AHHHHHH so that's how it is! Alright alright NEW GAME PLAN. Since Aten's angel side is just a subconscious thing, basically it's just Aten's morals and own handy cap at not being able to control his angelic mumbo wumbo...sooooo...oh jfc wait with Aten's full consent to turning to the dark side would that make him a fallen angel? *my brain: Why are you doing this to yourself. Look at you, you've got pizza crumbs on your keyboard.*

Lord almighty spare me the need to have to make a character to TURN WILLIAM INTO A CHEESE BURGER. (pls don't do it man my brain is too fried from trying to come up with reasonable theories).
Actually, I just realized that physically seeing it isn't necessary. He would notice the different shifts in energies when Aten has that stuff put in him, following by the Demon going silent, and I don't think he would just stand by while something like that is happening. Dammit @WhosJack, why must you be so determined to drag him out of the shadows. lol`
Interesting. So it's not two literal souls in the same body, just two parts of him that manifested as separate personalities? Or is it more complicated than that?
basically the angel side is sort of like a second internal voice(like in those wattpad werewolf stories where the wolf form has it's own voice the human counterpart can speak to mentally. that's how the angel side works)

He wouldn't specifically decide to join the dark side, just say yes to getting the demon merged into a 3rd subconscious like the angel and his own(again, wattpad werewolf stories. if push comes to shove, the other subconscious can take over, it has it's own personality)

Well now that I am awake enough for my brain to work properly and Aten is becoming visibly distressed, William is going to be stepping in because that's the kind of character he is. Sorry guys. :/

OH FOR FUUUUU I forgot about William loitering around! Jfc @WhosJack You're so damn lucky you made your hocus pocus stuff invisible or else all of my hard work would have gone up in flames CUZ YOU OPENLY POOFED IN FRONT OF SOMEONE. but it's cool, im good, im breathing
Yes, good, breath. I was taking into account that William was still on their heels hence all of Hadrian's disappearing magic tricks.

Alright Nicotine, relax, take a breather and let me talk for a bit. You sound like you're 2 cups deep into nothing but sugar and caffeine. If I need you're help I'll give you a call.

Oh go ahead. It would be too out of character if William didn't step in at this point.

So it's a three way split. The subconscious is the Angel, the instinct is the demon (he does what he wants, no question there), and the logic is just Aten himself since he decides on which one works at the end of the day. But like any other person the subconscious could override both the instinct and logic // vice versa. Hopefully I said that in a non-confusing way but anyways I get what you mean now.

At the moment I'm not really worried if Aten chooses to go over to the dark side (contrary to it being the whole point) but at this point I'm more concerned between his and Hadrian's compatibility. What would put Aten at ease?

I'm good m8, I'm cucumbers right now. But uh if you know you wanna really make me calm can you give me a quick run down of what you're planning to do now???

Well considering William has just stepped in and witnessed the incident I was thinking of going down the "Oh thank goodness someone arrived, it seems he's feeling unwell and blah blah" the spiel continues. If worst comes to worst I'm going to have to use the mom card and ask for Corvana's mind manipulation spell to 'wipe the slate clean' more or less.

Elaborate man I'm no mind reading genie.
not really sure, probably water (literally, just don't soak him in water or he'll turn merman on you ppl
It would be so much easier if Hadrian could nonchalantly produce a cup of water with a spell without having witnesses implode.

Which one do you think is better: Wolves, bats, or ghouls?

Yet. lol The long and short of it is William isn't the kind of guy to let things get that far along when he's involved. More than that I shan't say for now as I wish not to spoil the surprise. :P

Aten is part merman, if he gets completely soaked, he gets a tail and his eyes and nails change along with the tint of his black hair :I (soaking his hands and face is fine tho)

I wish it accidentally happened tho, than Hadrian could scoop Aten up and get him to the garden fountain(cuz that thing isn't really shallow)

I was counting on him to be extra stubborn on this. I'll just let it play out as is since at this point Hadrian would very likely want to gulp down his own glass of water lol.

Now you're giving me an idea for a scene. I still have no idea where Aten's favorite spot is (outside of the castle apparently lol) and if Hadrian and him had actually gotten to that point a little rainfall would do just the trick. I'm sure then Hadrian wouldn't have minded carrying him all the way back to the castle. In fact he wouldn't have taken no for an answer lol.

I'd have to go with Ghoul. I feel like they're underrated and I really would like to see more genuine undead that look the part.

His favourite spot is a lake outside palace walls. like, a 30 minute walk to there

note though: Aten can't be out of water for more than 3 minutes or he'll suffocate when he's in his merman form

And all the while the everpresent internal screaming. lol

That actually gives me a few idea too, none of which my current character would be doing, but they are interesting nonetheless. Say, do ghouls radiate their own energy fingerprint if they're summoned as non-corporeals?

Ohhhh maybe while they're on their way then? So Hadrian would have to pick him up and run to the lake to save him from suffocating. Maybe a way to get his trust...?

By non-corporeal do you mean as a ghost, apparition or something like that? Because I would imagine that they would have to be sustained by some sort of energy even if they are undead.

definitely could happen. after this little dispute is resolved and Aten has a canteen of water, he's drinking while they're walking and stumbles, soaking himself?

No of course not, how could I forget about your fairy/ghoul combo? Although I'm guessing you're bringing him into the line of characters now.

Oh yea that sounds good. I think Aten needs his space for the moment so would it be good if Hadrian comes to him first after this or do you want to have Aten go to Hadrian. Or maybe they even run into each other at one point. Hadrian could be in need of some fresh air and Aten could cautiously mention the lake not too far from the castle grounds maybe.
