"Oh these statues don't move much. They are just stuck on replay. The only ones that are free to move around are the likenesses of Nox. Well all of them except one, but you don't want that one walking around." Amelia followed his gaze at the smaller statue. 


"There are statues of titans here,  but even those are on a loop. These statues were carved to capture a moment,  so that's all they do.  The likenesses of Nox are meant to give her a corporeal form that lesser being can comprehend. They are limited extensions of herself." Amelia smiled brightly and waved excitedly as all the Noxs became aware of their presence and a few even waved back.

He forgot how evil he was and he fell in love with me. I also wanted to make sure you weren't going to come between me and Lyker. I want to make sure you are still completely right in the head. That club was a heavy hitting thing, want to make sure you haven't gone crazy enough to fall in love with me." he summarized.

"Well if it isn't the little boytoy. Amelia why don't you be dear and bring him up here and introduce us?" A pink sandstone Nox clothed in tendrils of cloudy quartz darkness crooked her finger and nodded towards the staircase. She, like every statue in the hall,  was anatomically correct. Her modesty being preserved only by the slight opaqueness of the quartz. 


"Right away, Ma'am." Amelia drug him through the hall towards the stairs. 


"Tread softly. These Nox's may be only pertial respesentations,  but they're all connected to Her. Some of them will know you,  others won't, but all of them ARE Her." She whispered into his ear as they passed underneath a bronze pegasus caught in flight, a male pegasus.


"Tch, artists."

The Pegasus didn't faze Akuma. Much. He supposed if he had several lifetimes of memories in his head, he'd be bound to do some crazy nonsense. Besides, try balking at horse genetalia after the Destroyer comes waddling after you to grind you up, spit acid all over you, and defile your corpse.

Akuma stopped actively struggling and sort of plodded along after Amy.

"Hello Akuma, it's so nice of you to come visit me when I'm away." Said the sandstone Nox.


"So, this is the charming little half-demon god I've been hearing so much about. He is handsome." A Nox rendered in onyx to resemble the goddess Nut peered down from where she supported the ceiling on her back. 


"You can barely see the incubus in him,  but it's there. Enough to get all the girls flustered I'm sure." A marble Nox sitting on an emerald and sapphire Earth playing the silver crescent moon like a harp using strings made of diamond starlight. 


"I don't think I'd mind a little bit of fun with him." A Nox made from colored glass supporting a bowl of primordial stew. 


"Ladies please. That's enough.  We'll overwhelm the poor thing.  Look at his face." A Nox carved from a fallen branch of Yggdrasil, in it's likeness. 


"Norn Nox is right,  everyone. We only wanted to hello, Akuma. It's not everyday that Gaël builds Frostmourne Keep especially for a guest,  even such a unique specimen as yourself." A Nox composed of black opal stepped forth. She, like all the other Noxs, was unique in her form,  but most closely resembled Nox's current vessel. 


"As I'm sure you've guessed,  we are all forms that She's assumed throughout time. It really is nice to meet you. Gaël really enjoys your company,  even if he doesn't always show it." She smiled welcomingly and beckoned the two closer. 


"Go on you two. We won't bite!" Teased the obsidian Nox as she pushed them forward with her surprisingly feather soft wings. 


"Much." Stated the pink sandstone Nox and they all laughed in unison. Each laugh was unique but melded into each other perfectly creating a laugh distinctly Nox.

"Leave him be darling. He'll be back. There are questions in his mind that only Nox will be able to answer,  and while She is away We are all the Nox he's ever going to get." The other Noxs nodded in agreement.


Truly,  they only wanted to say hello. 


"You all can wait for him,  but I have more pressing matters." Out of the Shadows stepped a voluptuous Nox of black sapphire with a floating raiment of silk starry sky. 


"We know La Nuit. We wish you luck. Just remember the rules." The marble Nox warned as she tuned her harp. 


"But of course. À plus." She flew up into her rainment which proceeded to swoop and slither out of an open window and into the world.

As Akuma fell, he spied a swathe of black slithering out a window.

And then he died.

Akuma slapped his head, running back to the armor room. He pushed open the doors and shouted to the armor.


"All those of you that are human sized, patrol the keep! Don't interfere with the servants. Immobilize any hostiles you see. Larger armors, wait here until further instruction, or if the keep is attacked."


He stepped aside, allowing the armor to leave the room, then sighed in relief. He had no idea what he was preparing for, but better safe than sorry.
