"yeah you can, see?"

in the distance, some girls with fins n their ears, clearly mermaids in human form had big water bottles with them, each was taking a big gulp every few seconds

"and i've seen some slimes carrying even bigger bottles so i'm sure you..."

then it clicked

"you're not a human, are you?"

Nellie looked at him for a moment, before rolling her eyes. "None of your concern." She said sharply, cutting down a hallway that held the nurses' office at the end of it. Reaching the door, she bit her lip lightly, before knocking softly on the door.

"hey come on!..."

James was actually kind of annoyed, he had assumed her to be human, so he thought she was suffering from some medical problems, now he thought that she was just a water-based other-worlder and he was concerned over nothing.

"come on, tell me!"

the nurse answered the door, it was not a human, the one who answered looked like a woman, except for the scales at the side of her head, the big tail behind her and the massive reptilian wings on her back

"yes?.. can i help you?"

she spoke in a strange monotone, her verticle pupil eyes expanding and shrinking as they seemed to focus in on the 2 in front of her, and zoom in on them.

"Just forget about it, okay?" Nellie said sharply, before looking up as the nurse opened the door. Staring at the woman, she gulped, and played with the edge of her shirt. "...May I speak with you....about some ah...." Nellie squirmed more, glancing over at James, before mouthing, female things... and she hoped it was enough to get the nurse to let her in, without giving James a larger window of questioning.

James sighed and nodded, taking a few steps back, leaning on the wall as the nurse put a hand on Nellie's shoulder and bought her in.

after the door was closed she spoke, this time not in a monotone

"so, whats wrong? sick? dizzy? hurt?

Nellie held out her arm, scratching at it again as it cracked and bled more, the dryness seemingly spreading. "...I've never had it happen before....not even at home...I know it's from lack of the water, but I don't know how to actually stop it, cause drinking it won't help...." She frowned deeply, watching her arm before licking the blood off and sighing, looking up at the nurse.

the nurse had a look at her skin

"hmm... this is just normal drying, tell me have yu been exposed to a large magic concentration recently, like a powerful spell? those can take the moisture from the skin of Water Nymphs... i can telly ou a nymph because look, you're skin is flaking in a very particular scale-like pattern, only water nymphs flake exclusively in that way... here"

the nurse got up, and lead Nellie to the nurse's office bathroom

"okay, get you're uniform off and get in the tub" as she said this, she summoned up a hovering ball of water, showing she was gonna summon water around nellie to re-hydrate her.

Nellie nodded her head, "Yeah....a boy in my gym class made the walls explode..." She didn't quite know how to put it other than that, and while she followed the nurses orders and stepped into the tub, she shivered a little. "But....I did't get like this until over an hour later...."

when nellie said about a boy blowing up a wall, the teacher rolled her eyes

"men..."

when nellie got in the tub and said about this happening over an hour later, the teacher began working on getting more water.

"yeah, you see you were dehydrated from the moment he used that spell, but it took an hour for the moisture to really leave your skin and for you to actually notice you're dehydrated, incoming"

the dragoness dropped the water, soon Nellie felt the plesent sensation of her Nymph skin sucking up the water like a sponge, seeing colour really return to her body

the dragoness dipped a finger in the water, when she bought it back up there was a trail of water following it in the air

"open wide, we gotta get some water down you're throat as well..."

after nellie did so, the teacher touched her tongue with her finger and the water flowed into nellie's mouth, re-hydrating her insides as well, she started to feel better on the inside almost instantly.

From the moment the water touched her skin, it shimmered for a moment, before shelling off into a different colour and texture completely, skin going a pale gray, speckled with coral colour every here and there in patches, webbing forming between fingers and and a penguin-esque design forming through her 'hair'. Opening her mouth when directly, she murmered softly a thank you that came out more like a purring noise as an odd sort of relief went over her.

by the time the water had run out, Nellie was fully hydrated, as if she had just climbed out of a clean freshwater lake.

"okay, now after school i want you to find a teacher or a senior water-based student and ask them how to retain water when around magic, or else you'll bedehydrated every time you're near a powerful spell"

since nellie's skin absorbed the water, when she got up she seemed to be completely dry, no need for a towel.

"and that should solve you're dryness problem for now, anything else?"

"Yessum..." Nellie said, pulling back on her uniform with ease, giving it a few moments before her skin shifted back to looking human. "....auhm...how do you get a boy to stop bothering you...?"

the nurse thought for a moment

"men are persistent so its difficult, you could just act like a ***** to him, but that could end up making him hate you, not to mention every male is different, i reccomend you just find some way to stop him from bothering you, maybe avoid him as best as you can, don't look at him, he'll get the point... i'm guessing the boy in question is the one who came here with you, what did he just tag along on the way?"

Nellie nodded her head at the question, skimming through the words as she pushed her glasses up on her nose. "Yes...he also insisted that I come here in the first place....granted, I would have...just not until after detention..." Shaking her head, she smiled politely, "But thank you ma'am..."

the nurse gave a slight wave as Nellie left, soon to sit back down with her crossword puzzle.

outside, james raised his head "well, you're looking 100% better, how do you feel?"

"Better..." She said simply, before turning on her heel, adjusting her shirt in the process. Moving back down the hallway planning on returning to the library, Nellie rubbed her arm in thought. What teachers did she think could help her...but then again, there was also the other water nymph she'd met, the one that was on her last year here who could help her too...but where would she find her?

James went with her, noticing her seemingly ignoring him.

"uhh, are you sure you're feeling okay? you seem a bit different"

Nellie looked at him for a moment, before shaking her head and ducking down a side ally. By the time anyone would have been able to look around it, she was gone.

Breathing quickly, close to hyper ventilating, Nellie's eyes flickered around wildly trying to move anything but finding she couldn't. Slowly, a dark figure with glowing green orbs came into her line of sight. As something moved, a shiny metal clock came into view and started to click down, a tiredness flowing over her as she fell under into darkness.

As the clock did it's work, Hannah stared at the nymph silently. She was risking a lot, kidnapping a student, but it was needed. It needed a safe place without risk of being found. Not yet at least. When enough space had been made in the child's energy, she pulled from her pocket a ragged faded white bundle long stained with what looked like rust. Brushing off the dust from the tag that said Deathlind, she unfolded the lab coat her mother had worn and pulled out a glowing red object.

Muttering softly, she set it against the child's head, and watched as it disappeared. A voice cooing softly. "Yes....I know...." Patting the nymph on the head and releasing the spell, the child would wake up with no knowledge of what happened inside of a broom closet on the fifth floor of the school. As black tendrils wrapped around Hannah, she hissed at the calling card of a dead man walking.

James looked around the corner, to find it empty

"what the?... Nellie?"

he lokoed around some pillars on the side of the hallway, she was gone, he couldnt even feel the tingle of magic like he did before, what the hell happened here?

"Nellie!?..."

he looked around, realizing he had no idea where he was

"....damnit"

meanwhile in the main hall, sealed away from the eyes of students the real headmaster was adressing the ghostly images of the "elder magi council"

"Chairmen, i don't give a damn about you're restrictions, if i have violated any of the terms of our contract then i will not resist arrest, however the only limitation to my orders regarding the core are that i cannot give it to untrustworthy sites, and i cannot move it to unsafe locations, the cell underneath "charlie" is by far one of the safest places in this world, or would you rather we move it back to the world of Manzana, where the other sister-core was stolen?"

he looked to an image of a Lamia, he looked away, clearly ashamed.

"Council, my world is the only one that has succeeded in protecting items of value from this thief, or thieves, and untill you can find anywhere wih a better track reccord than earth, under the protection fo the Highland Family and the Battlemage order, i believe our meeting is ajourned..."

the ghostly shapes dissapeared, Marco tilted his head

".... Hannah"

Eyes solidly forming deep into a shadow as her name was spoken, they stared at him. Stared at the man she had once referred to as Uncle, someone she hadn't seen for twelve years. Stepping from the shadows a young woman emerged, silver hair pulled tight into a traditional bun like her mother had kept it, completely with hair sticks and pale skin covered in scars, a necklace hanging off one ear, a feather with a orb, exactly like Alec's necklace with the difference of a blue orb, over red. "Marcus."

Marco couldnt help but get goosebumps at the energy around Hannah.

"Its been awhile... i would say you're looking well, but honestly that aura you're giving off..."

he removed his hood, revealing his shortened black hair, stubble, the familiar scar over his eye.

"Hannah, i know i was a bit hasty in trying to take you under my wing after you're mother's death... i've been waiting 12 years to say i'm sorry for that, i'v been keeping her gravestone shiny and i've been replacing the flowers thrice yearly, one at the start of each year, once at her birthday, and once at the aniversary of her death, and every time i've been hoping to see you there... i've been waiting for 12 years to tell you i'm sorry, and i still am"

he took a deep breath, pulling out his jet-black wand, carved from the bones of a demon lord.

"i know you've been with Nexter for these past 12 years too hannah, so you know why i have to know why you're here..."

Listening to him speak, arms slowly folded themselves over across her chest. Eyes staying locked on his face, even when he drew out his wand, she held back a biting remark on his apology, skipping over it completely, she settled on the last thing he'd said. "So you know a name. Does that really give you the right to inquire as to why I would be here?"

Marco's reponse came less than a second after Hannah finished

"yes it does, Nexter is a criminal, the man who hunted down and slaughtered you're mother in cold blood, and you ran right into his arms and ended up under his wing"

he tightened his grip on his wand

"a wanted criminal.. you were raised and trained by him, so i have plenty reason to ask why you're here... and don't think that just because you're Alec's little girl that i won't take you into custody"

"For reasons you could never do yourself." Hannah bit back, before a dark, destructive grin spread across her face "He's a monster, a disease, an infection that has yet to be discovered." Staring at him, she extended one hand slightly, fingers twirling as a hologram appeared just above her hand of a small red object. "There are things no one needs to know, Marcus, even you..."

"oh?... Hannah you have no idea whats... wait"

his eyes narrowed, he looked at the hologram, and suddenly it clicked... so, sighing he put the wand back in it's holster.

"i'm getting too old for this shit... Hannah, i can see you're not exactly 100% on Nexter's side, i can tell since all his other associates can't form sentences once we come in contact with them and that... thats the red rose isn't it?..."

he chuckled a bit "that one has eluded me thus far, each time i get close to it, it suddenly dissapears... i'm guessing you have something to do with that"

he couldnt help but see Hannah's resemblence to her mother, this made him smile a bit "you talk in riddles hannah, you're mother did that so much it drove me mad, heh..."
