Raven

Raven barely glanced at him when he sat down next to her. She almost rolled her eyes, he was really trying to make her.. feel better? Is that what he was doing? She shrugged at his words. Yes, he was right. It was stupid. But it bothered her. She furrowed her brows, if he thought that high school romance didn't last.. did he think that his relationship wouldn't work out?

She sighed heavily when asked about telling June, Raven kissed her. That had to... didn't that say it for her? Or did she need another hint. Raven wasn't good at this. It was fairly easy for her to get with whomever, a kiss usually said it all. But it was obvious that June was different, and she hated it. Raven didn't know what she felt, even if she did tell her. What was she supposed to say? 'I like you.' Okay.. maybe that's exactly what she was supposed to say.

All of this was just making her angry, Raven kicked a pebble that was oddly on the stairs, how convenient it was there for her to get her anger out. She huffed a breath listening to Jace talk. Raven turned to look at him when he told her she was better than someone's second choice. Surprised as she was, and on the inside doubted it was true. Raven couldn't help but smile. He was trying, and the fact someone actually was trying... She pulled the beanie off his head and placed it on her own. "...Of course it'd be crazy. What sane person would pick anyone else over me?" Giving a half-shrug, putting her hands on the stairs and leaning back, eying him playfully. "Is this the part were we kiss?" Raven raised a brow, waiting for his reaction.

Not even a full second later, she couldn't keep a straight face, and laughed so hard Raven was sure she snorted. Although she might've thought it was embarrassing. What was he gonna do, tell people? "Relax, beanie boy. I'm kidding." Letting the silence fall over them once again. After a few moments she nudged him softly with her shoulder. "...Thanks." Turning to look at him and giving a small grin. Okay, so he tried to make her feel better.

He succeeded.

He had no idea what was going on, and Mason wasn't exactly in the mood for a cigarette for the first time in like... forever. Actually, it was true, Mason couldn't remember the last time that he hadn't been dying to get out a cigarette. Usually the idea completely ate away at him and now with June gone and Carter even speaking about it, Mason realized just how much he wanted that.

"I thought you didn't smoke." Mason pointed out as they came outside and he pulled his hand away from Carter. He noticed Jace speaking with Raven outside, too, and all he could do was roll his eyes at them, although he didn't look over at them. "So what's up? Need a wingman or something?" He joked, smirking at her and taking out a cigarette.

Ash
tumblr_inline_p8anemZby91urfelz_540.gif

She was so proud of Ryder for not punching Mads in the face. Not that she believed that Ryder would necessarily punch some dude that randomly talked to her although so far... Well, Ash couldn't think of any guy who had talked to her since the whole thing after the party and admitting of feelings. So yeah, she was proud, although it was easy to tell that there was some tension in the air, but hey, it was something. She smiled as Mads walked away. "Bye, I'll see you later, Mads."

Ash then turned her attention to Ryder, grinning up at him. "Can I just say that this was the best Homecoming surprise I've ever had?" She said, although well, Ash hadn't planned on him coming, and hadn't exactly done everything she had planned so well. "And I will enjoy the rest of the night with you, but first, I need to go find like Grace and see how her night is going with Sawyer, and maybe some other people. Okay? But like five minutes. Max."

Okay, that was a total lie, but Ryder didn't need to know that. Talking with Grace would probably take way longer than five minutes. "I'll come find you when I'm done, okay?" She said, and then leaned up, pulling Ryder down so that he was closer to her height and giving him a light kiss on the cheek. "Have fun."

With that, she let go of Ryder and walked away to look around for Grace, although she didn't see her anywhere in the room. Ash hesitated, wondering where she could go now that she couldn't find any of her friends. She bit her lip and started heading towards the cupcake table, although there was no way she was eating one -- but hey, at least it was a place for her to distract herself from everything else was going on at the dance.

On her way, Ash caught sight of other Jace. Jace that wasn't her brother and although yeah, he wasn't someone she would consider a friend, he was at least someone that she knew the name of. And someone that she was almost certain wouldn't get mad at her for saying hello. So, albeit somewhat awkwardly, she walked over to him, her hands awkwardly grasped together in front of her. "Hey. You're Jace, right?" She asked, smiling as she stopped next to him. "I'm Ash." Although chances were, he knew exactly who she was. Thanks to the whole popular cheerleader thing, people usually knew her.

Jace

Okay, so she had taken her anger out on a pebble instead of Jace, and that had to mean something. And then she was pulling the yellow beanie off his head, and panic started to set in to Jace. Two years. He had had that beanie for two years and in those days, he'd never once parted with it, except to go to the beach, or when it was washed. Both of which were rare. And now here it was, no longer on his head or in his pocket, and Jace had no idea what to even do. He couldn't concentrate on the conversation at hand. The beanie... it was the only thing he had left of his mother, of the only person who had ever believed in him.

"P-please... don't." He said, his words stuttering and shallow as he took the beanie back from her head and held it between his trembling fingers. Jace's gaze looked down at the hat, so much so that he barely even heard anything that Raven said. "Right... kiss... ha..." He mumbled -- even that wasn't getting to him in the same way.

When she said thanks, all he did was nod his head. "Any time." Jace replied and then carefully pulled the beanie back over his mess of blonde hair, and finally was able to breathe normally and feel some sense of relief and calm. "I-I meant it. No one deserves to be a second choice, you know? At least, that's what I think."

Ryder

After Ash walked away to go be social, he surveyed the room to see if he could find anyone to waste time with. At this point, he was just killing time until it was socially acceptable to head to the after party. He had to wait to round up Alaska and Chase before he could leave since they'd all driven together, although he was sure Alaska could get a ride with one of her friends.

Deciding to walk into the hallway to get some air, he spotted a familiar red-head and suddenly all the anger from Monday resurfaced as he remembered what Mason had said about his date. It was unfair that he'd said such awful things about her and then brought her to homecoming as his arm candy. Mason was the most despicable person he'd met, even worse than Kanen. At least he wasn't two-faced.

"Hey, June...can I talk to you about something?" He blurted out, deciding his plan of action without a second thought. She deserved to know.

June
She tried her best not to look tired or worried or every single emotion she feels right now. However, she was doing horribly and found herself leaning against the wall. Maybe she should actually talk to Raven about the whole thing. There’s nothing wrong with saying you don’t know how you feel about her. Yes, there is something wrong because there’s consistent love between you and Raven and you and Mason. No one told her kissing meant this. It would be nice to get a warning label about kissing. Unfornately, there was none and she was stuck.

She opened her eyes slightly when she heard footsteps. Then opened them fully when she realized it was Ryder. She looked away, trying to pretend she was busy until he talked to her. Which she was surprised about. “Um. Sure? What do you need?” She asked turning to him.

Raven watched him with confusion when he took the beanie from her. Obviously it meant alot to him. She shouldn't of done it. Narrowing her eyes at him for a second, putting a pin in it to remember to ask him about it later, furrowing her brows. "Anytime huh." She nodded slowly. "Hm. I might just take you up on those impromptu pep-talks." Giving a small shrug. "I am sorry, though. For the other day." Smiling weakly at him.

The sweet but depressing conversation was interrupted by a certain brown haired-hockey player. "Seems like your girl's out of their clutches." Raising her eyebrows suggestively. She'd only talked to Nova a few times, but she seemed like a nice girl, they make a good couple. Hopefully it'll last. "Go get your girl." She told him with tilt of her head.

Turning her attention to Alaska, still leaning on the stairs. "Hey, little bird. Whatcha doin out here?"
Raven was in a much better mood thanks to Jace, maybe he was actually good at giving advice. Well.. she wasn't sure, but she felt better. So good on him for that.

Sawyer
Dayton. Any semblance of calm Sawyer had before completely dissipated. She whirled on Natalie with an expression so dark it could probably kill someone of weaker constitution. Even at the mention of the town's name Sawyer's head was spinning with suppressed memories she would rather forget all together. Sawyer stalked eight up into Natalie's face, but made no move to touch her.

"How dare you." Sawyer scowled, her jaw working, "How dare you tell her about him. You had no right. No fucking right." She turned away from Natalie and shook her head, trying to reel in her anger before she did something she'd regret. Natalie's smile was gone and she was just left fidgeting with the clutch in her hand only shuffling away when Sawyer told her to leave.

Sawyer said nothing to Grace. Instead she walked over to the wall and slid down it, gathering her knees up to her chest and leaning on them. All she could think about was those memories she'd tried so hard to suppress for so long. Flashes of Aiden's face, beer, the cliff, his parents faces. She ran a hand down her face and let out a quiet sigh. This was probably something Grace needed to know about no matter how much Sawyer wanted to pretend it never happened. It had happened and it had been terrible. This wasn't something she was going to forget. Ever.

"His name was Aiden." Sawyer spoke quietly, "The guy they....they thought I killed. He was a good friend of mine, we were fifteen and both drunk out of our minds." Her gaze was locked on the floor refusing to look at Grace, "We...um...we went to a cliff in town and got into a stupid argument. Started pushing eachother around." Sawyer shifted uncomfortably, finally forcing herself to look up at Grace with a teary eyes.

"I pushed him off. He died on impact. It was an accident, and that's what it was ruled as, but the town didn't believe that. So...here I am." Sawyer let out a choked chuckle. "So, there's that. I didn't tell Natalie. She's a fucking snoop, found newspaper articles or something. I haven't told anyone else."

It hadn't taken Jace long to find what he was looking for. Soon after he'd departed from the snack table he was able to locate a trash bin by the gymnasium's exit. His mind wandered a bit as he approached it, weighing his options as he disposed of the crumpled wrapper in his hand. Maybe it was a good idea to leave on the high note that Raven had left him with? He set the thought aside though. It could be a terrible waste if he wound up missing something fun just because he wanted to dodge seeing Ash and Ryder. No, it wasn't time to leave just yet. He'd stick around for just a bit longer, try to see if he could squeeze a little more fun out of homecoming. Besides, that heartache feeling from earlier was starting to fade. Surely he could go a little bit longer without-

Shortly after he'd made his decision to stay, he turned to head back towards the snack table, his long legs striding confidently through the crowd. He was going to keep his thoughts Ash free for the night, sipping away cheerily on the last contents of his juice box. Once he was at the table he planned to grab something to snack on, go find something to do, and enjoy his night before he got bored of it.

Then the very girl he was trying to forget about literally walked up to him and said "hey."

Jace's heart skipped a beat, momentarily forgetting how to do its very important job as he saw those gorgeous blue-green eyes looking up at him. As much as he hadn't wanted anything to do with her a few seconds ago, just seeing Ash smile brought a similarly friendly expression to his face, the boy's social reflexes kicking in to hide just how completely she'd interrupted his thoughts. "Oh, hey Ash!" Immediately he responded, accidentally using her name to greet her despite the fact that she'd just introduced herself. 'Damn it, Jace!

"Yeah, we've met a few times. I think..." Jace quickly transitioned to try to cover his mistake, keeping his voice confident as he offered a gloved hand for the shaking. Getting caught off guard was no reason to become shy all of a sudden. "Nice to meet you again though!"

Grace

Grace was almost postitive that Sawyer was going to quite literally punch Natalie, she couldn’t help but feel the most smallest amount of pity as Natalie walked away. She knew she messed up. Turning her attention back to Sawyer, nervously tapping her index finger with her thumb when she went quiet. Whatever actually happened Grace knew that Sawyer wasn’t capable of actual murder. Looking down at her when she decided to explain, she didn’t have to tell her if she didn’t want to. Grace hoped she knew that.

She listened and her heart ached for the heartbreak she knew Sawyer might’ve felt. It was probably a hard thing to relive, she felt guilty that she basically made her do it. When she saw the tears in her eyes, Grace’s heart broke in two. She walked over and sat down next to her, moving her arms and wrapping them around her, while she was holding her, “You didn’t have to tell me, but I’m glad you did.” She was, Grace was more-than glad Sawyer trusted her enough to tell her.

Silence passed the two for a few moments. She wanted make sure Sawyer didn’t keep this guilt on her. “Listen. Whatever happened on the cliff that day.. it’s exactly what it was, an accident.” The chance that her words won’t work, well.. they were huge. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t try. It was terrible to see her upset, it was the one thing she hated. “You aren’t a bad person.”

“Please tell me you know that.”

Elizabeth

Well, that was a statement and a half. He was adopted, then kept in the house, apparently, being "molded", and then after being released not finding yourself in this world. Eli couldn't really relate to this, but she felt pity towards Rory.
"The childhood of mine.. uhm... it was calm, I guess. I was born in Portland, but had to move to the Cranberry Island, just off the coast of Maine. It's not that far, actually. I just have to take a ferry. Also, I happen to have a dachshund puppy." The girl smiled softly at Rory, remembering Chicka, how she is still in her house. She fixed her dress a bit, as it was feeling a bit uncomfortable.
"I do have some chapters of my childhood that are... well, darker, but they don't even compare to your childhood, not by a long shot" The girl leaned back a bit, crossing her arms over her chest and giving a long sigh. That was a tough conversation, but at least she could be someone Rory could speak up to... even if he had just met her, like, 15 minutes ago.
"Say, uhm.. Maybe we should just get out of here and head on over to somewhere else? Maybe a cafeteria, or a pizzeria? What do you usually do when you're not feeling that good?"

Neck Tie

FEw161J.gif

Neck Tie was so engrossed in Space Invaders that he'd forgotten he was in the middle of a party. Level 22. He was now on the cusp of beating his own high score. He moved his sweaty thumbs to the ready, the first wave of the squiggly aliens beginning to cascade down the screen like snow. He dodged their laser beams, slid in and out of the crumbling defences, and returned fire. Poof! Poof! Poof! Now there were 10 left. He narrowed his eyes, staying fully concentrated. He was so close now to a famous victory. . . Then there were 6. Then 3. Then 2. Then 1!! . . . Neck Tie missed the last one by a hair's width, and the squiggly alien returned a mortal shot. Bewewewew. . . Game over.

The boy winced angrily at his phone and pushed his back against the wall, his shoulders slumped, and sighed.

Neck Tie was about to put his phone away, but no sooner did he close out of the game was he met with a picture of his twin brothers Josh and Nick on the home screen. They were on the football pitch, and Nick was holding a ball close to his chest, both smiling widely. He had taken the photo himself as he was teaching them a few kicks. Staring at the image, he felt a sudden lump in his throat. Neck Tie slowly sank down to the floor, pulling his knees toward him as he sat clutching his phone. Then he lifted a finger and gently held it to their faces on the screen, wishing he could hold his little brothers again. Neck Tie placed his phone flat against his chest (over his neck tie) and held it there, all the while the noise of the party swallowed him whole.

Ryder

There was no good way to say "Hey your dates an asshole" so Ryder decided to just rip off the band-aid. No matter how he phrased it she was goin to be upset, and it made him feel pretty awful hat he had to be the bearer of bad news. There was no way he was going to let her go on unknowing though, it wouldn’t be fair if she continued to fall for a guy who was only using her.

"Do you wanna know why I threw Mason into a table?" He started, letting out a sigh as he realized this might not have been as good of an idea as it had started out to be. June was going to be crushed, and Ryder had never handled crying girls well. Maybe he should’ve brought Ash for back up.

"He was being a dick to Ash, but what really got me was that he called you sloppy seconds. You deserve to know what kind of person Mason really is.” Ryder explained, feeling worse now that he’d said it out loud, but at least now she knew.

Alaska

Alaska had come to rather like Raven, she was an unabashed flirt and nothing ever seemed to bother her. The taller brunette was by far one of the most confident people she’d met, even after the whole school found out about her mother she seemed to keep it together.

“I may or may not be a little tipsy.” The brunette shrugged, giving Raven a sly smile as she sat beside her on the step. She’d drank faster than she probably needed to and she was feeling the effects. It was a good thing they’d be heading to the after party soon.

“Not having a date sucks.” She admitted, knowing that Raven had also come alone. While technically Drake was her date, it was different. You couldn’t slow dance with your best friend.

Sawyer
Sawyer leaned into Grace and closed her eyes as she talked to her. She knew it was an accident. She knew she wasn't a killer by any means, but that didn't mean she didn't remember the looks people had given her. Sawyer herself knew she wasn't a bad person but the way the town had looked at her had made her feel like one. The people of Dayton had come at her with pitchforks at the ready, right behind Aiden's parents who had never liked Sawyer in the first place. When the court hadn't done what they wanted they'd decided they'd do it themselves and drove Sawyer and her dad away no matter how many times she tried to tell people it was an accident.

"I know." She sighed into Grace's shoulder, "They didn't think so. So they just kept coming at me until my dad and I left town." Sawyer was glad Grace knew. She was glad Grace was here. There wasn't anyone she would rather have by her side at this moment or any other moment for that matter. Grace was a blessing and she was very thankful for that blessing.

"Thank you." She whispered, "For, uh, for being you." Sawyer took Grace's hand and twined their fingers together, "I love you." She turned her head slightly, glancing at the gym door.

"Do you wanna go back?"

Raven chuckled at the slightly drunk girl. Maybe a bit jealous she’d found alcohol in the first place. Sighing as she sat down next to her. “Mm. Don’t i know it.” Maybe if Shiloh had showed tonight not all of her attention would be on everyone else who had dates, although.. Raven still thought she didn’t need one. It might’ve been nice to share tonight with someone.

She thought about it for a second, before turning to her with a grin. “It’s okay, we can fix it.” Raven narrowed her eyes in mock thought, before saying. “I’m stealing you as my own date.” Shrugging, it wasn’t like Alaska was a terrible person to be around. She rather enjoyed her company at least the only few times they’ve talked. “I mean..we’re basically going steady.” Holding up her phone and waving it slightly. There was no doubt that their semi-flirting online had indicated anything less.

Raising an eyebrow. “Does that make tonight less.. sucky for you?” Raven was ready to repay Jace, even if he wasn’t the one she was repaying, why not attempt to cheer her up?

Grace

Grace pursed her lips, why were people so cruel? They basically ran her and her father out of town. “Well.. those people..” It took her a second to come up with an insult. “Are.. trashy.” Grace didn’t care about the words she used, nor did she think anything else was a better word for them.

Looking at Sawyer when she took her hand and she didn’t have to thank her. Grace would’ve been on her side no matter what. She might’ve been biased because of her feelings, but it was because of her feelings she knew who she was. Grace wouldn’t just leave her. “I’ll be me anytime with you.” Giving her a cheesy wide smile.

She didn’t give her an answer yet. Grace was too distracted in her own thoughts, unmoving her gaze from the girl in-front of her. There was so many ‘I love you’s’ and she wasn’t tired of hearing it. Grace didn’t think she’d ever get tired of it. It might’ve been at least a full minute until she spoke back. “I love you too.” Glancing to the door, they should probably go back. Grace stood up off the floor, helping Sawyer up.

“But.. yes. I suppose we should go back. We could make out in the hallway anytime.” Grace was semi-hoping she wouldn’t take her up on that offer, privately seemed to be a better idea. And ideally not being interrupted by any ex-girlfriends.

Walking her way to the doors with Sawyer, kissing her quickly before they actually went into the gymnasium.

"You know I don't smoke." She watched him pulling out the cigarette, "You know you really should quit those, they're going to kill you one day." She shook her head, adjusting her dress. "Never mind that's not why I pulled you out here." She took a minute before looking back up at Mason, she wasn't a nervous person. Most of the time she was extremely confident, in herself, in what she had to say, but this was something that effected everyone. "Its about your date..." She stopped for a moment. "Wait a minute, you think I need a wingman for the people around here? Are you crazy?!" She pinched her eyebrows together making a face. "One--" She remembered that she didn't need to defend herself and the real reason she as here. "Mason. I have to tell you something" She took a deep breathe. "Mason, June..." She looked outside over to where Raven was sitting. "Mason, don't do anything stupid."

Mason had no idea what she was going on about, but the longer Carter spoke, and when she glanced in Raven and Alaska's direction... He started to get a little suspicious. "Carter what the fuck are you talking about? What about June?" He had pulled the cigarette from his mouth and now held it tightly punched between his fingers. "What the fuck did she do?" His eyes went back to Raven and although he had suspicions... Mason didn't want to face it.

She frowned when she asked her if she wanted to know why Ryder threw him into the table. She did want to know, but she gave Mason he’s space and decided to leave it behind her. She assumed he said something wrong. She could’ve guessed it was something about Ash. However, she stood stunned when he told her that she was sloppy seconds. She paused for a long moment not sure what to do. She knew how she felt. It made her feel awful.

When she glanced over at Ryder, she didn’t know what to do. But the words came out fast, “why...why are you telling me?” She said angry. “Do you enjoy ruining people’s good days? What an asshole.” It felt like a bullet rushing from a gun right at Ryder. She moved past him, crossing her arms over her chest as her breathing grew unsteady. What was she to Mason? This was just the second time they kissed, did he just want to have sex with her? She always heard everyone talk about Mason being a douche. But was he worst? Suddenly, she didn’t mind kissing Raven. Hell, maybe she should’ve kissed her again in the Ferris Wheel if Mason knew what he was dating was just... sloppy seconds.

She had made a mistake looking over at Raven. "Don't do something stupid, you can't do your thing and blowup Mason." She took a step towards him crossing her arms. "I don't know what is going on but, when I was at the store." She wasn't really sure the degree of the relationship Raven and June had but with everything she heard she knew there was something. "Raven and June seem to be more than just friends... They were kissing the other day in the mall dressing room..." She looked down at her feet and back up at Mason and could already see him fuming.

He was quiet at first, and unsure of how to even react. The weird thing was that despite it all, Mason wasn't even upset. Of course June would do this, of course she would... was it even really cheating? Whatever it could be considered, of course it had happened. And again, Mason was reminded of what his golden rule was about dating -- of why it was never a good idea to try with someone. So he threw the cigarette at the school building, and refused to look at Carter.

"Why the fuck do I even care?" He grumbled. "Like, it's not a surprise she went for Raven. I mean, look at her -- Raven is amazing. And I'm just... me." Mason shook his head. As far as he was concerned, this was one hundred percent Adriane all over again. Every fucking time, this kind of thing happened. Every time.

Shaking his head he headed inside to find June. Right now, he had no idea what he was going to say but he did know that he wasn't even angry or surprised. Some part of him had expected this to happen, so why would he be? His shoulders were slouched as he walked back into the gym, looking around before his eyes fell on June and he made his way over to her.

She wasnt sure if his silence was a good thing... Or a really bad one, she didn't even have a moment to ask him if he was okay before he went back inside. He hadn't even finished his cigarette before, that probably wasn't good... She made her way inside after him, stopping when she got to the door watching him walk over to June. She made sure to keep her distance, just watching from afar. Had she even done the right thing.

The world was out to get her. All her mistakes come back with sharp fangs. All of them are clamping their jaws into her heart. Then, she saw Mason head towards her too. The world wanted something from her. But, she had no clue what. “Do you wanna know what I heard?” She said immediately as she got near him. “You should know. Since you came back to get your sloppy seconds.” She shook her head slightly and laughed. “What was I going to be? I thought you didn’t want any of that, but here we are, you ass.” She wanted to slap him, to shove him back, but she couldn’t even muster it. “What was I going to be to you? Someone to sleep with?” She hated that her eyes got blurry. She was on the brink of crying. Again. However, these tears were both out of rage and sadness.

For a moment, Mason's eyebrows furrowed in confusion before he remembered what she was talking about. "Ryder tell you that? He started it, talking about fucking you to prove a point." He shook his head at the memory of the whole encounter that ended with him in a table. What a day that had been -- it felt like forever ago.

"Of course I didn't want any of that from you. All I wanted was you." Mason's voice was hard, cold, emotionless. At this point, he just felt numb as he looked at June, shaking his head again as he thought about everything that had happened. "I don't spend hundreds of dollars on a fucking camera for a girl that I just want to sleep with and my shoes are duct taped together." Oh yeah. He totally still had that duct taped Converse from when he got in that fight with Stu.

"At least I don't agree to go on a date with someone, then go kiss my best friend." He said. Still, he wasn't angry, his voice was just... cold. Dead. There wasn't anything left to feel.

Alaska

It was honestly shocking that Raven didn't have a date, but Alaska knew better than anyone that good looks didn't necessarily guarantee you a date. Most people lusted after her looks until they actually got to know her and realized she was too much of a mess to date, she assumed that Raven seemed to have the problem. Maybe they could be a mess together.

"That does indeed make it less sucky." Alaska agreed, standing up from her seat and extending a hand to help Raven up. She was glad the brunette was willing to be her date for the rest of the night, maybe this would actually be a night to remember.

"It wouldn't be a date without a slow dance." Alaska grinned before turning to lead her new date into the crowded gymnasium. There was less people now than before as the dance dwindled to a close, she would probably have to go find her brother's after her dance with Raven so that they could go to the after party together.

"By the way, short hair looks hot on you." She complimented, awkwardly placing her hands on Raven's hips and starting a hesitant slow dance.

Okay, so he was very different from the majority of people that Ash typically associated with, but different in a good way. Less dramatic, less filled with punching -- or so he seemed. Ash had talked with him on a few occasions, but not enough to be sure about anything. Still, at the moment, he seemed like a sweetheart, and she couldn't help but laugh as she reached forward and shook his gloved hand. A strange fashion choice for the dance, but whatever. To each their own.

"Well pleasure to meet you again, officially, Jace." She said as she let go of his hand and turned to look around at the other people attending the dance. Hopefully soon, everything would start to die down and they would head to the after parties. Ash loved the dance and being able to dress up, but the after parties were the real fun.

"Are you going to any after parties?" Ash asked, trying to keep the conversation rolling since she had misplaced Ryder and Grace, and, well, didn't really have anyone else that she would talk to. Well, maybe Mads but again, she had no idea where he had gone, and then tension between her, Ryder, and Mads had been so uncomfortable that she wasn't entirely eager to replay that again.

“I don’t care about what Ryder said, I care about what you said.” She said upset about the way he said it. It sounded like he was already defeated. She bit her lip when he talked about the camera. “I never asked you to get me the camera.” She had been greedy. She thought about how he could’ve gotten it, it was expensive and she knew he was short on money.

Then he said it. The one thing she was dreading the most and now she understood why he felt defeated. She knew it. She knew it. She knew it. She knew it. This is what happens. “It... I...” She shook her head. “I don’t know! Ever since the Georgia, I feel myself being submerged under an endless sea of thoughts.” No, she shouldn’t be saying this. It’s weak. There’s no excuses. What is she even doing? “I don’t know what to do, I thought everything was so clear. I want to be with you too. But, you are making it hard when you say things like that! What am I suppose to think? What am I suppose to do when all I want is a little bit of love. Huh?” She hated this. She couldn’t run. She was stuck right in front of him and she wondered if she looked as terrible as she felt.
