Fantasy Welcome to the Pantheon (Reboot - Always Accepting!)

Amanda waved and smiled awkwardly. Were those birds judging her? That was a new low and Amanda had had many lows. Calcifer shot out of her pocket in excitement upon hearing the ravens' names. Then he sighed.

They're just really old birds, he thought, disappointed.

"Right, Jamie. Did you have anything to ask me?", Amanda said, whilst mentally comforting Calcifer.

((Oh, hey. Some time between homework, nice.))

The pair of ravens gave a human cough of disinterest at the sight of Calcifer. Huginn flapped up to Jamie's right shoulder while Muginn too to his left. Left both bobbed their heads in Calcifer's direction then put one eye each on Jamie.

"Really?" They questioned in unison. When had their little bird started hanging out with such a rambunctious crowd?

"What? She's not a bad influence. She makes me want to have fun." Jamie shrugged slightly.

"Mmhhmmm" said Muginn. "Whatever." said Huginn soon after. They weren't too sure about a ichor's child with one of Ilim's sparks.

'You better not let your brat get our Jamie into any trouble, cinder fly.' Huginn sent a telepathic message to Calcifer knowing he would hear it. 'We've waited too long for him for you all to mess things up now.' Muginn added in.

"Well since we've kinda let the cat out of the bag" Jamie said sheepishly, as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I think we should start with how we got our powers. Yeah?"

Akuma stumbled through the portal, back into the keep.

"Thank you, kind sirs! I'll put this knowledge to good use!" he called out to someone beyond the portal.

"You're welcome, just leave us alone now." they called back.

Akuma strolled into the main room.

"Oh hi, Gaël. I met these knowledge gods, they talked a lot about dark matter and how the world is composed of various spectrums and it was actually really interesting."

@Delacare

((Would Gaël happen to be related to the majordomo from Blood and Wine?))

"Welcome back, Master Akuma. I trust that your time in the outside world was entertaining as well as educational." Gaël bowed regally as the entire staff lined up in the foyer.

"Welcome back, Master Akuma." They voiced in unison and bowed.

((If you are referring to their funtions within an estate, yes.))

"Umm... Hi, everyone." Akuma shuffled awkwardly.

"At ease, I guess. I'll be honest, Gaël's probably going to be more strict than me, but I ask all of you to please inform me if anyone who isn't staff shows up. There are some... unsavory looking characters who may come calling."

@Delacare

((Sexually awkward guy gets powers and his own mansion, complete with staff and ninja butler (sort of). I think an anime's in the works here))

At his words,  the crowd dispersed and returned to work.

"We always alert the Lord of the Keep when someone comes to visit.  Let us not forget that Frostmourne is not exactly an easy place for the average mortal to find." Gaël approached Akuma calmly. As a thought passed his mind,  he checked his silver and sapphire pocket watch.

"Milord,  it is nearly noon. Would you care for a midday meal or tea?"

((yeah but Gaël is more Black Butler than ninja.  Just with a complete and total lack of sadism.))

"I think I will. Thank you, Gaël. Let's see... I don't really have a preference. Tell the cooks to surprise me."

((In my opinion, nobody lacks sadism, we simply need to put it to good use! *hands pamphlet for Deacons of Chaos*))

"Of course sir. Right away." He waved over a passing maid and wrote on a piece of paper from his pocket.  He handed her the note and she ventured down the hall, in the direction of the kitchens.

"If you'll follow me Milord, I'll take you to the dining hall."

((yeah,  no. He really is not that kind of guy, even though he has a whip. The idea of causing someone unnecessary pain makes him physically sick))

Akuma followed Gaël down the hall.

"Pretty impressive workforce. Are they all Nox's followers?"

@Delacare

((Nice kid. :3))

"Yes,  milord, so do not worry about hiding your divnity." Gaël stopped in front of a large double door decorated with etchings of cornucopias, fruits,  and vegetables.

"This is the minor dining. My apologies. The main dining hall is one of the rooms still being cleaned. I hope this small room is adequate." He opened the doors without fanfare.

@Stormyface

"It will do for today's purposes."

Akuma sat down at the head of the table.

@Delacare

((Fans of my work (like three people, heh... T_T) tend to have daddy issues. It's gettin' weeeird O_o))

Gaël nodded at his acceptance, before clapping his hands. A manservant rushed in with a tray. He placed a bowl before Akuma and filled it with heated and honeysuckle scented water. He then stood beside Akuma offering a towel for him to dry his hands with.

((He had to have daddy issues,  because mommy issues were just not feasible.))

@Stormyface

Akuma washed his hands. The water in the bowl clouded somewhat, due to the dusty times Akuma had been handing.

"Thank you kindly. One's personal hygiene has always been an elusive pursuit in one's profession."

@Delacare

((he's referring to himself as 'one' now :P))

@Stormyface

"Of course Milord." Gaël smiled as the manservant emptied the bowl and refilled it for another washing.

"For the noonday meal, the Chefs prepared watercress soup with filleted salmon."

"Excellent, excellent. Manservantes, please bring in the meal."

@Delacare

((Had to google image that. The salmon looks good, the soup looks like grass clippings dumped in water O_o))

@Stormyface

((I was struggling to think of a Victorian reminiscent meal. So deal with it))

The first manservant cleared the table before Akuma as a two other manservants brought in his meal. They placed it before him. There was only a soup spoon, knife and fork on the table; Gaël saw no point in overwhelming Akuma.

"I have picked a nicely aged Pinot Noir to accompany the salmon's flavor." The manservants placed two glasses. One filled with water, the other with wine.

"I hope that everything is to your liking."

((Ok back to work. My breaks over.))

Akuma had a sip of the lovely grass water.

"Exquisite. Marvelous."

He daintily popped the salmon into his mouth.

"A joy to behold. Refreshing."

@Delacare

((When I think of Victorian meals, I think of bread and meat. :P))

@Stormyface

"I am glad the food is to your liking. Is there anything else you require?" Gaël relaxed slightly; this haughty demeanour was easier to maintain.

((peasant meals. You are a noble.  You aren't supposed to have a real job or live below your status. You are supposed to be a social icon even if you are financially equal to the middle class. In Victorian Englad,  image is everything.))

(( @Almosegosum I didn't destroy Hitch's satellites specifically. They were just random satellites. There's a slight chance that one or two of them may have been yours tho.))

(Well then, that is good)

Hitch had been straining even his mind, trying to make sure that all the variables were taken into account. The plan was rather simple really, there was no way he could save the planet on his own, and it seemed that none of the other gods have really made any effort yet... it was unlikely that they would it seemed. Thus, he would take as much as he could towards the only place they could go... at least for now. He had a few bases set up on mars already, and a few people there already. It was a sort of bittersweet advent - give them the chance to finally become a true spacefaring civilisation... but it would serve as consolidation for the loss of their home. - No. There was still time. Ilim would do something... The glass in Hitch's hand cracked, drawing his attention. How... how could one stop fate... a capricious monster clothing itself in the fabric of civility to toy about with those she would inevitably eat with glee.  The glass shattered completely, the shards cutting into his hand, the whiskey burning the already bleeding lines. He sat back in his chair... staring at his hand in quiet contemplation. What if he had stayed human? would he have died... would they have cared if all of them died? The screen in front of him flickered to life and one of his higher ups looked urgently at him. "Sir! Beyonder BLUE and RED are offline. They seemed to have reentered Fourteen minutes ago - we have dispatched a recon team. Backup, 4 and 6 have been identified as being suitable for immediate deployment. We can launch in twenty hours." She looked at him, her eyes wide and waiting for his response. "prepare them, I shall take them up myself. (He noticed her notice his bleeding hand) Don't fret. The task at hand is vast... but I remain quietly confident, both in my own powers and that of my allies. I will be there in three hours." Hitch sighed and got up. Perhaps he should go to Olympus and see if he can find some more allies... what could one more bout of faith do?

He teleported towards Olympus, and made his way towards the bar. He hoped he might find someone of value there.

"Hmm... Mm... Not at the moment, I believe."

@Delacare

((of course, how could I forget myself. The noble line of Stormyface shall do whatever it takes to correct its mistakes))
