"Great," Terry said under his breath. "More walking." He wasn't usually such a sarcastic son-of-a-radroach (or maybe he was), and he was far from exhausted, but the stinging wind and the physical exertion tended to pummel the good humor out of him. Maybe he had been spoiled by vault life, as odd as the thought seemed. In any case, he had to admit that Saige had found a good area to scout. He just wished that it wasn't such a long tudge away. He didn't the like idea of being out in the open for an extended period of time, either. Unfortunately, they didn't have much knowledge of the terrain around them.

"Alright," the young man sighed, shouldering his bag once again. "No use putting it off. Just...keep an eye open. We'll go about halfway and then check the town again with a scope." He glanced towards Saige. She had always seemed more physically fit than he, though Terry was used to grueling work. But he knew as well as anyone how important hydration was. Leaning close to the girl, he whispered, "Are you thirsty? I have a bottle of water in my bag if you need something to drink."

Darren sighed as he leaned up from his bed, the nap he took hadn't been as long as he wished but now it was darker out. With push of his arms he made his way out of his bed and began walking toward his make shift clothes rack. Using his hands he felt through them trying to find the driest pair of clothes. After a few seconds he found his favorite set of clothes. A pull over, a white undershirt, and a pair of loose fitting pants. After pulling it on he made his way over to his bed drawer and opened it. After pushing his way through a bunch of bolts and screws he grasped his watch and fit it around his wrist. Looking back he heard the friendly voice of Jenkins his Mr. Handy robot. "Sir you slept through supper so I decided to make you a snack," Jenkins said in his polite voice he always used. Walking to his door he opened it and greeted Jenkins with a smile,"What'd you make," Darren said sluggishly as he walked past Jenkins. They continued talking for a while and Darren ate the salisbury steak Jenkins had prepared for him.

After Darren grabbed his laser rifle and stimpack he made his way up to the roof. Walking over to the far right corner of the roof he looked over the three large solar panels he had set up. Under each of them they had charging ports for fusion cells. After taking out each charged fusion cell and replacing it with a empty one he made his way down stairs and out the front door. The first thing he did was grab his cart and began to walk down the road, his laser rifle strapped behind his back.

Goras&Illuta

When Goras woke he didn't know how long he had been out, most likely not very long . He was still sore from the fight but he was still alive so that was a positive. There was of course the human that he had seen that he needed to deal with, or at least speak with her as she had been very helpful. He slowly got up from the cold metallic floor and looked around for the girl.

Illuta had taken the time that the thing had been sleeping to do something she hadn't been able to do in forever actually eat more than scraps. The vault had lots and lots of food and water, and something that fizzed that Illuta didn't know the name of. All the supplies had always been guarded by the robots so she could never really get that much from them leading to her thin rather simi starved look, she wasn't just skin and bones but she was not well fed. She had made sure to not only get food for herself but for the strange thing that had killed the robots.

Looking around Goras soon saw the girl with a large pile of food in front of her, and a similarly sized pile in front of him. She must have gone to get him food she did look awfully thin.

" I believe I owe you my life little one " Goras said his voice deep yet without the edge it had when he had killed the raiders.

Illuta almost jumped when the thing spoke, something like that could speak Illuta didn't even know what it was and yet it spoke. Still at least it was smart so it wouldn't attack her like a monster might, so at least it wasn't a monster.

" You broke the robots I thank you" She said her words taking long to be pronounced and even then they sounded wrong like she had never heard people talk correctly.

Goras nodded the girl spoke oddly though he had some idea why she was like that he needed to confirm " Are there any others left any humans, your parents perhaps ?" he asked.

Illuta shook her head " All dead I last left been long time I was little when all died now I am big" She said having no way to track time at all so she didn't even know how old she was or how long she had been alone.

" I see well now you are free, but the world above is dangerous and you have saved me so I shall protect you it is a way to repay you as a knight should." he said he was still a knight in his mind and there was no way he could leave this girl alone " Though with these supplies this vault could be made into a settlement with ease.

Illuta didn't have a clue about most of what the thing was talking about she understood he apparently wanted to stay with her though what a knight was or a settlement escaped her it had something to do with the vault. " I Illuta " She said going with what she knew her name.

Goras realized he was talking over the girl's head when she told him her name well at least she didn't seem to reject the idea of him around " I am Goras I will explain things latter for now we feast" he said keeping it simple as he scooped up some of the food Illuta had brought in and starting to eat.

Saige

"I'll be fine," Saige murmured back to Terry. She was a little thirsty, but they need to save as much of their supplies as possible for emergencies. She took his hand and squeezed it, smiling up at him, "Let's get out of here." She waved Shane over as she dropped Terry's hand. With that she began to lead the way down the hill. They trekked across the expanse of land, making good progress. They had been walking for a good hour or so when Saige began to get a little tired. They needed to stop for a little, besides they were a lot closer to the settlement they had seen, and could even spot buildings and fires from where they were. There was a small clearing nearby and Saige led the way.

She sighed and sat down in the damp grass, waving the boys over. There was a cave nearby but she knew that they probably shouldn't worry about anything there, in case of hostile animals and such. She leaned back, her palms pressing into the cool dirt. She slipped her pack off and rummaged around again for the scope, passing it off to Terry, "You wanna check it out?"

Alondra

Allie's bare feet hit the pavement as she ran through the streets of Suffolk. There had been a supply run and after much pleading, Alondra had been allowed to accompany the group that came. The Insurgency was a pretty self-serving community, but they did run into Suffolk occasionally to gather supplies. The little girl had split off from the group early on, eager to explore the area. She had turned for a moment to look behind her, making sure she hadn't run too far from the group. They were still in her sights. In the moments she had her head turned though, she found herself running smack into a cart. She fell to the ground and looked up, startled. She was average size for a nine year old but still small, the impact jarring her pretty good. She rubbed her head as she stared up at the man. She frowned. She didn't recognize the man, he certainly wasn't apart of her tribe. Her eyes narrowed as her hand reached for the small blade that was tucked into the belt that wrapped around her dress. She didn't say anything yet, waiting for the man to speak first.

Terry sat down on the earthy floor to catch his breath. It would be bad if they were to be ambushed right then; none of them seemed to be in any condition for a long skirmish. He shook his head, trying to clear himself of such thoughts. Now was not the time to ponder a hypothetical. Still, the whole thing was still a little exciting, knowing that his life hung on a thin thread, that danger could potentially lurk around every corner.

The boy rubbed his hands together, a little tiredly. He wanted to drink some water, or even rest a while longer, but he knew that supplies needed to be conserved, and that they couldn't stick around for too long. He took the offered scope from Saige and peered through the lens. blinking a few times to clear his eyes. He gazed around the small town in front of him. From what he could see, the area before them had once been a residential area, with possibly a few shops--honestly, it was hard to tell what was what from the ruins. For a short moment, Terry wondered about the people who had once lived there. How many families had been vaporized in the length of a few seconds?

And then, a bit to his surprise, he found that he didn't really care all that much. It was hard to imagine a society before the vault. Whatever horrible tragedy had occurred in the past, it didn't affect his future. At least, for now.

Refocusing on the town, Terry looked for signs of bandits or other dangers. There were fires, so it was apparent that there was some sort of civilization (if you could call it that) present. However, he couldn't really...there! In the distance, a small cottage with a light on movement! ...it was gone. Had Terry imagined it? He couldn't be sure. "I...I think I saw something," he said to the others, handing off the scope back to Saige. "I'm like 92% that there's people there. Quite a few of them, by the number of fires and pillars of smoke. But I can't tell if they're friendly or not."

Goras&Illuta

Goras slowly lead Illuta out of the vault that had been her life, after getting a few weapons for Illuta and supplies which her pip boy would keep counted for them. It would be nice to also have a good map of the area as while Goras knew many of the places he could not truly be sure where he wandered. There had been on little problem but Goras doubted it would amount to much so the two had set out.

Soon enough the two emerged from the cave that had housed the secret vault forgotten by all to see there was still daylight out even if it would soon enough be night. The was also something Goras did not expect outside, as near the cave there was a group of people in blue jump suits, vault dwellers. This did remind Goras of the problem with Illuta her vault suit was not so much a suit as clothing that had been torn so much so it could have easily been mistaken for a blue bikini that even then was extremely tight apparently clothing had been used up by other humans and there were no spares to be found.

Well there could be worse people to find outside the vault like raiders, ghouls, or even more of his kind. Thought things would get awkward.

" Did your vault open early dwellers?" Goras asked his voice carrying easily.

Darren stopped in his tracks as a small child ran into his cart, he hadn't seen many people let alone children and he hadn't gotten along with the last set of people who thought they could rob him, but this was just a child. "You shouldn't be out here by yourself little one, there's mutants and such about. Either run off to your parents, hide, or stay close," Darren said as he surveyed the area around him. "Where'd you come from anyway I didn't know of any other people this close," Darren asked warily, he knew this child couldn't have been far from her home, well he felt it must have been very unlikely.

Shane smiled as he returned Saige's wave. He had been quiet the entire trip so far, rethinking of his ideas of what to do out here. It's been his main idea to make a name for himself as a gambler, already having his own set of caps and prewar cash to use. Shane was completely aware he'd be the straggler in the triangle of Saige and Terry's relationship, which he is fine with, but he has been hoping they have no problem. As an idea, they might be a good group, but eventually they may have to split, by split as in Shane leaving of course, not now, but truly eventually. He opened up his Pipboy and started going through his statistics, obviously a bit bored he just let out a sigh as he trudged behind them. It was apparent she was really fit, unfortunately even though Shane was fit, he was more of a person near computers and his cards, even though he was able to shoot a gun. He let out a soft sigh as he looked at his right hand, forming into a small fist as if his hand was holding a pistol, flashing back as he remembered when back then before the war, his father would always take him into the backyard and would teach him to shoot cans and targets. As he looked back up and was knocked back into reality and free of his thoughts, Terry would say something about possible "friendlies or hostiles" nearby. "We should keep a distance, we have nothing much to defend ourselves with, encountering up close would be more of a disadvantage for and to us", Shane told truthfully as he pushed his hair to the side.

BASTILLA

*The sudden noises of twigs snapping became rampant, footsteps rapidly sounded over around these groups of survivors. Maybe even Vault Dwellers? No, no way they could be... if they were, they'd have to live. Bastilla was never one to kill innocent settlers, for they made a fine trade and a audible audience to her people. Though, they mustn't forget that she meant business. Bastilla's angry people surrounded them in a instant; wielding blades, blunt objects, and chains. Their adorned face paints in its full glory and teeth gritted with anticipation. She stepped from behind them, her hand at her waist, a bat with nails dragging across the dirt behind her. Her arm raised at them and she flashed a mimicking grin.*

"I don't suppose your settlers..."

*The Insurgents whispered among each other, then started to shout and spit at the men of their group. A bigger Insurgent tried to grab at the pretty female. Bastilla shouted, "Aya!" then they quickly stopped and backed off. She clicked her tongue and pointed at Saige. SAige was quickly swooped off her feet into the clutches of the bigger Insurgent. Bastilla stepped toward her, with the Insurgents slowly surrounding the men.*

Saige stumbled to her feet, eyes wide in surprise. In a matter of moments, they had been ambushed. Her smooth, pale hands went up in a sign of surrender and she glanced down at the two boys to do the same. Her blue eyes, while wide, were still cool and collected. They roamed over the sight before her.

A monster of some sort, with glowing red eyes and leathery skin; a woman, who seemed to be the leader of the group. Her face was tattooed like the rest of her people's. Saige tensed up as men began to approach her, her sense of hearing picking up the voice of the other creature. He was asking something, but Saige was far too focused on the fact that men were surrounding her, inspecting her, like she was a piece of meat. She shuddered and closed her eyes, waiting for someone to make a move.

A quiet yelp escaped her lips as a man swooped her up. She bit hard into her lip to keep from screaming or saying something offensive. She did, however, give the man a fell swoop between the legs, making an effort to escape, however useless it was.

"Bastilla sniffed Saige slightly and observed her up and down. She was too pretty to be of the wasteland... far too domesticated and kempt. Bastilla thought on how envious she might be. She pulled at her leather jumpsuit and touched the side of her face; examining the area closely. It was a endless wonder where this one is from. A vault. How incredible it could be, they were beginning to open. Perhaps she would be very useful to her and her people. To have a Vault as a home, a place to settle into and attach to Blackwood. To further increase territory and be a valuable place that could be inaccessible to the outside dangers... but she knew she couldn't grasp these thoughts yet. She needed to know more.*

"What is your name?"

*She glanced at the men of the group. Bastilla realized that these Dwellers are not a day over twenty. It surprise her if so. So, So young.*

Goras

Goras didn't even need to tell Illuta to hide when he looked back she was simply gone no doubt looking for a place get a good shot from. He did hope this would end without violence but these raiders, or tribals( their actions indicated the former rather than the latter) but sometimes there was little difference other than tribals pretended there was a good reason for their violence . Still these raiders to tribals apparently didn't see the deathclaw standing maybe 10 or so feet away from them.

' I know my kin can blend in but I doubt I have developed such an ability I would be so grateful if you didn't pretend I wasn't here " He said sounding a little mad as he walked towards the raiders he could most likely take them depending on how high on chems these fools were.

Saige forced her eyes opened and stared the other woman in the eye. Her breathing was heavy as the woman's calloused fingers brushed over her skin. Her neck was strained as the man held tight to her. Her light weight and small height made her easy to hold onto. She turned her face away as her fingers reached Saige's cheek. They remained there as the woman asked for her name.

"Name's...Saige. And you know, I'd really appreciate if you could ask your lackey to put me back on the ground."

It was a bold statement, but Saige was a bold girl. She only hoped her words wouldn't cause any ill effects on her group.

*A man of the Insurgents, who were adorned with feathers and white body paint, he had the least amount of armor and he wielded the leg of a table with a buzz-saw double-sided on the end. He walked up to Goras slowly and raised his weapon at him. The Insurgent kneeled at Goras and spoke loudly but in a friendly tone. Like a wise man.*

"We have no quarrel creature, Deathclaw's aren't killed in this land. We've no interest to kill these people, we're not certain if their enemy. Stand down, for no violence isn't intended."

@Karcen

*Bastilla scoffed and thought for a moment. She's no threat. It wasn't expecting for these people to attack a outnumbered group of Tribals with clubs and blades. She nodded at the Insurgent and he dropped her, slowly backing off. Bastilla circled her slowly.*

"Saige... where are you coming from? I'd imagine not anywhere... near here."

*She looked at the wastes around her. Gesturing at them.*

Goras

Ok now if goras could look surprised he would be so very surprised, these people actually apparently knew what a deathclaw was and apparently weren't scared of them but acted almost as if the killing machines that normal death claws were could think and talk. There was no way anyone had ever seen a talking deathclaw the enclave had yet to reveal itself, vault 13 still had many years till it opened , talking death claws should not exist and if they didn't exist there should be no friendly deathclaws. They had all been made to kill and it was something they did well so how anyone would not want to run or fight when they saw one was a surprise.

" Now I must say this is a surprise you act as if you expected me to be able to understand your words, though I did speak to you mimicry is a trait of my kin, but my mind is not so tell me why is it you do not kill the greatest threat in the wastes?" he said suspicious of these locals now.

Alondra scrambled to her feet. "I know my own world," she spat at the man. She was a child, yes, but she did not enjoy being treated as one. "Besides, my people are right-" She found herself stopping her speech as she realized her group was gone. Damn her, she should have stayed with them like Bastilla had told her. She looked back at the man and with a haughty tone began to speak. "Okay, maybe I do need you to help me."

@jole875

Saige almost fell to her knees as the man dropped her. Luckily, the girl's reflexes were quick and she managed to regain her balance quickly. One hand rubbed a spot on her shoulder as she stared down the woman.

"Vault 76. Now, I think it's our turn to ask some questions. For instance, who are you and where the hell do you get off on just ambushing our little group like this?"

Saige didn't normally go off on people like this but when you ambushed her friends and assaulted her, she tended to get a little aggresive.

*The insurgents that stepped away from the boys gasped softly and spoke to each other almost excited. The Tribal stepped back a step and regained a more calm stature. Never had he heard a Deathclaw speak. He dropped his weapon and stood.*

"Deathclaw's are territorial. For they are aggressive, we've saved a injured Deathclaw from men in Iron-like armor who were trying to clean them from these lands. We saved him, we cared for him in his final hours, for he did not make it, the creatures took notice in our kindness and left us be when we traveled. When we settled, we left them the corpses of the fallen and the left over materials to fortify their caves. You are smart. I vow to remain unarmed to your kind, great beast."

*Bastilla back handed Saige with a jolting slap that knocked her to her feet. She gasped softly and sighed heavily, she felt terrible. Her grace was to help Saige up and dust her off. It was just her reflexes on the loop again. She would assume she'd need to make it up to her.*

"I'm... sorry -- We don't know who you are... You are in the Insurgency's land. The town you see is Blackwood. We welcome travelers and trade with open arms. We forfeit many factions of Suffolk from here though, they do not take action at us, because we don't attack unless provoked and we're not in the boundaries of their routes. I don't know who you are, therefore, the action i must take is dire to the safety of my people, now; this Vault... Vault 76? You're from there, yes?"

Iron armor … power armor that shouldn't be , that couldn't be the enclave weren't in this area yet or at least they shouldn't and the brotherhood was on the other side of the country. There was no way they could be here both groups were still in hiding waiting for things to calm down and it was around 170 years before ht brotherhood expanded though the country. Still these humans were making a mistake in one thing not all deathclaws belonged to the same pack unless the humans had helped the biggest pack they could run into a loner or even another pack.

" Then your men are lucky this pack has remained and that the alpha honors your choice but should a rouge or roaming pack come in and you will need your weapons. But tell me more of these men in armor what was their insignia that was emblazoned on their armor ?" He said as Illuta came out from the shadows and hid behind him.

Saige's skin stung as she felt a sharp back hand slam across her pretty white cheek. The force sent her to the ground and tears prickled in her eyes as she stumbled back to her feet. Her hands wiped at her eyes and she forced herself not to respond, not to strike back.

"Understandble," she mumbled through gritted teeth.

"Vault 76, yeah. Although, there's not a lot left there. Our resources were only meant to last for twenty years and, well, our time is up."

She landed one hand on her hip and pushed her hair back.

"Look, at this point we're just looking for somewhere to stay. So, if you could just, I don't know, let us shack up for a couple of days and then we'll be out of your hair. Please."

Saige wasn't one to give up but she had to put the safety of the group before her personal inhibitions.

Everything had happened so suddenly, Terry had hardly had time to react. His main concern was over Saige's well being, but, unsurprisingly, she could take care of herself perfectly fine, a fact well-pronounced as she delivered a strong kick to one the men's...areas. Impressive, though he had to wonder whether a more diplomatic approach would be suitable, especially since there was a talking Deathclaw.

Despite the danger, Terry felt elated, the sense of adrenaline rushing through his veins. Something in the back of his mind tugged at him, ordered him to do something completely stupid for the sake of a more intense rush. But cooler instincts prevailed, as he slipped into his normal calm, smooth-tongued demeanor. "If I may interject," he began, "we were simply passing through. As Saige has informed you, we are a bit new to this whole surviving thing, so perhaps you could show us the ropes? We are perfectly able to protect ourselves, of course, but food and other supplies are of high priority." It was important that the Deathclaw and these...Insurgents know (or at least believe) that they could put up a fair fight if need be.

"The men were not of this region, nothing we've ever seen! Salvaged so it seemed, it was badly scorched and poorly put together. It was durable and protection enough, I've seen myself a symbol with stars. More unrecognizable then most. We've never the pleasure to find any more..."

@Karcen

Goras

Just raiders nothing to worrying, a few raiders had power armor though the stars were interesting two symbols had stars the enclave and the united states, it was more likely the latter if they were so poorly maintained. Well then these humans seemed to have it though these vault dwellers needed help it seemed but as they were not in danger Goras did not needed to help them.

" I see then they were not who I might have thought they were that is good for you, they should not be here yet for should they come they bring with them the embers of the old world that might ignite the world once more. " Goras warned

Illuta

Illuta felt safe enough that she didn't need to hide these people weren't mean yet they at least talked to Goras so they couldn't be too bad even if they were dressed weirdly even she at least had parts of her blue suit like all people should have in her mind.

" You from vault to the robots kill you as well?" She asked from behind her hulking guardian.
