Fantasy Welcome to the Pantheon (Reboot - Always Accepting!)

@Stormyface

"This Keep tells the stories of the Followers of Nox. It is, in a since,  as old as humanity."

((just downlaoded Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition. Im about to be dead to the world.

See ya sometime tomorrow.))

"That's actually rather interesting. An entire cult's history told through architectural means. Although I have to wonder at the significance of the shameless Pegasus..."

@Delacare

((Bioware RPGs... I think it'll be a bit longer until you come back :P))

((Unfortunately, I have 9hr shift in 2hrs. I could cry. I want to play.))

"Shameless Pegasus? What on Earth are you talking abou-. You've been to the statue room. Who took you there and why?"

"I just wanted to see the rooms, so I asked around like 'Are there any art galleries around here?' And they said 'Well, there's the statue room, but--' and I left before they could finish."

Akuma sent a mental message to Amelia.

I got your back, fam! I'll never tell!

@Delacare

((oh, work. Gets ya that money, but sometimes it's just... AAGAGAHAHDHFIDNDJF))

"Then I guess it'll be fine if I accompany you to the statue room again." Gaël offered pleasantly but it was obvious that charity was the farthest thing from his mind.

"Of course. I memorized the path. From the big staircase, take three rights, go past the waterslide and the armor room, and a left. If you see the servant's quarters, you've gone too far. Let's go! :)"

AMY GET SOMEWHERE SAFE ASAP THE MAJORDOMO'S ANGRY

@Delacare

"Why walk when we can take the shortcut?" Gaël pulled out a Keep's Key and whispered over it.

"To Nox's floor, take Akuma and I, second story high." The key flashed black as a portal appeared beneath the duo and they fell through.

"I guess I forgot to mention that function of the Keys. Sorry." Gaël said as he descended to the floor gracefully.

"Oh, hello there Amelia Pond.What are you doing in the Polylithic Hall? This isn't your part of the keep."

@Stormyface

"Oh... useful. I, uh, thought the statues looked dusty, and the first person I found was her."

@Delacare

((As soon as I heard the name 'Amelia' I had my suspicions. If anyone else from Doctor Who shows up, I'll kill them and replace them with characters from an RP I manage on a different forum :) . Also, WHAT'S AMELIA BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST 5 MINUTES, CHASING A BUTTERFLY!?))

((She's been held by a surpisingly soft obsidian Nox remember? She's an extreme Whovian so everyone calls her "Pond" her last name is actually Crestwater))

"Quiet you. I was talking to Ms. Pond. Amelia?" He quirked an eyebrow dangerously.

The obsidian Nox released the girl from within the folds of her wings.

((Oooooh. Okay. I'll let Amy speak uninterrupted. Akuma looks like a kicked puppy, though. :(((( Wait, so Nox has just been giving her a really long hug, or... SHE'S A SNITCH!))

@Delacare

((yeah sry. My phone was like 30secs from a forced restart and I didn't want to run the risk.))

"M-master Gaël. I... would like to apologize for leaving my section of the Keep to visit with the statues. They rarely get live company so I thought-"

"Thought that you would just shirk your duties to fraternize with Noxs." She shrank at his words.

"Yes, I see." Gaël did,  in fact, see... That evefyone around him was looking a bit too smug.

"I sense that there is more to this."

@Stormyface

"Oh, leave her alone, Gaël. She's been very helpful, and if nothing else, the sooner you're done with her the sooner she can go back to whatever she was doing."

@Delacare

((Well, Akuma's allowed to act smug. I'm pretty sure if someone came over, Gaël would tell Akuma to act smug until that leave so as not to have the Keep lose face. Or at least that's what I've gathered, still putting together a psychological profile))

"Which was what exactly? Finding a way to get you out of all your clothes, Akuma?"

((you do have a point there.))

@Stormyface

"I..." Akuma sighed.

"Look, you just have to draw a line in the sand and say 'This is what I'm willing to put up with today.' I get that you're stressed, but using cheap allusions to sex in casual conversation isn't going to make me burst into tears and spout all my dark secrets. You want the entire story? Fine. I called her over to help me out with getting my own Steam account. Then I asked her to show me the armory because I had a good idea for home defense. Why not see the statues, too? Might as well, I would've found it wandering around anyway. Then the Nox statues were being rude so I jumped off the rail and cracked my skull and THAT'S IT. Yes, an above average girl was in rather close proximity to me, and yes, my hormones were going a bit above normal levels. But we most certainly did NOT have sex. I cannot be sure about her, but I had absolutely no plans for any liaisons, especially in a room LITERALLY FULL OF LIVING STATUES OF NOX. She'd probably find a way to retrieve the memory and pass it around the entire Pantheon!"

@Delacare

((But he's not telling the entire truth...))

Amelia openly gaped at Akuma in utter astonishment.

Gaël said nothing. He merely smiled as he drew an invisible circle with his hand and cut it horizontally; all the windows in the hall slammed shut. He cut the circle vertically; every windows was curtained. He reached out and grabbed the segmented circle; both sets of doors into the Hall slammed shut. He opened his hand and pushed the (still invisible) pieces away; there was a flash of darkness as he, Amelia and Akuma were transported outside the doors of the, now sealed, hall. Floating om the door was a shadow circle cut into 4 equal peices.

"You really should pay more attention Akuma. This Hall was sealed against anyone not carrying a Keep's Key. Amelia does not have nor has she ever had a key. She sought you out for the express reaaon of opening the door so that you could meet the "rude" statues. Which, if yoi hadn't commited suicide, would have let to something much worse than Nox passing around your sex tape." He waved Amelia away calmly. She curtsyed to Akuma then Gaël and left.

"We keep this hall locked for our security and for other's safety. The Hall itself is fine, but the Floor of Nox is dangerous. I'm sure that Amelia told you that they were likenesses of Nox. What I know she didn't tell you is the fact that those likenesses are flawed they capture and portray a single aspect of Nox seen through to eyes of lesser beings. They all lack the one thing that makes Nox so wonderful: compassion. They are villains, as most lesser beings see Nox ultimately being. Some of them are better than others and a few have perfected the art of appearing to care, but at their core they only care for themselves."

Akuma was rather disturbed by this information. Most especially by the fact that Amelia had read him and managed to coerce him into suggesting the trip to the Hall during a short tech support session. "But what would Amelia or the statues have to gain from this? My death is out of the question. Capture or ransom is out, too, unless they're unaware of my abilities, which I know Amelia is not."

Akuma paced the hallway.

"The only thing I can think of is their needing me for something they couldn't do themselves."

"Honestly, I cannot imagine what thos statues have planned, which, is why I should have told you about them BEFORE you stumbled upon them." He admitted.

"I would like you to know that whatever Amelia said or did, she meant it. The only thing she engineered was getting you into the Hall. Don't begrudge her her weakness. We mortals can be be easily swayed by greater powers."

@Stormyface

((There Gaël unknowlunknowingly contradicts himself.))

"Yes... mortals can be rather silly sometimes. All's well that ends well, at any rate. Is there anything else I need to be warned about?"

@Delacare

(('mortals', not 'you mortals'. He let it slip <_<))

Akuma was awoken by the sound of Ultimate Suffering.

He burst into the main hall, where Caine was standing. His suit was covered in blood and the desecrated corpses of the staff surrounded him.

"Hello, son."

Akuma summoned an axe, staring at his father with rage.

"Don't react so harshly. What? Are you mad because I killed all these mortals? Because I killed your 'friend'?"

He picked up one of the corpses by it's hair and flung it toward Akuma's feet.

"So what? Even if you kill me, there's a lot more of us--"
Caine's head went flying.

The roof was torn open. Legions of demons spewed forth from a dark rift in the sky.

"I AM THE DEMON KING, ASMODEUS! YOU PUT A HITCH IN OUR PLANS, DEMIGOD, BUT OUR INVASION IS FINALLY UNDER WAY!"

This was it. Akuma had lost his home, his friends, any chance of living a different life. The gods weren't responding. Nox couldn't afford to defend some keep in the wastes.

Akuma began tearing through the demonic hordes, killing dozens with each sweep of his scythe. He leaped into the air, placing a beam of energy to the string of a bow he had summoned. A blast as strong as an atom bomb decimated the army.

I have nothing left. Even if this is the will of the gods themselves, I will never back down. FOR I AM AKUMA, THE BANE OF--

Akuma rolled off his bed and hit the floor.

"Aaagh... not again."

@Delacare

((I was bored))

I finally moved on from this thread but then I realized DOOM would've been a much better choice for Akuma's introduction to the Internet. *sigh*

(I do not even know if you all are still here. If you ever return, I would just like to inform you that I did not die, or abandon you willingly. A few things happened that prompted other things to happen, and I was advised to retire from the world for a few months by people far more intelligent than I. I think I am better now, and I will find another threat to worm my way it. Thanks for the distraction you provided, and again - Sorry for just up and out'ing.)
