*The girls attitude was bold and strong. She bristled in leadership and confidence. This she could admire, but this Vault. No way possibly is it completely... inoperable. She had to hope, still; having the Vault itself would be a valuable outpost. No matter this. She would make use of these people, give them courtesy and learn more. Bastilla glanced at the boy on the ground, she strutted at him and crouched at his side. She grabbed his face by his cheeks and squeezed them.*

"And this boy must be the lover, eh?"

*Bastilla glanced at Saige over her shoulder. She gently smacked Terry's face and walked to the other boy who was at his side. She looked back and started toward Saige.*

"Where are th -- "

*She stopped herself and took a deep breath. Bastilla waved her men off and they all lowered their weapons; stepping to Saige, she dusted her off and spoke loudly.*

"We shall give you three homage tonight, but tomorrow, as you are welcomed to stay, I'm afraid you'll not be on the house and will pay for my homes services. Tonight, we will give you our hospitality. Courtesy to the nightmare of a world you've left to discover."

"We thank the warning great beast, may we offer anything to thee? Courtesy of our hospitality, we'd be honored to tribute something.*

*The Tribal picked his weapon back up and sheathed it. The Insurgency bowed at once to Goras and quickly raised upright. They began backing up from the Dwellers and assisted them up. Bastilla approached the beast and bowed also. She spoke confidently.*

"I welcome you to Blackwood, mighty one. Be the first of your kind to feast with us."

Saige breathed a sigh of relief. They would be safe, for tonight at the very least. She stepped over to Terry and offered a hand to help him up. Once both boys were back on their feet, Saige turned to face the woman, "Thank you." Her eyes lowered to the ground as she gave a tiny dip of her head. In the moments that had passed, Saige had found a deep respect for the woman. "I'm afraid I never got your name." She said as she walked back over to her.

Goras&Illuta

Well at least these people were respectful if a bit ill equipped and savage compared to a few he had seen, but this was but a scant 20 years not the 200 he had come from. This was however a good time to make use of what he had found in the vault the vast hoard of supplies for thousands for hundreds of years.

" I shall join you but give and take is the law of the land if you give me something I must give you something as well. " he said pulling out in front of him " Now while this girl may not look it she is from a vault one that is in the cave inside you shall find something that shall be helpful" he said if only to explain why he would give then knowledge of such a vast store of food.

Illuta yelped slightly when she was pushed forward and talked about . " Yes there lots of stuff I no go back I with Goras I go with him you can have " she said nodding.

"I am Bastilla. We are the Insurgency of Suffolk."

*The insurgents started toward the town. Bastilla began leading the group, stepping over rocks and blasted dead trees. In the moments of silence, she began thinking on how'd she go about these Dwellers, surely, they'd be helpful to her. Maybe even a productive piece of Blackwood. The thoughts seance'd in her head, until they reached the front gate, equipped with 2 towers and an catwalk. The heavy car-fortified door pulled apart slowly with the sound of scraping metal screaming in the sky. Inside, was the moderately busy streets of Blackwood. Many of the civilians were obvious tribal's and they did their hobbies. Some sat around fires and laughed, others cooked, some played games and did other normal things. A few heads stood out; some dressed as if they were from a very wealthy place, some looked rough looking, a few looked like independent mercs. It was freelance. The Insurgency was mainly armed with; finely-made makeshift weapons, bows and arrows, and other items, but they had firepower and many guns. They only used them in states of emergency. She looked at the Dwellers and raised her arms.*

"Welcome... to my home."

Darren sighed and walked his cart to the side of the road and turned back towards the little girl. "Atleast you aren't whiny," Darren said pulling the laser rifle his back and taking a fusion cell from his pocket. With a distinct click the cell clicked into rifle,"Where were they the last time you saw them, and god forbid don't tell me you were raised by mutants," Darren ended his sentence with a small chuckle.

Allie rolled her eyes, "Hell no," she said. Cursing was a rather extensive part of her vocabulary, which only made sense considering where she was coming from. "I'm apart of The Insurgency." She held her head up with fierce pride as they walked, her face paint smearing with sweat. "As for my group, they probably headed home. It's not far, but I don't think it's a good idea for me to walk home alone." She looked up at him and realized what she had said, "Not that I can't take care of myself or anything. I'm a really good fighter and Bastilla tells me that one day I could be as good of a warrior as she is."

"Don't go around saying stuff like that, there will always be someone or something bigger and stronger than you, but I suppose your tougher than the average little girl," Darren said with a sly smile. "So which direction are we going, oh and I never got your name, little one," Darren said, he wasn't sure of what to make of this. It had been at least a month since he had run into anyone and more than a year he's heard of any groups of people. Let alone groups with designated warriors, though he liked his rifle a lot he'd lower himself to a firm fist if need be.

"This way," Allie called as she picked up the pace, running just a little ahead of him. "I'm Alondra, or Allie, whichever you prefer." Her small feet slowed against the pavement and she found herself keeping pace with the man. "And who are you? We've certainly never seen you before, and we've been using this as a supply area for as long as I can remember - which isn't very long but still."

The little girl tucked a stray piece of dirty blonde hair behind her ear and adjusted her belt as they walked. This man certainly seemed nice enough and she doubted he would hurt her. It was usually the mutants who tried to harm her and the other children, not settlers. Granted, there weren't many children in The Insurgency. She was one of about twenty or so in the little Blackwood suburb. They were a tight knit group, just like the rest of the tribe. The Insurgency was a family and the children didn't just belong to their parents, everyone in the town got a say in how they were raised. It was a good way to grow up, it gave her a sense of community and hospitality. So, despite her attitude, Alondra did her best to treat the man, her elder, with as much respect as she could muster.

Darren sniffed at the air and said,"It's Darren, do you smell that?" The smell of disgust filled Darren's nose, he didn't know what it was but he couldn't stop himself from wandering where it was coming from. With a slow and deep breath Darren turned his head to the right,"We need to get off the road, now," Darren whispered slowly as he lowered himself and made his way off the road.

Shane had remained quiet through the entire dispute, regardless of have been knocked down and helped would be up. He was hoping this would turn out good, they needed friends who were experienced with the outside world, as people fresh out of a vault locked away for years, they needed people to help them find a way around this desolate wasteland. A group of Insurgents were possibly what Shane thought would've been a great asset, better than some bloodthirsty raiders anyhow. With the arrival of a Deathclaw however, a SENTIENT Deathclaw for the matter, it seems things may have gotten better for the new batch of wastelanders. It seemed everything was going great for the first day out, surely things will most likely get worse from here. "Its's suggested we should get some things to defend ourselves with, doesn't feel much safe out here without anything in your hands", Shane replied coyly, he wouldn't doubt it if Saige or Terry wouldn't trust him with a gun, wouldn't matter anyways, he'll only use it for nothing more than for defense. It perhaps might be best if he kept his skills of using a gun or a knife behind his skills with a Pipboy.

Terry slowly paced around the room, eyes scanning for something - anything - that would give him an advantage. Perhaps a weapon, or a sentimental token that would allow them to glimpse into the psychology of their...hosts. He sincerely doubted that the Insurgents were as friendly as their leader claimed to be. For all he knew, they could be cannibals. The young man's eyes darted quickly to the Deathclaw, as it had been called. For such a frightful beast, the Insurgents seemed to be very welcoming to it. Terry didn't like the idea of having a monster this close to him and Saige, but he wasn't about to speak up to object.

The boy looked at the mercenaries with an expression of boredom, masking the inner workings of his mind. There was no possible way they could escape, if they had to. He wasn't sure if he trusted Shane, but he definitely seemed more reliable than the armed soldiers and the gargantuan beings around them. Then again, there was something to be said about a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Terry rubbed his hands in excitement. Things were getting interesting.

Saige eyes were upturned to the sights above her as they entered the town. Huge works of construction surrounded them on all sides, built off of buildings of all shapes and sizes. She was stunned. The Vault had always been nothing but sleek steel and chrome, no decoration, practically devoid of color...but this world was so different. Everything was vibrant and beautiful, sure, things were a little run down here and there but nonetheless it was incredible. Her hand fumbled around and grabbed Terry's as they walked, squeezing it with her own cold hand.

"It's amazing, isn't it?"

As they entered the room, her eyes wandered around it. There were catwalks stretching across the high ceilings and people had gathered to watch them. She grinned as a few small children from above waved down at their little group, her attention however was returned to the matters at hand when Shane spoke. She nodded along in agreement, "Definitely. I have a pistol, but it's not much and once I'm out of ammo that's it. We don't mean to overextend your hospitality and we'd be willing to pay, if necessary."

*Not many people marveled at what Bastilla had, so seeing the reaction of the Dwellers to her home was beyond heart warming. These people seem innocent, amateur, and ultimately fresh into this horrific world. Their fates begin here. She hoped Blackwood gave them what they wished and offered it a home to them. She turned to Saige quickly backing up into the square of town. She insisted,*

"Not to worry, tonight, you may see what the town has to offer you. You shall be fed, entertained, and sheltered. We will see about putting you to use, so you can get caps to continue on with... or even make homeage here..."

*The boys were more cautious then Saige, she would be sure to see to this. We will loosen them up to Blackwood. Bastilla couldn't have imagined what life was like in those vaults. So much safer, so oblivious to what goes on out here... it almost made her angry... envious. She never had this before. SHe pulled herself out of her demeaning thoughts to Terry.*

"The men... shall be comforted, by the towns women."

*SHe gently grabbed Shane's cheek and turned to Saige once more as she grabbed Terry's cheek roughly.*

"With the exception of your mate, of course."

*She stepped up onto a large podium that stood 4 feet high, sort of modeled like president box. The Natives began to gather near the center of town. Slowly, but surely.*

"Any questions?"

Alondra's brow furrowed as the scent of rotting flesh filled her nostrils, a scent all too familiar to her and her people. "Ghouls." Her hand reached for the blade tucked away in her belt as she backed into an alleyway with the man, Darren. Her eyes flickered around their surroundings anxiously. They could be anywhere. Her breathing became heavy, nostrils flaring with each exhale. The clattering of trash bins caught her attention as she turned.

"Behind you!"

Her shrill voice echoed off the buildings walls as she watched in horror. The ghoul had taken home in the small alley. To it, they were trespassers. The monsters jumped from behind the bin, heading straight for Darren.

Terry winced and pulled away from the touchy woman. She gave him the creeps, playing with him like a cat plays with its prey. Though to be honest, he wasn't terribly surprised by the town's policy on...female hospitality. He supposed that he should have been horrified, or at least troubled, but the idea, while distasteful, made sense in such a post-apocalyptic society. If this was the vault, and he was still a chaplain, then he would probably be moved to do something about the practice, but at the moment, he was willing to sit back. At least for now.

In any case, he didn't like the idea of staying in the town for longer than they would have to. The ex-chaplain had plenty of caps in his bag - maybe it would be enough to pay off their debts. If so, he wanted to head out as soon as possible. There was simply too much danger here. Then again, if they stuck around, perhaps they could learn about the laws of the wasteland, and with a few honey-dipped words, use their situation to their advantage.

Terry raised his hand, putting on a distinctively innocent face, like a child in school. "I have a question, miss!" he said with practiced excitement. "This little town you've built here looks so cool! Could you show us around? I mean, with as many warriors as there are, you must have tons of loot, right?"

Saige smiled at Bastilla, awkwardly grateful that her boyfriend wouldn't become a sex toy. Her excitement began to decline though as she realized that the boys didn't seem quite as interested as she did. They both seemed overly cautious, and while Saige was worried too, she didn't think there was any reason to reject these people's hospitatility.

Saige liked them, for all it was worth. These were people who she could connect with. They were brave and brilliant, the fact that they had taken this rinky-dink suburb and turned it into this incredible town was amazing to her. Their people were fighters, like her, and Bastilla reminded her so much of herself, of the kind of leader she wanted to be.

Her reverie was once again broken by Terry, who was behaving...oddly. She could easily detect the faux excitement in his voice and her brow furrowed as he asked to see their "loot". What the hell was he planning on doing? Surely he wasn't going to steal from these people?

@kaito9049 @SaintRaven367 @Riven

*Bastilla glared at Terry hard, whilst he innocence was seemingly misplaced by something sinister. She then turned to Shane and Saige shrugged at them. Bastilla grabbed Saiges hand and began show casing Blackwood. It came equipped with; A large bar, a few food shanties that served different things, many tents that served as homes, a medic area, crafting area, a forge, and much much more. She shown an area for guests, which were shacks made from parts and spare materials, the houses being stacked on top of each others. There are about 10 and they're on the same side of town. "These are the homes of outsiders." Many common women were seen in robes or slightly revealing clothes, depending on their service. Women had beautifully cut and braided hair, men were slightly scary or unfriendly looking, some handsome and sculpted, others who were covered in ink and had piercings. Kids even had tattoos. Harlots and drugs were a common scene. Also, prayer, chanting, and laughter were another. It was Bastilla's haven.

"I shall leave you to it... see me in my tent within sun's setting. Enjoy yourselves."

*Bastilla walked off, they were left in the middle of the town. Insurgents began looking at them curiously, a boy even walked up to Shane and touched his boots, which were cleaner and more kept then what he's seen. Men began looking over there shoulder at Saige. Many of the harlots beckoned at Terry.*

(I'm going to play random insurgents while the Dwellers converse with each other. I'll play just random townspeople until they meet up with Bastilla.)

Goras

Goras followed the humans to their settlement he had invited them to partake in the abandoned vaults supplies but they had not listened it seemed so it was their loss, those supplies would one day nurture someone or be spread out across the wastes. he knew many things about the wastes but this place he knew almost nothing about what would happen to this place. Well it would be like any other place in the wastes raiders and suffering but there was always hope in time. The town could be a haven but this would not be his home he had a fate to find and it was not here. So Goras fell further and further back getting more and more distance between him and the group Illuta of course came with him she had chosen to stay with him not her own kind. He might be welcome but he was not of the pack they had saved it was best if her left before that caused conflict so when he felt there was enough distance he turned and started heading back the way he came planning to exist the city and continue to search.

Saige marveled at the city as Bastilla took her hand and led her through. There was so much to see and do, despite this place supposedly being a "wasteland". These people were thriving, growing, and it was amazing. She had never seen such community, especially not in the Vault. In there, it was a "fend for yourself" attitude, at least it had been for her.

As Bastilla turned to leave, Saige caught her hand. The girl smiled at the older woman, "Thank you, Bastilla. This...it's incredible."

Saige released her hand and watched the leader go. She turned to Terry, a brilliant smile spread across her face, "Come on! Let's see what the city has to offer." She took his hand and began rushing through the town, pausing at almost every tent, tasting as much food as she could. She was in awe of this place, it was almost perfect.

After some time she stopped and turned to Terry.

"Don't you love it? This place...it's amazing. I don't see why we couldn't settle here?" She bit her lip, staring up at him with hopeful eyes.

As the group was led around the town, Terry had to suppress a smirk. So far, things were going well; he had a mental map of their surroundings, and where the best supplies were. He was a little surprised that they hadn't been disarmed, but he supposed that the Insurgents figured that there were enough of them to handle a few young Vaulties. They were probably right, but Terry needed their hosts to underestimate them...him. This was where Terry thrived: not in a classroom or on a sparring mat, but surrounded by potential enemies, weaving a mixed thread of complements and guarded threats - all for the protection of the group.

Speaking of which, Terry was more than a little bothered at some of the glances Saige was getting. It was obvious that she was enjoying her time in the town; the young woman seemed to fit right in with the Insurgents. However, as much as he knew Saige could take care of herself, Terry wasn't so sure she should get involved with the townspeople. So when she took his hand and practically pleaded with him to agree to settle in the area, he had to stop himself from immediately opposing the suggestion.

"Look, Saige," he began, lowering his voice to a whisper, "I know that this all looks nice, and stable, and all that. But do you really think that what we're seeing is all there is? I mean, take another look around." The young man gestured to the many tents and makeshift huts scattered around the place. "They didn't get all of this stuff from peaceful bartering. They were talking with that...that Deathclaw thing like it was some sort of war hero. I saw its claws up close - they're not for shaking hands. And the people here...sure, the ones we see are happy, but what about the ones we don't?" Terry paused to sigh. "I...I don't know. I don't know if we're safe here. I don't know if you're safe here."

If Terry had been in this situation a year ago, before he had begun dating Saige, perhaps he would have jumped at the chance to live among warriors. The constant threat of danger could be a drug, pulsing life into the veins of the emotionally dead. But for him, Saige had been enough to make his heart race. Perhaps he was being a little selfish, but he wanted to ensure her safety more than anything.

Darren had been caught off guard and was barely quick enough to turn and blast the first ghoul through the chest quickly putting it down. Though it hadn't seemed to be alone he pushed the limp body away for him and stood straight up shielding the child from whatever would come next. Like shrieking banshees three more ghouls came running, with a few shots the first was down but the second had gotten to Darren and knocked his laser rifle to the ground. Like paper, Darren grabbed the ghoul and slung it against the ground and with a distinctive snap he slammed his forearm against it. In front of him he watched as the other ghoul went sprinting for little Alondra, without hesitation he jumped up and ran at it full speed. With a loud thunk he tackled the ghoul, after getting in position he began pounding it with his thick arms. After a few seconds he got up off the ground and walked to his rifle and with a deep sigh picked it up off the ground and strapped it to his back. "If you ask me, ghouls are nasty busy. Whether they can speak or not, oh and thanks for the warning,"Darren said with a slight smile before dusting himself off from the previous engagement in which he pummeled ghouls like like stone against paper. Though he treated them like cannon fodder Darren had a few deep cuts and bruises.

Saige's brow furrowed in frustration. There were doubts she had about this place too but that didn't mean they had to cast all hope of ever settling here away. Terry was talking like these people were savages, and maybe they were, compared to the Vault dwellers. They were smart though, innovative and...brave. Bravery was the one thing there was a shortage of in the Vault.

All of them had been coddled from the day they had been born, told they would never have to worry about anything; it would all be taken care of for them. Not for Saige though. Her mother had died, her father pratically left her; he certainly hadn't been around enough to be considered her dad. Hell, she had pratically raised herself. And maybe that's why she was so hell bent on staying here.

These people had raised themselves from the ashes of a broken, dead land. They had taken a worn, broken town and made It livable. This was something Saige could see herself being a part of. These were people she felt she could call family.

"You have doubts. And that's okay," she said as her hand reached up to his face, stroking his cheek. "And you're right, I'm sure not all of this is from bartering but when has any society sprung up out of pure kindness? The Vault wasn't. Hell, you had to have some monetary value to even get in one. But this world is different." She gestured around them, "You can see it. We're not there anymore, Terry. For all we know, this is the best we're gonna get."

She sighed, "And maybe we're not safe, I don't need you to tell me that. I can take care of myself, you know? I'm not some delicate flower, you of all people should know that." Another sigh. "But in the end, if you think we really, truly aren't safe, then we'll go."

She hated to admit it, but she did need Terry, despite all her protests. He helped her see reality in the midst of the fantasy that was her life, and she supposed that was what she needed. She needed someone to hold her down, keep her feet on the ground. Keep her sane.

@kaito9049

"Not bad for a city boy," Allie said as she shoved her knife back in her belt, unused. She flicked a piece of blonde hair back. "I could've taken him, y'know? I might be little but I damn sure can fight." She scanned his injuries up and down. Nothing that couldn't wait until they got back to Blackwood. "Come on, we're not far now."

They walked for another good twenty minutes before reaching the south gate. Allie nodded to Rick, one of the guards, who quickly opened the gate for the little girl. "What're you doin' bringin' city folks in here for, 'Londra?" He called as the pair entered her little town. She chuckled, rolling her eyes.

"Come on, Mr. Darren. Gotta take you to Bastilla before I can let you wander off."

She led him to their leader's tent and stopped in front of it. "Be respectful and polite, 'kay?" She pushed open the tent flap and grinned at the woman sitting before her. "I brought a friend!"

Alondra's childlike innocence that had seemed so lost earlier was found in this moment. Bastilla had been her greatest rolemodel, and pratically a mother to her. She was the one person Allie was sure she could trust, making her much more open and a lot less defensive.
