Basically, everywhere that isn't cultivated and frequented by humans. However, an area being wild doesn't necessarily mean that it's Wild. However, since Surton is so close to the Red Mountains, it's a fairly safe assumption to make in this region.

Thanks for the clarification. Also, besides not being able to use the Gift and the rumored wyverns, how dangerous is it to venture into the Wild areas? Say for example, bogs and forests near Surton? 'Cause that's kinda what Alasdair does for a living, and Djen seems preeettty traumatized (understatement of the century)

The whole traumatization is actually my take on what would happen should someone with a particular Gift be able to experience, however briefly, the parallel magic of the Wild. From what I can tell, the Wild magic is so foreign and strange to anything even like a gift by its nature that any Gifted who is able to sense the Wild magic would react to it severely. The terror Djen felt was my narrative interpretation of that.


I hope I did X's vision of this justice. I have kinda built Djen's immediate backstory around that, and I realize now that I've made a great deal of assumptions.( O.o )
