"Jackass." Jamie muttered before getting rid of the yo-yo and running to Amanda's side. He was sure that the Adamant was lying about Nox anyway, and if he wasn't, he knew that she had a good reason. Unlike his birth mother, she always did.


"Cal, can you do anything to help her?"

Calcifer really despised the fact that he didn't seem to be able to speak to anyone but Amanda. He twinkled irritably and then strained, making small tendrils and formed them into letters.

Really, he didn't have to ask for Jamie's permission about anything. But, this might alarm him less if he knew it was for a good cause. Besides, Amanda wasn't badly hurt, just knocked out.


Sorry... He thought into the diffuse haze that right now was Amanda's end of their link. Then he positioned himself in front of Amanda's forehead and pushed himself into it. Amanda's eyes opened with a burning fire as Calcifer quickly flew out again. Amanda sat up gasping for breath and clutching a wretched headache.


"Wha- Jamie? What happened?"

"Well. It turns out that a giant thing is heading towards Earth and will destroy it on impact, everyone thinks its Nox's fault. The angel was actually an Adamant that Ilim sent to kill me cuz he thought I was in on it. Cal just did something to wake you up. I'm probably gonna go into coma or something cuz theirs no way I'm gonna be able to induce amnesia on myself for this one. Oh, and I just told you that I mess with my own memory to stay innocent and sweet." Jamie gave her the doe eyes, but they just looked wrong when he still had shadows flickering in them.


"If you got any good questions, ask quickly. Battle mode Jamie only lasts for as long as the battle. Right now I'm hanging out til the adrenaline drains away."

Amanda stared. Then she gawped. Then she stared some more. Then she groaned and fell down on her back.


"Ughh, I have to stop being surprised by all this. So the big reveal is Ilim's even bigger of a jerk than I thought and this Nox might have sent a star to burn all life on Earth. I feel like my head's split open. Must be how Papa feels after an evening of 'indulging in 'is 'eritage." The last bit was a mimic of her father's French accent. She decided to double-check Jamie's claims with Calcifer.


Is all that true, Calcifer?


Yup, although the star is going to wipe out the whole solar system, not just the Earth. Oh, and it has already destroyed a few rogue planets. Good news, however. There aren't many stars between us and Sirius' original spot! So we're the only system to go kaboom.


We're having a bloody brilliant day if that's the best news you got.


Yeah, it's been fantastic. I always wanted to fear for your life twice in the same day.

Despite everything, her mental conversation with Calcifer did a lot to cheer her up. She stood up wearily and smiled confidently. Calcifer perched on her shoulder.


"Well, I suppose there's only one question to ask. What are we going to do about it?"

Battle Jamie wanted to talk seriously, but he felt himself slipping.


"Would but my time's up. Oh,  and catch me, I'm falling." He proceeded to faint with what could only called grace. 


Huginn and Muginn flew down as he fainted.  Amanda wouldn't be sure,  but if she looked closely she would see their glee at Battle Jamie's departure.

Lyker looked at the new god "i showed him to his new house, since he lives with me" Lyker crossed his arms and looked at hitch "that's fine as long as you have them then we should be good, me and my father had a bit of a....falling out considering William and my realm, i figured he would go after Bragi and since Odin is Banished from my realm it is the safest place for him right now" he looked at the other god "if you wish to see him..." he waved his hand and the mark of the Phoenix formed on his arm "put your hand on that and say his name you will be taken to him in my realm" he sighed

Bragi looked at William while petting the dog "um whats wrong" he asked slightly scared the god would do something to him

Amanda didn't have time to look at the ravens. She had her hands full with catching Jamie. She eyed him worriedly and then lifted him up bridal style. She then noticed the ruined battlefield.


"Actually, the first thing I'm going to do is sneak off and hope I don't have to explain this to the cops." She smiled victoriously as she remembered the spell she had scared Jamie with.


"Mugidim!"


Jamie and Calcifer were still visible.


"Er... Mugidos?"


Yeah, that was better. Now to be as quiet as possible. Hah, she was a modern-day magical ninja! A minja! No, that was horrible. Let's pretend she never had that thought. 


She stuck effortlessly past the gateman and the police cars that had parked outside. The police were just about to rush in to stop whatever acts of terrorism were being committed in there. They had been hindered by a number of satellites used by them for relaying information being mysteriously wiped from orbit, but Amanda knew nothing about that. If she had checked her phone at all she would have noticed it had no connection to anything, much like all phones using the same service provider as she was. Right now, however, she was occupied with carrying Jamie home and then maybe passing out herself. She'd already done that. She'd settle for sleep. It had, after all, been a VERY long day.


((Week-long in fact. What say you about a time skip to let our weary mortals rest? And for Sirius to catch up...))

Huginn and Muginn were going to follow Jamie and the ichor until they realize that they were the only ravens left alive at the tower. The rest had died from shock or eletrocution. They had grown quite fond of their caretakers over the years and didn't wish to caise them panic by thinking that all the ravens haf left the Tower. The two ravens took wing and circled around the complex. No one seemed to notice that they weren't kept birds of the Tower; they were just elated to see that some had survived.

All PCs are run from a supercomputer netword and the internet is run on fiber optic cabling, with a few extra features even secret government organizations can't get their hands on. In short, only the end of the world, or the complete shutdown of the global electrical grid, would interrupt or reduce connectivity." The maid beamed proudly as she boasted, pressing even closer to Akuma.


"Gaël truly is amazing isn't he?" She exclaimed like a proud older sister and pulled Akuma into a tight hug.

"Sure, but I can summon scythes and make soot minions. And I have wings. And I saved the mortal race from the eventual demon invasion." Akuma was somewhat surprised at his own words. Was this jealousy? He should know better, having seen the effects of a society based off the Sins. Like lust. Akuma recalled what Caine had told him just now... The maid seemed nice--NO, BAD AKUMA! Just calm down... ask her a question.


"D-do we have any suits of armor or statues around here?"


Well, it was a question.

Hitch looked at the mark in distaste. "Why would I want to speak to him. I have told him all of this before, and I am sure when he feels like he is in need of speaking to me, He could find me easily enough. Now that you are here though, I would like to know what you are doing eight weeks from now? Nox has planned a bit of a going away party, of which I am disinclined to frequent. Thoughts? I have extended an invitation to our beloved, at a little soiree of my own - and he seemed keen." Hitch spoke in a light manner, while his face and demeanor clearly showed that he was talking about the end of the world, and his personal endeavors to try and salvage as much as possible. He assumed that Loki must have been made aware of the situation and would understand what he was talking about.

The maid paused, confused, then burst out laughing. 


"Of course not, Milord. I just thought that yoy might like some protection if we happen to run into Gaël along the way. Now, come along." She didn't so much lead him as drag him down the hall. If she stopped to contemplatwould she was so comfortable with Akuma, she'd find no logical reason.

Loki Sighed  and shook his head "we only have eight weeks, how exactly did this happen and the mark wasn't meant for you Hitch it was meant for this guy" he said pointing at Fausto and the mark transferred for Hitch's arm tot he other gods "would you mind explaining please my darling husband to be has not told me if you expected him to" he leaned against the wall

Bragi sighed "s-sorry sometimes i get flashes of memories and one of those was you hitting me with a giant club and the other was you and me having sex. and im pretty sure those two are connected somehow"

I seem to remember me telling you that very same thing when we did it that night, he thought in his mind.


"No. You were not supposed to remember ANYTHING. ESPECIALLY not THAT. I wanted you to not remember anything, that way maybe you could change your ways. About the giant club, I HAD to. You were going to hurt lots and lots of people if I didn't stop you, I'm sorry. I wish you would have forgotten that..."

"i know i was a bad person" Bragi said quietly "that's why im trying to change" he rubbed the dog's stomach more "i don't want to hurt anyone i want to use these powers for good" he said quietly holding back tears

"I forgive you" he said and he suddenly gave Bragi a hug of comforting.

Bragi flinched but leaned into the embrace sighing "thank you i promise i will be a better person" he cried in Williams arms

Afterwards he released the boy from the embrace.


"I will tell you what I was going to tell you later. Right now you've got enough on your plate as it is without being imediatley bombarded by the news." He said somberly.

"no just tell me now" he wiped his eyes "just get it over with now" he sighed and told the dog to leave, it whined but ran out the door yelling that it would come back later
