Nellie nodded her head, checking her watch for a moment, before frowning. She'd left Gullivan and Ross alone for longer than she'd wanted, and she'd have to leave them even longer now. But, it was in a library, and they'd excuse her for that...hopefully.

Bowing to the teacher, Nellie pulled ou the ribbon, handed it to him, and darted off. If she was able, she'd be lucky enough to feed them at least before going to detention.

As she continued to her office, Valentina heard a noise that made her pause in the journey and wait for whom she expected. The groundskeeper, as she expected, ran up to her with a shovel in his hand and alerted her of what had happened while she was gone. As his explanation continued, she nodded along until he mentioned that the group cleaned up the glass.

“Wait…they were in my office?” she noted,

If the window had crashed into her office, the glass would’ve been near her desk which didn’t sit well with her. “Can you get me their names please?” she questioned, then as an afterthought “Don’t worry, you did the right thing…” she comforted the man, before he thought he did something wrong.

The giant actually rolled his eyes when she seemed to get upset of him being in her office

"Val get off your high horse, we all have certain things in our offices, notes and all that, i just made them sweep up the glass, i picked up all the books and pit everything back, you know i'm a trustworthy person Val..."

that he was, even though Val recieved orders from the real headmaster and knew his true identity, the real headmaster still gave updates and saw how things were going with the other staff too, the groundskeeper was one of them.

"and i put the student's names on a list, apparently they were distracted by one of the seniors, a playful succubus supprise supprise... anyway, i best be getting back, a herd of Centaur Nomads want to camp out in the clearing on the far side of the lake and i gotta explain tht they will be sharing the area with students and that they cannot claim it as their territory or restrict access to students and staff... heh, i might even be able to get them to work by keeping the grounds safe at night untill they move on... ok hell, i best be off, bye!"

the giant put his huge shovel over his shoulder and walked off, going for the exit, he had to squat and side-step to get out since he was so big, but he didn't ming... giants are strong and stubborn, but they are largely friendly, patient and gentle.

inside Val's office, she could see some books crdely placed back into the shelves, some still had big dirty thumbprints on them from the groundskeeper trying to clean up in such a relatively small room.

when she walked there was occasianally a small "crackle" of a tiny piece of glass being crushed underfoot, but nothing had really been destroyed or stolen.

James nodded, handing the teacher the ribbons, the rest of the students did too

"hmm... red team wins!" there were no cheers, but many of the other students in the red team were clearly pleased.

James walked through and they all stepped asside, they were afraid of him now, afer that show of power... this was something James was afraid of, he was afraid of being afraid of, of people fearing him....

once ge was out of the stadium, he began making his way to the library.

Cam didn't know if the teacher was being sarcastic when he said they other students could join them, if he meant the detention--that is. But she had nowhere else to go and the library sounded fascinating, she could pick up a book for her project while she was at it. Cam went to pick up her bag where she left during P.E and found Bast sitting next to it, "Where did you run off to, hmm?" Cammie asked, Bast's eyes flickered to the side, Cam followed the gaze to the bleacher area, Bast licked her chops, "Hunting, have you?" Cam laughed before answering her own question, "Okay then, just make sure it's not someone's pet, 'kay?" The tip of the car's tail flicked in mild irritation, but she understood. Cam fingered the strap across her chest, "Let's get going then, I need to get a book," Bast trotted after her as Cam started walking. She soon caught up with the 'kaboom' boy, Cam walked next to him, leaning forward and whirling her eyebrow, "You are SO gonna teach me how you did that before," she said smiling, she put out her hand, "I'm Cam!"

James smiled a bit to the girl with the giant cat

"I-I'm James... and it was pretty easy, i learned that one when i was... 8 years old if i remember right... anyway, the spell is "bombarda Maxima" normally the spell is "bombarda" but adding in "Maxima" multiplies the power of the spell based on how much magic is in your blood.."

he blushed a bit, kinda embarrased to talk about this...

"and well, since i come from a powerful bloodline..." then he emmebered, he had to cut this off befre she realized hes the son of a mass-murdering dictator "uhh, no relation to that Marco Highland though, well, the relation is there, but my part of the family is completely seperate from his part of it, so theres pretty much no relation" he hoped to hell that this might make her curiosity subside...

"anyway, i was taught Bombarda and a few other spells when i was really little, i learned my first spell when i was 4, it was a small light spell, since i used to cry at night 'cos i'm, i mean, 'cos is WAS afraid of the dark..."

they soon got to the library's door

"well.. okay then..." they opened the door and honestly... it was underwhelming, there was no sign of magic in here, the lights were electrical, there were computers for any book searches, just like any other library.

"... huh"

She looked at him with a bit of a confused expression, all of that stuff was unfamiliar to her, and her parents never talked to her about the war, so she had no idea what he was talking about. Cam held up her palms showing James the circular markings there, "I dont exactly use spells," she admitted, "Its hard to explain," When the doors to the library opened Cam pursed her lips, she was expecting, maybe, flying books or sparkles in the air or somekind of sign of magic. She wondered what kind of detention kids would have to serve here, but she could she why they chose the location--it was pretty boring. "Definetely not the most impressive room in this place, but I guess it serves it's purpose..." she said slowly.

Nellie had sucessfully ran back to her room, fed her fish, and had made it back to the library through a short cut thanks a senior and as she sat in a chair, a computer on one side of her, a very large mound of books on the other, and one of hte librarians behind her, she was run through exactly what she would be doing for a week. Cataloging, by name, author, date written, language written, target audience, and topic. In that order. It was perfect. Nodding her head, she smiled broadly, before diving into the pile of books.

The giant gave a rather annoyed answer, which Valentina chose not to comment on as he had given her a list in the end. She would tell him about the three strike thing later, as she really didn’t want to get him angrier at her. Although, what she had asked wasn’t all that haughty in her opinion

“Alright” she noted when he had finally set off. Then making her way into her office, she picked out the easily identifiable spines from the book case, looking around carefully. There was indeed nothing missing and after she made sure of that, she opened the ledger of school records. As if it had always been in there, the first year students section was now filled with new names. Valentina gave a sigh, looking out at her now broken window…

Minka was clueless as to where the others were going, so she simply followed behind them at a rather slow speed. Not able to hear James or Cameron, or talk to Nellie, the girl found it a rather lonely walk to the library. When the group had finally got there, she was surprised to see that the room had no magical feel to it. The angel simply followed Nellie to her detention space, sitting next to her with a blank stare on her face as the librarian had ordered her to put away the books after Nellie was done.

A lot of question came floating to mind, but the woman took a short breath before explaining how the books were arranged according to letters on the spine. That those letters were marked on the sides of the shelves, and those shelves ran alphabetically through the library. So letters, the numbers, then if all else failed, authors and/or subjects sometimes correlated.

James got a book on history and say next to Nellie, Cam and Minka.

"ugh, i hate history, i dont see the point in it!"

even though, he opened the book and began reading

(sorry for the crappy post, my brain is kinda dead atm)

Nellie, who had just turned to catalog a book on Transylvania witch trials back in the B.C. 50's, listened to James before giggling lightly. "If one doesn't know their past, one can never be grateful and respect what he has now." Setting the book on a cart, with other books, which for some reason were plentiful, of it's subject, before grabbing another, skimming through it quickly before logging it. "It's not that hard, really, I could help you if you wanted...?"

Cam smiled, "I agree. Learn from other's mistakes and experiences so each generation gets better and better," she said as she put her bag in an empty chair and wandered off to find a book. She strolled down aisles, looking for what she needed, pausing once and a while to pull out a book from the shelf and leaf throughout it before putting it back. Cam started narrowing down her search until it was one bookshelf, she skimmed her finger over the spines, reading the titles. After about twenty minutes of searching and she finally found her book; an old weathered volume with a grease stain on the front, the pages where slightly yellowed and a few where dog-tagged. Cammie smiled and retreated back to the table. The book descriped basic mechanics and working machines to engines and rotors, exactly what she needed.

James looked over to nellie and what she was doing

"yeah i could use some help... after you're done with all that"

he went back to his book, which was about 7th century arabia, otherwise known as the "golden age" when baghdad was the center for science and progress int he world... then islamic fundementalism came into power and there went the golden age down the drain...

still, he found it fascinating, all the discoveries made in that short period of progress, but fascinating as it was, he couldnt understand half of it.

Nellie shook her head, "It's fine...I can multi task..." Picking up another book, she skimmed through it quickly, before setting it with war books and logging it in. "I mean, can't be too hard. Right?"

"uhh, i guess..."

James flipped over the page, this was all so complex, Arabic Algebra, the names of the sultans, none of it made sense or mattered

"screw this, i'm getting a job..."

(1 minute later)

he came back with a pile of books higher than his head to put back

"... damnit..."

Nellie was working a lot faster than Minka, and it showed by the books piling up on the cart despite the angel trying to take couple at once. When she had made it back this time, the girl was sliding a book about Transylvania onto the cart, all the while talking to James. It seemed he didn’t like history, and Minka understood where both the girls were coming from to say it was indeed important.

As Nellie volunteered to help, the angel set back to work, picking up two of the books that her roomie had logged. Then she set back into the many shelves, ending up flipping through aisles near the door way for both books. She ended up here fairly often, enough so that she would automatically walk here after picking up some of the books. When she got back at the table, she saw the huge amount of books James had grabbed.

“What’re you doing?” she asks, the stack was practically as big as him.

"putting these back on their shelves" he replied "they figure i can handle this"

he put the pile of boks on the table and took a few off the top, then went aout putting them away

"huh, the filing system for these books seems pretty easy at least..."

Nellie sighed, looking at a window for a moment. She realized she still hadn't found a lake, and at the rate this was going, she wouldn't. Looking back at the computer, she realized she'd put the book in her lap in wrong, and sighed once more. It was always harder to take a book out of the system, than to put it in in the first place.

James saw Nellie looking out the window

"See anything?" he asked casually, looking over her shoulder out the window, it was then he noticed.

"wow nellie, you're skin is getting really dry... no offence but... look"

"Nothing..." Nellie replied passively, looking at another book as he spoke again. Blinking a few times, she looked at him, before down at her right arm, seeing a few dry patches that didn't look healthy. Weird, it hadn't done this at home...but then, she was living in a lake town, where the air was moist at all times. Frowning, she scratched at it, before twitching a little as a small sliver of blood bubbled.

"I don't know why..." She stated simply, though she knew full well. But she also knew this boy was human, and regardless of what this school was about, human's didn't need to know everything. As her mother said, at least. Logging the book she had, she added it to the cart, wondering what teacher would be best to ask on the touchy subject.

James was going to put it to the back of his mind, assume she just had sensitive skin and didn't use lotion, but then came the small sliver of blood.

it wasn't so much the sliver of blood that concerned him, it was the fact that all it took was a light scratch with her fingers to draw blood.

"woah woah!"

he said, putting a hand on her shoulder

"come on, drawing blood from a small scratching like that isn't normal, i think you need to see the nurse... or something! i doubt the librarians wil care if you leave if its a medical thing"

Blinking a few times, Nellie stared up at him. "No big deal..." She stated simply, grabbing another book and said, without even checking, "No harm done, see it's stopped already..." In the back of her mind, she had a feeling Gullivan and Ross would have a fit when they realized how poorly she'd taken care of herself alone without them.

"no really i'm worried, its not normal for someone to bleed so easily" he insisted "how about i take you to the nurse's office?"

After a moment, Nellie sighed, setting her last book on the cart. "Fine..." She stated simply, standing and flattening down her skirt, staring at him.

James could hear the annoyance in her voice, but in his mind, this was something that had to be checked out, like it or not.

"okay, lets go then..."

ad they were heading out they were confronted by one of the librarians

"where do you think you're going?"

"to the nurse's office, Nellie here started bleeding..."

"oh, okay then go on"

and like that, they were free and clear

As James escorted her through the rings, so to speak, of getting out of the library, Nellie's frown deepened. Turning back towards the librarian as they went past, she said in the form of a thank you, "I'd be happy to double the work done for you...."

Out in the hall, she started walking towards the nurses office, having found that one on her way back to the dorms. "Are we allowed to carry water bottles? Big ones, I mean...." Her one hand fiddled with the charm on her bracelet full of lake water that looked nothing more than a gel bead.
