James was with Ili, going towards their room

"hey look... what?"

the rooms were not what he was expecting, they were just rows of doors, just normal doors with some basic frames and names on them

"uhh... ooh theres mine!"

there was a single door with "James Highland" on it, it was a dark brown, heavily varnished door with intricate patterns all over it.

James plled down the handle and opened the door, on the other side wasn't the rest of the door-room, but a house-sized bedroom!

"oh woah! its space-displacement magic! awesome!"

james went in followed by Ili

"my dad made me a playhouse using this magic, it was awesome!"

the room was kinda empty, no posters, blank wallpaper, just a single bed, a table, a bathroom, a t.v on some shelves, a cupboard and some magic apparatus

"here! a cauldren!"

he pulled out the big metal pot

"you can sleep in here, then you won't leak everywhere!"

Cam rolled her way into the castle and down to the girl's dormitory wing, she walked pasted rows upon rows of doors labled with what she obviously assumed were the names of the other students. She followed the hallway until she found the door labeled "Cameron Todd", her smile dropped a bit, she always thought her full name was a boyish and ordinary...

She pushed the door open, expecting a closet sized space, instead walking into a regular sized room. She let out a bit of an astonished laugh, "Why am I not surprised," She set her trunk down, Bast jumping off of her shoulders as well, now that she had space to stretch out without getting flattened--despite that fact that its hard to ignore a wild cat the size of a smaller-than-average medium sized dog. Cam tilted her head, putting a finger to her lip as she watched Bast lower her front paws and stretch out completely, "That reminds me, Bast. While we're here, I should learn how to change your appearance...I wonder if I could do that with my Alchemy...?" She looked at the circular tattoos intricately made on her palms, she contemplated then finally shook her head, "No, not transmutation..."

Bast sniffed her way around the room, identifying everything anything suspicious, while Cam worked on unpacking her clothes in the drawers and setting out a few personal things of hers. When she was done she stood up straight and looked at her watch and pursed her lips at what she saw. They still had about an hour and a half to get to the orientation, "Come on, Bast, let's go explore!" Cam smiled and left her new room, her familiar trotting after Cam, her tail held high in the air, dignified.

Gizmo waved goodby to Minka, and said, cheerfuly, "Byebye!" and wheeled off to find more people. It quickly found Trace and Virtus, and said, "Hey! I'm Gizmo! What're your names?" It bounced slightly on it's legs, somehow keeping it's balance on the sphere that it used as a drive device. It looked almost cute. Trace laughed, then said, "Trace Legacy."

Laying in his room, Talhar was reading a book about Transformation "blueprints", just a book with sketches of creatures and how their anatomy works, not really useful since he has to have seen the creature in real life in order to transform into it. But the descriptions could prove useful for in case he does encounter one of these creatures. After sehe'veral hours of reading, he got bored with it and seated himself on the edge of his bed.

It has been quite a while now that he's been at this school and he has yet to make any friends here, mainly because he was so shy and timid at first. Since he had never seen other humans, besides the grove witch, before this day. But he was starting to come out of his shell, and today he wanted to meet someone and befriend them, so he quickly made up his mind and walked out the door, into the hall and stopped at the first door he reached, the neighbouring room.

There he knocked on the door and with each short knock he could feel the stress and anxiousness rise and boil within him.

James's head darted to the door "i got it Ili"

he ran over to the door, turned the knob and opened it, revealing the boy in front of him, about his own age and clearly nearvous

"hey, whats up?" he asked in a friendly tone, smiling.

The door opened fast, faster than Talhar anticipated and as the cheerful boy asked him what was up, he realized he didn't have an actual answer, he just wanted to meet someone.

" Euhm, well, euhm, I'm Talhar...I was wondering if you .... I just wanted to come say hi. " He never really learned how to lie, so Talhar just said the truth after stumbling over his words a bit. After realizing he seemed silly he just laughed and smiled as he said:

" Sorry, I haven't really met anyone yet since I arrived here so I thought I'd come greet my neighbour... " He said truthfully and with a sheepish grin.

James raised an eyebrow "what do you mean you haven't met anyone? you've met me already!"

he remembered what his parents taught him about being polite, so he moved aside a bit

"wanna come in?"

" Sure, thanks! " Talhar said as he walked inside the huge room, noticing a cauldron with something in it.

" What's that? " Talhar asked, pointing at the thing inside the cauldron.

"I'm James" he replied cheerfully after Talhar gave his name.

"hey dont be mean, apologize to Ili!"

he frowned a bit, kinda annoyed that Talhar called Ili the slime "that"

after the innevitable apology

"seriously.. havent you seen a slime before? i've seen a lot in the hallway, the courtyard... about he same number of slimes as Incubi i think..."

"Hi!" Ili said, bubbling up, a head poking out of the cauldron.

"Nice ta meetcha, I'm Ili!" he continued, an arm forming, reaching out ahead of him, offered for a shake.

"I seem to be stuck," he giggled, it was true. The lip of the cauldron rested a little too high, unable to get the rest of himself above it.

" Ooww, I'm very sorry. I had no idea. Nice to meet you Ili. " He said consecutively and fast, bumbling over his words again.

" No I haven't ever seen a slime, or even a ... Incubi? ... for that matter. I'm very new to all of this, I've lived in the forest with my protector until a short while ago.

Maybe it's because I stayed in my room for nearly the entire time I've been here. Since I've always lived alone, except for my protector ofcourse, I haven't really seen any other humans besides us 2. And my magic knowledge is limited to what she taught me really, so I have no clue about many magic beings yet. "

" Care to show me around, Ili & James?
If we can get you out ofcourse. " He said with a boyish smile.

Taylor made it to the dorms, and was a bit surprised. It was just...A hallway with rows of heavy doors running up and down the sides. He sighed and clutched his things tighter, walking slowly through the hallway. There were names and patterns on all the doors. His own name came up soon, Taylor Auode. Taylor sucked in a breath and walked in. The room was....Much bigger then he had anticipated, but, somehow, he wasn't surprised. He dropped his things on his new bed and looked around, taking in all the details.

As the woman didn't even dignify a response, Nellie bowed her head slowly. Backing away, she just went towards where the girl's dorms were, she would work it out if it didn't work. Frowning deeply, she drew in level breaths, before sighing once more.

Looking through at the doors, she noticed her name hanging below another girl's. Tilting her head, she shrugged a little, before cracking it open. Inside, she blinked a few times, shut the door, then opened it again, and hoped she wasn't going crazy. Nope, still the large living room type area, with two separate doors labeled respectively with one of the girl's names.

Stepping into the room, and shutting the door behind her, she moved towards the one with her name. Opening it, she stepped in and flicked the light. Looking around, she blinked a few times, before leaning against the door frame a bit surprised. A state of the art shower looking thing was off in one corner, a curtain guard wrapping around that area as sort of a 'blanket' she supposed, and given the instructions on the thing, that was what she would soon be calling a bed, and an actual small bed, more for looks, she supposed. On the other side of the room, was a simple dresser, and a stand for the fishbowl, which had a new pitcher of water resting on it.

"How did..." Shrugging her wonder off, she set Gullivan and Ross down, refilled their bowl, and looked closer at the machine thing. It was a water tube, as it read, designed to allow a full body submersion for resting, pumped full of water from their own lake, assuring that it wasn't going to be a huge change from what she was used to, and even came with a temperate control. Looking at the thing itself, she hit the on button, and sure enough, from the bottom up, water started to fill in the tube, sealed tight to prevent leaking, and the greenish murky colour made her feel a bit safer here. Watching the water fill, she smiled softly, before hitting the 'manual' off, the real one inside the tube, and watching it drain back out.

Moving back out from her room, to the 'living' room like thing that separated her's and the girl's, she took a perch up by the window and stared out, not really wanting to go look around.

"And I'm Virtus Owryu." He replied to the hunk of talking metal. As a personality quirk, he just didn't like machinery. He didn't even understand it himself. Azure's eyes opened, and he sighed.

"Fantastic. He woke up. AND escaped Genbu." He spat, getting Virtus' attention. Virtus' eyes widened. "Crud....."

Suddenly, in a different colour puff of smoke from the ones Azure come from, appeared Byakko, Virtus' youngest, and most troublesome familiar.

"HEY, HEY, VIRTUS!" The miniature yellow and green-striped tiger shouted as it bounded onto his shoulder opposite Azure. "HOW'RE YOU? WHAT'CHA DOING? CAN I PLAY TOO? WHAT'S AZURE DOING?"

"..... Calm down, Byakko. NOW." Azure said in a commanding voice. Byakko whimpered, and cowered into Virtus' shoulder.

Virtus sighed. "Be nice, Azure."

Azure scoffed. "I'll be going back right now, I'm growing weary. I need to speak with Genbu anyways."

"Okay Azure, thank you for the help earlier."
Virtus said with a smile. Azure sighed again, and disappeared into a puff of smoke. Byakko's head rose, and his eyes lit up.

"The meanie's gone, can we play Virtus? I wann- OH, I SMELL ANOTHER FAMILIAR!" Byakko exclaimed, easily distracted. He bounded off Virtus' shoulder, and scampered off in search of the new and incredibly interesting smell.

Virtus face-palmed.

Cam was practically skipping down the hallway. She had to force herself to walk in slowly so she could take in all the sights. Cam didn't really have anywhere specific she was going, merely exploring and getting her bearings in this incidence new place. She minded older students walking purposefully, stepping to the side when they pasted. Cam marveled at how many different students there were, creatures of all races mixed in with humans. Cam had heard stories about them and pictures of them; but this was the first time seeing them in person. Her parents had made sure of that much, they were extrodinarily uptight people by Cam's standards, and as far as she knew, they had never really said a good word about them. Even at a young age, Cammie knew they were wrong, there was always good among the bad, and people always had a good reason for doing the things they did--from the little information she had heard about the wars--so she always gave people a chance. -- Cam came up on another hallway, similar to the one in her dormitory, except it was bustling with boys. She leaned around the corner to the dormitory hallway, looking for any differences. As far as she could see they were the same, name labels, custom door frames, and rooms tricked to look like they were closet sized, but of course, really werent.

As Byakko took off, Virtus glanced over to Trace.

"I'll have to go catch him.... I'll meet you in the dorm later, sorry Trace!" He shouted as he ran after Byakko.

~

Byakko narrowed in on the scent, and shot through a bustling crowd of people. He spotted a cat thing (Cam's cat familiar), and realized it was what the scent was coming from! It was the familiar! Byakko jumped at the cat, landing beside it, pawing it cutely.

"HELLO, I'M BYAKKO, WILL YOU PLAY WITH ME?" He started energetically.

Bast was peeking out from behind Cam's legs, looking down the curious hallway as well. Her nose twitched a few times, sniffing the air, and she stepped out cautiously--only to be tackled by a small feline creature. Bast rolled to the side, coming up on her feet, and hissed sharply in surprise, looking quite menacing from behind her long K-9s with her large ears flattened against her head. Cam jumped, her hands flew to her mouth to hide the shocked squeak that slipped from her lips. Bast realized the creature was not attacking her and she straightened from her crouch, seeing that the thing only wanted to 'play'... Cam's eyes widened, "You...can talk...?" she said in amazement. Cammie knew Bast was special, she was very intelligent and understood what Cam was saying, conversing in gestures--very seldom would she get confused--but talking was another thing. She looked at Bast, maybe it was the magic of the castle, "Can 'you' talk?" Bast looked at her with a looked that said quite plainly, 'NO'. Bast pounced on the other creature, which looked like a small version of a tiger. Cam looked around for the owner of the small creature.

OOC - Byakko is a miniature tiger, coloured yellow with green stripes.

Virtus found Byakko, bothering the familiar of a girl. He sighed, pushing his way through the hallway, a sheepish look on his face as he picked a struggling Byakko off the larger cat's back.

"Byakko, what have I said about running off?" He chided like a parent, putting the small, somewhat apologetic-looking cat up onto his shoulders. He glanced over at the girl.

".... Heh... Sorry. Usually my familiars are a little better behaved than this." He let out, rubbing the back of his head, attempting to smile but looking embarrassed.

"I'm sorry too.... I just wanted to plaaaay." Byakko let out, follow by a rather dejected mewling.

((ohhh, mah bad--that makes it different then. How big is Byakko then?)) Cam shrugged with a smile, "Its no problem," she raised a curious eyebrow, "Familiar'S'? As in, more than one? Can they all talk?" Bast cocked her head slightly to the side, her ear twitched, watching the other cat rode on his master's shoulders--as Bast often did with Cam. She sat back on her haunches and pawed the air, looking up at the other cat.

Virtus nodded.

"I have four, but I specialize in Theurgy. So it's not uncommon to have more than one. And yes, they all talk. Does your familiar not?" He asked, comfortable in his own element, talking about the magic he knew like the back of his hand.

OOC - Byakko, and Virtus' other familiars are just a bit smaller than Virtus' head, so they can all ride comfortably on his shoulders (one at time, for each shoulder).

Cam shook her head a bit disappointed, "No...but she understands what I say, Isn't that right, Bast?" Bast looked at her master at the mention of her name, she quirked an eyebrow, not really paying attention to what Cam had said. Cam sighed and smiled, "Thanks, buddy," she said sarcastically, "Making 'me' look like the idiot here,"

Virtus bent down, and began petting Bast.

"It's not either of your faults, neither or you is an idiot. You most likely don't understand each other quite as well as master and familiar should." Virtus explained a little into the ideology behind the familiars aspect of his chosen branch of magic. "Is she spirit, demon, or beast?" He added in as a question, hoping to shed a little light into this matter.

Cam tried not to roll her eyes, she understood what Bast says, you just have to read it in her eyes and her body movements, their type of conversing wasn't as obvious as spoken words. "I really don't know," Cam said truthfully, "She just showed up one day, following me, I turned around and there she was,"

Virtus grinned.

"Ah, then, she's not actually a familiar. You didn't summon her yourself, or create the Theurgic bond." Virtus noted.

He stood up, and sighed. "My name's Virtus Owryu." He said, offering his hand in a welcoming gesture for a meeting shake. "This is Byakko, one of my four familiars." He added, motioning to the miniature green and yellow striped tiger perched on his shoulder.

"Nice to meet you!" Byakko chirped off with a happy meow.

As the thing waved bye, Minka cringed a smile, picking up her pace towards the female dormitories. Though, when she arrived she was surprised to see that the doors were a lot closer then she expected them to be. Many of the doors had only one name on it, but when she came to a stop in front of the door with her name, there was another underneath it. So there was another person living with her; entering very carefully she peeked in only to swing the door all the way open.

How they had managed to fit such a big room in a small space was the real magic…

There was a girl sitting on the perch to the window, and she recognized her as the one who crashed into her earlier.

“Hey!” she greeted,

“Uh-” then with a quick glance at the door, “Elenor” she finished, forcing a smile.
