Futuristic You are a Space Marine... in Space! (With images)

You arrive at Moz Esurik. After an hour or so of rigorously asking questions to the villagers, none have reported bounty hunters with plasma guns. Then again, the primitives on this speck of stardust they call a planet probably don't even know what a plasma gun is.

You make a short break for snorting cocaine and return to searching and spend another thirty or so minutes trying to find the perpetrator, but in the end, it is all a waste of time. Shinrei walks up to you with disappointment plastered on his face like the bandage on his left leg. "We need to refuel before we try anywhere else. Let's go back for now." You nod in agreement.

The two of you return back home at the price of another 36% of the fuel leaving you with only 20%. The servitor begins to refuel your vessel as you step out and sit at the doorstep, observing the beautiful sunset before you. How beautiful it would be, if you didn't know the large fireball in the sky you were staring at would give you all kinds of cancer if it weren't for the ozone above your head. You sigh at your own cynical misantrophy, realizing just how pathetic of a human being you've become. To forget your worries, you take out another line of cocaine from your pocket and snort the hell out of it.
  1. "Tomorrow, we'll try at Ghara."
  2. "Tomorrow, we'll try at Shecusa."
  3. "Let's quit trying, kid. It's not worth it."
You say to Shinrei before walking back inside your hut.

You spend the rest of the evening...
  1. Studying the esoteric mysteries of magecraft. (+100 max prana.)
  2. Snorting cocaine. (-1kg of cocaine, +5 Insanity, +6 Willpower.)
  3. Sleeping.
  4. Training with your chainsword. (+6 Weapon skill.)

D-64 Storm Bolter
A powerful weapon that fires bolts. Bolts are special bullets propelled via a charge on the back that can penetrate armor easily thanks to their diamantine tips. They have a half-second charge that causes them to explode once they are past the enemy's armor. They are incredibly destructive weapons that can tear enemies apart with one barrage. The Storm Bolter is a deadly weapon of massive, increased firepower that can manage to fire 3 bolts per second making it much deadlier.
Rate of fire: 1Bolt/0.3s.
Damage: Huge.
Magazine: 30 Bolts.

Mark VI. Chainsword
A large sword with an engine and a roaring mechanical blade. The chained teeth of this sword have diamantine tips that lets it tear through armor like a knife through butter.
Fuel: 15 Minutes.

Fuel Tank
A fuel tank that may be used in a Flamer, Chainsword, or even in vehicles. WARNING: Contains unstable Promethium.

120 Bolts (Ammo)

Pimp-Staff

A, probably magical, a conduit of spatial forces that lets you unleash deadly pimp energies onto your opponents like arcane blasts. The Pimp-Staff stores 5000 prana points in it and recharges 500 each hour automatically. Shooting a pimp blast costs 100 prana points.

Fanoros Fictionomicon
A puzzling tome of magecraft of unknown origin that contains arcane and esoteric mysteries not meant for the eyes of mortal men or gods.

Mark VII. Aquila Power Armor (Unpainted) (Pimped Out)

A durable example of Imperial engineering. This power armor enhances the wearer's strength and endurance beyond what is normally possible, but can only be worn by trained personnel like space marines. It also contains auto-senses in the helmet and other features, but it requires to be powered with electricity. The battery can be found on the back and is somewhat large, therefore leaving the wearer exposed to sneak attacks.

11kg of Cocaine
Ah, yes! The finest substance in the galaxy. This little collection of white powdered dust helps you get through the day and dull your senses until you can no longer think.

1.5 Liters of Blood (Low-Quality) (w/ Cocaine)
Taken from a dead Imperial servitor, this blood may be used for a variety of purposes; rituals, feeding vampires or perhaps drinking. Still, it is of low quality as servitors don't need blood. It is overflowing with chemicals and is very unpleasant in both taste and consistency. Kept in a small tube. This mixture has been laced with visible traces of cocaine.

Plasma Pistol
A sidearm that shoots heated hydrogen bolts at temperatures above 7 thousand degrees Celsius. These bolts quickly pressurize into plasma and a foe in heavy armor will be badly damaged from just one shot.
Rate of fire: 1PlasBolt/1s.
Damage: Devastating.
Magazine: 15HydrogenShots.

Frag Grenades (2)
An explosive grenade that explodes 5 seconds after the pin is pulled. Deals decent damage against all opponents.

Krak Grenades (2)
Special grenades designed to work against vehicles. One is more than enough to disable a medium-sized tank of moderate armor.

You turn to Shinrei for but a second. "Tomorrow, we'll try at Shecusa instead." You turn away and go back inside----- The boy does not reply, but the bitter frown on his face makes his current feelings crystal clear to you.

In a way, a part of you almost cares for the young alien boy's predicament, but you're too insane to have a true affection for anyone anymore. In fact, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say you aren't in possession of common human empathy. You've fallen to the level of a misanthropic sociopath. You think about your past for a few seconds and decide that your marksman skills could use a little bit of sharpening before they run out completely.

You call your servitor over to you and the automaton hands you an autogun to use instead of your proper weapons. You spend two hours training your aim at the shooting range shooting at targets. By shooting range, I mean desert. By targets, I mean radioactive scorpions. Afterward, you go to sleep in your hut...

...

"Ahhg!" You're woken up by the shrieking yelp of pain coming from somewhere in the room. As your lazy eyelids part, you slowly sit on the bed and press the button on the wall, turning the lights on. The now-illuminated room reveals Shinrei to you. He just hurt himself on accident when trying to cast a telekinetic surgery spell. Pfft, what an amateur. You chuckle quietly as you stand up and walk closer to examine his condition.

He stands near your desk, his left hand having an extremely large cutting wound. The wound is rapidly bleeding and needs help. You look down at him like a teacher at a pupil with no capability of studying. Then again, to be fair, that's precisely what he was doing. He just isn't good at it, or so it seems.

"Hey, stop staring at me and help?" he requests.
  1. "Nope. You've gotten yourself into this one. Find a way out."
  2. Take a look at it and apply some basic medicaments you have on person.
  3. Give him some cocaine to make him feel better.
  4. Flick your wrist and heal his wound with the power of magic. (-250 prana.)

You look down at your supposed minion. With a fatherly sigh, you stare him down. It was the kind of sigh that a disappointed teacher makes when a baby can't even properly suck on its own thumb without help. "Fine," you submit.

With a swift gesture of your arm which glowed with a pale, green light for a second, a small wave of energy enters Shinrei's wound. The energy fills it to the brim, like a small lake filling the after-effect of an earthquake that left a canyon on his hand. The etheric energies are soon absorbed by his skin and flesh that knit themselves back together. Kind of a hassle really, but you never shun the chance to test your abilities as a mage. It is one of the few things left you still take pride in, other than snorting cocaine all day like a useless bum. You admit, you are a bum!

Shinrei gently moves his fingers, flexing his hand muscles a bit to get a better sensation of his repaired hand. After a few seconds, he looks up at you with a thankful smile. "Thanks, er, Pimp..." he says, quickly turning the situation into awkwardness due to the lack of a better name.

"Say..." he begins on a new topic, possibly related to the previous statement of gratitude. "Have you thought of a name-change? Or at least some kind of nickname? The Pimp just sounds... weird."

You stare him down, thinking and then saying...

An example of a Questing Roleplay. I post updates. The players vote. New update according with their wishes. They vote.... And so on.

You drop the suggestion bomb. "The Dealer!" you wave your arm in the air to help the two of you visualize.

Shinrei frowns like he's speaking to a child younger than him. "That's not a real na-- Agh, forget it. Thanks, Dealer." Shinrei's frown turns into a small smile. You smile back under your helmet before returning to bed. As per usual, you have nightmarish dreams full of vivid insanity that you can't even come close to explaining.

~

You wake up the next day. You push aside the gentle blanket on top of your power armor. You really can't remember the last day you took it off on. It seems you got addicted to wearing it. Now that you think about it, you move your limbs a little and try to feel your body under your armor. You feel... frailness. Because of the artificial muscles in the suit, it's easy to assume yours have gotten a bit weaker over time. If you took the thing off, you'd probably have trouble walking and throwing punches, even though you're an immortal badass when inside of it.

Setting aside your dumb feelings, you stand up and walk outside. You can see Shinrei in the distance on top of a small hill. That kid is really persistent. You can tell he hasn't closed his eyes once during the night.

You walk up the hill of sand, leaving deep footprints as you climb it.

As you arrive, Shinrei doesn't even turn his head. He's sitting down cross-legged on a small matte. As you further examine your surroundings, you notice several rocks floating around him and slowly moving in perfect harmony around his body, creating a circle. They move gently yet casually -- Shinrei's power isn't too great yet and you can tell he struggles to do just this.

"You've been learning telekinesis?" you ask.

The rocks stop. You look at them. For a few seconds, they stay in place in the air. You look back at Shinrei and notice his body shaking in agitation, as he tries to focus and keep the rocks in place. Soon enough, the rocks start shaking and a few of them drop to the ground whilst the others outright explode, crushed by the pressure of Shinrei's mind.

Shinrei opens his eyes and turns his head in your direction. He's irritated that you broke his concentration. You smile, partly because you think the situation is kind of funny.
  1. Offer to train him in the use of telekinesis.
  2. Offer to give him the Fanoros Fictionmicon so he can learn by himself.
  3. Remind him where the two of you're going.
  4. Laugh.

2. He's gotta learn to be self sufficient!
See, this is why we sometimes make dumb choices. Rin proposed a good reason for choosing two, then Gabriel disregarded it without argument! Communicate you guys. As we progress, the enemies will get tougher and tougher and the chances of death will grow. You'll need to make as many allies, collect as many resources, and do as much as you can to win and survive the story I have totally planned and am not writing as I go.

2 the kids gotta learn how to do things by himself, he can't be completely dependent on us.

You unclip the large, ominous tome of sorcery at your side and toss it toward Shinrei, who catches the book in his frail arms and can just barely hold it because of its weight. Shinrei looks up at you, befuddled. He looks almost as if he's about to ask what you want him to do with this.

You sigh. "Get to work. Read it. It will teach you magic." Shinrei instantly opens it, almost as if he realized he received permission to access the knowledge within the book. As you roll your eyes around, you ponder whether this was a good idea. After all, reading the book's contents did double your insanity factor after you ran into the desert.
  1. He'll be fine, he's an alien of psychic might.
  2. Actually, let me take that back...
As he begins to settle into the pages with his gaze, you look back at your house. Your poorly-made, dirt hut. You stare without sound and with a clouded expression beneath your mask of diabolical flesh that covers your helmet. You keep staring until you see one of your servitors sliding across the desert. This reminds you of your duty today.
  1. "Okay, let's go to Shecusa."
  2. Ignore it for today and do something else right now. You might lose track of the bounty hunter, but at least you'll be prepared. Who knows what kind of bounty hunter he is and what weapons he has?

1 - Ehh, the boy'll learn one way or another. What's a little insanity compared to the lesson in self-sufficiency?
1 - Let's not lose track of that bounty hunter, it's a pain in the butt having to track people down when the trail is cold.

Book: 1. The boy has to learn to be self-efficient even if he has to pay a price. Besides maybe he won't go insane because he's something you're not.

Bounty hunter: 1. We made a promise and we are gonna keep that promise! Even if we are batshit insane.
