Fantasy Umbre Vineam (ignore post count, always looking for ppl!)

Lan groaned as he tried to remember what happened. He'd been at the cemetery. Ran into some strange girl and collected a code. The code. His eyes. He'd overdone it. Again. "Damn." He breathed. He couldn't use his bionic eyes and with the mask on he was blind. As much as he hated the idea he didn't have a choice. He tried to move his limbs, easing off his mask. He proceeded to rub his eyes then struggled to even prop himself up on his elbows, scanning the area for his board, he saw it under a tree a few feet away. From his angle, it looked to be intact but he couldn't be sure. If he could use his bionic eyes he'd be able to tell then again it was those eyes of his that got him into this mess in the first place. He slowly shifted his position, propping himself on his back as he blinked his eyes to adjust to the brightness of the sun wondering how long he had been out for. They sprung wide open with shock when they caught sight of a face staring down at his own. A face with distinctive fangs. A vampire.

I glanced down at her hand gripped at her arm. I knew i could find her in a heart beat. But... i believe in a little fun right? I sniffed the air. "Over there.." i said casually a small smirk on my face as i eyed her. So determinded... so worried. She needed to relax.

Pili Kakra

Pili was surrounded by a horde of zombies. At first glance, they appeared as regular human traffic, but with one sniff, you can tell this was no ordinary crowd. The zombies seemed they were on to something. Pili followed them in hopes to find her sister. It has been awhile since Pi walked on concrete. She recognized the direction her zombies were heading. Would Masika be at The Hills of Hyres.... She pondered as she followed her zombies hopelessly. Little does Pi know that a mansion called Vineam Manor, which resides in the Hills of Hyre, emanates evil and draws in anything that has a taste for mischief or malevolence. Pili's elegant attire was sure to draw attention Within this dense forest. She hid within the crowd of zombies to avoid confrontation of any sort. Through the horde, she has already spotted strange looking ghouls and creature, but what stood out the most was a woman with the scales of a dragon. She seemed to be tending to a wolf. She seems kind... Pi thought, but the woman's intimidating horns and long tail made her coward deeper into the horde. She only wished to find her dear sister.

Aurora sighed, watching the wolf. As if the two were linked, their heads suddenly lifted. Aurora's nose flared as she inhaled an earthy musk that was different from her surroundings. The hair on the wolf raised, a growl emitting from his throat as he moved closer to Aurora. A smirk lifted at the corner of her lips as she slid a clawed hand down the wolf's back. Her eyes moved straight towards the mass of swaying and stumbling people. "Now, why would there be such a large crowd out here" she growled to the wolf. Her wings vibrated with energy as she prepared for the unexpected. Her nostrils flared again as she suddenly caught wind of a rank smell that made her face scrunch. Those aren't people she thought, leaning a bit in case they charged. Her tail moving like a snake "Are you just passing?" she growled, her eyes narrowed. "Or are you looking for a fight? Speak your peace!" she hissed towards the blob of zombies.

The zombies surrounding Pi stood to a halt. Their feet may have been planted, but their body moved from side to side involuntarily. The zombies turned to the direction of the winged dragon woman and her growling wolf. They moaned and mumbled incoherently. Pi tried to peek through the wobbling bodies to see what commotion she has caused. If one was keen enough, her emerald green eyes and her exotic perfume may potentially be spotted among the undead. Pi realized her zombies presence may have irritated the inhabitants of this dense forest. "Identify the threat," she said in a hush tone to a fairly fresh zombie who seemed to have died in her young teens. Her left eye has been gauged and her arm and side had many wounds filled with maggots and dried blood. The teenage zombie approached the dragon woman nonchalantly; she was walking with an eerie twitch in her neck. "Ermanamaaah..." The zombie groaned, abiding the command from her master to scout the threat.

@FlawlezFalcon

Aurora watched as the zombies stopped moving, their bodies swaying like the grass on a windy day. Aurora lifted an eyebrow, her tail moving like a whip that was alive. Suddenly, a zombie broke from the crowd. Her steps were uneven but determined. No facial expressions, no interest, just a blank stare. The wolf raised it's lips and arched it's back, ready to lunge at the zombie's throat. Aurora put a hand out in a flat palm, causing the wolf to sit but he continued to growl. Aurora watched as the zombie twitched as she appeared to be looking over Aurora. A sound...no a gurgle, admitted from the zombie's throat. Aurora's face scrunched up from the smell of the creature that loomed before her. She lifted a hand to her face, attempting to cover the stench of death from her nose. Aurora's attack mode had lowered significantly. This was no threat...this was merely a weed in a forest. "Can I...help you?" she asked.

Pili sighed in relief when the winged woman failed to struck at her kin. "Come," she called to the stray zombie and it hurriedly scramble back to its horde with an ecstatic limp. With Pi's hands she gestured for the zombies to bow down, and without hesitation, the zombies bowed to their master. Diamond in the rough, there stood Pili out in the open before the dragon mistress. Her hands were now together in a prayer like form. Her hair blew in the wind and made soft noises of Taptaptap when her gold beads, entangled in her hair, made contact with one another. Her gems and headpiece shimmered in the little light that was exposed within the forest, but most importantly, her emerald eyes filled with worry and despair looked onto the woman before her. "I have lost my beloved sister..." she started off to the stranger, "have you seen a being alike of my resemblance?" The zombies grumbled and moaned meaninglessly as Pi awaited an answer.

Aurora watched the zombie suddenly scurry back to the others. If a zombie could have been relieved, that one would have been. She tilted her head, watching it morph into the blob of dead flesh once more. As they bent down, Aurora knelt to attack, her tail whipping up like a scorpion's in preparation to fight. Instead, they knelt to reveal a beautiful Egyptian like woman. As she begun to speak, Aurora lowered her spiked tail, wrapping it around her waist. "You have lost your sister" she repeated. "I have seen no one on these roads, but I am sure my wolf could assist" she said, crossing her armor scaled arms as she looked at the graceful woman. Such an odd thing...traveling in the stinky mess of rotting flesh and you look like that? Why? Aurora shrug off the thought, her lavender eyes honed in on the woman. She could be an assassin..or someone contracted to take her goods...but she doubted it.

Pili watched curiously as the woman wrapped her waist with her very own tail. She placed her hand on her bum and wondered what a tail would feel like. Like a another limb... She concluded. Pili looked away despairingly when the dragon mistress claimed no being as came across her path. "Oh," was her reply. Then the dragon mistress offered her help, but Pi felt ashamed to have disturb the stranger, "It is not necessary... I'm sure you have other objectives to attend to." She signaled her zombies to rise. As ordered, the zombies rose clumsily yet eagerly. She found their reaction strange... Almost off. Do they sense Masika? Then the horde suddenly rushed in the direction of the abandoned Vineam Manor. "Wh-what's going on?!" She was forced to follow the urges of her kin. They were moaning and gasping more desperately. Why were they acting so strange? Masika must be in the manor... Pili looked back at the mysterious woman with her emerald eyes wide exposing her shock and fear.

Aurora was about to respond to the mysterious woman when the zombie horde suddenly acted out. Did she train these? Are they followers? she thought. Noticing their difference in reaction, she realized something was happening. When creatures of any kind stir like that, something wasn't right. All of a sudden, the zombies rushed off towards Vineam Manor. Aurora was taken aback by the hoard moving like that...they were so fast! She looked in the ground for any missing limbs or skin...or really anything. Her eyes widened as they moved. "What..just...happened?" she muttered, looking at the woman that was left behind. She looked scared. "Hup!" Aurora suddenly said. The wolf stood and instantly began to chase down the horde of running death. Aurora walked over to the lady and was almost taken aback by the amount of perfume that she wore. I guess I would too with that many zombies... she thought. "The wolf is following them. Would you like me to escort you?" she asked. Aurora was much taller than Pili and had to look down a little to see her. She studied Pili from behind her mask like scales, tilting her head. Small beaded strings hung from her armored horns.

Pili Reached out to her zombies painstakingly. "Stop.." She closed her eyes tightly and clenched her fist. "Thank you for your ki-kindness," Pi said as she looked up to the Dragon mistress, "I'm Pili." She knew the woman was tall, but up close she was practically a giant in Pi's eyes. "I-I'm a summoner..." She tried to explain, "the-they don't don't normally act like this." She was certain her zombies were looking for Masika. When the zombies arrived at the manor, they clawed and fought to enter the premises, but they weren't the only creature at the door. Several other undead creatures were attracted to whatever lied within the manor.

"Very nice to meet you Pili. I am Aurora and I am a beast tamer. Haven't seen the undead in quite some time" she said. She turned on her heel and motioned for Pili to walk. "They were definitely on a mission" she mused, more to herself than Pili. The wolf trotted back, turning to lead the two women. "What is is a summoner doing in the woods? Is your sister truly missing or is something else going on?" She asked, raising an eyebrow to the woman. She walked with her hands behind her back and her tail wrapped around her waist. Her wings we're tight against her back. She could have flown ahead, but this fancy summoner needed someone to watch her.

One of the zombies finally broke a glass window and was able to enter the corridor of the manor. The zombie fell over to the floor with a loud groan. The sharp edges of the broken window slit its stomach and its organs spilled onto tile, tainting it with brownish red blood. The other creatures and zombies came in through the window creating a pile of the undead. There, before the undead, was feast that smelled of bliss. Though none of the undead had any concerns for the black magic markings underneath the feast they so wished to claim. Some zombies crawled, others ran clumsily, and ate the tainted meat with out hesitation. Suddenly, the undeads' hearts began to pulse and it throbbed with hatred and anguish and fear. The zombies roared with anger raging at whatever came its way, including its own kind. Blood spewed everywhere. Limbs and organs were on the floor. This place was a death trap for whomever came across it.

Pili smiled at Aurora. She was please that her zombies did not intimidate her. "
You're similar to me!" she said lighting up, "but, I am sure you tame more intelligent creatures. I can only summon the undead." As she looked onto the distance, she spotted a few creatures surrounding a large mansion. The Vineam Manor, which was a bit of a blurr, gave off a very dark vibe. It gave Pi shivers. What Pili found peculiar was a broken window covered in black slush and blood. Had her zombies entered through there? She thought upon closer inspection. Pi had the urge to cling on to somebody, but it was only Aurora and the wolf accompanying her. She deep down wished for Masika or a zombie to cling on to. The closer they approached the abandoned mansion the louder the noises within it became. The abandon manor sounded more like an insane asylum to Pi.

The wolf at Auroras side hunched up and growled, backing away from.the mansion. Aurora rose an eyebrow and looked to Pili. "Something isn't right" she said, her tail unraveling slowly. Smoke began to flow from her nostrils and her wings expanded. Darkness vibrated the air. "I avoid this place usually...what do you know of it?" She asked, sending the wolf into the shadows. Her mind ran a mile a minute, planning her move for any sitatuion. The zombies had to be inside...could she lure them out? Her wings vibrated with energy.

Pili looked terrified. "Can your wolf tell if my sister is in there?" The thought of her sister in a dreadful place such as that made Pi tremble inside. Dearest sister, are you in the mansion? she asked telepathically. The emotions she was emitting caused more creatures of the undead to appear, but instead of attending to their summoner, they continued past her towards the Vineam Manor. This made Pili realize something... were my zombies truly looking for my sister? She was beginning to doubt them. "Miss Aurora, I-I don't think she's here." This must have been some cruel joke. She saw what was going on inside the manor through the windows and those weren't her zombies. They were thrashing at whatever came their way. She had to stop them. What they were doing was cruel. They must be possessed. "We've got to stop them before this gets out of hand!" She ran to the window and stretched out her arms, "STOP! STOP IT!" She attempted to repossess her kin, but instead it punched through the window and grabbed her arm. "Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

"No...but I believe you are right.. she is not here" Aurora said. Suddenly Pili was running forward. "NO!" Aurora screamed and instantly began to sing. Her voice lifted into the air into a haunting melody. The air suddenly seemed motionless and a beast began to grow. Aurora stopped singing as soon as Pili began to scream. Her arm was caught by a zombie. Her wings lifted and Aurora flew towards her, pulling her the other way. "Now!!" She shouted. A huge shadow morphed into a giant dragon. It's roar shaking the earth and air. It was just enough to pull the zombies attention away and let Aurora carry Pili away. She weighed her down, so Pili barely made it off the ground with Aurora carrying her. She collapsed away from the building, dropping Pili and herself into the bushes. She panted as the roar ended. The dragon faded back into the shadows.

"Ohoho!" As I drew myself closer to the mysterious boy, I watched as he jolted awake. The delusional face he made as he noticed my oncoming bite had me laughing hysterically, I gave him a devious grin. I scanned his awakened form, his bionic eyes, his electronic appearance. Was this guy even human, or was I just sticking my teeth into metal? Either way, I leaned towards him and giggled. "Had a crash landing, techy boy? Heeere, let's take your blood and make sure you're okaaay!" I opened my mouth as saliva dripped from my tongue. Not holding back, I stuck my fangs into his pale neck, immediately I tasted the gush of savory, warm blood enter my mouth as each gulp made me feel more and more alive. It was a matter of seconds until I stood up from my feeding position. I looked down at the boy, his blood dripping from my mouth.

"Ahhh.. That's good. I was starting to get a little worried." I eyed his bionic look and narrowed my eyes. He could very well be dangerous, especially after having his blood sucked by a little girl.

I glanced up to the air. I could sense my home city was unsettled. But by which mysterious events I did not know. However Vineam, for as large as it is in size, it is a small world. And everyone is connected some how.

I glanced at Andrew. Losing control was exactly what I liked to do. And now the Vampire is gone. She vanished. The definition of losing control. I kept my eyes on him for a brief moment. "Andrew. I think it's time we find that smelly girl." I said coldly as I started walking. My shoes crunching the damp gravel under my feet.

The sky, which was already dark from the night, darkened with the clouds that rolled in. A storm is coming...

Today was a bad day. Actually bad didn't even begin to describe it plus it wasn't even just a Bad day it had been a bad week. It started with his blacksmith shop being overrun by bandits while he was out getting supplies and hunting food they had taken everything Literally they even took his Anvil. HIS ANVIL! the thing weighed almost 300 pounds. But they wanted it so they took it. Then on his way out of the Lanomian Empire he managed to run into a dragon literally run into one not because he was blind or stupid but it was sleeping and it's leg looked like a root he could climb for a higher vantage point. But of course it wasn't a Root it was the leg of a Dragon. That he had to run from and now he was here in this old mansion surrounded by Zombies and some other crazy crap outside. Marquist got his head out of the clouds bad week or not he still needed to get out of this.... Alive preferably.

He had come to this Mansion hoping to get some shelter at least and too take a much needed break from his long journey. However as swoon as he unpacked his food a bunch of zombies came clambering at the door and one of them bust in the window soon after that. He ran past some zombies swinging his sword staff clear through one and knocking down a couple others. He took the first flight of stairs he could find ran up them and fell flat on his face as the last step gave way under his weight. He got up muttering about poor craftsmanship and how he wished he weighed less. He then ran down a hallway toward a room where he could see a window. Freedom he thought. Then the door slammed closed, He frowned still running and put his shoulder forward now was not the time to stop. He slammed into it with all his weight and he bounced off it. He winced as he felt his shoulder bruise almost instantly. He took a closer look and realized this was a metal door. Again he couldn't help but wonder who designed this place. Metal doors were not common but neither were mansions. "Plan C I suppose" He spoke to himself mostly because thinking out loud worked better for him. He could hear zombies coming up the stairs now and did not feel like facing them here. If he could get outside he would have the room he needed to fight them off just not here.

He pulled out his blacksmith hammer and went to work on the door hinges the top and first hinge popped out easily enough. He heard the zombies near the top of the stairs. The second hinge came out after a couple whacks. He heard zombies coming down the hall the lowest hinge was being a problem he could not get a good angle on it with his hammer since it was so low. He turned and saw a zombie right on top of him. He stood up grabbed it by the back off the head and slammed it into the door, The weakened hinge gave way and so did the door. Marquist wasted no time running through the room toward the window, he jumped through rolled on the roof on the other side and fell to the ground he managed to semi land it. taking a big stumbling step he got his balance and finally stood outside the mansion.

"Well I'm never staying there again, they never even offered me any wine and fancy cheese." Marquist then noticed the other two outside the mansion. He pulled out his sword-staff and took his fighting stance having no idea what to expect. "Are you the one's running room service around here cause I can tell ya right now there are a few improvements that need to be made, like your carpenter for example shoddy work. So tell me did you send those things in there just so you could flush me out or did you really think that would be enough to take me down? Because if so ya got another thing coming ladies." Marquist did notice it looked like they had just had some trouble as well so he lowered his sword-staff slightly "Are you two alright? you look like you might have had a tough as time as me? And to put it shortly that's saying a lot."

Before Lan could react, the vampire had sunk her fangs into his neck. He felt the blood drain from his body, too numb from the crash landing to feel the pain he was sure he would have felt from the bite. When the vampire had her fill, she released his neck, stepping back. She looked stronger and somewhat wary. No doubt his bionic appearance was the cause of that look of concern in her eyes. He was however in no condition to take on the Vampire. Especially not that she had now replenished her strength with his blood. He had no clue what kind of effect drinking the blood of an enhanced would have on a vampire and it unsettled him that she had seen his face. He cursed himself for having thought he was alone, hated how his guard dropped when he was overworked. He sat himself up and slowly stood, feeling some strength return. One of the nicer advantages of being an enhanced that did not result in painful after effects was his superior physical make, resistance and recovery speed. It ensured his survival from falls like the one he had and thankfully no broken bones that would add on to his list of problems. What troubled him most was the fact that he couldn't just leave. He needed to make sure this vampire wasn't going to be a threat and he needed some more time before he could use the most basic functions of his bionic eyes again. He pulled the hood well over his head to make sure he didn't reveal any other traits before looking at his surroundings Without his bionic eyes he couldn't tell where he was. "Goddamit." He muttered before returning his attention to the vampire. "Aren't you vampires considerate and well mannered drinking the blood of a wounded kid right when he wakes up." He moved to retrieve his board thankful that it was still intact. "Where is this place?" He asked.

When Aurora pulled Pi into the air, she couldn't stop thinking... Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god. Her repetitious thoughts came to a halt when they crashed into a bush. I just flew... Pili's eyes were wide with surprise. It seemed she couldn't control these particular zombies. She, suddenly, felt useless. She somehow mustered her strength to climb out of the bushes she fell into and looked at the very tall Aurora, "Th-thanks for that." She adjusted her headpiece and dusted off her clothes. Her off-white Egyptian cotton skirt had several brown and green smears. At least her top was still intact. Pi widened her eyes yet again when she spotted an older man walk right into the mansion nonchalantly. Her mouth fell agape as he slashed through her once lovely zombies. She felt her eyes welling up from the sight. The white-bearded man then came out of the manor as easily as he came in with a look of disappointment. When he shared his concerns in regards to the mansion, and addressed herself and Aurora as the room service, Pi just simply left her mouth open. She was quite speechless. Pi looked to Aurora for guidance of what to do in the situation.

"Hmmm." I looked around myself, we seemed to be in a clearing at the edge of the forest, however we weren't that far from Vineam city. "We're right outside the city." I smirked and closed my eyes, chuckling. "Weelll I mean, you can't blame me. Imagine if you saw a juicy steak laying right before your eyes, while famished." The chuckle diminished to a sharp tone. "Sooo... what's a geeky boy like you doin' here, eh?! Hell, you don't even look or taste like a normal boy. The hell are you?" The situation had grown eerie to me, my skin crawled with a burning sensation, and I was starting to get cranky for some reason. Jeez, this heat is making me sweat, not good. I tightened my grip around the red cloak and pulled it in closer to me.

Thank god. Lan thought. Right outside city. Looks like I'll be working on that code and getting my money sooner than I expected. He could understand what she'd meant. Years on the streets had taught him to never pass up free food even if it was just scraps. He frowned as she continued on talking. Geeky boy? He might well be a hacker and addicted to his computer but he was not a geek. "I'm not a geek and whatever I may be it ain't any of your business vampire." Just a bit more and he'd be able to use his bionic eyes again, return to the comfort of his mask and leave. The vampire wasn't a collaborator. She was more like one than the woman from the cemetery but her expressions and tone revealed too much. The first rule of a collaborator was to only reveal what was necessary and she had shown fear, worry, two emotions forbidden to a collaborator while on the job. Still a part of him was worried. If she was one of those curious busy bodies he could be in trouble if she tried to follow. He liked things private and even if she could do little harm he didn't want anyone who knew and saw too much to know where he lived. He'd knock her out before he left and in the unlikely event that he ran into her again....He'd curse and deal with it then. There was just enough energy in his arm for a single shot. Which meant if he missed that was it.

"Oh my! I do apologize Mr. Techno Boy!" I mocked in a laughing tone. "Please! Oh, please! Do tell me the details of your business! After all, it's not too often that a vulnerable boy waltzes into myyyy city." My grin grew deeper and more demonic looking, his statements piquing my interest and curiosity. Not to mention, I've never seen this guy nor anything like him anywhere in my decades of living. The fact that he's even here means he probably has something he needs to attend to. Meaning there's no way in hell that I'd let this moment escape, it urged me if anything. I took a few steps closer to him, so that our eyes met at a very close proximity, I gave him a sharp glare. "You're a smart guy, eh? I can tell by your 'equipment' that you are. If so, hear me out." My voice lowered to a whisper. "Take me toooo." All of a sudden, I gave out a hysterical cackle and fell back, flinging my head back to face the sky. "This is fate of course! 'cause I can tell that YOU will lead me to where I need to be..!" I stopped for a second, igniting a faint smile and putting my hand behind my back. From there, I pulled out my handy spear and gripped its handle, holding it out in front of the boy. "Unless of course, you have a problem with that."

Well shit. He'd rather be stuck with a collaborator rather than this vampire. She was close enough for him to blast with his hand but a gut feeling told him not to. He challenged her glare with one of his own as she fell back cackling like a maniac before pulling out a spear. "Well I guess a place like this fits a kid like you. Certainly not the place for a smart tech kid like myself just like how my world isn't for a vampire like you. In my world, fate does not exist. I don't know where you wanna go but you got to take yourself there alone cause I move solo. But if you insist, I won't stop you if you're gonna follow me. If you can even keep up that is." He wasn't a combat specialist so he certainly wasn't going to engage her which meant an extended recovery period was going to be necessary. The money would have to wait. In the meantime, he was going to have to head back into the forest and hopefully, he'd satisfy this stupid vampire or distract herself long enough to lose her completely. He pressed a button on his board causing it fold up into a disc which he slid into his jacket along with his mask before sprinting into the forest. He had confidence in his legs. They had after all kept him out of fights and escape trouble but after the beating they had taken from the fall, he might not be able to do it. In an attempt to save time, Lan activated his eyes, projecting the image of the code he had captured in front of him in a hologram only he could see as he tried to crack it while he ran aimlessly into the forest.
