Ghostly Presence
Sawyer
When Grace finished Sawyer smiled at the carving in the tree and found herself feeling like she was falling. This felt like some scene out of a movie but Sawyer could care less. She would rip something straight out of a movie if she felt like Grace would like it. Sawyer would probably do anything if she thought Grace would like it. As Grace stood and made went to hand Sawyer's knife back to her, Sawyer flipped the ring in her hand into her palm until she had shoved the knife into her pocket.
"I think they do to." Sawyer said, referring to Grace's comment about them making a great pair, "Which is why, about a week ago, I went out and got this." She revealed the ring finally and presented it to Grace with a wide smile. The thing was dainty and silver with two light blue stones set on the outside of where the ring twisted into an infinity simple. It was cheesy, sure, but she had thought it was pretty and almost exactly what she was looking for. The color of the stones had reminded her of Grace's eyes and after that thought came about there was no question about buying it.
"I had planned to have this whole date thing, but this felt like the right time so." Sawyer reached down and picked up Grace's hand, "With this promise ring, I promise to be here as long as you need me and to never stop loving you." Deceptively simple words with a whole lot of emotion and meaning packed behind them. Promising to always be there for someone wasn't something she'd had the chance to do a whole lot and now there was this real tangible thing there to remind Grace of that promise. Sawyer slipped the ring over Grace's finger and let out a heavy, relieved sigh.
"Oh, thank god it fits. I was worried it wouldn't." Sawyer ran her thumb over the ring and then looked up at Grace again, "Is it alright?"
