She frowned a bit when she brought up independence. Well at least she would accept an offer if she needed it. “Right. Independence. Everyone here seems to grow up so fast. I mean, I guess it’s good to be independent. But there’s a whole life time of independence around the corner. I guess I don’t understand everyone’s circumstances though.” She sighed and stood up. “Do you mind if we go to the fire? It’s pretty cold out here.” She said softly and wrapped her arms around herself. Probably wasn’t a good idea to swim then proceed to sit on the cold sand.

Jace fumbled with the buttons on his shirt as he waited by Nova's truck for her to get all cleaned up and less wet. "Wow. Who knew that same random dude tossing you in the water would teach me so much about you?" He joked, flashing her a grin as he started to get more relaxed. After all, this was just Nova. Beautiful girl who was into him, but she was totally relatable and so nice. Even if Jace messed up tonight, she'd forgive him, right?

He remembered the only other girl he'd had feelings for. Jace had failed to ever make a move, and she'd eventually given up and dated some jock. Jace had always assumed she didn't like him, and didn't find out the truth until it was too late. Not only had he lost a crush, but he'd lost his best friend then. And his goal was to make sure that didn't happen with Nova. He would try this time and stuff the anxiety far, far down. "Do you want to go sit by the fire?" He asked, and passed her his ice cream shirt. "Fun fact about me: I am constantly smoking." Wait, where did that come from?

Wendy sat up as she heard someone asking to sit near her. Lifting up her sunglasses, she gasped, silently, as she saw that guy she encountered a few days ago. Sniffling quietly, she nodded, scooting to the side. She zipped up her handbag after grabbing a fresh pack of tissues, opening them and unfolding a fresh one. Hiding her nose with the tissue, she laid back down. "Any particular reason you want to sit next to me, of all people"?

Ryan and Ash had only just got there and yet Ash was already take away. "Damn she's taken already. It's kinda crazy how popular she is." He thought. After that he kinda just muled around.He didn't realy do that much at the beach. For the most part he would just jump into the ocean, and swim around. He would sometimes just set himself on the beach and relax and sunbathe. Ryan was actually in the water. Kinda just chiling when Ash had came up to him. She had explained to him about what Ryder had done. Ryan chuckled lightly. Now you wanna call Ryan a player, but Ryder not. Oh, hell no. Ryan didn't like Ryder. He didn't mind saying it. "If Ryder's your friend, then I'll be civil. But I'm just letting you know. I'm not his biggest fan." He said trying to be polite.

THat's when he noticed that she was soaked head to toe. "I mean it looks like someone couldn't wait to jump in the water." He said of then thinking of an amazing idea. "I'll be right back." He said full on sprinting into the water. After he rushed back over. He was full on drenched. "Now you're not the only one soaked." He said smiling at her. There was a group forming around the pyre. "Looks like the bonfire is starting..." He said before bowing. "Would you care to join me in sitting around a fire, getting warm, and maybe even cooking up a couple of smores?" He asked looking up at her.

A bonfire was being thrown at the beach today but she wasn't sure if she was even going. For some reason she had been lacking her usually enthusiasm and rarely left the house except to go to school. The bed would have been the only thing she would have been in today but her father insisted to leave. With her being locked out the house she had no choice but to go to the party and reluctantly drove the beach in search for the bonfire. She spotted multiple people she knew from school and walked down to where they were sitting. Although she wasn't in the best mood she put on her best smile so people wouldn't ask her if she was okay. She wasn't but she also didn't know what was wrong with her either.

Grace watched as Sawyer took off her beanie and other clothes. “What are you-“ Sawyer came up to her wrapping her arms around her waist. And she realized. “Sawyer, n-“ was all she got out when she got thrown in the water. After a few seconds she came up, laughing. She splashed her a few times. “I didn’t even take off my clothes. That’s so unfair!” She told her as she got out of the water.

Discarding her now, soaked shirt and pants. Which left her now in her bikini. “C’mon, let’s go hang out with everyone else.” Shaking her head, chuckling, She began to walk towards the bonfire.

She turned her head to look at her, and noticed the frown as she spoke. “It’s America, June. The whole motto is about independence or whatever.” She told her.

“This country sucks.” She said shrugging, Raven looked up at her, when June suddenly stood up. Asking if they could go to the bonfire, because it was cold. She would’ve made a comment about warming her up. But she wasn’t quite ready for the red-head to run off on her again. “Yeah, sure.” She stood up herself. Smiling at her, and grabbing her clothes she previously threw to the side. They begun making their way to the bonfire.

Raven took a seat next on a nearby log. Just staring into the fire. She sighed heavily, she didn’t want to go home soon. She wasn’t interested in the conversation her mother kept trying to force on them.

Angelina readjusted her glasses and fixed her hair as the bus doors opened. She wasn't too far from the beach. Getting off the bus, behind a few other folks, she took deep breaths. She was, actually, thinking good things about this date, for once in her life. Her wedges clicking against the ground, she made her way to where everyone was. Hopefully Rory was here already, since she wasn't too late.

"Ah yes," Nova quirked an eyebrow, taking the shirt from Jace and slipping it on. Even though Jace wasn't a large guy, the button-down still fell loose and long around her figure, the fabric stopping around her hips. She fiddled with it just a little, mostly to warm herself up before looking back at the blonde before her. "Some random guy throwing me into the sea allows you to know that I am always cold. Which will explain why you may be missing hoodies in the future," The brunette winked before shaking out her hair once more, it's almost-dry state holding her waves beautifully, which surprised the hell out of her. She couldn't help but melt a little at Jace's grin, although it was quickly replaced by surprise at his next comment.

"Smoking, huh?" Nova smiled, her eyebrow quirking up as she slammed the door to the truck and leaned up against her car, arms folding across her chest. "Any other fun facts I should know about you, West?" The blonde boy was just so cute, and these moments where he was relaxed and flirty were Nova's favorites. It helped that with the sun going down, these amazing rays of golden light illuminating Jace's blue eyes, making them almost mesmerzing. And while yes, Nova was freezing and wanted to go sit by the fire, she also just wanted to stand here in Jace's moment of confidence and indulge in it while it lasted.

Sawyer scrambled up out of the sand as Grace started walking toward everyone else, now void of her over clothes. Okay, maybe that hadn't been such a good idea. The last thing she wanted was Grace getting sick.


"Wait, wait, Grace." Sawyer ran back to scoop her clothes up off the sand and rushed to catch back up with Grace, "I'm sorry I just couldn't resist. You can have my clothes once you dry off." She offered, with a sheepish grin.


"As much as I would prefer you to stay.....like that," She eyes Grace with a wink, "I don't want you to get sick."

Well, he'd never let girls wear his shirts in the past, but seeing Nova in his little ice cream shirt kind of made his heart pound faster, and dang, did she look good. Of course, now his upper body was free to the world, and he wanted to almost cover up but was unable to, obviously. He didn't want the world seeing his nipples, man. "Be my guest. If you look as cute in my hoodies as you do that shirt, I'm not going to stop you." He was channeling his inner Riverdale at this point.

"Well, not too smoking. More of a small smolder." Jace finally decided. He, a little nervously, reached out and took Nova's hand, and started walking her towards the fire. "C'mon, we don't want you turning into an ice cube." He joked, and started across the sand towards the bonfire. "Uh... I think you know everything there is to know about me. Beanie, guitars, music. That's about it."

Ash was quiet for a moment, and then shook her head at what he said about Ryder. "Hey, whatever. I didn't really trust you when I first met you, and now look. I'm on a date with you. People aren't always what they seemed." And yes, she knew that Ryder had a reputation for being a player, but that had mainly sprouted from one single bad encounter with crazy Lexi. So she brushed it off as Ryan just relying too much on rumors and other's opinions.

She laughed when he jumped in the water, now soaked. "I'd be honored to sit with you by the fire. I'm freezing." Ash admitted, and took Ryan's hand, smiling at him for a moment before tugging him towards the fire where others had already gathered... including her brother and Nova. And even better, Grace and Sawyer.

He shrugged as he flopped down into the sand next to her, tossing his crutches down beside him. "Don't have anyone else to talk to you, and you looked lonely, so I figured I'd grace you with my company." Mason smirked at her as he said it. "So tell me, why come to this kind of thing if all you do is sit on the sidelines?" He asked. Parties were for, well, partying, and he had no clue why some people just showed up to be literal wallflowers and do nothing. Why not just sit home and do that?

She sighed. She didn’t hate America or Maine for that matter. Just because it was the country’s motto to be independent, didn’t mean they had to. She waited for Raven as they both made their way to the bonfire. She saw several faces she recognized, but she wasn’t in the mood to even try talking to them. She was just cold.

She sat next to Raven on the log and held her hands out towards the fire. “This is a little better.” She said before dropping her hands eventually. “You know what, I shouldn’t let Mason get me down. I want to have fun for once.” She said getting a bit of her stride back. Maybe it was the fact that everyone around her at the bonfire seemed happy. She wanted to be happy too.

Wendy shrugged simply, sniffling again. She tried her best to do anything but that, but it wasn't working. Sitting back up, blowing her nose, she shook her head. Dumping her used tissue beside her handbag, Wendy set her sunglasses on her legs. "I would rather be here with background noise, instead of being at home surrounded by ominous silence. Better than waiting in the hospital all the time for something that won't happen". Wendy, then, realised she'd said too much. Laying back down, she put her sunglasses back on.

When Ash spoke about being cold, Ryan nodded.If he had his jacket with him he would probably rest it over her shoulders to try and get her warmed up. He looked at the amount of people there were interesting. He smiled as he saw Sawyer and Grace. The best friends were getting together. He walked up to Sawyer with Ash's hand in his hand. "Hey Sawyer." He said waving at her with his free hand. After he took a seat right next to them. They were rather close to the fire so they woud warm up rather quick. "Burr. It's cold." It was very easy to tell that Ryan was cold. His hair was standing on end, and his nipples were even standing. Ryan wasn't actually cold, but he was making himself cold.

He looked to Ash."You gotta be so uncomfortable in those clothes." He said. Being in soaking wet clothes, the chaifing was going to be horrible. "You're a lot braver then I." He said trying to get Ash to strip down to her bikini. Sure she was beautiful in what she was wearing, but he wanted to see the bikini that she had on. He did notice that Sawyer and Grace were in their bikini's. He would be checking both of them out normally. But this time, he was only looking at Ash. It would be rude seeing as how he's on a date with Ash, but looking at his best friend and the one that she liked.

Grace smiled towards Sawyer. “It’s okay.” She chuckled. Grabbing Sawyer’s beanie from her bundle of clothes, and placing it on top of her head where it belonged. “My clothes will dry soon enough.” She made a show of eying her back. “I’m not complaining either.” She shook her head, when they neared the bonfire.

She whispered to her. “Plus, i think letting me wear your clothes will definitely out us.” She thought about it for a moment. “Not that i wouldn’t want..” she sighed, “Nevermind.” She shouldn’t of said that. Grace was making it sound like she was ashamed of her, it wasn’t like that. But now she was panicking.

“Hey, look Ryan & Ash are here.” She tilited her head towards both of their best friends.

This was wonderful. Nova could hardly contain herself, her eyes bright and her cheeks flooding into a rosy pink as she was called cute. Her last boyfriend hated when Nova wore his clothes, and it soothed a little piece of her heart that shining guitarist wouldn't mind her stealing some shirts and hoodies here and there... which she most certainly would be. She was just as certain of that as she was of the butterflies that erupted in her stomach when Jace shyly took her hand, her fingers lacing into his. Taking the leap, Nova tightened her grasp on his hand and looped her other hand around to his hold his arm as they walked, shivering a little. "You are warm," She nearly groaned, cuddling closer to Jace as they strolled, her feet slightly kicking sand. He was like a little space heater, one that Nova completely welcomed.

Taking their seats by the fire, Nova plopped close to Jace, tugging on his hand a little as she rubbed her thumb over his knuckles. She instantly spotted Ash, gave her a small wave and a smile, hoping that her blonde boy's counterpart liked her. "Hey," Nova's voice was low as she stretched her feet closer to the fire, the backs of her legs fitting into the sand. "Your sister seems really nice. I'm glad I got to meet her," And she was. Meeting family was a fun thing for the brunette, since they usually liked her. Why wouldn't they? She got good grades, wasn't a trouble maker (not publicly at least) and was always ridiculously polite. She hoped the same would go for Jace's family one day... maybe. That was months ahead of her though, right?

"And as for you," The words came out in almost a purr, her head resting on Jace's shoulder as she stared into the fire's raging flames and listened to the people's mumbles around her. "I'm keeping you as my personal space heater."

Alester McGregorIt had been quite a strange week for Alester. Normally he would always be around the center of attention, where the popular people of the school were. However this week he had decided to lay low a little. Alester was still confused about what happened at the party last week. He had dared Drake to kiss him, Drake didn't knew what to say and left Alester alone, also confused. After that he had gone around the party a little, drinking more of his favorite drink and then heard of all the juicy stuff. The next morning he had posted some of it on Twitter, as a joke because many people would have forgotten what they did. The joke didn't land, people were mad at him for saying all these things.

This all lead to Alester having a pretty boring week. He just went to class and football practice but didn't really speak to many people that much. Of course he spoke with Mason, but he tried to avoid the little brother Drake. His escape from social activities was his work. Each evening he worked at the bar of his uncles, making drinks for the customers. Saturday was his day off, and he decided that he would go to the bonfire trown by Ryder. He didn't really knew the guy but he had heard Mason talk about it. His little sisters and elder brothers were also going, so he would be fine with them if he didn't wanted to talk to anyone else.

Down at the bonfire he noticed Drake right away, standing with another guy he recognized from the hockey team. He didn't really knew the guy his name but it made Alester feel a little bit jealous. He quickly took a sip of his drink he had brought from home and looked around. He noticed Mason sitting next to a girl and decided that Mason was probably on a girl hunt, so he left him also alone. Alester walked over to the bonfire and sat down next to two girls, he smiled at them and then started to stare into the flames

June nodded as she got up. “Maybe I can take pictures of everyone too.” She mentioned although she really only wanted pictures of Raven. She got up and stepped back for a moment. “You can do whatever you want. I’ll be in charge of making it look good, although it won’t be too hard.” She hadn’t even noticed what she said. Once she got into a mood of taking pictures he thoughts became pretty narrow to the screen, lighting, and angle. That might be why she loved it so much. She waited to Raven to get in position before she moved and took pictures. “You could ask if others want some pictures too.” She said a little more shyly, not really having the guts to go up and ask people herself.

He'd gone from no girls liking him to now having a pretty girl all cuddled up against his arm. Jace wasn't panicking, you're panicking. All he could really hope was that he was making enough moves on her to mean he might actually stand a chance with her. He was proud as she called him warm, and felt like he was on top of the world as they sat down by the fire. Jace was a little nervous, but still put his arm around her shoulders.

He looked across the fire at Ash. She was so enthralled with her friends that she didn't even notice the two of them -- not even when Nova waved, and Jace felt a little bad about that. "Yeah, she's cool. Really popular, though." Like way too popular for Jace to comprehend. "But she's nice. Good sister." His favorite memories ways involved spending time with his sister.

"I think I'd be fine with that. I'll just add personal space heater onto my list of skills." Jace said, grinning as he looked from the fire down to Nova beside him. The glow of the fire on her was enough to give him butterflies, and Jace couldn't believe that he was lucky enough to be here with her.

Ash looked at Ryan with a rather unamused expression. "I see what you're trying to do there." She said as she took the seat next to him, and nudged him with her shoulder. "But I'm so comfortable right as it is." Obviously, she was joking. There was nothing comfortable about being stuck in wet clothes, and Ash hated the feeling of it stuck to her -- but hey, it was fun to tease him.

"Grace! I'm so glad you're here." She said, grinning over at her friend before scooting over from Ryan. "I see you also went for a swim.", She'd missed the yeeting of Grace, but obviously she was wet. It was nice to see her having such a good time with Sawyer, and for her to have such a sweet new friend. Ash hadn't spent much time with Sawyer, but she seemed cool.

Ash then figured she might as well be done with the wet clothes, so she pulled the tank top over her head, tossing it into the sand behind her, before she stood up to shimmy her way out of her shorts, and tossed those with the tank top. Being in a bikini did, well, make Ash somewhat uncomfortable. But she was here, and she'd embrace it... And she would've continued to enjoy her date with Ryan, although someone caught her eye.

"Ryan! Hangout with Sawyer for a moment. I need to talk to Alaska." She smiled apologetically at him -- Ash was horrible at dates thanks to all the friends everywhere. But hey, it was one last thing, and then she'd spend the rest of the night with Ryan.

She walked around the fire, coming to a stop beside Alaska. "Hey, so, like, Ryder totally threw me in the water and yelled 'yeet' and I'd like to throw him in as revenge. Could you help me?" Ash asked, hopefully. Obviously, she couldn't actually lift Ryder and chuck him herself. Even with Alaska's help, she was pretty sure that was out of the question.

"Hospital, huh?" Mason echoed. After spending his couple days in the hospital, Mason was so thrilled to finally be free from that wretched place. "Why are you at the hospital so much?" He asked. Unable to relax as was any longer, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, lighting it.

Sawyer glanced at Grace with concern and was about to say something about what had just happened when Ryan greeted her. Shaking off any thoughts about Grace's words, Sawyer grinned at her best friend as they all gathered around the fire. She noticed June and a few other people gathered around as well.


"Howdy, howdy, everyone." Sawyer plopped herself into the sand next to Grace as she pulled her shirt over her head, "Aren't you two just adorable." She poked at Ash and Ryan with a laugh. Sawyer picked up a stick and poked at the fire with it pulling it out again once to end of it was lit and then dousing it in the sand next to her.


"Cool." Sawyer grinned and did the same thing a second and then a third time the sand hissed against the fire and smoked a bit. With a sudden lapse in judgement, Sawyer pressed her palm down against the smoking sand and let out a yelp when it made contact.


"Fuck. Ow." She laughed, shaking her hand back and forth, "I don't know why I did that." She looked up when Ash scurried off saying something to Ryan about hanging out with her for a second. Her injured hand forgotten, Sawyer snorted.

"Ha! You've been ditched, my man!"

The guy was going to ask her about the hospital thing again, surely. "And it's none of your damn business".

“Maybe.” Raven didn’t care about everyone else at the moment. She positioned herself, when June spoke, surprise took over. Was she... no. Holy crap did this chick just flirt? Raven’s jaw dropped for a split second before regaining her composure. Raising a brow, “Whatever i want? ” Looking at her with a low lidded gaze, she shook her head. Don’t scare her off.

Now posing for whatever photos the red-headed wanted. She wasn’t posing drastically, but most of it was just throwing sultry gazes, at the camera. ..mostly at the camera.

She smiled when she talked about taking pictures of other people. “Sure, we can ask around.. Although I’m not sure if you’ll find a better model.” She gestured to herself, playfully. She wasn’t being cocky. Even though most of the time she is.

“Maybe you could send those to me after you’re done working your magic.” She said, subtly trying to get her number.
