"Whats the plan after reaching the pharmacy?" Joseph asked. His leg injury was kinda stinging, and he'd rather reach it quickly.

"Dont know yet. Lets first reach the shelter then we can all decide on how to survive this cold jungle." He looked back and noticed Joseph wincing in pain. He reaches to his backpack and took some painkillers.


"Joseph these will keep the pain at bay till we reach the Pharmacy then i can take a good look at it." He hands the painkillers to him.

"Don't complain" Melia said. She tried to joke, but it came out more seriously than she wanted. Stupid.

"Dont be hard on Melia Joseph. It was a joke only said in a serious tone. Give her a break next time. " He smiled and looked at Melia for a moment before facing forward and scanning the area for dangers.

Melia smiled a little. She noticed the man looking around and did the same, she didn't notice anything so she kept walking.

Taylor followed them all slowly, taking in all her surroundings. She kicked some snow with her foot and shivered. "This snow gets colder all the time."

Robert looked up at the skies and noticed it was approaching dark. He scanned around and saw a building he had marked for easy reference. "Good we are almost there" he mumbled to himself.


After twenty minutes, they reached the pharmacy. He opened the door and ushered everyone in. "Welcome to the Pharmacy. Its not much but its enough for the night.

Joseph was about to reply, but then noticed something in the distance. "Guys? I think we have company." Joseph said, pointing towards some people with guns heading our way. I just pulled out my new pistol, and loaded it, aiming it at them.

She pulled out her dagger and tried to look as menacing as she could. Taylor was a horrible fighter, but perhaps she could intimidate them. She realized how unthreatening she looked and facepalmed. "Shhhh..." she shushed Joseph.

"Shit." Melia sighed. "Everyone get down and stay quiet!" She ordered. "I'm worthless when it comes to shooting." She admitted to them. "So unless you want me leaving, we either run, or hide wait until the get inside to attack." She said, walking to the back of the pharmacy, opening a back door. "So which will it be?" She said, shooting Joseph an intimidating glare.

"No need to get tense Melia.." Robert finally broke the ice. "..we can wait it out to see if they will be entering the pharmacy." He looked up and saw around 4 people wandering about in the open. He held his gun close to him and at the ready. He gently closed the door and waited by the cashier at the ready. The thugs came to the door and when they tried to open it, they found it was locked.


"Damn!!!Lets look for another place to turn in." One of them said


"Lets break the door down then" Another retorted back.


"Naaah not worth it. This place by itself is a dump. And i am very doubtful there is food in here" The leader replied.


"What do we do boss" One asked, clutching his stomach.


"Well its not dark yet so lets go to the minimart a few block from here. I hope there is food."


"And booze!!" They all laughed at the reply and left.

Joseph waited a few more minutes before finally speaking; "Thank god they are gone." Joseph sighed in relief, looking around.

Robert takes a final peep and sees that they are long gone. "That was too close. Now we can all take a breather and calm ourselves. We will be alright at night. Joseph help me cover up the windows and doors. We will use the backdoor to get out of here."

Taylor sat down and shrugged. "Well I'm getting something to eat then." She pulled out some beef jerky. "This stuff tastes a lot better when it's not frozen."

Melia started looking through the pharmacy, she picked up a couple bottles of Extra Strength Tylenol and stuffed them in her bag, she kept looking around for anything else she thought would be useful.

Melia was a little annoyed when Taylor started following her. She wasn't used to this, especially since her sister died. "No, nothing in particular. Anything you need? Medicine wise at least." She asked her, picking up some chap-stick and opening up one before applying it and stuffing it in her pocket.

Melia found some old water bottles in the back that weren't completely frozen. Four to be exact. "Hey guys!" She yelled. "Water!!" She laughed tossing one to everyone and saving the last one for herself.

Taylor caught a bottle and grinned. "We're going to liveeeeee!" She laughed and crashed to the ground, drinking the water. She was starting to go insane a little, for reasons unknown.

Joseph just shook his head, amused while taking a drink from the new found water bottle. "God, so refreshing." Joseph grinned, loosening up a bit. "But what are we gonna do with sleeping problems?" He asked.

"Aaahh that is my cue." Robert said as he drank the cool refreshing water. "Give me a minute i will be right back." With that he got out of the pharmacy using the backdoor and headed west to a rundown cafe. He got through the back door and entered the pantry. He took out 5 sleeping bags and went back to the pharmacy. "I managed to steal some of these sleeping bags a few weeks back from the raiders so please,take one and keep it.Its yours now."

Joseph just stared for a second before blinking. "Thanks man you seriously saved us>" Joseph said, smiling. Joseph begun to open up a bit, leaving a warmer side to the others, as he did consider them close friends. 'Its been a while since I had such close friends; I guess this is one of the better things about the apocalypse.' Joseph thought, smiling as he watched the others prepare to sleep, before he too decided to lie down and sleep. But then, he thought of a problem; "Guys how about guards? We need someone to keep watch so we don't get ambushed. I can go for the first shift but who wants to go next?"
