"A little bit of love?" Mason echoed, and then it was like his feelings came out in a tidal wave, and he started laughing. "Right. When I also want love, I like to go around kissing anyone who will look at me and leading multiple people on." Alright, Mason may have been a dick, but he'd never cheated on a girlfriend. He had one night stands, but always made it clear that there were no feelings attached following it. That was it. "This is why I don't fucking date."

The laughter died away on his lips and he just stood there for a moment, staring at June. "This is why no one at this school fucking shares things. You came in here wanting to know everything about everyone, and I fucking told you everything. And what do you do? Post it on the god damn Internet, lead me on, and then kiss Raven." Saying it aloud, Mason couldn't believe that he'd let himself be fooled by June for this long. God, he really was an idiot.

"If you're still torn up about the Georgia shit, then get yourself a fucking therapist. 'Love' isn't going to heal your fucking thoughts." He couldn't believe that she was even dumb enough to think that. "But you know what, I'll make it really easy for you to even decide. I don't date cheaters. I don't fucking date people that turn around and kiss their best friend and then decide to not tell me. I mean, if you'd come clean, it would've been one thing. But instead I heard from Carter."

"So you know what, fuck it. Fuck you. Good bye, and I hope someone treats you just as shitty as you treat everyone around you." And with that, Mason turned and walked away.

His steps carried him back outside, where he slammed the door open with the force of an angry teenage boy. His fingers fumbled, grabbing for a cigarette and struggling to spark his lighter as he made his way from the school, not even bothering to look at anyone still milling around outside. But he couldn't do it -- his fingers were shaking, his hands were shaking, he felt like he couldn't even see clearly so finally, frustrated and defeated, Mason tossed the cigarettes and the lighter to the ground and kept walking. At some point, something inside him broke and he stopped, standing with his shoulders hunched forward, and trying to keep the tears back.

This, he realized, this right here. This was the kind of thing his mother was always saying. He would never be good enough, no one would ever love him. This was why he'd stopped dating after Adriane, this was why he had promised himself to never try again. It always ended in flames, and he always ended up being forgotten.

Raven stared at her hand before eventually taking it. She was totally okay with going back inside, even though she hadn't planned to go back in. She'd already committed to helping her feel better. So..why not actually enjoy homecoming?

Raising a brow, when she mentioned the slow dance. Raven had danced with Jace earlier, but that was hardly the same. "Oh it wouldn't be?" Raven led her onto the dance floor. Furrowing her brows when Alaska awkwardly placed her hands, Raven chuckled. Adjusting her hands better.

She blinked in surprise when she mentioned her hair, for the first time probably in her life she ignored the flirt with it. No-one else had said anything. "You noticed?" Eying her with curiosity. After a second she composed herself. "..I mean of course you noticed." Putting her arms around her with a genuine smile, stepping closer. "Thanks, little bird."

"You don't look so bad yourself."

Neck Tie

Neck Tie ran off to the restroom. He turned on the tap, splashed some water into his face, and then soaked it dry on the roller towel. He didn’t like whatever was happening to him. His stomach churned, but that was probably the carbonara.

Now he wanted to go home. He made do with just locking himself in the toilet. He sat on the lid, got out his phone and hesitated for a good few minutes. Scrolling through his contacts. Finally, he pressed the button and held the phone against his ear, his heart racing. It rang once, twice, thrice. It rang for a long time.

And then, finally, a click:

‘Hello?’

Neck Tie panicked. It was a male’s voice, low and raspy.

‘Who’s calling?’

His hand trembled as he held the phone to his ear. He couldn’t get a word to pass his lips.

‘Whoever you are, I can hear you breathing,’ the angry voice proclaimed, ‘Do you have any idea what time it is? It’s 3 bloody AM in the morning, that’s bloody when!’

. . .

There was some crackling and breaking up on the line. A female voice lurked in the background, now distinct, now indistinct.

‘Who is it, dear?’

‘It’s nobody, love. . . Go back to sleep.’

*Click*

Neck Tie sat listening a while longer, even if all that remains to be heard was a deep and painful silence.

June
June stood there and listened to everything. Now the words weren’t coming. Why did she feel like she was being punched? No, that’s too nice. She was being stabbed repeatedly as she struggled to stop herself from crying. She tried to speak, saying, “I didn’t mean” or “I’m sorry” sometimes very quietly. It wasn’t enough, in what world was it enough.

“Mason...” She said quietly at first as he started to walk away. “Mason!” She said louder, but she kept on watching him walk out. Her hands fell limply at her sides, her head lowered. She could only stare at her red dress. Mason’s favorite color. The dress she kissed Raven in. The dress that Carter saw the two of them kiss in.

She looked up and saw people looking at her. Stop it. Stop looking at me. Stop. Stop. Stop. Before she knew it, she was running. She was running somewhere, she didn’t know where. She pushed open doors and felt the wind take her breath away as she ran deeper into the school. She eventually stopped walking once she saw the fence surrounding the football field. She leaned against it and knitted her hands on it. But she couldn’t help herself. She fell onto her knees and started crying. She couldn’t stop herself from sobbing and another June would’ve felt better as she cried. No, she felt like there was hole. Something was there, but now as she cried uncontrollably it was sucked into that hole. And all there was left, was nothing.

Carter

Carter was shocked, there was no blowup from him. His only outburst was the slamming of the door that she had been standing at. She had no idea he felt that way about June. She just figured she was another girl, but damn was he broken. She followed him outside and saw him shaking, trying to light his cigarette. She followed him as he continued to walk, picking up his lighter and cigarettes. Lighting one and stepping up beside him, she quietly offered him the cigarette. "Lets get out of here" She whispered grabbing him by the side of his button up and dragging him over to her car. She knew he needed to get away from here, and that he could use a drink. "Bryan is throwing an after party, you need a drink." She was glad she hadn't drank too much and had a higher tolerance than most because Mason was in no space to drive.

She unlocked her car, sliding into it and turning down the music. She rolled down the windows so Mason could smoke, and drove to Bryan's in silence. Getting out of the car she looked up at the house, and waited for Mason. "Are you ready? Lets get you drunk" The walked in to a loud, beer smelling house, there was already a bunch of people here. They didn't all seem to be from school either, this was the right place to be right then.

Despite the fact drunk teens weren't really her scene Mads had begged to come, and she was his ride. As the best sister ever she came to be his designated ride home. Which meant, standing in a stinky beer house, with loud music and lots and lots of people. There was people tripping over her, attempting to flirt but just slurring their words above her. She just rolled her eyes and stood in the kitchen watching the festivities take place. "So who's that girl Mads, that you've been hanging around?" She asked lifting herself up and on to the kitchen counter. "She's just someone I met on our first day, nice girl" He wasn't looking at her, just over everyone around them. "She doesn't seem to be just a girl, you're still watching for her"

"It's nothing Rae. She's just a friend." He didn't feel any way about Ash, she just happened to be the first person he met. He wouldn't lie, she was definitely attractive, but he didn't want to get involved in whatever seemed to be going on with Ryder and Ash. But he was here for a new start, and had no plans of jumping into a relationship anytime soon again. Not without knowing that it was actually something he could count on. "I'm going to grab a beer" He walked away, leaving Rae alone in the kitchen surrounded by all the drunk teenagers. He knew where she was going with this, he knew that Karleen had been trying to reach out to him, and he had no plans of ever hearing that name again..

Ryder

giphy.gif

After June had practically run away from him and Ash had returned from her five minutes of saying hi to friends (which had turned out to be more like thirty), Ryder was more than ready to leave. His plan to surprise Ash and give her the best homecoming had been completed, and now he it was time for the real fun to begin. Chase gathered up the group of people he was driving to Bryan's house, and within minutes of arriving he'd lost everyone in the crowd except Ash.

"I want a rematch from the carnival. You ready to lose in beer pong?" He challenged Ash, taking her hand and leading her towards the empty table. Through the massive crowd he spotted Maddison, and as a show of good faith for Ash he decided he'd call him over.

"Hey! Maddison!" The jock called with a friendly wave to catch his attention. "Come kick Ash's butt with me." Despite the displeasure Ryder had first felt at meeting his not-girlfriend's secret basketball buddy, Mads wasn't a bad guy. He was far nicer than any of the other guys that hung around, Ryder would pick hanging out with him over Kanen or Mason any day.

"Pick your partner, though it doesn't matter who because you're going down anyways." He teased from across the table, cracking open a beer and offering on to his partner.''

Alaska

TCwq.gif

Although her slow dance with Raven had been nice, Alaska was more than happy to be at the after party finally. It was a well known fact that most people couldn't stand Bryan, but half the school always showed up to his parties. The house was huge and there was always a stock pile of alcohol out for grabs. Within minutes of arriving she'd grabbed a handle off the counter and brought it back to her friends with a wide grin on her face.

"I suggest we get monumentally fucked up so we can hate ourselves tomorrow." The brunette suggested with a raise of her very full bottle. While she was in a particularly good mood, she still felt the need to get drunk, though for once not to forget but to make memories. With her new found friends by her side she knew this would be a particularly good night. Homecoming was the one acceptable night of the year for high school kids to drink. Or at least that's what she told herself.

"You planned the best homecoming." She told Drake, planting a kiss on his cheek as she poured herself a cup before handing it over to Raven. There were so many people here it would be impossible to find anyone, which suited her perfectly fine. She knew her brothers were here somewhere and she wanted to avoid them both at all costs. Wherever Ryder went there seemed to be trouble, and she didn't want any of that tonight.

She was laughing as she moved, keeping Ryan close to her, leaning in close to kiss his lips before tipping back on her heels. “Trust me babe... stay with me and you can have all the kinda fun in the world.” The music was flowing through again as she rocked with the beats and grooves, the highs and lows, it was exhilarating. The set of music came to a close and she felt out of breathe, her heart was hammering in her chest, “Come on handsome, let’s get those drinks Pauline promised.. then sit back for a minute.” Her dark eyes sparkled with michevious intentions and a crazy smile curled her lips “Maybe more fun tonight then just grinding on the dance floor..” Hajar winked at him, giving his belt loops a tug before sauntering off the floor towards the bar, tossing him a look over her shoulder.

Scarlet

gif.gif

It was her first actual night in Westbrook. Despite missing the homecoming dance, the house next door was having a pretty decently sized party. Her mother was out for the night, being a nurse with long and grueling hours in order to support Scarlet and herself. It was admirable, how hard that woman worked. Scar was sure her mom wouldn't mind if she just said 'hello'. Hey, she'd probably be relieved that her daughter was trying to make new friends; that, or she would freak and worry about Scar relapsing to the 'old Scarlet'. What she doesn't know won't hurt her.

Scar slinked out of her home, in form-fitting Levi's and a white sweater. Although she grew up in the city, Scarlet preferred a more comfortable style. Her mom always teased her, saying that Scar was lucky she could still be cute while dressing like a boy: the young girl thought it was a harsh statement. Growing up with a previous pageant queen surely made her self-conscious and unsure of her body, though she was built lean like a runner and defined like a dancer. Of course, she never let it show - letting people in was hard for her, anyway.

Scar pushed the front door of the bustling home open, cautious. Already, she could see she was underdressed. It was to be expected, but Scarlet was still extremely embarrassed. Although she hadn't been the nicest when she was younger, she still abhorred attention. Her face grew hot and it was a difficult journey to get through the kitchen, hallway, and living room before she managed to emerge outside again. The small amount of time spent inside was still enough to make her feel hot and sweaty. "Glad I'm not claustrophobic," she muttered, pushing a piece of her hair from her face as her light hazel eyes glanced around the backyard. A boy was trying to rally a game of beer pong, waving at someone. Turning her head in that direction, she looked to a guy standing not too far off from her. If she was going to feel less awkward and start talking to people, she needed alcohol.

She was hesitant but was able to sum up her courage rather quickly and made her way to him. Giving him a small tap on his arm with an index finger to childishly get his attention, she offered a smile, revealing deep-set dimples in both sides of her cheeks. "Um, hi. Sorry. I just moved in next door." Scar twisted and jammed her thumb in the direction behind her, where a single story, modest home stood on the other side of a tall wooden fence. "Do you know where I can snag a beer?"

Before he could answer, she blinked in sudden revelation. She hadn't even told him her name. "Oh-I totally forgot to introduce myself." Scar gave a breathy laugh, bitterly amused with her lack of manners. "I'm Scarlet."

Shiloh had abandoned Homecoming after that disastrous double date but Bryan had specifically asked for him to come to the party, the two had bonded while shit talking the awful economics teacher and since then they had been best pals. He had gotten there a little earlier then most people, still in a shit mood from the date but being about people always made him feel a little better about himself. His task for helping this party was keeping the small fire out in the backyard going and contained, while also making sure no drunk teenagers tripped into the ring. So far, he had seen a bunch of people he knew but not Raven or Mason, he wouldn't mind seeing June though, that poor girl was innocent in all that chaos. As the stars crept across the sky, Shiloh sat out back with a six pack and the fire in front of his boots, every once in a while the party would shift and he would be surrounded and talking but mostly it was an enjoyable silence that let his mind clear.

One beer, two, red can, blue can. Phoenix was already pounding the alcohol back like an underage girl at a college frat party. It was his vice but it always took a lot to get him slurring and rocking, liquor was the trick but he was saying away from that stuff tonight to avoid the pain it would cause him later. He circled around Rae and Mads, "He's in love with the blondes Rae..." He clicked his tongue and smiled, "I need a smoke, come on out if you want one to." The fire haired boy slipped out into the backyard, nabbing a smoke off one of the people in the backyard before shuffling off to the darker corner. Alexander wasn't here thankfully, hopefully the dark haired devil wouldn't show up at all tonight but it as still early as can be and anything could happen tonight.

Sawyer

After the whole fiasco in the hallway Sawyer was more than glad to get the hell away from the school. The after party was bound to be a lot more fun then some supervised school dance. The only down side was that it was at Bryan's house, who was an asshole as far as Sawyer was concerned. Then again, Sawyer thought most of the football players were assholes you couldn't play a sport where you run around hitting people if you weren't a little mean. Sawyer glanced over at Grace has she drove in curiosity. She wondered why Grace wanted to go. After all she knew that Bryan had kind of been a jerk to her in the past. Sawyer frowned and slid down a little in her seat, turning her head to stare out the window instead of at Grace.

Maybe they shouldn't go to this at all. A lot of things could happen at a party, especially one in Westbrook and...Sawyer stopped her self. No, everyone was going. This was the better part of homecoming. Her father's voice in the back of her head had her smiling again. 'Don't do anything I wouldn't do'. That really hadn't been the best thing to say. If memory served her correctly Sawyer was pretty sure she remembered tales of what her father had done and a teenager. A homecoming after party was definitely at the bottom of the 'bad things' totem pole. And yet he wondered where she got it from? What was that saying? 'If your a bad kid your kids will be ten times worse'? Well maybe not necessarily in this situation but other times? Totally.

Sawyer returned her gaze to Grace as they pulled up to Bryan's house. She was a terrible influence on her girlfriend and she knew it. The other day she had literally roped her into defacing private property in the form of TPing. But as long as Grace was willing to be...influenced then Sawyer was all for it. Then again Grace might be a little bit of a good influence on Sawyer, so it all balanced put in the end. She wouldn't necessarily say she was good for Grace, but Grace was definitely good for her. To say she was thankful for this girl would be an understatement.

"Let the chaos begin, huh?" She grinned at Grace as she climbed out of the car, waiting for her girlfriend before she headed inside.

Ryan followed Hajar over to the bar. He ordered a jack and coke. The bartender had was quick to get him his drink. There was a lot of people that so they had to be quick to get them their drink. Ryan had taken a sip from it. The bite of the jack made it so good. Ryan had wrapped one arm around Hajar. "So what's this about us having a little bit more fun then grinding on the dance floor." He said before planting a kiss on her soft lips. "Cause I could go for some more time for us to be alone..." He said giving her another kiss. This girl had captured his heart and Ryan didn't mind it. He loved her and he knew it.

The boy with the white hair frowned, his shifting blue eyes flickered like a candle. He had missed the beginning part of school because he was in the hospital due to some small wounds. He was studying the whole time he was there, though. So he's caught up. Hell, he's practically learning senior year mathematics right now because of how bored he was at the hospital. He had missed homecoming, but he really didn't mind. After all, he didn't want to talk to other teenagers who are capable of harming him. And besides, he really didn't want to run into Becky and the others. They've tortured him since middle school, and he really didn't want to deal with it. Besides, he was sure they spread rumors about him being a prostitute, but whatever. It hurt him, but he doesn't know how to stop it.

He brushed his hair, and peered out his window at the party across the street. The guy hosting it was from his school, and he wasn't sure whether or not he should attend. He heard footsteps downstairs, trailing all the way up on the second floor and into a room. They bumped into the wall several times, before finally ended up slamming the door shut. Jude let out a sigh of relief, before putting on an oversized navy sweatshirt. Perhaps he could go to the party now before his father wakes up. Slowly but surely, he walked down the wooden steps. The creaking sound of the shifting boards echoed, piercing his earns, making him grimace.

He wanted to go over to the party, and just wanted a taste of high school. He missed the first half, so why shouldn't he just start today? Of course, he doesn't want to talk to anyone, just live in the moment. Taking a deep breath, he slowly walked over to the door, and turned the door knob, before pausing. Is it a good idea to leave this house? Is it a good idea to go over to that party? His pale cheeks flushed pink, before shaking his head. What would happen? It's not like his life didn't suck already. And so, he aggressively opened the door, before silently closing it shut and walked out onto the sidewalk.

His boots tapped along the sidewalk, and he paused, waiting for the cars to go by, before walking across the street. He finally reached the house, his blue eyes peered at the door, biting his lip. He was nervous. Really nervous. He just hoped no one noticed him inside the house. He slowly pushed the door open, a loud creak was heard, before walking inside, his head hanging. The smell of alcohol lingered in the house, causing Jude to gag. Is this what teenagers did? Get high? Get drunk? Ruin their liver? He frowned. The smell reminded him of his own house. He was used to the smell, but he wasn't expecting alcohol at this place.

His boots tapped against the floor as he walked over to the kitchen. He was really hungry. Maybe he could grab a bite to eat? He wasn't going to stay the whole time. Embarrassed as his stomach started to growl, he wasn't sure if he could take anything. He fiddled with his thumbs, deciding he could deal with it and just stay for half an hour before heading back home and eating something. Maybe after that, he could just go over to the library and read something. Maybe some fairytales? He sighed, and poked his stomach, before pulling on his sleeves to cover his hands.

He then quietly shuffled over to the outdoors, taking a deep breath and looking up at the sky. His blue eyes twinkled with delight. The sky was very beautiful... The stars brightly twinkled, and the contrast between the gleaming stars and purple-ish, black sky was very alluring. Simply compelled by the sky, he accidentally bumped into someone, causing their drink to be spilled on their shirt. "S-Sorry..." he whispered, as the student shouted at him. "Son of a bitch--!"

He sped away from there. He found a nice clearing without anyone, and he awkwardly stood there, his hand rubbing his elbow, timidly. He really didn't know what to do here. To pass by time, he quietly peered at the stars, whispering to himself, "Scorpio... is that Orion? One.. two.. three..."

"Ryan, if we get together alone then we're gonna miss the whole party and that'd be rude." Her eyes shimmered in the flashing lights, as much as she wanted to sneak off and fool around with her handsome partner, this party was a fold thing for her. It was fun, time to cut loose and show her provocative side but it was also a chance for her to network. "We've got to do a little business to baby." Hajar mumbled and kissed his lips with a sigh, "There's some guys I gotta talk to.. more jobs and stuff like that." She sighed softly, "Ryan.." Her head tipped to the side, looking over at him, "Where do you wanna go with life?" It was a strange question posed in the dark and loud environment of a club, but it was on her mind.

"Stop being fucking assholes over there." His voice was deep and richly southern, it made swearing and cursing at people a delight sometimes especially in the silence of the backyard. Shiloh was watching this new white haired kid wander into the yard then get cursed for the mild party infraction of bumping into someone. "Jesus Christ..." He was stretched out in one of those wicker lounge chairs with his feet up and the almost empty six pack by the legs. "Hey..you.." He blue eyes were aflame in the light of the fire, "You want this beer? I'll feel like an alcoholic if I drink this whole six pack by myself."

It’s embarrassing to have people see you at your lowest. No one should see you in such a state if you want to keep your pride. However, June found she lost that too. The car ride over to the party was met with silence on her part. She felt pretty numb, unlike the first time she went to a party she wasn’t even nervous. Sadness seemed to suck away every other emotion and for once she enjoyed it.

June walked out of the car quickly, leaving behind Grace and Sawyer without a word. She walked inside and her eyes raised up to the drinks on the counter. She didn’t care. Her hand reached out and immediately the red plastic was up against her lips. She didn’t know what she drank, but it burned. She didn’t care. She didn’t like it at all, but she took another drink. Then she looked around. It didn’t take long for her eyes to fall onto someone she knew. She looked down at her drink, almost leaving it until she decided to bring it over.

“Hey.” She said as she approached him. He was against a wall in the less populated side. Playing a game. She didn’t understand why he would come if he was only going to be doing that. “Stu? Right? Hey, I know it’s been a while since Ash’s party happened, but... I’m really sorry.” Was she? She didn’t know. She didn’t know what she was doing here. “I’m sorry I didn’t see you at all too. You’re... doing better right?” She asked awkwardly.

Ryan pouted just a litte when she said that they had some business to tend to so they couldn't be alone. He was taking another sip from his jack and coke when she asked a very serious question. Ryan had set his drink down on the bar. "Where do I want to be in the future... Hmmm. Honestly I don't know... I could be here, or I could be somewhere else." He picked up his glass and took a sip. The bite felt good. "But I do know one thing. Where ever I am, I want you to be there too. Standing hand in hand as we become master theives." He said with a smile. He planted a kiss on her lips and held her tight."What about you?"

She was not good at beer pong, but she also wasn't good at basketball and had still managed to destroy Ryder. So hey, maybe Ash would actually have a chance at this, so she smirked and followed after him through the crowd, apologizing to anyone that she bumped into. "Get ready to lose twice in one day, Minuteman." Okay, so maybe the added nickname was a step too far, but Ash was intending on winning and destroying Ryder in this, too.

Or maybe she'd let him win. Maybe. When he called over Mads, Ash looked at him as if she was offended. "Wow, stealing my basketball coach. Wow." She teased, then noticed the girl who had approached Mads. Ash had no idea who she was, but Ash knew exactly what she was going to be. A champion of beer pong. "Hey! Girl next to Mads! Get over here and help me destroy them in beer pong!" She yelled over at them, then turned to Ryder smugly.

"Get ready to lose because my partner is amazing. And you're going to be like... very drunk after beer pong." Okay, so Ash wasn't just bad at beer pong, she'd actually never played and wasn't sure how the game went. But you did have to drink the cups of alcohol or something, right? Right? Oh well, she'd find out.

He hadn't been able to wait to head to the after party, and Mason was thankful that Carter was taking him there. So he sunk down in the passenger seat of her car, smoking his cigarette and staring straight ahead without saying anything. Well, at least the cigarette managed to calm him down somewhat. Kind of.

Once they were at Bryan's, Mason wasted no time getting out of the car and tossing his cigarette to the ground, where he ground it in with the tip of his shoe and nodded his head. "Yeah, let's go do this. I want to get so drunk that I don't remember today." Mason wasn't much of a drinker, but tonight, well, he would make an exception.

He led the way into Bryan's and headed over to where the alcohol was, grabbing a can of beer and popping it open before he realized that this wasn't even going to start to be enough.

Well Homecoming had been a hit, and now here Drake was at the after party. He wasn't sure why he had come... okay, so that was a lie. He had come solely for Alaska, and maybe to look at the hot guys. Either way, he hadn't been totally planning on coming to the after party at first. Drake wanted to get better, and he knew that alcohol would just take him back down a bad path into one of those depressive episodes. Still, here he now was, and maybe he could avoid the alcohol.

Or... maybe not, as Alaska dragged him and Raven over to the drinks. Okay, so maybe he could just drink a little bit and be fine. So he grinned, taking a bottle of something and pouring it into a cup. Perfect. That would be all he'd have tonight. Drake took a sip from the cup before Alaska kissed him on the cheek, and his cheeks turned bright red.

"Thanks. I tried." He said with a little grin at Alaska, and then looked at Raven. "So uh, did you enjoy Homecoming? 10/10 on the cupcakes and juice boxes, am I right?"

Homecoming was nice, really nice. Great even. It actually became ‘A Night to Remember’ maybe they should’ve just ended tonight on a good note? Grace tapped the steering wheel as she drove, she couldn’t help to do it now. It’d become a habit of hers. Truth be told, Grace wasn’t sure why she was going but everyone was, ignoring the fact that it’s Bryan’s party. Everyone knew Bryan as sort of a mean person, okay. Scratch the sort of, he’s definitely a mean person. She wondered why though, what was the point in bothering people for the fun of it? What did he get out of it? Oddly.. he fe

Grace wouldn’t be stupid this time and drink. Obviously she was the driver, but besides that It’d been a while since the last time she actually had one, ever since Ash’s party.. Grace wasn’t interested in alcohol and particularly another blackout night.

She couldn’t help but notice that June was a little.. not herself? Maybe it was because Mason just up and left? No, it was probably that. Grace tried to ask what happened but.. she didn’t get an answer so she thought it was best not push it. Grace bit her lip as she watched her move past her and Sawyer without a word.

She smiled at Sawyer’s words. “Hopefully minimum chaos?” Taking ahold of her hand before walking into the house, maybe no-one liked Bryan. But wow.. so many people liked his parties. Her eyes scanned around for Ash, but didn’t see her anywhere. It was okay, she can gush about tonight with her later. “I don’t even think most of these people go to our school..”

Her gaze caught Bryan’s and of course he was making his way over here, with a crooked smile and an almost teasing glint in his eye. “Grace Jackson.” He greeted. Grace furrowed her brows but decided to say hello in an attempt of being friendly, she gave a small wave with her free hand. She hoped there was no grudges between the two. Grace always let him down gently whenever he tried to ask her out.. it wasn’t because he was like an asshole or anything.. It just obviously wouldn’t of worked out. “How’s your night goin?” Bryan asked, oddly avoiding Sawyer. His gaze dropped to their hands which were still clasped together, and back to Grace’s eyes awaiting an answer.

“It’s going great, uh.. if you’ll excuse us.” Grace moved past Bryan with Sawyer in tow, he kind of made Grace uncomfortable, she wasn’t interested in keeping conversation with him at the moment. Finding a semi-secluded spot in the kitchen, hesitating for a second before shockingingly finding a bottle a of water, and handing a beer to Sawyer. “Sorry, again.” Grace looked around the party for emphasis. “This isn’t your kinda thing.” It always seemed like they were doing something Grace felt like she had to apologize for.

Neck Tie stood no chance of beating his old high score. He was too frustrated for that, and was just playing the game for the sake of it. Drake had dragged him along to the after party. Had he known it would be a place filled with drinks and all that, he wouldn’t have agreed to come along. He wasn’t getting drunk again, that was for sure.

Bewewew. Game over. He rubbed his nose a little, and watched the 30 second ad that the game imposed on him. It was at that moment that he heard his name being called. Neck Tie glanced up suddenly, looking a bit like a stunned rabbit. Who thought anyone would want to talk to him? Let alone a girl? But there she was standing next to him. He didn’t even know her, but she knew him.

Neck Tie straightened his back. Ash’s party? Oh no. She knew, everyone knew. ‘Yeah. . . that was me,’ he admitted nervously, scratching his chin, adjusting his neck tie. ‘That was ages ago, though. . . I was kind of stupid.’

Now he met her eyes reluctantly. He didn’t remember the girl from that fateful night, and thought she was saying sorry just to be polite.

‘Um. . . anyway, thanks, I’m cool now. What's your name?’ he said, slipping his phone into his pocket but he missed the opening and it fell to the floor. Shit. He stooped down to pick it up, and when he shot back up he accidentally knocked the girl’s elbow and nearly spilt her drink. ‘I’m sorry!’ Neck Tie panicked. He snatched her hand to steady the cup. Oh no. Now he was holding a girl’s hand. He would quickly let go, throwing himself a step backwards till his back connected with the wall. But the damage had already been done.

June
June smiled weakly, as he said it was ages ago. No, it felt fresh. It felt like it was yesterday that everything grew and fell. The June then wasn’t even close to the June now. She took another swig over her drink before answering him. “Oh. I’m June Abrams. Nice to actually, formally, meet you.” She said and then paused as he dropped his phone. She was going to help him pick it up when he did it himself then they stumbled into holding hands for a brief moment.

She, once again, gave a forced smile. “It’s okay, calm down.” She said seeing he was nervous. “I won’t bite or anything. So, I’ve always been curious. What’s with the neck-tie thing? I knew the name Neck-Tie before I knew Stu. What’s up with that?” She asked, leaning back against the wall and finding the cup back at her lips.

Her smile was warm, warm against him and his lips, "I want that to..." She sighed softy, a vacant look came into her eyes but then was whisked away as soon as it was there. There was a knot in her stomach, it had been a year but she Sokolov was still hunting them and it had been months since her brothers had been heard from, was it even safe to begin setting up some new business here in this tiny town? Hajar didn't have the answers, she used to always have them on the tip of her tongue and would happily say them with a smirk but this past year had changed her, these past few weeks with Ryan by her side had changed her as well. This was to deep for her at the moment, she had to pull out of her head but at that moment fate took her out of it. Her eyes got narrow as she gazed across the dance floor, locking eyes with a stranger who was glaring at her. "Ryan... Do you think those guys were pissed we busted up there truck?" She recognized the guy staring back at her, it was one of the Outlaws who had been in that room during their business deal and this guy had eyes that could kill right now.

Raven more-than enjoyed her dance with the blue-eyed girl. Maybe tonight wasn’t that bad, she’d actually talked to a few people that.. she didn’t yell at or hate. And.. it was a nice change of pace. She was going to go home after the dance, the afterparty seemed to be.. eh. Raven wasn’t interested in going, however Alaska had invited her and even offered a ride. Who can say no to a car ride with the Vaughns?

Gladly taking the bottle from her and started pouring herself a very good amount, being careful enough to not down it all in in one go, She needed this. Like Alaska said, get monumentally fucked up right? Raven was ready to follow in her footsteps.

Rolling her eyes at Drake, he was so innocent, it was adorable. “Yes, yes. I.. enjoyed homecoming.” Grinning at Alaska for a split second, at least Raven tried to enjoy homecoming, and it.. wasn’t that bad as it originally was. Turning back to Drake, she chuckled, thinking about the cupcakes and juice boxes he thought were an oh-so good idea. “10/10 would let you plan again, maybe even take me next time.” Throwing him a wink.

Raven pulled out her phone with a grin, noticing the blush on his cheeks. She motioned for Alaska to kiss him again, setting the camera up and placing her lips to the side of his cheek before snapping a picture. “You two.. are very photogenic.” She smiled towards the two. “Finally i get to have some competition.”

Neck Tie rubbed the phone on his trousers. When he turned it round he saw the screen had cracked from the fall. He wanted to freak out, but he couldn’t do it in front of the girl! So he hid the phone from her, safely into the pocket this time. He’d worry about it later.

June. Where had he heard that name before? Suddenly it clicked for him. ‘Are you Mason’s girlfriend? You are, aren’t you?!’ Neck Tie’s face lit up excitedly. ‘I’m his friend, I am! Well. . . not really. I mean. . . we’re not really friends. Like, I know him, that’s all.’ Mason would probably sock him one if he heard him referring to him as a ‘friend’, so he was careful to make the correction.

‘Cor, it’s so nice to meet you as well,’ he said, 'I s'pose I'd shake your hand but I already did that, didn't I?!' He wondered if Mason managed to get her the gifts from the money they (didn’t) make from selling those pies.

Neck Tie chuckled when she asked about the neck tie. ‘It’s on account of me showing up at school looking like this.’ He pulled up his neck tie for her to see. ‘Then I had that fight with Mason on the football pitch, that was me. That’s when everyone started calling me Neck Tie,’ he explained. It was kind of like a badge of honour now, so he didn't really mind being called it much anymore.

Sawyer almost had a fit when Bryan approached the two of them the second they entered the premises. She thought it was the funniest thing in the whole damn world. He obviously knew that Grace wasn't into guys at this point, everyone did, yet here he was still being a little weirdo. Bryan didn't particularly make Sawyer mad, she knew Grace could very well handle herself, but he did make her want to laugh. She grinned at the fact he was practically ignoring her as he talked, or tried to talk, to Grace. Sawyer actually did laugh when Grace ended to exchange quickly and pulled Sawyer off past him. With a wave that screamed 'I win' and a wink, Sawyer let her girlfriend pull her into the kitchen.

The beer Grace handed her was taken with a hum thanks and popped the thing open. She was midway through a drink when Grace started talking. Sawyer cocked her head at Grace as she apologized for taking her. The beer was sat down on the counter behind her and replaced with one of Grace's hands. Thos whole apologizing for everything thing was going to end right here and right now.

"Babe, listen, I don't know how many times I've told you I want to be with you. No matter where with you is." She made a gesture to the party around them, "Besides, anything that involves alcohol is a-okay with me." She grinned and released Grace's hand to reach back and grab her drink again.

"We might as well have fun while we're here." Sawyer looked around to see if she could spot any familiar faces, "Let's go find our friends, huh?" That was the first time she'd referred to them as 'our friends' and not just Grace's. Sawyer chose to try and ignore her own words and shook it off in favor of waiting for Grace's answer.

June
June didn’t notice his cracked screen. She was mostly looking into her cup trying to decipher her drink. Then, she looked up as he excitedly pronounced that she was Mason’s girlfriend. She paused and tried her best not to think about it. If she did, she might burst out in tears again. She felt numb and gently swirled the cup around in her hand as he talked. Mason’s friend. Yup. Mason. Mason. Mason. She couldn’t hide from him, even in someone like Stu his name falls out from his mouth. She hated this.

“Oh right... I kinda remember that.” She looked up at him, looking pretty dead. “Hm. I’m gonna go though. Nice talking to you Stu, maybe we can talk again later.” She didn’t try to smile, she only gave him a gentle wave before walking off into the crowd. She felt bad. It wasn’t his fault and he couldn’t have possibly known. She should’nt have walked off like that, but she didn’t want to think.

She only wanted to drink.
