Terry gently touched Saige's hand as he pondered her words. She still seemed very set on being a part of this society, despite the danger. That was just like her, he supposed; she was the bravest person he knew, persisting in her ways even though she had full knowledge of the risks. It was something to be admired, to be sure, but he sometimes worried about her well-being. She was strong, but she wasn't invincible.

With that being said, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt as she reluctantly agreed to defer to his judgement. He felt as if he was taking something away from her. Was he doing the right thing, or was he simply acting out of selfish fear? Usually with Saige he could be perfectly honest with his emotions, but at that moment, he was caught up in a wave of uncertainty.

So he did something really stupid. He relented.

Terry sighed. "Alright, maybe...maybe we don't have to go. At least not right now. We have some time to think about it anyway, see how things work out. But...just promise me you'll be careful, okay?"

*She raised from her large, heavily decorated throne. Bastilla smiled at the sight of her beloved little one, as soon as possible, she picked up Alondra and hugged her tightly; followed by a kiss to the forehead. The mysterious man was much for her to study, considering he was with her beloved and entered camp without my say-so. He looked rather docile, not the usual nutty raider. Bastilla circled him slowly, extending her arm across his shoulders and chest.*

"Tell me, stranger, your name? What brings you to Blackwood?"

*She faced him with her club clutched in her fist at her side*

Saige's eyes lit up with hope. This once, she had won. Usually it took more than that to get him to relent, but here they were. She tiptoed up and kissed his cheek.

"I promise. You know me, always the cautious one."

She winked at him and then grabbed his hand, "What do you say we go look around some more?"

She had time now. Time to convince him this was a good place, despite the flaws. She could make it work though, she always did. And in time, he would see things the way she did. At least she hoped he would.

Goras & illuta

Goras and Illuta did look but the more they looked the more he did realize that he wasn't needed her these people they would prosper they did not need a knight and if they truly had a pack on their side harboring one of another pack would only hurt them. illuta could stay but these were not her people either of course the vault dwellers weren't either it made the two of them similar one that did not fit into this time and another that did not fit into her race. At least the humans didn't approaching they may have a deal with the deathclaws but even then it would be folly to get close to them.

" It seems these people do not have need of a guide or knight they will have good lives " Goras mumbled to no one really

" You no need them we go places you my knight" Illuta said only to receive a odd grumbling that she realized was a chuckled once a clawed hand lightly patted her head.

" Yes that much is true we two do not belong except to each other it would seem two displaced beings perhaps we will find our own home" Goras said with as close to a smile as he could manage.[/color]

Shane had not appreciated the face tugging, however, it reminded him of life before the Vault, whenever there was a family reunion, Aunt Lorraine had torn his cheeks new proportions with that. He chuckled a little at the flashback, but soon enough pulled himself away when the word's "Entertained by Town's women" was heard. "S-sorry, I'm not interested, thanks for the offer", Shane stammered in reply coyly as he snaked back to beside Terry and Saige. He stood aside as the two had their moment talking to each other, obviously feeling the side of a third wheel. "I uh, I'm gonna go walk around, If there's a casino or a caravan area I might be able to fetch us some extra caps", he chirped with a slight smile. With his case in his left, he waved with his right as he proceeded to walk into the middle of the settlement, reaching to a bartender as he asked for a bottle of Nuka and asked for the nearest direction to a gambling area with Caravan inside. When given the directions, ignoring the stares, he opened up his amazed lock case and pulled out his dad's deck, smirking as he flipped a few caps around and proceeded to walk in the casino with his case in his left and a bright smirk of luck on his face. They had just left a vault and witnessed a new world, currently Shane has nothing to lose, so he's feeling a bit lucky today.

"My name's Darren and the only reason I'm hear is because Alondra found herself alone, and well it'd be wrong to leave her alone," Darren slowly made a smile trying to show that he was no threat. He had run into small bands of riffraff before, always carrying pipes and baseball bats, he didn't really like them but on the other hand these were the first set of those people who didn't make the fatal mistake of trying to bash his head in. "You know I've been around here for quite a while but I never made the pleasure of meeting you people," Darren said, he was curious of these people and their society he had never thought a village would be so close to him.

*The casino was buzzing with activity; from fancy dressed people, to Tribals, to even a few bandits were in the old pre war casino were slamming slots and dealing cards. The Caravan area was small, it seemed not to be as popular in Blackwood. Games called; Liars dice, blackjack, and roulette were popular. Although, a female sat at a table, dealing herself cards and testing her own strategies. Pre-war tunes played over the loud speaker.*

@Riven

"You've not heard of the Insurgency? We took this town once upon time, from the raiders and degenerates who lived within it. We slaughtered them, their leaders; scorched over a bed of hot coals and fed to the low lives in the sewers. We do that to people... but you..."

*She nudged with the end of the bat.*

"Thank you for saving my little one, for this i shall reward you... since you have an independent feel about you, what would suffice for saving Alondra?"

Shane had looked around and found the area for caravan a bit empty, disappointing, the only person was a lone girl checking out her play style. He shrugged, "A game is a game." He walked over and sat at the opposite side of the table, shuffling his hand. He pulled into his pocket a handful of caps, bout 50, and laid them on the table, "50 caps, minimum bet, up for a game?"

@SaintRaven367

*She looked at Shane curiously, as if she didn't understand him. By the number of caps, she'd have to be stupid to know he wasn't betting for a game. A game of Caravan. The woman reached in her pocket and grabbed a wad of pre-war dollar bills and dealt cards.*

"Untranslatable" She said astounded.

Darren looked around the hut and smiled. "I don't want anything that you could have, nothing you could have would really interest me. Thank you for the offer though," Darren said with a happy tone. Taking a step away from Bastilla he was about to turn and leave but stopped himself and said,"I wouldn't mind staying for a day or two, I just remembered that I have some things to look for in the area, if that's completely fine with you."

@SaintRaven367

*Bastilla nodded her head slowly and sighed heavily. It seemed like she was giving homes to everybody today, free shelter. Of course there was room, but she could not have her town be rumored of hand outs. Then again, this guy was well worth rewarding for his service in saving Alondra. After sitting in her throne and crossing her legs she beckoned,*

"Of course, wanderer, you shall have a room open for you in the casino, along with any comfort you'd like... but everything else, your caps purse is mercy too."

Alondra had climbed up into Bastilla's lap and watched the interaction between her and Darren. She smiled up at the woman when she realized that she was going to allow Darren to stay. For the short time she had known him, she had grown to like Darren. He had drive, and wasn't a half bad fighter either. As she sat in Bastilla's lap she played with the many trinkets and things that surrounded her throne. She technically wasn't supposed to touch it, but Bastilla had never actually gotten mad at her for it. Allie was surprised that she wasn't mad at her for running off from the supply group. Or maybe she was just waiting for Darren to leave before scolding her.

Terry smiled resignedly. "Alright, alright," he agreed. "We'll take another look around." He still doubted whether there was much to redeem the shantytown, but he had been wrong before. He still wanted more information on the Insurgents, to see how the place was governed. But was this sort of duplicitous intention really warranted? The townspeople had been mostly friendly to them, and such a manipulative spirit was not according to what he had learned at the chapel. This he knew in his mind, of course, but Terry felt no conviction whatsoever - whether because of his instinct or simply because it was his nature he could not be sure.

When one of the townspeople, a man covered in tattoos, walked up to the pair, Terry saw a key opportunity to find out more about their hosts. But he didn't want to offend Saige by making a crafty request to see their hidden caches or something. "Er, what do you think?" he asked her, deciding to take a back seat for the time being.

Goras& illuta

Goras and Illuta had not left the city instead he had come up with an idea but he needed the leader of these peoples aid for that to work out. He couldn't stay because he was not of the pack that claimed this area, but he could be or rather he could become the alpha. Deathclaws worked just like any pack the Alpha lead them though strength and even a rouge like Goars could challenge him and fight to the death. If Goras had been female he could have joined with little problem but males were always a problem in the animal kingdom which even deathclaws were part of. So that was the plan find the den and challenge the Alpha to battle while it might be tough Goras was clever so even a stronger deathclaw could fall to him if he was smart and swift enough. It was not a hard feat to get directions from the locals when they did not flee at his appearance and really it shouldn't surprise him given now tribal's tended to arrange their cities .

With a nod and a smirk, he laid down his own cards and prepared to play. He looked at his dad's lucky "Ace of Spades" a last time before beginning to play. He slipped a little wad of prewar currency and set his first hand.

@SaintRaven367

Saige smiled sweetly at the gentleman who approached them. He was covered in tattoos, which was a little surprising to her but not anything that bothered her. Saige herself had never been able to get any tattoos because of her job. It wasn't necessarily banned, but it definitely was frowned upon in her line of work.

"Um," she turned to look at Terry, "should we go get our sleeping arrangements taken care of? I know Bastilla said she wanted to see us before sundown too..."

She could tell he wanted her to make the decision but Saige felt he should take this one. After all, he was staying for her. Might as well let him make the rest of the choices while they were here.

*He waved toward him and began to stroll five minutes or so to the district of houses for visitors. It was above ground and set up as many duplexes. The man pointed at the one to the far left that stood idle. It was just a little nicer looking then the others around it, a little bigger too. It was conveniently close to Bastilla's large tent and the Bazaar area.

"It has four bed, two bathroom, a study, and your other needs. I'm required not to accompany you inside, for I'm not allowed, but once you settle in, i'll await outside to take you for food and drink."

"Seems like a good idea," Terry agreed, before following their guide to the collection of houses. They were a little more impressive than the tents and cobbled-together abodes around them, so he figured that they were intended for guests. He peeked through the doorway. It seemed rather roomy. Even he had to admit that it was a pretty extravagant place to stay - compared to their measly rooms back at the vault.

"Tell me something, uh, Jeff," Terry said to their guide. "Mind if I call you Jeff? How do you guys operate? I mean, who gives you orders? Does everything come directly from Bastilla? What happens if someone wants to...have a change in command?"

*He stood more upright and cleared his throat.*

"Mad'am Bastilla is our leader, she leads us through the cruelty of the wasteland. She gave us somewhere we are safe and excluded from the ongoing wars. Commandment under Bastilla, is known as Sol; He is our general. Under him, is Nadia, our War bride."

*He pointed down to the main court yard, among all the people, they were easy to pick from a crowd.*

(In case your wondering of the short responses, these characters i'm playing are non important and they dont require much opinion.)

((Dies laughing because 'Jeff' is what my dad's been calling me all day))

Saige's eyebrows flew up in surprise as they entered the room. The space was huge compared to their rooms back in the Vault. Four bedrooms? Two bathrooms? This was like heaven. She wandered around the space, quietly listening in to the conversation Terry was having with...Jeff.

She frowned as she realized what her boyfriend was doing. Disguised as simple curiosity, Terry was trying to infiltrate these people...their way of life. Which wouldn't bother her so much if it wasn't for the fact that she was so taken with them. She exited the room and returned to Terrry and "Jeff".

Terry nodded slowly as he considered the new information. It seemed that the town hierarchy was mainly comprised of military officials. So were the rankings determined by one's performance in war? Or by some sort of one-on-one style combat? In any case, the two underlings were probably the best wedges to drive into the political machine. The young man wasn't really sure what he wanted, to be perfectly honest. But he knew that having a friend in high places could definitely smooth things if they chose to settle with the Insurgents. Besides, perhaps he could find out a little information as to the inner workings of the town, see what their true motivations were.

"Alright, let's head on over, Jeff," Terry decided. "Can you introduce me to one of them? The commander first, if possible."

Goras & Illuta

Goras quickly found the building he was directed to though apparently the leader was in a meeting of some kind. He however was not exactly going to brother to wait his turn as he had an offer and a threat. he wanted to help , yes but should they not like his idea he would not pursue it but he would then have to go with another idea he had which meant there would be much completion between here and what he would do.

Walking into the throne room despite the guards protests Goras did find the apparent leader. it was the woman so that did mean she had to be a great warrior given this type of settlement like this would attract lots of attention.

" I apologize for interrupting your meeting but I have come up with an urgent matter no human has realized must be addressed soon, and an offer " he said drawing to the full height as she spoke as like many deathclaws he tended to slouch.

@SaintRaven367

*'Jeff' threateningly stepped in front of Terry with Terry's nose in the chest of the Tribal. He huffed and looked at Saige then turned to her instead.*

"You tell your beau, that he can do what of his... 'gifted' time here as he will as long as it's nothing of the laws here. The commander at all times is approachable, for he is the one to manage the town stead. I'm here to help, I'm not here to introduce u to people. Sol knows of your comings.... my name is not Jeff."

*He walks out the duplex slamming the door behind him.
