Oliver
talkingawk.gif

Oliver had hardly gotten everyone's names when he was pulled to the table set up not too far away from their original spot. Theo's hand was hot against the skin around his wrist as he was lead to the girl he called herself JJ and a whole other crowd of people. This crowd instantly made him uncomfortable - they were much more of the well known people around the school. Oliver was just the jokester who knew how to play the drums. That was all.

He glanced down at the grip Theo had kept for a little longer than what was actually necessary. Of course, the boy didn't mind, eyes trailing up the length of his arm and stopping at his face. He was one of those popular people, too, the boy guessed. A jock, or something akin to that. He looked away when Theo released him, already plopping one of the earbuds into his ear and stepping to the side. "I'll make sure to give you guys some of my Irish good luck," He said humorously, running his fingers through his messy head of chocolate brown hair. He tuned back in just in time to hear Mia and Kenzie's small discussion. "I'm sure once you watch a little and give it a try, you'll do great!" Always the one trying to instill confidence in others and everyone but himself.

Charlie McAllister
There's a song in my head: Telephone and Rubber Band - Penguin Cafe Orchestra

Well. No handshake. Which was fine, because Charlie's hands were already shaking. (Zing!)

Why was he so nervous? There was nothing to worry about. Nervous? Pfft. He could kick nervous in the goddamn ass if he wanted. No doubt nervousness was also a scrawny halfpint with a sad half-grown-in mustache that he should honestly just shave off. Okay, that was a lie. But he didn't wanna say he had anxiety. Anxiety was for pussies and Tumblr girls, right? Or something like that, anyway.

He coughed a bit. That'd loosen the words in his throat, right? That's definitely how it works.

"It's not that I dislike what's playing," (an absolute lie) "but I was just kind of, full of... weird feelings tonight I guess. Something smoother and more lowkey, but- it can be anything you want, I mean, this isn't my house." He shoved one hand in his pocket, the other turning the weighty glass bottle towards his mouth. It wasn't really kicking in like he was hoping. Maybe he should've gone for something a little bit stronger, more potent. "It's just been a bit stressful for me. Life-wise. I'm sure you don't wanna hear about it, it's pretty poor party conversation and- I mean- who am I to tell you my life story? I just put that stuff on blogspot or write songs about it, where it belongs."

He cleared his throat.

"Sorry, for uh... talking."

That is so stupid. You are a stupid man.

Whatever she said she felt like she made it like, ten times worse than what it was before. Furrowing her eyebrows and well, she actually listened. Weird feelings she could understand, today felt like a complete whirlwind for her, desperately out of it and insecure, that wasn't her. No, of course it wasn't. Just people had decided to get in her head was all. Like, Ash. Why would she know the first thing about cheating? Especially Bryan of all people. Blondes tended to get on JJ's nerves. Deciding to throw her thoughts away and focus on the weird boy in front of her.

Crossing her arms, watching him curiously. "No, it isn't your house." She clarified, and somewhat of an amused smile came onto her face. Raising an eyebrow as he needed a drink from the wine bottle, liquid courage maybe? As he continued... Juliette just honestly pitied him at this point. All this guy wanted was to play some music and she was interrogating him, that didn't mean this wasn't extremely entertaining though.

Blogspot? Did he actually write about his personal problems and post them online for the entire world to see? Damn. Okay. And then he was apologizing for talking, and that honestly got her. Letting out a breathy chuckle, she shook her head. "Don't apologize. This is honestly probably the most real conversation all day." Juliette was the stereotypical cheerleader, obviously. But there wasn't many people that opened up to her, maybe afraid of how she'll judge? She was a bitch when she wanted to be, yes. But that didn't mean she was so cold she would spit in his face just because he wanted to change the music. This isn't a high school movie, although, if it was, she'd definitely be playing the mean girl. She'd nail that role.

That didn't mean she was gonna tap into her acting skills right now. "Listen. Clearly." She started off, shaking her head with a smile on her face.

"I was just teasing, do whatever you want. It's music. Really, I can't stress this enough. I. Don't. Care." Juliette tapped him on the shoulder in a friendly manner for a goodbye. Walking a little ways away before turning around. "And you probably shouldn't write about your problems online." She shrugged. "Just talk to someone." It wasn't until she was far away from the boy she realized maybe he wanted to talk to her.

Maybe she really was that stereotypical dumb cheerleader.

Raven shook her head and looked at him like he was crazy. "Don't apologize. It was a good scene." She shrugged uncaringly. It was really just a scene, so whatever happened between their... people. Should be easy enough to smooth over, no matter how uncomfortable it might've made them. They stood in silence for a few moments, and that silence was so much better than what he said next. She gave him the worst glare she'd probably ever given anyone. "What the fuck. Come on, that's not cool at all." She said and rolled her eyes, and gestured to him.

Shaking her head in surprise that Mason would try saying that stuff around her. "Don't disrespect her like that." She would've said worse any other night. But with literally everything that happened, and not getting any sleep on top of it? She wasn't ready to get into another fight with Adriane's worse half. Okay, that was harsh. Adriane was obviously the worse part of that pair. "It doesn't matter what we are, I just know she doesn't deserve that shit. Even if you meant it in a good way." Boys were stupid. Going around to brag about how good a girl was in bed? Are you kidding? There was many rumors surrounding Raven usually, but it wasn't like they were true.

Because, well, she never actually slept with any of those guys before, eat shit Chad. Going into her bag and pulling out a cigarette, glancing over at him and sighing before she pulled out another and handed it to him. Taking the lighter out of the corner of her bra and lighting her own. What? Being a woman had it's perks sometimes. Hm, that's a lie. It was most of the time. Leaning closer to light his own, whether or not he was upset about what she said was a total different thing. If he was, Mason had way deeper problems than just his toxic masculinity.

Looking towards him when he mentioned Drake, didn't know what to do about him? She knew that he was an addict. But she wasn't sure if that had anything to do with that. Since that whole blog thing, that basically left a really big impact on most of the school actually. It was surprising, really. Furrowing her brows when he brushed it off. Taking the cigarette out of her mouth to reply to him. "No, tell me." She waited for him to continue. "Seriously, go on." Raven would rather hear about someone else's problems other than focusing on her own right now.

Zach had called over one person. One friend, and some how he ended up with six people all wanting to play one game of beer pong. "Glad your back man." Zach smiled turning towards Theo, taking the slingshot from him. "You're so weird, this is great." Zach let out a small chuckle, Theo thought of the most random things.

Ava really sucked at accepting gifts, "Ava can you ever accept a gift without questioning it." He smirked. "It's food, just try it." Zach said nodding to her. He picked the box back up off the table opening it and picking out a pink macaroon. "This could be your second thing you can do today that isn't part of your usual routine." He held it out to her raising an eyebrow.

"Uh so this is a lot more people than I planned... Beer pong is usually one on one, or two on two." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly, he hadn't planned on everyone wanting to play. When Ava had questioned his beer pong playing skills and threatened to ditch him as a team mate. "Hey who will drink for you if you ditch me?" He nudged her with his elbow, taking the pong ball from her.

Zach furrowed his eyebrows together at Shawn, 'damn this kid is weirder than I remember'. He started to bounce the ball close to the table. "How 'bout, Shawn, Theo, me and Ava go this round, and winner plays you two." Zach didn't have any idea who these two girls were across from him. He kinda was almost thinking about throwing the match to avoid multiple games. He hadn't been drinking lately since it was Football season, and had already agreed to take Ava's drinks. "Shawn, I'm almost a hundred percent sure these girls don't know what any of those phrases mean." Zach wasn't even sure he knew what half of them meant, they were pointless if you knew how to play the game.

"I'm pretty sure I remember winning that game." Mads grinned down at the girl at his side. Getting into the car they made their way to the party.

He saw Scar's mood change just as they pulled up behind the truck. But she quickly shook it off, he didn't want to bring it back up again either. He laced his fingers with hers when she took his hand. He loved following her around, Scarlet was on a mission and he found it so attractive. Even if the mission was just to find alcohol and get drunk. "Um well you." He joked with a smile plastered across his face. Leaning down he gave her a quick kiss on the lips. His high was starting to wear off which he was glad about since they were about to start drinking. "Um.. Gin tonight?" He furrowed his eyebrows looking up at the cabinet. "What do you want?"

Rae was excited to spend time with Chase after the play, and not at some party that she would have to pretend to have fun at just to enjoy his company. "You did great tonight." Rae smiled as she reached across the console of the car taking his hand. The play had been a shit show, and even Rae was high out in the audience herself, but as far as she knew Chase had avoided the brownies all together. Lucky him, she thought. "Honestly Chase."She let his name roll off her tongue. "As lame as I sound, I'll just be happy to spend time with you." She gave his hand a light squeeze. "Plus, I don't know many places around here still." Rae hadn't seen much of Westbrook yet, mostly because she was avoiding the cold weather outside her door. North Carolina was so much warmer than Maine.

She had watched him wave at someone across the restaurant before leading her to the other end of the dinner. 'isn't that his brother?' She let the thought leave her head as quickly as it entered. As much as Rae loved her own brother, if the roles were reversed she probably would of done the same. Rae slid into the booth sitting across from Chase. "What's the best thing to get here?" Rae opened the menu that lay in front of her.

Theo watched excitedly as Zach examined his gift. Ava, on the other hand, seemed to think the treats he had given him were poisoned. "Why you gotta be so mean all the time Ava. It's just a gift" he exclaimed, pouting a little bit. What was wrong with giving someone you kinda semi-knew a HELLO IM BACK gift. So mean. Why was Zach friends with someone so mean? What kind of person didn't appreciate presents? On the bright side, Zach's reaction to his gift was much better. "It's great you can shoot people in the face with it" he exclaimed happily, looking around the group. Was it wrong that he was giving the other two presents in front of them? Nah probably not.

He looked over his shoulder at Ollie who seemed to be very uncomfortable in this large group. Hmm... Well, that wasn't good. "Actually. I think I dropped something outside" he said, rubbing the back of his neck. Yes, that was a great excuse good job, Theo. "Someone tap in for me I shall be back." He pulled a medium sized box from his bag. It was wrapped in light blue wrapping paper with FOR JJ scribbled on the side. Inside sat a bottle of real champagne. It was only champagne if it came from France, honestly all these fake champagnes' trying to be cool. There was also a light blue beret with orange and white koi fish stitched on the top. It looked pretty and reminded him of her eyes so he brought it.

"I have bad eyesight and the thing is small. Ollie come and help me" Theo said, trying to grab his wrist again but accidentally grabbing his hand. Oh well. He went with it and pulled Oliver outside again by his hand. "You looked uncomfortable in there" he pointed out the obvious. Then once again he realised that he had been holding onto him for longer than necessary. So he dropped his hand. "Plus I didn't want to be teamed up with a stranger anyways." he shrugged, trying to seem a bit cooler than he was. It didn't work.

Neck Tie

PYCIqR7.gif

Martin hauled all kinds of snacks from the kitchen. Cheese Nachos, Pringles, Kit Kats, M&Ms, you name it. There was never a shortage of snacks at the French residence; it was as though they were stocked for a zombie apocalypse. The last few months had been rather difficult for the father and son, so they were kind of spoiling themselves a little with movie nights, video games, and going a bit all out in the junk food department.

Casper ended up with the only can of coke in the house. As liberal as Martin was with his snack spendings, sodas were particularly unhealthy so he didn’t keep too many cans lying around in the house. Neck Tie kind of figured that his friend liked soda, though. They also had coke when they went to KFC together and he remembered that Casper enjoyed and drank his whole glass.

‘Dad, do you reckon we could get a pizza later? It’s been ages since we last had pizza.’

‘You mean three days ago,’ Martin answered as he shuffled through a few envelopes over at the dining table.

‘Huh?’

‘We had pizza three days ago.’

‘That was ages ago, Dad.’

‘Right, whatever. What toppings would you like?’

‘Um. . .’ Neck Tie turned to Casper. ‘What do you fancy, Casper?’

Martin picked up the phone while he waited for Casper to decide on the topping. Meanwhile, Neck Tie tore open a bag of nachos as the game loaded. He only discovered his love for nachos when he got to try them with various dips at Ash’s party. ‘These are really, really good,' he said.

Neck Tie dusted his hands and picked up the controller. They played the game into the afternoon. He spent some time teaching Casper the basic controls. ‘You can hold that button to sprint. . .’ ‘That’s called a finesse shot. . . Um, it’s like a bit more accurate than the normal shot. See, I’ll show you.’ Although his friend was terrible at the game, Neck Tie didn’t let it seem that way. He went easy on him, conceding a few goals and missing a few easy shots here and there on purpose. ‘You’re doing really well,’ he told him. ‘Maybe we should play some real football sometime. I mean, soccer. Do you have a favourite team? Mine’s Liverpool. I've even been to Anfield once -- to see them play! . . . but that was ages ago. . .’ Neck Tie heard his tummy rumble as he spoke. Whatever happened to that pizza they ordered?

Of all the things Jace expected out of a handshake, the new girl yelping in pain was not one of them. Sure his handshake was firm, but he didn't squeeze that hard. Right? Right. Apparently she just had an injured hand. Had that happened during the play? The girl, Belle, was talking as if she'd only just hurt it. Poor thing, getting herself injured before she even officially started school. Talk about bad omens.

At least she was facing her new, high risk home with grace. Her joke about the night's earlier disaster sparked a light chuckle from him. A humor that widened his grin and added a twinkle to his piercing gaze. She'd already figured out Westbrook's core character trait, clever girl. "Well... Sometimes we fight in the haaaalls, sometimes in the cafeteriaaaa, sometimes at other people's houseeees..." Jace punctuated his sentence with a glance around the room before returning to her eyes. Brown. Not the most interesting eye color, to be sure, but on the right person brown eyes could look nice. "I guess occasionally we manage to throw a party or something that doesn't blow up in our faces, though. In between throwing guys through tables and beating the-" Wait.

Talking about Ryder's table yeeting incident caused Jace to remember something. Mid sentence he cut himself off, tilting his head in the exact same angle as hers. "Hang on... You said your name was Belle right?" It was a familiar name, now that he thought about it, reminding him of a certain twitter conversation from earlier. A recommended student of Westbrook he had yet to follow, a warning of poisoned brownies, and a twitter handle that would make any dad proud. Jace was reasonably confident now of who this girl was. Probably.

Listening to Kenzie’s distress, Mia waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t worry; I’ll… I’ll do all the drinking,” she said, but she didn’t sound at all assured about that. “And I’m sure it can’t be that hard to get the hang of.”

She paid attention as one guy explained the basics to her, and slowly her brain became less and less foggy. Her smile disappeared too, straightening out into a determined frown. Although she didn’t fully understand the last few terms, she got the gist of it.

Oliver’s cheering was appreciated and Mia flashed him a toothy grin, but her focus was immediately redirected to the table. Her eyes scanned the cups’ layout, the angles between them all, the distance of each from the edge of the table.

The guy who received one of Theo’s presents inadvertently gave her everyone’s names. She was grateful she didn’t have to go through the awkward practice of asking for them. Theo had revealed this guy’s name for her earlier, too. Zach.

“I’m fine with that,” she told him, her eyes still locked on the table with intense focus. “I’d like to watch some of the game first, anyway, just to make sure I get it.”

Ava

She wasn't sure that she trusted this macaroon business as Zach handed her one, and everyone lectured her about accepting gifts. Ava forced a smile onto her face, and said "Thanks, Theo." And then luckily, he was leaving. She waited until he was out of earshot to turn to Zach, waving the macaroon in his face. "This could be poisoned. Or... or... some kind of blackmail. Who gets gifts for someone they don't even know? Hmm? No one, not without ulterior motives." Ava explained and yes, she was probably being a little overly worried about the situation, but Ava had never... partied before, and it was off to a suspicious start.

"My usual routine keeps me from dying, Zach." Ava rolled her eyes as if it should be obvious, but she took a bite of the macaroon all the same, and her eyes widened. "Never mind. This is worth dying for." She said, finishing off the cookie and then pointing her finger at the aggressively competitive girl from earlier. "You. Mia or whatever. Be what's-his-face's partner so we can do this." Although that meant she had no other backup if Zach turned out to suck.

Ava had to agree that the terms Shawn was spitting out were difficult to understand. "Look, the best way to learn is to play. And like, basically all he's saying is, don't be a dick, and we'll have fun." She said, smiling as she spoke, and then turned back to Zach, smacking him in the arm. "Don't suck because if you do and I have to get a new partner, you're still taking my drinks for me." Yeah, there was no way that she was going to drink, even if it meant leaving Zach very drunk.

"Alright. Let's get this over with." Ava said, taking the little ping pong ball and then tossing it. It easily landed in one of the cups, and Ava grinned. Yeah, she still remembered how to play. Good.

"Right, sorry." Although he didn't quite understand why Raven was so offended by that. "You didn't answer me, though. Are you like... dating Alaska now, then? Or was that just to piss of her mother or something?" Mason was generally curious, and it wasn't like Raven and Alaska had exactly made it a super secret thing. They had kissed, in front of the entire audience, after all. And like, well, maybe he was interested in knowing who his new friend was dating. Because yes, despite everything, Mason now considered this less than stellar Rivera his new friend. Not that he would probably ever openly admit it.

"Thanks," Mason mumbled, taking the cigarette. His breath caught in his throat for a moment when she leaned in way too close to light his cigarette, and he had to wonder why the hell he even cared so much. It wasn't like it was the first time he'd been this close to Raven, or the first time he'd been this close to any girl, but it was the first time he felt breathless. There was something very much fucking wrong with him, that had to be it, as Mason edged away from her.

"Not much to say. It's really not that big of a deal." He replied, trying to brush off the whole thing as if he hadn't even said it. Well, it wasn't like Mason usually shared his brother's fuck ups, and especially not with people like Raven. "Just... he's spiraling again, and I'm worried that he's going to fuck up and overdose again. And like, his time, he won't wake up, and..." Mason trailed off, just shaking his head as he said it. Yeah, he was worried, but this just felt pitiful.

"Never mind. Forget I said anything." Mason said, and took in a deep breath from the cigarette, exhaling slowly. It was stupid of him to even bring this up to Raven, as if she would care. He had to remind himself that it was him and Drake faces the world. No one was really there, and he was tired of putting his trust in others.

Sawyer

Of all the things she could've possibly come up with. Sawyer literally snorted and buried her face in the side of Grace's neck to hide her laughter. Maybe it wasn't that funny, but right now it was the funniest thing she'd ever heard in her life. What even was borb? Where did she even get that from? Sawyer pulled back away from Grace to raise an eyebrow at her before falling into a fit again.

"What even...where did you pull that from?" She stuck one of her hands in the sky and did a jazz hand motion, "The great and powerful Borb. A tree constellation that represents...hmm...longevity. Yeah." Sawyer sat up and jumped off the hood of the car suddenly and ran around to the door. She dug around in the glove box for a few seconds before pulling out two items. One of them was stored away in her pocket and the other was a pocket knife that she flicked open. Back around in the front of the car, Sawyer motioned for Grace to follow her to the foot of a tree.

"Longevity." Sawyer used her pocket knife to whittle a heart into the bark of the tree, inside of which she carved her own initials before handing the pocket knife over to Grace. While Grace was preoccupied Sawyer pulled the second item she'd gotten out of the car out of her pocket and fiddled around with it until Grace was finished. It glinted in the moon light quite obviously and she closed her fist over it to keep Grace from seeing it until she wanted her to.

Fight at peoples houses? Belle looked around the room to see if she could spot anyone who looked like they would start a fight. So basically everyone in the room. Great. At least it would be interesting? Kinda. Boy by the sound of it they sure did have a lot of fights. "Sounds like I should have stayed home then. I have an only punch one person per day kinda rule" she joked but it was also true. She didn't want to test the lords' boundaries too much. Also punching Mason had really hurt her hand! Next time she would aim for a soft and squishy bit. Yes, that sounded like a much better plan. Or she could continue to punch harder places to toughen up her hands. That's how that worked, right?

"Yes, It is Belle," she confirmed, fiddling with her ring. She wanted to pull her phone out just to double check Drake hadn't responded. Even though she knew he hadn't because her phone hadn't gone off. Why hadn't he? Was he like an early sleeper or something? Getting a good amount of rest before their date tomorrow. That was probably a good idea. Oh well, she would be fine. That's what coffee was made for.

"Half the school is going to be suspended by the time I start as well. I don't think the principle took well to being knocked off the stage." All the people she had befriended were going to be apart of that suspension as well. Hm... Maybe she could get suspended too so she didn't have to be alone. It was funny, yes, but not enough for her to keep laughing as hard as Sawyer did. So, she watched her with adoring eyes, softly laughing when asked how’d she come up with it, she shrugged. “I made it up.” She did, is there really something called Borb out there? If there was, Grace would be majorly surprised, and maybe a little upset that they’d probably stolen her idea. Her smile widened and she shook her head at her girlfriend’s jazz hands, extremely dorky, but adorable nonetheless. “Longevity.” She repeated glancing up at their made constellation while Sawyer had felt the need to retrieve something from the car, furrowing her eyebrows, curious on what exactly she was doing.

Hopping off the car when she beckoned her over, and they made their to a tree. Grace by now obviously knew what her plan was, and it was a great one at that. Waiting until she’d carved the heart and her own intitals, like in those romance movies, what? That’s where her mind was going, she’s in love. Grinning over at her and taking the pocket knife without question.

Clearly focusing on making this one thing tonight perfect, she managed to carve her own next to
Sawyer’s. Once she was done she ran a hand over the heart, and closed the pocket knife, which she wasn’t surprised to know her girlfriend had one in the first place, In a good way of course. Turning around to see Sawyer, and gesturing to the tree behind her. “SA and GJ, could be a little of a tongue twister, but I think they make a great pair.” Walking a little closer and holding out her pocket knife for her to take.

Mia glanced over to the ‘what’s-his-face’ in question. He struck her as a hyper person; she hoped they didn’t clash. At this point, she’s learned that she’s not at all mellow when she’s high. It was odd to think about, but the truth of the matter was that her timid nature left the moment she bit into that brownie.

“Shawn, right?” she asked, gesturing to him. “It’s nice to meet you. Call me Mia. I guess I’m your interim partner.” She moved over to stand beside him and watched Ava launch the ball into a cup. A perfect throw. She looked to Shawn for guidance. “Are you drinking or am I?”

A thought popped up in her head. Mia wondered what it was like to be drunk. Was it akin to being high, or was there a difference? Not waiting for Shawn to answer, she took out the ping pong ball and drank from the cup, chugging it all in one go. It burned her throat and her eyes watered as she coughed.

“Ow, okay,” she said once she stopped choking, “okay, you’re doing the drinking from now on. That’s disgusting. What the fuck.” Never again. It was even worse than the earthy taste from the weed. These just weren’t her things.

Oliver rose his eyebrows in surprise. Oh, Theo left something outside? Then, the boy turned to him and took his hand. What? Blinking a few times, he let his new friend lead him once more, this time away from everyone else. Sure, he'd help him find whatever he wanted, especially with a face like that. His palm was burning from where Theo's connected to his, but Oliver was ultimately relieved from the stress when the boy let him go. They were outside, now, but Theo sure didn't seem like he was looking for anything. Oliver was about to ask him what he had misplaced when the real reason for their departure fell from the attractive boy's lips.

Rubbing at the back of his neck, Ollie gave a slight embarrassed laugh. "No, no-- well, a little." He gave a smile, thinking about just how thoughtful the gesture had been, to take him outside and away from what seemed to be making him feel weird. They had just met, but he was already being much more of a friend than anyone he'd ever considered as one. "You're all so...cool." Oliver shook his head and breathed a slight chuckle. "I mean, I don't really play any sports or hang out with a lot of people like this. I tried Little League baseball, one season, and it was bad. Nah, I just play the drums and take pictures, sometimes." The corners of his light brown eyes crinkled as he explained - still somewhat embarrassed but smiling it off all the same.

She laughed at his joke, her neck going hot and yet still smiled into the kiss he gave her. When he pulled away and turned, she followed his gaze back to the cabinet. Scarlet leaned into him slightly, tilting her head to the side as he asked about gin. "Sure, why not? I'm going to drive you home later, though, so I won't have a lot." The small brunette reached and grabbed a bottle that was just barely within her reach, not allowing Mads any time to get it for her despite the fact that he was by far taller than her and would reach it with much more ease. If he hadn't learned already, she was fairly independent, in a nutshell.

Turning and grabbing two cups, she filled hers with not too much, but enough for a small buzz before they would ultimately leave in a few hours. On the other hand, when she poured Mads' drink for him, the girl glanced her hazel eyes up to him with a mischievous flutter of her lashes, accompanied by a grin that pressed dimples into her cheeks. "Here you go~," She said with a slight lilt in her voice as she delicately handed him his cup, bending her head back slightly so she could look at him, her hair slipping from her collarbones to just barely hang behind her. His cup was...well, he would be set for the night, that was for sure. "For you. Take it or leave it, hotshot."

Casper Ollila

Casper eyed the snacks as if he had never seen them before, eyes wide as he carefully reached for a kit kat. The snacks in his home were without a doubt healthier than this, and in all honesty, this was a welcome relief.

He hummed, smiling as he split it, then bit into it.

And then he jumped, hard, at the mention of Stu’s father. He turned to the man, eyes wide, worried that the coke might be snatched away from him at any second. Casper stared at the drink before grabbing it and taking a large gulp. If it were going to be taken away, he at least wanted to have some of it, right?

He didn’t really pay much attention to what Stu and Mr. French were talking about until he heard his name, more concerned with eating and drinking.

“Huh?” he asked, eyes wide, mind racing. He racked his brain for what Stu could possibly be discussing, then gasped. “Oh! Um…”

He didn’t really do pizza- even at parties- so he didn’t have much experience, but he should probably make it healthy-ish, right? Something his omma would approve of?

“Spinach? And maybe some mushrooms?” He perked up at the idea. That sounded yummy.

He turned to Stu as he spoke again, smiling when he opened the nacho bag, and he eyed it with interest, then, smiling, reached into it and pulled out a nacho to eat himself. Casper hummed again, nodding along to what Stu said as the game booted up.

He followed Stu’s lead in dusting off his hands before grabbing a controller, and nodded along to everything Stu showed him, even if following the advice he was given wasn’t easy. He nibbled his lip at times, but found himself smiling when he made goals.

“Really?” he said, turning to look at Stu for a second before his gaze quickly returned to the screen. “You think I’m doing well?” The way he saw it, Stu had no reason to lie to him, so if he said Casper was doing well, he must have been.

Then he caught up with the rest of what Stu had said, and his smile faltered. “I don’t know. I’m not really good at sports.” It was true- his coordination wasn’t the best, and though he had better control of his hands, his feet were a nightmare in almost every way. It was shocking to him that he avoided walking into things regularly.

At that moment, the worst possible thing that could have happened did. Casper was drawn into a conversation about sports, which Casper knew nothing about. He was quiet for a second, trying to find a civil way out of this.

Finally, he settled on something. “My family doesn’t really like sports.” The way he said it was almost apologetic, as if he were not in a member of the family that didn’t care much for sports. “And Daddy doesn’t like television, so I don’t really know how we’d watch sports.”

He was quiet for an awkward second, and then he asked, cautious, “Do you like art?”

Aaron Ollila

At that moment, Aaron received a text from his mother. Casper was home. Home. And Aaron was about to get yelled at for not being home. Because how dare he go anywhere without Casper, right?

Bitter, he huffed, turning off his phone. Fuck going home. Fuck getting yelled at. He’d deal with the consequences when he got home. To be honest, they probably wouldn’t be that bad until tomorrow. And he’d just make sure he had somewhere to be tomorrow until his dad got home. And he’d take Casper with him.

Fucking Casper.

Deciding to head outside and just sit a bit after refilling his glass, he just watched everyone out there. Maybe he'd reach a point he couldn't think.

Raven
tumblr_pnbhd8qTnp1wpsy3do6_400.gif

Well, at least he apologized. Narrowing her eyes in thought of his question, Raven didn't really know what they are. Are they dating? Is that... like a thing? It makes her sound like a middle schooler, but... Raven has never really had an actual girlfriend before or... boyfriend. Flings maybe, but nothing ever too serious. However, she meant what she said. She was willing to try it out. "I think so? I don't know. We're something." Yeah, definitely something she had to talk to Alaska about. "It wasn't just to piss anyone off, that whole thing wasn't planned. It just... kinda happened." Referring to the curtain opening, and well, that whole 'I want you' thing. Even though she hadn't really thought it all through, Raven didn't regret it. And would do the same thing ten times over.

Raising an eyebrow as he actually started to talk about it. Taking a long drag out of the cigarette, and turning her head so she didn't blow the smoke into his face. Hey, that's a development in their relationship, look at that. She just shook her head when he started talking about Drake and overdosing, it wasn't like she was new to substance abuse, it was something that was really common with a certain family member.

They both really had a lot of similarities and it wasn't just their last name they shared. And it was clear this was more than 'not a big deal' to him. Ignoring his words, she decided to speak on it. "It's normal for you to be worried, he's an addict. And I mean, he's your brother... I think you should talk to him about it, might be hard to have that conversation considering, well, they'll deny it. But... you gotta put in the effort too." She shook her head, and sighed. "But I wouldn't worry too much. He seems like a very... energetic guy, but strong nonetheless." Taking the cigarette out of her mouth and throwing it to the floor. She didn't feel like her words worked very well.

Stopping in her tracks as she squashed it with her boot. Although she didn't start walking with him again just yet. Hesitating with her words for a moment. "Y'know I'm..." She thought about it for a moment considering if she wanted to say more about it. "...really familiar with that kind of that stuff. So like, you don't have to... forget about it with me." It sounded weird, yeah, but she's sure she got the point across. She knew what it was like, she just wanted to make sure he knew that she cared.

June
She watched him from behind her red solo cup. He seemed like he didn’t know her. Her heart felt somewhat lighter by this fact alone. She felt her tense shoulders lower and her grip on the cup soften as he smiled to her. “Oh, that’s cool.” She said with a small smile even though she had questions about why he would be at a party. But, he didn’t seem that old. “It’s okay if you’re late, as long as your there to help. And don’t worry. I’ve seen my far share of fights and the craziest of them don’t happen at school.” She said with a slight nod of her head as she took another gulp and lowered her cup. She looked up at him slowly. “Do you know Alaska personally?” She decided to ask next, the drink making her lips looser. She giggled a bit and smirked. “Do you have... like a crush on her or something? If you do, oh boy, you probably need to stand in line or something.” She laughed again, her head slightly buzzed.

Jamie

Jamie gave a small nod. True, as long as he tried, it didn't matter. The redhead seemed like the only one that appreciated his attempts at trying to help, and the boy definitely appreciated that much about her. He was about to ask her what fights she could have possibly seen outside of school when she prompted him with a more interesting question. Giving a slow shake of his head he gave a small sigh. "I played hockey with Chase, mostly. He's a good friend of mine, so I know Alaska that way, and through her fighting," He informed June with a small shrug before giving another shake of his head.

He almost laughed, mirth filling his expression as his gray eyes caught the light of the kitchen. Alaska was... were they friends? It was a weird dynamic, that was for sure. But they definitely wouldn't be more that, especially with what she probably thought him, now. "No. I'm pretty sure she hates me, to be honest." Jamie made a slight face, finishing his drink and starting to feel the effects of the alcohol he had been consuming since he had arrived.

The guy he'd met earlier; Jaewha. The one he'd stupidly made out with once his accumulated high had reached a peak beyond reasonable. With a sigh, he ditched her for only a moment as he jogged down the aisle in an attempt to help his... friend? Acquaintance would do for now, after all they didn't even know each others last names. But that meant virtually nothing compared to the sad view of the teen curled up on the floor. The poor boy seemed absolutely miserable, and although Jesse had no idea as to why, he felt responsible in one way or another. That being said, he couldn't leave Maisie for too long either. She definitely wasn't having the best of times herself and... He kind've liked her. Hopefully that wasn't the pot talking again.
"Hey... Let's get you in a seat, yeah?" The Bronx Boy spoke gingerly, as he reached down and peeled Jae off from the floor with a relative ease. Although Jesse was lean in size, he possessed quite the capable physique. With a few simple movements, he slid Jaewha into a seat as comfortably as he could and ruffled the other boys hair in what was intended to be a soothing manner. He made to leave, but hesitated for a moment. Jesse couldn't just leave that easily. Even if Maisie was going to likely kill him if he took longer, too much had been left unsaid in this situation. With a light huff, the young Croft retrieved a sharpie he'd left in his back pocket and jotted down his number on Jae's arm.
"Call me, okay? And enjoy the show." He offered lightly, before he made his way back up the walkway and out once more with the curly haired beauty he'd had the pleasure of leaving with. She took him on a walk of sorts, and about halfway through they apparently had to change directions. Of course, Jesse didn't mind this at all. He enjoyed the night air, and the swift ocean breeze that swept through their autumn seasoned town with a slight chill. It truly gave the entire place a sense of perspective for him, in a strange way and as they walked he hoped that Jae would calm down even if he wasn't there. Finally they appeared at what seemed to be their destination, and a grey cat with oddly colored eyes stood proudly before him. Jesse took a moment to register her words as his gaze locked on the image of graffiti, and then on her. The eyes... They were so similar. Had she done this?
"Of course, this looks amazing!" He laughed genuinely, which in turn caused the little pom pom on the back of his hat to bounce lightly. In that case, this had to be hers. The innocent seeming Maisie was a street artist? He never would have guessed such a turn of events, but like the breeze, it only served to add a level of depth to her personality.

Madison was starting to feel a bit bad for Scar always having to drive him around, after parties especially. She always was stuck giving him a ride home, and needing to be the sober DD. He was a pretty bad boyfriend for always needing a ride, unless his sister would let him borrow her car. But she didn't like to since he was a pretty awful driver. Realistically it was probably safer for Scar to drive, even if Mads was sober he wasn't much better than most tipsy drivers.

He was about to reach for the gin bottle when Scar had stretched herself as far as she could to get her herself. Well he was definitely learning that Scar got everything she needed done without any of his help. He wasn't exactly feeling like the best boyfriend, but it wasn't anything big right. Scar liked to take care of herself, and it was definitely safer if Scarlet drove anyways.

Scarlet had filled their cups up, Madison's cup was almost filled to the rim. Her mischievous look on her face told him that she had filled up his cup to this ridiculous amount on purpose. "If I didn't know any better, I would think you were trying to get me drunk." He raised an eyebrow smirking. Looking down at the small brunette. "I'm going to take this." He said taking the cup from her and carefully raising it towards her and then to his lips. "As a challenge." He finished his sentence taking a sip from the glass. Yea he was definitely going to feel this tomorrow.

"There we go, you sound half genuine." Zach smirked at Ava who had given into the mercy of the macaroon, and actually enjoyed it. Even if it was a pain to get her to even try the damn thing. Thinking an unopened box was poisoned. Jeez this girl really needed to get out more. "I'm guessing you didn't have one of the brownies at the play tonight." He stifled a laugh from escaping his mouth.

At least getting down a few team members had left, unfortunately Theo left him alone with all the weirdos, what else could he do really. Already committed to a game he wasn't entirely interested in playing anymore. "I get drunk, and don't even get to play, now how is that fair?" He nudged her before she took her turn, as she made a decent throw already knocking one cup out of the way. "Damn Ava you're not half bad." As the girl across the table took the drink, finding it ultimately repulsive. "If you can't handle beer, I don't suggest you try anything stronger." Zach laughed as he effortlessly took his own shot making it into the back right cup. "Two for two, we might just make a decent team after all Mary."

Mood: Undiscernable | Interacting with: Jesse | Mentions: Dethrix Dethrix

Jae almost didn’t notice Jesse had returned until he felt himself being pulled up. Within seconds he was back in his seat, a dazed expression on his face. He lifted his head to press against Jesse’s hand as the taller male ruffled his hair, his breathing steadying. When Jesse made a move to leave, though, his heart rate picked back up.

He’d barely processed the marker rubbing against his arm until after the other had left. Still loopy, Jae lifted his arm and stared down at the number, making the connection instantly. A smile formed on his face and he managed to relax despite the wild emotions circling around his mind.

The play was, unfortunately, too boring for him to keep up with. A few more minutes in and he drifted off to sleep. Sleeping while high was weird. The colors, the feelings, the… dancing pizza slices… All of it had him waking up with a terrible headache as a fight occurred. Groaning, he straightened his posture and stood up, deciding there was no reason for him to stick around when the entire thing had gone to shambles.

His walk home was uneventful. Sleeping helped ease whatever state of mind he was currently in. Jae busied himself with tracing his fingers over the numbers on his arm with a lopsided grin. That’s when he heard the commotion. It came from the house he was walking beside. A party?

An idea formed in his mind. He wanted another chance to talk to Jesse, face-to-face. Pulling out his phone, he punched in the number and fired off a text message.

‘Hey, it’s Jae. There’s a party happening at [Address Directions]. Want to join me?’

While Chase was a little worried about Rae being high since he wasn't sure how she reacted to drugs, she was pretty damn funny when she was. His jokes seemed much funnier to her tonight and he couldn't help but laugh at how cute she was. Going to Curly's was a much better idea than going to the after party, there was nothing dramatic about eating food and he could finally be somewhat alone with her.

"Are you sure that's not the weed brownie talking?" He joked, though he knew she was serious. A lot of girls liked him for his looks, but Rae cared about so much more than that, it was one of the reason's he liked her so much. Despite how shy she could be sometimes, Rae wasn't afraid to be herself around him and seemed to genuinely care about who he was as well. He never felt the need to pretend to be someone else around her, it was natural to be around her.

"Definitely the burger and shake, best in town." He answered, flipping through the menu even though he'd seen it a thousand times. Curly's was where everyone hungout, it was usually packed after Friday night football games, or any Friday for that matter. Luckily with so many after parties going on it wasn't as busy as it usually was.

"So, what is your family doing for Thanksgiving?"

Ryder

OrneryVelvetyClownanemonefish-max-1mb.gif

"I'll miss some things, but I can't wait to get out of the house and away from all the petty drama." Ryder realized he'd still have to deal with idiots like Mason in college, but it would be a lot less frequently and it was so much easier to avoid people when you weren't shoved into a tiny space and forced to interact everyday. He realized he needed to curb his temper if he was going to get into a good school, but people made it so damn hard. At least he'd be healed in time for hockey, he was relying on his athletic abilities to make up for his standard grades and behavior issues.

The one thing he'd really miss was Ash, even if they weren't dating she was still one of the few people he really enjoyed being around. Despite being his only girl friend, she was one of his best friends because she never held back and told him when he was being stupid, she was funny and smart and reliable. Ryder trusted Ash more than anyone, though apparently not enough to tell her how he'd really felt until it was too late.

"You better come visit every once in a while. Who else is gonna cheer me on at games?" He joked, though realistically he knew he'd lose touch with most of his high school friends he really hoped Ash wouldn't be one of them. He didn't think he could find someone else as great as her. They'd been friends for so long he couldn't imagine them not being friends, the few days after breaking up had been torture and he wasn't sure he could handle a lifetime of that.

Ryder was nervous as he waited for Ash's response, avoiding eye contact and stirring the straw in his water to keep his hands occupied. The worst that could happen was that she would say they could only be friends, and as much as it would hurt to just be her friend, it was better than not being friends at all. It was exciting and painful all at once to hear her say that he always made her happy, even though he knew he'd caused her plenty of pain.

"Ash, it's not just your fault. We both have a pretty long track record of fucking things up." He tried to joke, though he could barely manage a smile as he looked up to meet her blue eyes. "When I said I just wanted to be friends I just...I was hurt and I didn't know what to do. I want to be with you, but I also don't want to hurt you anymore."

"Ash, I've never cared about anyone as much as I care about you. I'm scared to ruin things with you." Though he'd dated around a lot, Ryder had really never felt anything close to what he felt for Ash. She was always around to brighten his day and he didn't want to lose that, didn't want to make her life any harder than it already was. Maybe it was time to stop worrying about hurting her and just let their relationship happen.

Maisie
tumblr_pjnoiyvGzy1uz4mb8o7_r1_250.gif

She smiled brightly at Jesse's praise. Glad enough to know that he liked it. Hopefully he wouldn't mind sprucing up the rest of the wall, she tilted her head towards it, grabbing her bag and sliding it off, retrieving two cans of spray paint and handing Jesse one with a grin. "Let's see whatcha got." Redirecting her attention to the wall, and she got to work. Maisie didn't have much on her right now, so she couldn't exactly make anything extravagant. But she could sure as hell try. "I started doing this kind of stuff when i was..." Biting her lip in thought, as her hand froze. Trying to remember when exactly.

"Eleven? I think?" She nodded her head in agreement with herself and continued to work on her 'brilliant masterpiece.' Kidding, it wasn't good at all, at least to Maisie, when her thoughts were usually focused on things like this, it was fairly simple to let her thoughts wonder, but this time in a good way. So, naturally, she continued. "Sara, she was my best friend. Showed me how." The corners of the lips tilted in a bittersweet smile. She still didn't quite get why she left without saying anything.

Deciding to move onto other things, this time she kept quiet as she continued, and within a half an hour, she was done. Shaking the paint can for good measure, when it was empty she threw it in a nearby dumpster. "Gotta get rid of the evidence." Chuckling at her own terrible joke. She wasn't as shy with Jesse now, maybe it's because he'd saw her so vulnerable already?

Stepping back to admire her work, she looked towards Jesse. "What do you think?" Cocking her head to one side, it was okay... "I've never been to New York. But I imagine these are what the skyscrapers look like, no?" It was fairly simple to make the outlines of the infamous New York city, although, something as simple could be mixed up with... like Seattle. Or... any big city for that matter.

Staying there for a few moments when their small silence was broken by Jesse's phone going off, and she flinched at the sound before she smiled sheepishly, a little embarrassed at the fact a literal ringtone had managed to make her jump.

Charlie McAllister
There's a song playing right now!

Charlie was baffled, absolutely bewildered and blindsided by Juliette's... frankly baseless kindness. After all, what had he ever done for the world, other than cry a lot and record some hot guitar solos. She said he was real. Even though he'd totally lied about her inviting him specifically, or people actually listening to his shaky acoustic riffs. Was it just the weird feeling? On a night like this... Everyone was probably feeling a little weird. Apparently some huge fights had broken out during the musical. It was a stacking war, when one began, so did another, and another.

Charlie had been in his fair share of fights. After all, he has two siblings -- one who cared for him deeply until that happened, and the other fully indoctrinated by his mother and father while he was still young. A family trapped in a cracker box all trying to tear each other's throats out. A home that desperately could have benefited from a tube of quadraturin, if only it were real, and not a story made by Russian authors years before Charlie even saw the light of day.

Charlie always prided himself on being "real". The most authentic version of himself, no matter how grimy or uncomfortable. He'd bare his guts and soul and let himself be vulnerable, but really, how honest was he being with anyone? It'd been long before the surgery when Charlie questioned whether or not the heart inside him was even his own. JJ, meanwhile, was a creature that never once attempted to be real. Unless she was criticizing your outfit, never once did she attempt to project honesty. They were two liars who somehow, from two opposite ends of the universe, came to an ultimatum of complete truth.

Art. It was art.

"We should hang out some time!" He managed to call out after her just before she left. Hopefully there was some part of Westbrook where JJ wouldn't have to worry about being seen with a guy who looks like a character from The Grudge. And then a second of silence.

Speaking to an Alexa was somehow not much easier than speaking to a person. Talking to a fucking cylinder must have made him look like a real basket case. Even if it didn't, that was how it felt. Sometimes his voice would trail off while recording music when he realized he was sitting in his bathroom, with his only audience being a cheapo laptop. How was it so embarrassing to just know nobody was watching.

He leaned towards the Alexa and mumbled a little.

"Alexa, can you play, uh... Can you play, um, shit..." Which song was he thinking about? Oh, right. "Alexa, can you play 'Atop a Cake' by Alvvays?"

The song kicked in and Charlie dropped his whole body into the nearest chair, guzzling some more of the wine -- shakily, so it dripped a little down the side of his face. Fair enough, these things weren't meant to be drank from directly. And the ceiling looked really nice tonight. "Thanks." Why was he thanking a robot? Christ.
