but that kind of ammo off the shelf or else you would go broke. So naturally we did what many others did and bought reloading equipment. It allows myself to reuse my spent casings creating brand new rounds. The machine however is a pain in the butt to set up so only do it when I can reload large quantities. When the shit hit the fan I already had several thousand rounds preloaded, more than enough. Ive barely made a dent in my supply as I usually don't go through more than 3-5 a day. I felt the need to save you guys for some reason so today was an exception. Theoretically as long as I have the materials I can make bullets until kingdom come. I have plenty of brass and primers, the tricky items are bullets themselves and powder. Still I have enough of those last two make at least 20,000 easy. Ive been looking to acquire some bullet molds so I can start replenishing those. As far a powder goes, in theory I know how to make the old fashioned black kind. Though it's not preferred, it would more than get any job I needed done."

Holliday had sucked his lollipop down to about half size, but decided to bite into it. He chewed it for a second and then threw the stick off of the rooftop. He then leaned back into a reclining position and tipped his hat down to shade his eyes. He wished he still had his phone as he wanted to listen to some tunes but it was downstairs. Finally he started humming 100 bottles of beer on the wall whilst he looked on for any approaching zombies. At around 66 bottles, he finally spoke up. "So what are your plans after this, will you stay with these women or go it alone?"

@KathleneWilliams2121

"Don't know," she says as she looks up at the sky, "I think I will stay with them. With a baby on the way and a child already born, they would be huge targets and won't make it on their own. Someone needs to be there to protect them and make sure they are safe." She says as she sighs, "Again, not the smartest choice considering the way the world is, but they need someone and I am not going to abandon them just for my own needs."

@Mercer

Skylynn nodded her head. "Sorry." She mumbled, feeling Tiffsny shift so she wouldn't rest on her stomach. She sighed heavily and began to rub her stomach lightly.

"You and Miyuki and the other guy should go on without me once the baby's born... I'll only slow you guys down. I'm not stupid. As soon as I start scream I'll attract more zombies and that is not what you guys need. I'll find somewhere safe. For me and my baby." Sky said softly.

Tori was pacing back and forth on the roof top in an agitated state. The shit gun was held firmly in her hands and her eyes never left the building she had watched the others run into, and that massive hoard that had followed them in. On the bright side at least her words seemed to have some kind of affect on grumpy butt, he was helping after. She on the other hand was standing up here being useless. Tori bit down on her lip and stopped walking just flat out staring over at the building now, She could feel the clammy sweat that was building on her hands bit she took in a long slow breath to calm herself down. There was no point loosing her cool now, that wasn't going to get any one anywhere, especially herself. "I should be helping" she muttered to herself as if telling herself off for being so damn useless.

She headed to the back of the gas station where she had been helped up and sat at the edge ready to get down, Tori was just kinda trying to figure out if she would be more hindrance than help down there right now. She couldn't use the gun that much was true buuut, Tori inspected the butt of the gun she could sure as heck bludgeon some heads in with that and she had her taser. Besides she couldn't really give a lecture about helping and then sit here and do nothing could she? and the size of the Zeds that went in there after them..kinda looked like they could do with someone bringing up the rear...or? The blonde smiled as her eyes drifted to the car. It needed hot wired that's what the girl had said right well while they were playing distraction she would have time to do just that.

Tori didn't waste anymore time she hopped off the edge of the building landing butt first on the dumpster in the process "ouch, dammit note to self find better ways down off buildings" she grumbled but didn't waste much more time and slid off said dumpster and onto the ground below. Tori went into a cautious crouch and held her breath for a few seconds as she scanned the area making sure her route was clear. Whens he was satisfied all the danger had been drawn toward the other's she made a quick beeline toward a pick up truck. Big, sturdy and plenty of room in it she decided. Tori clutched the shotgun to her chest like it was a life line and shot one more glance toward the building. please don't die in there. The woman thought to herself. With that she finally stood up straight and peered in the truck window..and then the truck bed just to make sure it was alll empty, She wasn't keen on any nasty surprises. Pulling the door open Tori jumped into the cab and slammed the door shut behind her hitting the locks down hard "Alright, i got this" She nodded to herself, She hit the front console under the wheel with the butt of her gun hard enough to dislodge it some and get her fingers around it to pull it off completely. She stared at the wires, How complicated could this be she had built computers from scratch she could do this. On that thought Tori set to work, They needed to get out of here.

The blonde worked relentlessly on the truck for afew moments cursing under her breath every time she got the wires wrong but eventually her desperate rumblings finally paid off and she felt the engine roar to life beneath her "YES!!!" letting out a yell and a laugh tori sat up in the drivers seat practically bouncing. She hit her hands off the steering wheel "That's what im talking bout haha good truck" she smirked and patted the dash like it had done a good job. Her eyes wandered to the fuel gauge and she bit her lip..bout 1/4 of a tank. not much but enough to get them outta here and hopefully to some more fuel source..now to get the others...

"Glance at the rooms as you pass by and shoot any undead you see," Jennifer said to Aidan upon reaching the second floor.

The office building seemed pretty clear once they had walked in. Jennifer found this odd, as she thought that it would be crowded with undead. Thankfully so, that was not the case, it seemed. Jennifer heard the man enter the building and close the door, and then run to the stairs, and stop. Why was he stopping? Suddenly, the door downstairs seemed to bust open, and the sounds of undead started to pour through the floor below, followed by shots. There was no time to stop and see what the man was doing.

On the second floor hallway, Jennifer peered down it, and saw two undead. In typical Jennifer style, she quickly and swiftly brought an end to their zombie lives with two shots. As she went though the hall, she transitioned between the hallway leading to the stairs, and the office rooms on her side, letting Aidan focus on the office rooms on hers. Jennifer shot only the undead she saw that could get between her, Aidan, and the man, and reaching the next floor.

"I don't know what the hell that guy's doing, but we have to keep going," started Jennifer to Aidan, "We're going to the third floor," yelled Jennifer to the man.

Echo ran in through the busted door, and saw a man on the staircase, he fired twic but missed once. She drew her katana blade at went at the infected, carving a way through them quickly. And more poured in. Echo ran over to the man on the staircase, and without even thinking she grabbed his arm and pulled him along to the second floor. She let go of his arm. And looked at him, determination in her eyes. "We need to keep moving! I know you don't know me, but introductions later, unless you put a bullet in my back, if you had a plan, I wouldn't go back and do it! You wouldn't have lasted five minutes down there and neither would I have!" She yelled over the increasing noise.

She turned and ran again, she ran down the second floor hallway, and saw two girls (Aiden and Jennifer) she instantly whipped out her pistol in case one aimed at her. She ran past them, her pistol aimed at them for a moment in case they tired anything, and she ran up the staircase, wiping out the dead instantly and ending the lives she had too so that she could continue.

When Skylynn asked her, Holliday and Miyuki to leave her behind, Tiffany shook her head. "No, I'm not leaving you or your child." Leaving a Newborn Child and her Mother obviously went against Tiffany's morals. She was going to be rather defiant about it too. "I'm already slowing them down too. Miyuki doesn't look the type to leave a Mother and child behind like that. I have a Jeep parked outside, so we can use that to leave together." She said. Leaving Skylynn was like leaving Tiffany herself. "I know its going to hurt when you start pushing, but try not scream bloody murder...Its going to be hard, I know, but it'll all be over soon." She tried to comfort Skylynn. "Okay, don't push until I tell you to."

Aidan's initial instinct would be to check what was happening down on the first floor but the sound of the undead coming through convinced her otherwise. Hopefully the man would be alright on his own while she went on to follow Jennifer. Aside from the initial two zombies that had come at them, Aidan spotted only a single other wandering through the rooms. It was promptly disposed of with a single shot.

At Jennifer's remark Aidan simply nodded. It would have been useful if they had managed to barricade the second floor off but they needed some distance from the horde.

Suddenly a girl who she never seen before caught up to them. Along with this fact she drew a pistol at the two of them. Had she not been running for her life, this would have infuriated Aidan but she would have to save her anger for a more appropriate time. Part of her wanted to keep her shotgun trained on this new girl but if there was anything left upstairs, ammunition was better saved for something she knew was definitely a threat. Once upstairs the girl had already neutralized most if not all threats Aidan could see. It was difficult to tell whether the girl was trustworthy or not but she was an incredibly capable fighter. She did her best to keep close to Jennifer, hopefully giving the her and herself a little bit more security.

"Who the f*ck are you?!" Aidan kept her gun up in case anything else came up.

Skylynn groaned softly, but nodded her head, holding back a scream of pain as another contraction hit. "Okay." She said softly as she leaned back against the pillows. She sighed heavily and continued to rub her stomach lightly.

A few minutes later another contraction hit, this one was worse than all of the others. Sky let out a pained whimper, barely managing to hold back another scream.

Austin wasn't sure where the newcomer had come from, but suddenly she was there, and when she ran at him Austin nearly put a bullet in her head. You don't run at people and grab them anymore, that was a no-no, he'd pulled away from her grab and scowled at her accusations. "I'm buying them time to clear the way and come up with a plan for us to survive!" He shouted at her, now that he'd been distracted there was no time to try and make the pile-up worse at the bottom of the steps, the only choice he had was to run. "Should've minded your own business!" He told her angrily as they chased after the other two girls. Crazy ass women in this town.

The moment they caught up and the newcomer suddenly took aim at the other two ahead of them, again Austin nearly shot her. Luckily she'd decided against whatever was going on in that head of hers and Austin didn't have to. "We can't keep running, there's not exactly much room left. We need to hide." He hissed, looking back over his shoulder down the stairs.

Tori managed to get the truck into gear and back it up a bit, She looked out at vehicles strewn out all over the place and bit her lip in thought...she should try and get around the back right? hopefully near a window she thought to herself. With that in mind she finally put the car into drive and was glad the building was close by cause maneuvering around all of these cars was a pain in the butt. Specially when you were driving a car with the steering wheel on the opposite damn side you were used to. There were a few straggling Zed's about but none that were paying to much attention to her..they all seemed pretty preoccupied with the ruckus the rest of em were causing.

When she finally made it a decent length to the building and got to park up near an emergency exit at he back she stopped the car but Tori didn't turn the engine off..she had a feeling a quick getaway might be needed now to let the people inside know she was out here..and had them a way out without attracting to much attention that a way put was impossible. Welp she was just going to have to bite the bullet so to speak..and a little bit literally. She unhooked the shot gun from over her shoulder and inspected it a moment..How hard could pulling a trigger be right? Tori shrugged her shoulder and rolled the window down leaning out it she took a deep breath. "Well here goes nothin if i get ate least it was doing something good" and with that she lifted up the shot gun and let a round go off hoping to draw the attention of the people that had went into the building. However what she hadn't expected was the draw back from the weapon and it hit her hard on the shoulder and slammed her back into her seat..a series of curse words escaped her lips as pain shot its way through her shoulder. "damn"

The sudden sound of gunshots downstairs-not from the man-made Jennifer pause

for a second. She assumed that maybe some of the people from the rooftop crowd came down and decided to help them out. She hesitated for a second when she reached the stairwell, when out of no where, comes this girl that they've never seen, pulling the man. She suddenly aimed her handgun at her. Jennifer was about to put a bullet in her, as pointing a gun at someone under any circumstance is a big no-no. She would have shot her if it wasn't for Austin not shooting her... yet. Even with that, she kept the gun down and to the side of her, in case she did. Even though she just met the rooftop crowd, she trusts them, especially before this woman showed up. And if the man, whose name she still doesn't know wanted her dead, he may have already let that woman shoot, if she were to.. As she made it past them and up the stairs, Jennifer kept quiet, and just followed. This wasn't the time to sit around and try to figure out what the hell's going on. Now is about action and survival; and they need to move. She continued up the stairs, glancing at Aidan with a look of utter confusion.

"Where the f*ck do we hide!? Do any of you have a better god damn idea!? Because if they find the room," yelled Jennifer to the man, still being held by the mysterious woman, her sailor mouth showing up, finally.

Jennifer knew that if they did make into a room and successfully hide from them, they would still be in the building, and odds are more will be attracted to the noise being made. There would be many inside, many outside. She felt this would not end well for them.

The sound of another gunshot went off, muffled, but outside.

"Who was that now," she yelled to the others upon hearing the shot.

Seeing how disoriented Skylynn was, Tiffany was awfully worried for her. Without her husband, it must be really hard for her right now. But Tiffany herself was going to go through childbirth alone as well. "Hey, hey, its almost over." She tried to comfort Skylynn before checking how much she dilated. It would seem that the cervix was fully dilated. "Okay, when I tell you to push, push, okay? The baby's going to be here soon." She placed both of her hands onto Skylynn's knees as she helped the woman get ready to give birth. "Okay...Take a deep breath...Now, one, two, three...push."

"Names Echo, and I won't shot if you won't!" She yelled as she cut off the last of the zombies heads with a katana. She quickly wiped its blood on its corpse and put her katana back in its shealth. She quickly started looking for a good hiding spot. Hearing the noise increasing.

Skylynn took a deep breath and waited for her to finish counting. When Tiffany said to push she did as she was told and pushed as hard as she could. "Oh god!" She moaned out in pain and shook her head, tears pricking her eyes. "I can't. I can't do this. I need Arik. He was supposed to be here for this. He was supposed to be the one to help me." Sky cried, a thin layer of sweat covering her skin.

(@Shimakage Thunder )

Tiffany sighed as Skylynn started moaning about her husband. "I know you miss your hubby, but your baby is counting on you right now. He...or she...Needs you more. Okay? You can do this. For your child. Take a few deep breaths and when I tell you to push again, push." She sighed again before steading the girl's legs and keeping a grip. "I know it hurts, but its gonna be over soon. Three, two, one, push." She looked back and forth between Skylynn, the belly and underneath the dress so that she can be ready when the baby starts crowning.

@Aryn Harris

Skylynn immediately shut her mouth about her husband when she heard Tiffany sigh. She had to remember that she wasn't the only one that lost someone.

When she heard Tiffsny tell her to push again she did as she was told and bit her lower lip. Hard. To keep herself from screaming. She tasted the metallic taste of blood in her mouth and she licked her lips, wincing slightly at the sting of pain. She had bitten her lip so hard that it had started to bleed.

(@Shimakage Thunder )

"Thats a very noble decision you have made. I don't exactly have any plans after this, end of the world and all. I might hang around a while, just until she recovers. Then I'll probably head on my way again. I don't like sitting still for too long." Holliday stared off into the horizon. There wasn't any immediate threat he could see at the moment so he could afford to relax. Unlike most people he could often find the time to do this, as he was most calm when he was alone. When most people would be paranoid he'd be prepared and ready but relaxed and hoping for the best. "I think I'm going to have a drink. Want some?" He pulled a small silver flask from his coat pocket and popped the lid. Then he raised it to his lips and took a couple gulps of the sweet liquid. "Oh before you get the wrong idea, its Coke not alcohol. Its completely flat, isn't cold at all, but still manages to taste good. Here, have a sip." He said as he closed the lid and tossed the container towards Miyuki.

Miyuki looks over at Holliday and then looks at the flask. She tosses it back. "You may need it more." She says simply as she sits and waits. The sky was starting to dim as she looks over at the sunset. 'The end of the world and yet sunsets are still as pretty.' She rubs her eyes as she hasn't slept well for the last few nights, only sleeping for an hour at most. She looks down at the street, "I don't want to speak too soon, but I think we are going to be in the clear."

@Mercer

"Good, deep breaths honey. You need to breath a bit too. C'mon, you're almost there." Tiffany said before noticing that Skylynn's lip was bleeding. Briefly, she stepped up to grab a cloth to wipe the bloodied lips before getting back to proceeding with the delivery. "Just a bit longer and you'll bring your baby into the world." When she looked again, it would seem that the baby was...Well, that was a bit fast...The baby was now crowning. "Okay, I'm gonna need you to push again, the baby's crowning. I want you to push as hard as you can." She did one last count down before asking the mother to push once more.

@Aryn Harris

Skylynn pushed as hard as she could, groaning. When she couldn't push anymore she stopped, gripping the sheets so tight that her knuckles turned white. A few seconds later she loosened her grip and relaxed back into the pillows.

(@Shimakage Thunder and it's going to be a boy.)

"I'm not just worried about you shooting," Aidan grumbled quietly, giving the katana a quick glance.

There were other things to concern herself with, such as how in the world were the four of them going to get out without getting flattened or becoming dinner. Jennifer was right, if they hid in a room there was a fair chance that they would become sitting ducks. Going further up might corner them on the roof. The sound of gun fire outside interrupted her thought process. Aidan sincerely hoped this was a friend. She also sincerely hoped that this wasn't a cry for help.

"Give me a second," she ran through the office building searching for a room with window access. What she found may have been slightly better. It was a smaller stairwell, one meant to be used as a fire escape. It would lead to an emergency exit. The safer thing to do would be to check whether it was safe to go outside but the walkers would be up soon.

"Guys over here!!!" she creaked the door open expecting a blaring noise to erupt throughout the building but it seemed that wouldn't happen until they exited through the final exit door. They would have to be fast. The building itself might provide with the distraction they needed to escape if they were lucky. Or they would just escape and they would have to try to run as fast as they could. She would be thankful for either outcome at the moment.

@Crono @Jennifer Shotain @DarknessSpirit @Lola Shimmer

Echo ran over to where Aiden was. "Thank god, we'd probobly be sitting ducks, as your friend said." She turned her head sharply as the horde got to the top of the stairs, slowly pouring into the room. "You guys go, I'll hold them back!" She yelled over all the noise, and pulled out her katana, she knew it wouldn't be long till she became one of them, so she only hoped they hurried. And she started wiping out the front of the horde, each head getting cut clean. She didn't care if she died, she had nothing to live for.
