Yeah, I can definitely see the different applications of the two abilities. Aurelia could feed the team all sorts of information that would be useful for developing an overall strategy, while Vanessa is more about being decisive in the moment. We'll just have to see what Cresion says.
Hi!! To the new RPers!!
Welcome to the RP! We offer you a seat but all you need is the Edge(y)!! Antisocialists Unite!! Lol
Yeah so for Tony he a good dude. Flippant and easygoing and gives enough of a shit to be a good team mate.
Remus is like still joining up and getting over blowing up half a city block (and Rai lol) but he making up for it as a tepid, timid teammate but a good one too.
Then there's Rai... Like I pushed her into this "life-altering trauma" arc so I could cut off some of her edge after facing the big bad basket-case muduo. So like now: She realizes she been saved by Tony, Remus bought her fave cigs as apology and she visiting with her estranged baby sister so she gunna have a change of heart
Imma swap out: Do it myself and Blind hate of enemy (cuz she can't do it herself and she actually got shook by basket case muduo)
Then put: Reluctant to give praise and Holds a torch for old Squad (cuz at least she thinking about others and I posted where she constantly alludes to her old Squad.)
Cuz I want Rai to finally give in to peer pressure and SAVE THE WORLD!! too lol
K so like it's all goods. Rai played part of the sneaky assassin type in her old Squad. It's just this time around there was no leader telling her to stop trying to beat up everything she encounters. lol So if you wanna do up a bruiser then all goods by me!
Also!
I can't wait for Maverick to annoy everyone at least once with something sarcastic. He's just tired and says something off-handedly. Then Rai just jump kicks him.
Plans within plans and all that. Obviously.
Meh. Actually her little bro was quite similar to Mavericks attitudes and outlook. She would just use her telekinetic claw to cuff him upside the head and pretend like she didn't know what was up. But now she kinda' blames herself for his death...
...but like maaaaaaaaaybe after the 47th sacrastic comment from Maverick she won't blame herself for another death lol...
Make sense. As much as I joke around about Maverick, it’s going to be a lot less chaotic with him in it IC. I just like playing him up OOC for fun haha!
Will he get to 47 sarcastic comments? Depends how long he’ll be on the team. He is supposed to be the occasional troublemaker with a focus on nonchalance more than anything. I’ll have to figure out how much trouble he should cause once in a while. Maybe he’ll make a mock impression of everyone on the team for everyone’s amusement, one at a time, one month at a time. You don’t know what he’s capable of.
Well he likes pizza so he should be cool with Tony.
I had this annoying charrie that used to make crappy sock puppets of other teammates and would annoy them with stupid voices cuz lol me. Even picked out common sayings of theirs. She got left behind accidentally on purpose when the helicopter came to get them... so I see you lol
And for sure. All goods. And like Rai can be a bitch but I'm all good with adjusting my posts if it too much for peeps k? I know where the edit button lives
LMAOFill I just realized the image at the bottom of your posts is Deadpool. I’m not really a superhero person, but I think it does reveal a bit about your taste in characters, haha.
Haha, I get it. There’s no shame in liking what you like, anyway. If you worry too much about what other people think, you never have any fun. Kinda brings to mind my old discord avatar of this obnoxiously kawaii anime fox girl…LMAO
That’s from a long time back. I still like those characters but that’s not all I have up these sleeves! I got taste for days! Totally!
I’m too lazy to change it now haha
If you two can come to a consensus on what roles your characters will play and think that's enjoyable then I'm just going to let you do your things, I tend to not interfere too hard on character dynamics unless it could break the plot further down the line or if the players themselves are having arguments.Yeah, I can definitely see the different applications of the two abilities. “Uh command? She knows where the edit button is! Move him to the safe house now!”
K so yeah I'll just edit in a spoiler then.It depends
If it's just her doing her stuff alone you're free to do whatever, but if you want to share info or do things involved with interacting with the other characters it's best to wait until I reconverge us again.
"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don't have penis, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills..." *uses best Liam Neeson voice*
Realization: Rai is just a female Visionary Liam Neeson.
Luden is not a doctor or PhD holder there is absolutely zero reason to refer to him as a Dr. His title is "Chief of Operations" and formalities generally is "Chief Luden".Protective Ward:No. As much as she respects Dr. Luden, Vanessa succeeds on her own merits, or not at all.
In terms of her ability, Vanessa was very much a late bloomer. Until the age of ten, she lived in an ordinary suburban neighborhood and was given an ordinary suburban upbringing alongside her younger sister by her loving- if achievement oriented- parents. Her father was a doctor at a local clinic and her mother worked as a bank teller. This mundane existence was shattered when a Muduo broke into their home, revealing Vanessa as a Slate. In the aftermath they were forced to relocate to a housing development in the shadows of Misthart tower as her parents sought new employment and she and her sister were enrolled in a new, government sponsored school.
In that case Monday so long as your cool with it we can just stick with our characters as is, since we seem to be playing them in separate roles. I love the image of having 2 insanely smart people, but one focuses on the preparation behind missions while the other deals with the issues as they happen. If you two can come to a consensus on what roles your characters will play and think that's enjoyable then I'm just going to let you do your things, I tend to not interfere too hard on character dynamics unless it could break the plot further down the line or if the players themselves are having arguments.
Shoot, my bad. I guess I didn’t read everything as thoroughly as I thought. I’m on mobile right now, so I’ll fix this as soon as I have computer access. Would it work to make Vanessa’s parents employees of Misthart from the start?Luden is not a doctor or PhD holder there is absolutely zero reason to refer to him as a Dr. His title is "Chief of Operations" and formalities generally is "Chief Luden".
So uhh, bank tellers don't exactly exist in a suburban environment. Mistol does have a basic currency and banking system but it is generally confined to the center area. City and urbanization doesn't exactly work like it does irl, the further out you go the further civilization..."crumbles" per say. For example people in the Blue Markets often work off of bartering or personal reputation/favours as their economic system. Generally the further out you go the more nomadic/tribal/post apocalyptic the world would get, your average North American suburb wouldn't really exist and it's equivalent would be a cluster of chaos with minor habits picked up from a somewhat functional government.
Also most schools as we know it as irl modern people that systematically teaches knowledge and grades people would already be sponsored by Misthart. Outside of that it's usually homeschooling, being brought up by the local crazy person or illiteracy.
Other than that everything seems fine, just want to clear up some minor misconceptions on how..."normal" this world is. Because it's really not.
Yeah, I can see Vanessa soliciting information from Aurelia in preparation for missions, or before engaging an enemy. I’m sure she has a mental database of past encounters with Muduos, and might be able to point out any unique characteristics, or dos-and-don’ts for specific encounters. Also, I don’t know if you intended to play her as a gadgeteer, but since she works for the Research Department she might have access to special equipment, if you like that idea. (Though obviously you would need to keep the Cold-War era tech level in mind and be sure to ask Cresion what actually exists.)In that case Monday so long as your cool with it we can just stick with our characters as is, since we seem to be playing them in separate roles. I didn't intend for it actually, but I do love that idea! I'll just need to think about some ideas for what she could have in this setting. Also, I don’t know if you intended to play her as a gadgeteer, but since she works for the Research Department she might have access to special equipment, if you like that idea. K yeah good plan cuz I hinted at getting hand held walkies for the squad and the boss showed us pics of rare backpacks made out of giant communication potato tech lolI didn't intend for it actually, but I do love that idea!
