Realistic or Modern Writing our Sins one at a time

Max got up slowly once he had drifted off and went to put away the first aid stuff and grab him some painkillers. She sighed heavily as she sat watching him while he slept just trying to make sure he was okay. This wasn't the first time he'd had a mission like this, and it definitely wasn't the worst shape he'd been in. However, it had been the first in a long time that he had been like this.

Eddie gave a small smile and wrapped an arm around her "Because you know that I will never let anything happen to you." He murmured before kissing the side of her head "I love you."

She smiled and kissed the side of his jaw. “Love you too puppy.” She murmured, fidgeting in the car on the way over but made it in good time for once and held his arm on the way in, groaning a little when his phone rang but paused when she noticed the caller ID said it was max. “You better get that. I’ll get you a drink.” She told him, going to find the bar.

He was panting a lot more than what was normal and starting to burn a fever but otherwise was sleeping soundly except for the occasional groan, not waking up for the doorbell for the pizza either

Max frowned deeply when she noticed how he was getting worse and pulled out her phone. She took a deep breath and dialed Eddie's number hoping he might pick up "Ed? Ed its Aaron...he just got back from a job and he is pretty badly injured, stab wound to the side. Listen he needs out of this, please I'm begging you here, talk to Rick and let him come back home to be at your side." She pleaded down the line.

Eddie frowned as he saw Max's name and stepped to the side to answer. He heard her pleas and gave a heavy sigh "My offer will always be there Max, listen get him checked out and healed. I'll speak with Rick and get this official alright? But when he is up and going tell him to call me." He explained before hanging up after goodbies and went back to Carmen.

He eventually woke up later into the evening and frowned, looking around a little confused, feeling a cool rag on his forehead. “Did the pizza get here yet?” He mumbled, trying to sit up some but quickly thought better of it when it made him dizzy.

She passed him a glass of wine and smiled. “Everything okay?” She asked, grabbing a couple of the canapés gojng round. “Kelly is still wrapped up with her sister and her friends. I’ll chat to hee later if at all tonight.” She smiked.

Max looked at him as he woke up and nodded some "Yes it did, here take this get your fever down. I'll heat you up some after." She murmured worriedly as she looked at the wound and sighed heavily "Let me change your dressings."

Eddie nodded and gave a small sigh "Job gone bad, Aaron got hurt. Max says he wants to agree to my offer but I need to hear it from his lips." He explained quickly before sipping his drink "Its a problem to worry about tomorrow."

He nodded tiredly, taking the tablets she passed him, frowning, "Where's my phone? I need to call Jack and let him know what happened." He mumbled, "I think... I think I left it in the car." He mumbled frowning, "Please, just one call then no work for a while. Promise." He mumbled, holding his car keys out to her, forgetting that the front seat of the car was covered in blood.

She nodded and frowned "Well I hope he's alright." She told him, smiling a little as she looked around, "See this is where my father went wrong. He never did the social stuff. Not parties let alone philanthropic events." She muttered "Didn't have an image that people looked up to." She muttered. She had come from a mob background. Norwegian not American but it had certainly helped her ease into the life with Eddie

Max was going to protest but sighed heavily as he handed her his keys. She went out to the car and went wide eyed seeing how everything was covered in blood. She gulped before reaching into the floor board where the phone had actually fallen and got back inside quickly "Um....babe...this phone is trashed. Let me get your burner." She said as she walked into the house. She came back a few minutes later with his burner phone and took a shaky breath "I'm calling the cleaner, your car might need replacing...the blood has probably seeped into the seats by now."

Eddie gave a small nod and smiled some "Mmm thats one thing Rick always drilled into us, make sure to have a good public image." He murmured while he silently watched the people around them. He had always known about her family, he was thankful that she had been pretry open with him about it for the most part. There were a few things she still kept quiet on, more towards her relationships with them, but he wasn't one to push; he knew she'd tell him when she was ready.

He frowned but nodded, not really heading her and just called one of his guys, yelling him what the next steps were gonna be until he couldn’t keep his eyes open anymore, falling asleep again.

She smiled a little, soon going to make the rounds with the people she knew, enjoying herself around company for once. She loved Eddie dearly but sometimes it could be a little lonely in the house so it was nice to get out every so often.

Eddie gave a small smile as he watched her go around and socialize while he stood back. He always loved seeing her so happy, he knew her staying at the house took a toll on her so this was always nice to him.

Max gave a heavy sigh as she watched him the entire night just wanting to make sure he was okay.

She eventually made her way back to him after having a few too many drinks, slipping her arms around his neck and smiled, "I think it's time for us to go home." She slurred a little, giggling "Catherine had me doing jagerbombs like we were 21 again." She laughed.

Aaron woke up early the following morning, feeling like he'd been hit with a freight train but hearing voices at the front door and carefully hauled himself up and shuffled out there to find a couple of officers stood talking to Max, presumably about the car being covered in blood while it was parked out on the street. "Officers. Can I help?" He asked them, still feverish and shaky but at least breathing better

Eddie chuckled havung been watching her the whole time. He knew she was done for after they started on the shots. He kissed her gently and nodded "Alright beautiful lets get going." He said softly before taking her hand in his starting to navigate them towards the door.

Max stood at the door with the police frowning deeply wondering who had called about the car. Normally they stayed off the radar so this was a bit confusing. She frowned deeply when she heard Aaron come up behind her "Baby go back to bed, I was just letting these lovely officers know you had a hunting accident with the car."

He frowned and lifted up his shirt. “Got into it with a buck when I got too close on accident. I came off worse. Didn’t wanna call an ambulance though with how expensive it was. I’ll move it onto the drive later today. Stop the neighbours worrying.” He assured them, leaning against the wall a little.

She was fully distracted the whole time, almost ending up slipping away from him a couple times until eventually she found herself being bundled into the car. Beyond that it was a blur until she was waking up in the morning feeling quite rough and groaning when Eddie was opening the curtains. “No. No sunlight.” She grumbled.

Max smiled sweetly at the cops and thanked them as they left. She turned her attention to Aaron quickly and frowned at how badly he looked "Come on, up to bed. I'm calling the doctor." She murmured before helping him to their room.

Eddie chuckled as he opened the curtains the next morning "Oh now don't do that, its nearly ten." He said before going over and kissing the top of her head "Here take some aspirin."

“Yes ma’am.” He mumbled frowning, following her carefully. “I need to talk to Eddie.” He frowned.

Carmen groaned but took the painkillers and rubbed at her face some. “I can’t believe you let me drink that much.” She grumbled a little.

Max nodded and sighed heavily "I called him yesterday, he knows you'll be calling at some point." She explained hoping he wouldn't be pissed off at her.

Eddie chuckled again and smiled at her "Because I wanted you to have a good time and let loose." He murmured happily "What would you like for breakfast? I'll cook you something."

She smiled and stretched out a little. “Mmmm a full English sounds really good.” She told him, “please.” She pouted while the dogs climbed onto the bed to cuddle with her.

He just nodded and frowned some, stopping halfway down the hall. “I feel weird.” He mumbled, swaying on his feet a little.

Eddie nodded smiling at her "You got it beautiful." He murmured before going downstairs. After about an hour he made his way up with a tray for her and placed it across her lap once he got in the room "Here you are beautiful, full English."

Max frowned deeply and steadied him before helping him lay on the floor "Stay here, I'm going to call the doctor." She said softly before running to their room to grab her phone.

He frowned as he lay there, struggling to remember where he was or why he was on the floor, hearing maxs voice and frowned. “Where are we?” He mumbled, shivering badly and just about keeping his eyes open for her.

She smiled and thanked him, watching him getting dressed. “You working today?” She asked him, munching down on the breakfast, smiling at him. He truly had shown her that she was worth it.

Max frowned deeply as she came back to him "Hey...you're at home love. On the floor of the hallway, doctor is gonna be here soon." She explained gently to him.

Eddie sat beside her and stole a piece of extra toast he had made after he had gotten ready "Yeah got a few small things to handle, then I gotta check in on this shit with Aaron." He explained

“No… no I’m not… I don’t need a doctor.” He mumbled, trying to get up and failing miserably.

She frowned but nodded. “He okay?” She asked him curiously, just looking him up and down while he buttoned his shirt, hee jaw a little slack. “You sure you gotta leave like right now?” She asked, biting down on her lip.

Max frowned deeply and got him down again "Aaron stop please, just listen to me." She begged as she watched him start to get worse.

Eddie gave a nod and sighed "Pretty sure he is fine." He murmured while he buttoned up his shirt. He glanced at her and smirked seeing the look on her face "Mmm I'm sure I can spare a few minutes." He said before he stopped buttoning his shirt and climbed onto the bed kissing her deeply.

She smiled and nodded, moving her tray to her nightstand… she let him get up once they were done and pulled herself out of bed as well “Be safe. Have a good day.” She smiled, pecking his cheek while he got redressed and went to shower.

He groaned a little, still trying to get up, not understanding why she wouldn’t let him until he couldn’t move anymore and lay there panting heavily, his vision blurring and passing out before the help arrived

Eddie gave a small laugh before he got ready again and made his way to his study. He sighed heavily hearing his phone going off and frowning as he saw Max's name "Whats wrong?" He asked knowing she'e only be calling if Aaron was in trouble.

Max dialed Eddie as soon as she got the doctor up to Aaron to look him over "I think he got an infection or the damage is worse internally. He collapsed in the hall and has a bad fever." She explained before taking a deep breath to calm herself "I've got the doctor here now with him."

Aarons breathing had begun feeling like he was drowning and their doctor called for an ambulance, trying to keep him as stable as possible for now. “Maxine!” He called for her. “He’s gotta go to the hospital there’s not enough that I can do for him right now.” He told her

Carmen got herself together, heading out for the day to go and get the final touches of Christmas organised.

Eddie overheard the doctor and frowned deeply "I'll be there in a few hours Max, just keep me posted." He muttered before giving Carmen a call to let her know he would be needing to leave and to keep Gareth with her for the day.

Max rushed into the hall once Eddie had hung up and looked at Aaron worriedly "What do you need me to do?" She asked as he started to pull out his phone to dial the ambulance.
