Thing is, the Gift to the Wild is something of a gradient, but not everyone may experience it as such. Some (like Alasdair) may adapt to hearing the Wild better than others (like Djen).

I guess you could say that you use the Gift, but the Wild uses you. Gifted have to reach out to use their abilities, but people who can channel Wild magic have to open up to it.

Every time I see the name Djen I get confused momentarily because it sounds and looks kind of like my own name for a second so I'm always like huh-wat-oh

So, when it comes to Djen, it's less a fear of bodily danger, and more a fear of the vast and the unknown? Did I get that right @Red Thunder? Sounds like me when I think about college

I think I have a better understanding of both the Gift and the Wild now, and a better grasp on my character backstory. Not sure if I should add it to my CS, but PROGRESS HAS BEGUN MY FRIENDS! But seriously though, thanks for clearing things up, @The One Called X. Not to mention, I think we should name Red the MVP of the pigment oriented trio. What say you, Cloudy?

Exactly! Ever read any Lovecraft? I'm sorts basing it on how people in his mythos react to cosmic horrors: vague indescribable but overwhelming fear of something far greater than themselves.

I've heard of him, but haven't actually read any of his works. But from what I've gathered from Google, it sounds interesting enough to warrant a try… I'm putting it on my list

The Color Out of Space, the Dunwich Horror, and of course, At the Mountains of Madness.

I thought I was going to have to lug my couch potato self to the library again, but lo and behold, I found them online within easy reach. Ah, Internet… is ruining my generation ;; *hides away my overdue book*

Arg. I know maybe some people with Djen are waiting on him to respond, but I've got very little to work with at the moment. Anyone else in that crowd is welcome to interject. Otherwise my response will likely be a very short: "...and he ran off like a bloody coward, unable to express his innate fear of the very thing for which those of the Order seemed to have no comprehension."

I was actually going to write a post for Quinn now, give me a few and you should have something to work with. :)

@CloudyBlueDay @Semblance @Red Thunder @RubyRose

I am stupid tired and Kieran ate up all my creativity and Ivy isn't doing much right now anyway, so if you want to reference her, she's probably standing next to Soren being bewildered and a bit nervous.

@Kal I kind of feel like Idris would know Kieran from having to break up drunken brawls that he was in the middle of. (>>)

I'm outta creativity myself, and as I have to get up early for the first day on the new job, I oughta hit the sack. I'll see about replying tomorrow.

Good night all!

He has his moments.

My new life goal is to get him shipped with all of the ladies. I, like my character, just want to prove that I can.

Also I am kinda craving Kieran/Ivy interactions. He is most genuine with her because she is pretty much his little girl and he wants to keep her safe from everything forever. And he's scared of influencing her too much because deep down he knows he's a mess and he wants to protect her from that most of all. I am sitting on top of an angst/fluff mine and it brings me so much joy.

Also I have been remiss not to mention this before but HENRY. I LOVE HIM AND ROSE. They are BROS and it is BEAUTIFUL.

Pff that's alright. My first few roleplays, I had no plot at all, really. I was just like hey. Magical bad guy that suddenly is main character's uncle plot twist hello.
